Scott Peterson beat up during prison yard pickleball match: report

Infamous wife-killer Scott Peterson got beat up by a fellow inmate during a prison yard pickleball match on Sunday, according to a report.

At Mule Creek State Prison in California, a 52-year-old inmate named Peterson was involved in a pickleball game that took a violent turn. Reports indicate that another prisoner became upset with Peterson’s aggressive playing style, leading to a physical altercation.

The conflict began when Peterson repeatedly hit the ball at the other inmate’s body, causing tension to escalate. The situation quickly turned physical, with the disgruntled prisoner resorting to punches and strikes to express his frustration.

Though he suffered injuries, he did not need to go to the hospital, the TMZ reported, citing prison sources.

Peterson was convicted in 2004 of killing his 8-months-pregnant wife Laci who vanished on Christmas Eve in 2002.

The incident involving Peterson is a stark contrast to the tragic case of Laci, who went missing from her family home in Modesto, Ca., only to be discovered deceased in the San Francisco Bay in April 2003. Her husband, Peterson, was implicated in her murder and arrested shortly after her body was recovered.

The apparent pickleball enthusiast was convicted of first-degree murder of Laci and second-degree murder of the couple’s unborn son Conner in 2004, though he has continued to claim that he is innocent.

“[I]f I have a chance to show people what the truth is, and they are willing to accept it, it would be the biggest thing that I can accomplish right now — because I didn’t kill my family,” Peterson said in a 2024 three-part Peacock docuseries called “Face to Face with Scott Peterson.”

Last year, Peterson’s case was reinvigorated by the Los Angeles Innocence Project, which advocated for the convicted killer to enter a discovery process to attempt to prove his innocence.

Peterson is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

The case famously inspired the bestselling book and award-nominated film “Gone Girl.”

Mule Creek State Prison did not respond to a request for comment.
