Reviewing $120 Worth of Naturium Body Washes: An Honest Experience

When it comes to body washes, I’m always on the lookout for something that hydrates and looks chic on my shower shelf. This time, I decided to dive into Naturium’s range of bestsellers to find one that would earn a permanent spot in my bathroom.

As a beauty enthusiast and commerce reporter, a top-notch body wash is something I can’t resist, particularly when it boasts more than just basic cleansing properties. Naturium offers a wide selection, and choosing just one felt like an intimidating task – but then again, variety is the spice of life.

Each bottle in Naturium’s lineup targets specific needs, whether it’s hydration, skin barrier support, exfoliation, tackling body acne, or enhancing a natural glow. With such specific benefits, deciding my favorite based on ingredients alone seemed impossible. Plus, my husband has turned into an unofficial tester, adding a fun twist to our routine, as long as he doesn’t claim my favorite as his own.

After a rigorous side-by-side testing marathon, which felt more like a body wash showdown, I discovered my top choice and a few others that certainly deserve a re-purchase. Some left my skin feeling silky smooth, others excelled at exfoliating, and a few were perfect for addressing issues like clogged pores or dry skin.

Below are the eight Naturium body washes I reviewed, each ranked by its standout performance.

Naturium The Glow Getter Multi-Oil Body Wash

Amazon

Pros:

  • Replenishes moisture and softens skin

  • Cleanses without leaving skin feeling stripped
  • Oils give skin a smooth, healthy-looking finish
  • Cons:

    • Doesn’t contain targeted acne-fighting ingredients

  • May feel too heavy for oily skin
  • Not fragrance-free
  • The Glow Getter was the one I kept reaching for when I wanted my shower to feel a little more luxurious without sacrificing that clean-skin feeling. I loved the way the oil-like formula transforms into a gentle milky lather, and my skin felt noticeably nourished rather than squeaky or tight after I rinsed.

The formula contains 50% glycerin plus linoleic-rich oils and plant-derived squalane, which helped explain why it left my skin feeling so soft and comfortable. My only complaint is that the richer texture can feel like more than I need on especially hot days, but for an everyday body wash, this was the easiest one for me to fall in love with.

Naturium The Booster Hyaluronic Acid Body Wash

    Amazon

    Pros:

    • Hyaluronic acid and glycerin help attract moisture

  • A good option for fragrance-sensitive skin
  • Oat-based ingredients help maintain moisture.
  • Cons:

    • Doesn’t provide as much oil-based moisture as Glow Getter

  • Won’t target rough texture or clogged pores
  • I went into testing The Booster expecting a basic hydrating body wash, but the silky gel texture made it feel much more substantial than that. I liked how easily it spread across my body and how soft and supple my skin felt afterward.

It combines hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, seven molecular weights of sodium hyaluronate, 30% glycerin, oat beta-glucan, vitamins B5 and B12, and it’s also fragrance-free. The downside for me is that it doesn’t have the sensory, indulgent quality of Glow Getter, but I’d pick this one when hydration is my top priority.

Naturium The Calmer Ceramide Body Wash

    Amazon

    Pros:

    • Helps strengthen and support the skin barrier

  • Oatmeal and allantoin help calm uncomfortable skin
  • Leaves skin feeling moisturized rather than tight
  • Cons:

    • May feel heavy if you prefer lightweight washes

  • Doesn’t target bumps or rough texture
  • Better suited to dry skin than oily skin
  • The Calmer immediately stood out to me for its plush, creamy texture, which made my shower feel more soothing than invigorating. I liked that my skin felt conditioned after rinsing instead of stripped, and the combination of ceramides, colloidal oatmeal, allantoin and cocoa butter gave the formula a distinctly comforting feel.

I didn’t love the relatively low-key lather because I personally enjoy a body wash that feels a little more bubbly, but I’d happily trade that for the cushiony finish when my skin is feeling particularly dry.

