(NEXSTAR) – A collection of Matthew Perry’s cherished memorabilia from his time on the hit show “Friends” is set to be auctioned, with the proceeds supporting a foundation established in his honor.
Die-hard fans of the beloved sitcom will have the chance to own some of Perry’s personal keepsakes, including over two dozen scripts, some autographed by the entire cast. Among the scripts are those for notable episodes such as “The One With Ross’s Tan” and “The One Where Joey Speaks French.” The scripts from both the pilot and the finale are also part of the auction.
Additionally, a replica of the iconic yellow peephole frame from Monica’s apartment door is available for bidding, capturing a piece of “Friends” nostalgia.
Beyond “Friends” memorabilia, the auction will feature items appealing to contemporary art enthusiasts, including two pieces by the enigmatic artist Banksy and one by Mel Bochner.
All funds raised from the auction will benefit The Matthew Perry Foundation, dedicated to providing access to addiction recovery services.
“Matthew believed addiction should be met with compassion and science, not stigma and silence,” said Lisa Kasteler Calio, CEO of the Matthew Perry Foundation, in a press release. “This auction fuels the Foundation’s work to expand access to evidence-based care and confront stigma. It is one more way we ensure that no one has to fight this disease alone.”
Proxy bidding with Heritage Auctions began on Tuesday. The full auction starts on June 5.
