Michael Strahan Slammed by Fired Fox Star Over Baby at 54

After the arrival of Michael Strahan’s fifth child, former NFL linebacker and TV analyst Emmanuel Acho publicly raised questions about the New York Giants icon choosing to become a father again at 54.

‘But I’m just thinking like, if you have a kid at 55, 54, whatever the case is, are you putting your child in a position to get clowned?’ Acho said during a recent episode of his podcast, Speakeasy. ‘Now you’re Strahan, so you’re Strahan, it doesn’t matter.

‘There comes a point where even well-intended parents might be setting their kids up for jokes.’

Acho then moved beyond the possibility of teasing, suggesting the issue could be more serious than playground mockery.

‘When, Strahan is going to be 72 when his child is graduating high school. I’m pro-life, but are you setting your kids up?’ Acho said. ‘You know, here’s my problem: Is that not negligent?

‘If you know you’re not going to be around very long for the child’s life, then is it, to some degree, negligent to bring a child into the world knowing you may not be around very long to raise that child?’

Strahan, the current host of ABC’s Good Morning America, had a baby girl in August with longtime girlfriend Kayla Quick, TMZ reported at the time.

He and his 36-year-old partner have been together for over a decade after first dating in 2015.

Their new bundle of joy is the former football star’s fifth child. He is also father to a daughter, Tanita, and a son, Michael Jr, plus twin daughters Sophia and Isabella.

Strahan and Quick, the co-founder and CEO of beauty and wellness brand Fizzness, have kept their decade-long romance largely out of the spotlight.

Quick has made rare public appearances in recent years to support her beau, including during his Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony in January 2023. However, she largely keeps a low profile.

Strahan also became a grandfather two years ago when his daughter Tanita gave birth to her first son, Onyx, in 2024.

Tanita, a Los Angeles-based illustrator, is the eldest of Strahan’s five children. He had her and a son, Michael, with his first wife, Wanda Hutchins.

Strahan and Hutchins were married from 1992 until 1996.

He welcomed twins Sophia and Isabella with his second wife, Jean Muggli.

The couple divorced in 2006 after seven years of marriage.

Strahan has had his share of public romances over the years, including a five-year engagement to Nicole Murphy, whom he split from in August 2014.

Quick studied at the University of Tampa, pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in mass communication and media studies, according to her LinkedIn profile.

While she isn’t on social media, Quick has featured in the family’s social media campaigns, including one for 100 Coconuts, a coconut water business that Strahan is an investor in. She teamed up with Isabella to promote the brand.

Isabella was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a malignant brain tumor that develops in the cerebellum, after initially struggling to walk in a straight line, in 2023.

She underwent surgery and grueling chemotherapy and radiation treatments before being declared cancer-free the following year.

She was a college freshman when doctors found a tumor ‘bigger than a golf ball’ growing at the back of her brain, which caused her to suffer ‘excruciating headaches’ and vomiting.

Isabella documented her cancer battle on her YouTube channel. In July 2024, she revealed that she had undergone another major surgery after ringing the bell to mark the end of her chemotherapy treatment.

In July 2024, she was able to triumphantly announce on her YouTube channel that she was 'cancer-free' after undergoing her final MRI

For all of his advice to Strahan on the issue, Acho is not a father, himself.

The 35-year-old younger brother of NFL linebacker Sam Acho, Emmanuel is a podcaster these days, hosting Speakeasy alongside former All-Pro running back LeSean McCoy. Previously, Emmanuel starred on Fox Sports One until he was let go in July of 2025.

He’s also written books, including ‘Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man’ and ‘Uncomfortable Conversations with a Jew,’ the latter of which he co-authored with Israeli activist, actress and model Noa Tishby.
