During a recent protest against Israel, demonstrators were seen waving Hezbollah’s flag and expressing their support for the Iran-backed terrorist group. Some individuals also went as far as burning US flags and chanting “death to America.”
Video footage from the protest in Wall Street captured a masked activist proudly displaying Hezbollah’s flag, which featured an assault rifle image and the words “The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon.”
Laura Loomer, a conservative activist and ally of former President Donald Trump, was present in Manhattan during the protest. She confronted one protester about the presence of the Hezbollah flag in New York City.
“Why are you supporting this? This is terrorism,” Loomer, dressed in a pro-Trump t-shirt and accompanied by an aide, said.
As a police officer tried to put some distance between the protesters and counterprotesters, an outraged Loomer shouted: “that is a terrorist flag!”
Several female activists then ganged up on Loomer, making fun of her appearance and telling her “kill yourself,” but she would not back down.
“I don’t give a f—k… You’re supporting Hezbollah, which is a terrorist organization,” she said.
A man wearing a keffiyeh scarf wrapped around his head and holding a defaced Israeli flag riddled with holes shot back: “Israel is a pariah state.”
A woman in the crowd exclaimed, “we love Hezbollah,” while another protester could be heard yelling that “America is a terrorist state.”
Founded in 1982 in response to the Israeli invasion of Lebanon, Hezbollah is a Lebanon-based terrorist organization backed by Iran, which has been involved in numerous attacks, including the bombings of the US Embassy and the US Marine barracks in Beirut two decades ago, according to the National Counterterrorism Center.
Loomer ultimately walked away from the verbal confrontation seemingly rattled, telling her companion: “this is f—ked up. There people are f—king crazy.”
She later claimed on X that she was “assaulted, harassed for being Jewish, screamed at by grown men, had my life threatened by a man in a HAMAS Bandana, and witnessed countless innocent New Yorkers get accosted by terrorist supporters.”
During the Lower Manhattan portion of the protest, an American flag held by a counterprotester was set on fire and had to be put out by cops, as seen in a video shared on the X account Luis Documents. Moments later, a man was heard screaming, “Death to America!”
The mob later stopped Manhattan-bound traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge, crossed the span on foot and proceeded to cause havoc outside Barclay’s Center, Borough Hall and inside City Point Mall.
While rallying outside Borough Hall, protesters burned another American flag while chanting “Shut it down!”
