Morgan Geyser, who was last seen on Saturday night, has disappeared from her home without permission, according to police reports.

WASHINGTON — Authorities are searching for a Wisconsin woman, Morgan Geyser, who was involved in the infamous 2014 “Slender Man” stabbing case. She reportedly removed her monitoring bracelet and left a group home, prompting a police alert.

The Madison Police Department has reported that Geyser, now 22, was last observed around 8 p.m. on Saturday near Kroncke Drive with an adult companion. Prior to her departure, she detached her Department of Corrections monitoring device. Police have circulated a recent surveillance photo and are appealing to the public to call 911 with any sightings.

Geyser had been residing in a monitored group environment since being discharged from the Winnebago Mental Health Institute earlier this year, where she had been confined for seven years. Her release came after mental health professionals testified to her significant progress, as noted by CBS News.

In 2014, Geyser and her friend Anissa Weier, both 12 years old at the time, were convicted of luring their classmate, Payton Leutner, into a park in Waukesha during a sleepover. Prosecutors detailed how Geyser stabbed Leutner 19 times, with Weier’s encouragement. The pair claimed they committed the act to satisfy Slender Man, a fictitious horror figure.

Leutner survived her injuries, and Geyser pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree intentional homicide in 2017. She was ordered committed to a psychiatric hospital for up to 40 years in 2018 after arguing she was not responsible due to mental illness.

Weier, who pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, was committed for 25 years but granted release in 2021 under GPS monitoring and supervision.
