The recall impacts millions of FGF Brands doughnuts and pastries sold across the United States and Canada.

SAN FRANCISCO — Millions of FGF Brands doughnuts and other pastries were recalled in Canada and the United States.

The recall, issued by the company in January and released by the Food and Drug Administration Wednesday, warns the over 60 types of pastries have a “potential for contamination with listeria monocytogenes.”

The recall is now a “Class II” level, meaning the products in question may cause “temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote” if consumed.

All the pastries and doughnuts were made before Dec. 13, 2024 and include dozens of varieties including: yeast doughnuts, apple fritters, raspberry filled doughnuts, French crullers, Persian doughnuts, Bavarian pączkis, sour cream cake doughnuts, coffee rolls, pumpkin munchkins, football shaped doughnuts and many more.

The FDA says a total of 2,017,614 cases were impacted. The products were sold in grocery stores and other businesses nationwide.

Listeria can cause vomiting, diarrhea that could last up to 5 days, fever, muscle aches, headaches, nausea, joint and body pain, according to the FDA. However, the FDA says the illness is “usually mild and goes away on its own.”
