Fresh off the press, a life-changing lottery win has landed in New Jersey.
A Powerball ticket sold in the Garden State matched all six numbers Wednesday night, claiming the $847 million jackpot and ending a nearly two-month stretch without a top-prize winner.
The winning combination was 15, 34, 41, 53, 56 and the red Powerball 21.
The winner, whose identity has not been disclosed, may take the advertised $847 million annuity or accept a one-time cash option estimated at $363.1 million.
The prize ranks as the ninth-largest jackpot in Powerball history. It surpasses the $768.4 million jackpot won by 24-year-old Manuel Franco at a gas station in suburban Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on March 27, 2019.
Wednesday’s drawing marked the first Powerball jackpot win since Aug. 12, when an Illinois ticket captured the $1.04 billion prize.

That winner, who opted to remain anonymous, chose the $450.5 million lump-sum payment.
The Illinois jackpot winner spent just $2 on a Quick Pick ticket purchased at the Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh convenience store in Quincy, Illinois.
With Wednesday night’s drawing, Powerball’s top prize has now been won nine times in 2026.
The August jackpot remains the year’s biggest win and ranks as the eighth-largest in Powerball history.
The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338.
