() A beloved pet dog has been rescued after falling approximately 100 feet into a canyon at the Colorado National Monument in Colorado.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, the female pup, Yogi, was in a “ruff situation” after visiting the national park from out of town.
Yogi ended up over the edge and down the canyon after getting too excited and dashing toward the edge without understanding the nature of a canyon.
Thanks to the Mesa County Search and Rescue team, Yogi was brought back to her owner after a staffer rappelled down to rescue her.
“Despite her long fall, the dog was up and walking once her rescuers got her over the ledge. Her owner was extremely grateful and took her to the emergency vet right away,” the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office said in the Facebook post.
Yogi was taken to the emergency vet following the rescue but was walking on all fours once brought back to her owner.
