Migrant allegedly mauled by ICE 'attack dog'

A father from Washington state endured a frightening ordeal after an ICE enforcement team reportedly used deceitful tactics to coax him from his home, resulting in a brutal attack by a police dog right in front of his family.

Senator Patty Murray, a Democrat, has condemned the incident as a particularly troubling illustration of the Trump administration’s increasingly aggressive deportation measures.

Senator Murray recounted the experience of Wilmer Toledo-Martinez, a 28-year-old who arrived in the United States at 15. According to her, Toledo-Martinez sustained severe injuries when ICE agents raided his residence on November 14.

In a sharply worded statement, Murray criticized the agency for what she described as a violent and deceptive ambush on Toledo-Martinez, who is undocumented.

“An ICE agent deceived Wilmer by pretending to be a construction worker,” Murray explained. “The agent falsely claimed to have damaged Wilmer’s car, prompting him to step outside to assess the situation.”

‘Another agent, accompanied by a dog, was hiding nearby and released the dog on Wilmer shortly after he stepped outside.’

Murray said Toledo-Martinez was not resisting, not running, and posed no threat when the dog was deployed.

The attack played out in full view of his wife and their two young children, ages two and three – all US citizens.

The family could do nothing but watch ‘helplessly’ as he was bitten, dragged, and taken into custody.

‘The photos documenting his injuries are horrific,’ Murray said. ‘This should shock the conscience of every one of us. I do not want to live in an America where federal agents can sic attack dogs on peaceful residents with impunity and face no consequences.’

She accused the Trump administration of weaponizing immigration enforcement against ordinary families.

‘While Donald Trump’s entire mass deportation agenda has been nothing short of depraved, this is especially sickening,’ she said.

‘He is terrorizing everyone, including US citizens and their loved ones,’ Murray added.

After the dog mauled him, Toledo-Martinez was left disoriented and reportedly unable to see clearly.

‘At one point his vision went black,’ Murray said. Yet he was denied medical attention ‘for hours,’ according to both the senator and his attorney.

He was eventually transported to a hospital, where doctors stitched his wounds and prescribed antibiotics but according to Murray, the medication was not provided promptly, and one prescription was never provided at all.

'By now, everyone should realize Trump is not going after violent criminals or the worst of the worst - he is terrorizing everyone, including US citizens, and their loved ones,' Democratic Senator Patty Murray said in a statement

Throughout his detention at the Northwest ICE Processing Center he has repeatedly struggled to access basic medical care, she explained.

Toledo-Martinez has no criminal convictions, Murray said. He is married to a US citizen and is the father of three American-born children, ages two, three and seven.

Murray is demanding his immediate release. She warned that Toledo-Martinez’s story is likely not unique — only unusually visible because he allowed her to speak publicly on his behalf.

‘There’s no telling how many similar stories are not being told for fear of retaliation,’ she said. ‘By now, everyone should realize Trump is not going after violent criminals or the worst of the worst – he is terrorizing everyone, including US citizens, and their loved ones.

‘Every one of us must demand justice and accountability and every one of us must speak out against these kinds of human rights abuses.’

The Department of Homeland Security has not commented on the senator’s allegations.

But the incident comes amid a series of violent clashes linked to ICE enforcement in the Pacific Northwest.

Police in Vancouver, Washington, recently confirmed they are investigating a separate arrest in which an ICE agent appeared to run over a man’s foot with his vehicle.

In Tucson, Arizona, Rep. Adelita Grijalva said she was ‘sprayed in the face’ by a chemical agent while protesting a federal immigration raid at a Mexican restaurant.

Local Democrats, including Tucson Mayor Regina Romero and Vice Mayor Lane Santa Cruz, issued a joint statement saying the operation ‘rapidly escalated into violence against the public.’
