Authorities allege that McKee is responsible for the deaths of his ex-wife, Monique Tepe, and her husband, Spencer Tepe, during the holiday season in Columbus.
The tragic incident unfolded on December 30, when the couple was discovered shot to death in their residence. Fortunately, their two children were unharmed and found safe inside the house.
According to court filings, McKee’s identification was made possible through neighborhood surveillance footage.
The murders led investigators across several states and made national headlines, but authorities ultimately tracked McKee down and arrested him in Rockford on Saturday. It’s unclear what McKee, who works as a vascular surgeon, was doing there.
A grand jury in Franklin County returned an indictment against McKee on Friday. At the time, he was being held in a Winnebago County jail.
McKee is charged with two counts of Aggravated Murder and one count of Aggravated Burglary.
