Pedro Pascal has revealed his younger actress sister Lux is the ‘first person to empower me’ while currently facing existential issues around age. 

The Hollywood actor, 50, who has been in the spotlight for the past twenty years, revealed the encouraging words his sister Lux, 33, shared with him to ‘keep going’ during times of self-doubt.

Sitting down to interview his sister for the October 2025 issue of Elle, Pedro shared the advice his sibling shares that keeps him confident. 

The actor, who holds both Chilean and American roots, expressed: ‘Every day brings something new. Especially during times when I confront existential questions regarding aging, you are the first to empower me and boost my confidence. It’s your impatience with my doubts that actually gives me the strength and assurance I need.’

‘Because you’re just like, “Enough is enough. You’re the s***,” and you’re the person I believe the most, so that keeps me going.’

Lux replied by recalling a time she broke down in tears on the phone to her famous brother and the kind words he gave her.

The Hollywood actor, 50, who has been in the public eye for two decades, cited the inspiring advice given by his sister Lux, 33, to ‘keep going’ whenever he feels uncertain about himself.

She added: ‘For me, I just remember this one moment. I don’t want to give too much context about it, but I just called you crying and you were just saying no, shaking your head. 

‘Because I was telling you about what was making me cry, but you were just like, “Just be yourself. People will see it eventually. Just be yourself.” And I was just like, Yes, he’s right.’ 

Pedro and Lux share a strong bond, with the Mandalorian star previously calling her one of the ‘most powerful people and personalities’ he knows.

Speaking to Esquire last year, he gushed: ‘She is and has always been one of the most powerful people and personalities I’ve ever known. My protective side is lethal, but I need her more than she needs me.’

He added that he had always felt ‘parental’ to Lux and his younger brother Nicolás following the death of their mother, Veronica Pascal, who tragically took her own life in February 1999, when Pedro was 24 and Lux just seven.

He explained: ‘They were very young kids, so much younger than me and my older sister, so even if they hadn’t lost a parent, we would still feel parental toward them.

‘And I didn’t naively think I could fill a space like that, but I just always wanted to be like, I’m here.’

Like her brother, Lux is also an actor, having graduated from the prestigious Julliard School in 2023, and having roles in The Prince, Invisible Heroes, and Chilean drama series Los 80.

She publicly came out as transgender in 2021, appearing on the cover of Chilean magazine, Ya, where she bravely detailed her transition.

Lux credited Pedro as being an ‘important part’ of her journey as she recalled: ‘When I officially told him about my transition through FaceTime, he asked me how I felt… because I remember that he was worried.

‘I told him, ‘I’m happy.’ And his answer was: ‘Perfect, this is incredible’.’

Pascal has previously shown his support for the transgender community, earlier this year sharing on Instagram the quote: ‘A world without trans people has never existed and never will.’

He added in his caption: ‘I can’t think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorising the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist.’
