COLUMBIA, S.C. — In a bid to enhance the efficiency of reporting issues at licensed health care facilities, the South Carolina Department of Public Health has introduced a user-friendly online portal. This initiative aims to simplify the process for residents wishing to report concerns regarding various health establishments.
The newly launched portal encompasses a diverse array of facilities, ranging from nursing homes and dialysis centers to home health agencies and even tattoo and body piercing studios. By guiding users through a series of questions, the system assists the DPH staff in effectively addressing complaints. Moreover, it automatically populates essential facility details, such as license numbers and administrator contact information, thus reducing the burden on users.
With this system, officials hope to streamline complaint procedures, accelerate the investigation process, and ultimately enhance the safety and quality of care provided across South Carolina.
For those unable to access the online portal, the DPH’s Healthcare Quality office remains available to assist via telephone at 1-800-922-6735.
To learn more or to lodge a complaint, individuals are encouraged to visit the DPH’s “File a Complaint” page.
