NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) New York City Mayor Eric Adams continues to pound the drum for his reelection campaign, saying he will not drop out of the mayoral race.

Adams’ spokesperson, Todd Shapiro, told local affiliate WPIX that all rumors of the incumbent dropping out of the race are “complete b—-.”

“These lies are being spread by desperate opponents who can’t match the mayor’s record, his campaign energy, or his support across the city,” Shapiro said.

A recent WPIX poll showed that Adams (7%) is currently trailing the pack, consisting of Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani (43%), Independent candidate Andrew Cuomo (28%) and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa (10%).

The statement from Shapiro on Sunday came soon after New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced her endorsement of Mamdani through an op-ed piece in the New York Times.

“The campaign is alive, strong, and fully engaged just like the mayor himself,” Shapiro said.
