BIBB COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — Residents in Randolph are under a boiled water notice, effective immediately, requiring residents to boil any water they receive before drinking or cooking with it.
The Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) placed Randolph on a boiled water notice Thursday morning, as stated in a Facebook post made at 9 a.m. by the Randolph Water System – Bibb Co. The notice, they said, was due to a “loss of water pressure and the weather-related event.”
On Wednesday, Randolph Water System had recommended, via Facebook, that residents begin boiling their water “as a precautionary measure.” Earlier that same day, they asked that residents begin conserving water.
Randolph Water System said they are working around the clock to get service restored. In the meantime, residents can receive water from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday at the Randolph & Lawley Volunteer Fire Departments by bringing a current water bill.
In their Thursday Facebook post, Randolph Water System said that their Facebook page is not monitored by the water system or its employees, therefore all reports and concerns must be made to the phone number on Randolph water bills.
