In the early hours of Saturday, residents in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, reported hearing at least seven explosions, according to various sources.
The Associated Press noted that around 2 a.m. local time, low-flying aircraft were observed navigating the skies over Caracas.
In response to these developments, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a Notice to Air Missions at 1 a.m. EST on Saturday, restricting all U.S. aircraft from entering Venezuelan airspace at any altitude.

This situation unfolds amid ongoing U.S. military operations aimed at intercepting suspected drug-smuggling vessels in both the Caribbean and the Eastern Pacific.
