A man from New Jersey is accused of breaking into a house via a bathroom window and attempting to sexually assault a sleeping girl early Saturday morning. Fortunately, he was apprehended by the resident inside the home.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office has charged 36-year-old Jermin Fordyce with several serious offenses, including first-degree home invasion, burglary, attempted aggravated sexual assault, and second-degree aggravated assault.

Hackensack police officers were dispatched to the home around 3:40 a.m. in response to a reported burglary. Upon arriving, they discovered Fordyce had been restrained by the occupants of the house after being found in one of the bedrooms.
Authorities state that Fordyce gained entry through a bathroom window and proceeded to the bedroom where the girl was sleeping. The police have referred to the victim only as a “resident,” but NJ.com identifies the victim as a girl.
