Massive fire breaks out at home of Heat coach Erik Spoelstra

A devastating fire engulfed the Miami residence of Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra, with local news capturing footage of first responders tackling the intense blaze on Thursday.

According to NBC Miami, property records identify the residence as Spoelstra’s home, located near the intersection of Davis Road and Ponce De Leon Road.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue reported receiving the call about the fire around 4:36 a.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that “two structures on the property were fully engulfed” and subsequently called for additional support.

Fire rescue officials stated, “Due to a partial structural collapse, units transitioned to a defensive strategy and are continuing efforts to fully extinguish the fire.”

No injuries have been reported so far.

Spoelstra and his ex-wife Nikki Spoelstra — whose divorce was reportedly finalized in late 2023 — co-parent their three kids, Santiago, 6, Dante, 4, and Ruby, 2.

The Heat lost, 122-112, to the Nuggets in Denver on Wednesday.

Miami hosts the Hornets on Friday.
