A Tesla driver was killed and nine others were injured in a massive pile-up on Interstate 95 in Miami early Thursday morning.
Florida Highway Patrol officers say the deadly crash occurred just before 2.30am when the Tesla driver lost control of his vehicle and slammed into a concrete wall in the southbound lanes near the 112 expressway leading to the airport or 195 heading east to Miami Beach.
When fire rescue crews arrived on the scene, they found nine people injured and one man who had already died.
Authorities were able to take five adults to the hospital, but four other refused treatment.
One victim is now said to be in serious condition, while the other four are stable.

The Tesla driver was forced from his vehicle and was run over by an oncoming white Nissan, which was then struck from behind
According to Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Alex Camacho, the driver of a black Tesla sedan lost control and collided into a concrete barrier.
When the car came to a rest, authorities said, the Tesla was blocking a nearby roadway, and was struck by an oncoming black Dodge sedan.

The impact of the collision sent the Tesla driver, who has only been identified as a black adult male, flying out of his car and he landed on the roadway.
An oncoming white Nissan then slowed down in an attempt to avoid running over the man, but was struck from behind by a Chevy SUV.
The Nissan was then forced forward, NBC Miami reports, and ran over the Tesla driver.
A series of more minor crashes then ensued between the Chevy SUV, the Nissan sedan, a white Jeep SUV, a tow truck and a gray Jeep SUV.

Following the crash, the southbound lanes of I-95 were closed for hours as debris was strewn across the interstate and officers worked to investigate the crash.
The closure snarled the morning commute for hours, before I-95 was reopened to traffic at around 9am.