Naturium The Perfector Salicylic Acid Body Wash

    Amazon

    Pros:

    • Unclogs pores and fights body breakouts

  • Useful for congested, blemish-prone skin
  • Cons:

    • May cause dryness with frequent use

  • Rinsing it off limits how long the active works
  • Better suited to acne-prone areas than clear skin
  • The Perfector was my pick when I wanted a body wash that felt like it was actually doing some targeted skin care while I showered. I liked the mild gel formula and the way my skin felt smooth and refreshed afterward, without the tight sensation I sometimes associate with exfoliating cleansers.

Its encapsulated, time-released salicylic acid is designed to gently exfoliate and purify pores while glycerin and linoleic-rich oils keep the formula from feeling drying. For clogged-looking pores and body breakouts, this is the formula to go with, but if you need more moisture, I’d go with The Calmer.

Naturium The Smoother Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body Wash

    Amazon

    Pros:

    • Provides effective chemical exfoliation

  • Improves rough, uneven-feeling skin
  • Gives a smoother, more radiant appearance
  • Cons:

    • Some may experience stinging due to active ingredients

  • Overuse can leave skin feeling tight or dry
  • May feel irritating if used after shaving
  • I noticed the biggest difference in how smooth my skin felt when I used The Smoother, which made it an easy choice for my glow category.

The Smoother gives a lovely glow, combining glycolic, lactic, pyruvic and tartaric acids to exfoliate dead skin cells and target rough, uneven texture, and I liked the way it gave my skin that fresh look. I also liked that it’s fragrance-free, but I found myself being more mindful about how often I used it compared with the gentler hydrating formulas because it’s still an exfoliating wash.

Naturium The Energizer Mandelic Acid Body Wash

    Amazon

    Pros:

    • Cooling ingredients create an invigorating shower experience

  • Designed to help neutralize unpleasant body odors
  • Mandelic acid provides gentle exfoliation.
  • Cons:

    • The cooling feeling doesn’t necessarily mean better cleansing

  • May not suit sensitive skin because of its aromatic extracts
  • Provides milder exfoliation than the glycolic-acid wash
  • The Energizer was the most invigorating body wash I tested, thanks to its cooling sensation and fresh, citrusy-herbal feel. I liked reaching for it after workouts or on mornings when I wanted my shower to feel more wake-up-and-go than cozy and moisturizing.

It uses mandelic acid and fermented sugar cane in a low-pH formula designed to help neutralize body odor, while the cooling effect gives it an extra-refreshing edge. I didn’t find it as hydrating as my top picks, so I wouldn’t choose it when dry skin is the main concern.

Naturium The Multi-Peptide Advanced Body Wash

    Amazon

    Pros:

    • Great if you enjoy a luxurious body-wash texture

  • Peptides, amino acids and vitamin E help condition skin
  • Designed to leave skin soft without a tight, stripped feeling
  • Cons:

    • Peptides have limited contact time because the product is rinsed off

  • Doesn’t specifically target acne or rough texture
  • The Multi-Peptide Advanced Body Wash had the richest, creamiest texture of the bunch, which immediately made it stand out in my shower lineup. I liked that it left my skin feeling smooth and hydrated rather than overly cleansed, and the formula pairs peptides with a rice amino acid complex, vitamin E and antioxidants to support the skin barrier and soften the feel of roughness.

I didn’t find it quite as instantly hydrating as Glow Getter or The Booster, but I liked it enough to keep reaching for it when I wanted a more elevated, cushiony lather

Naturium The Purifier Niacinamide Serum Body Wash

    Amazon

    Pros:

    • Supports smoother, more balanced-looking skin

  • Cleanses without being overly harsh
  • Works well if you prefer fragrance-free formulas
  • Cons:

    • Not as moisturizing as Glow Getter or Calmer

  • Not as targeted for acne as a salicylic-acid wash
  • Niacinamide has less time to work because of product format
  • The Purifier felt like the most skincare-forward cleanser to me, particularly because its gel-serum texture turns into a rich, milky lather as I work it into my skin. I liked how clean and refreshed my skin felt afterward without the stripped sensation, and the formula contains 2% niacinamide, glycerin and a prebiotic complex with anti-odor properties.

I also liked that it’s fragrance-free, which made it an easy option when I didn’t want my body wash competing with the rest of my routine. My only drawback is that I didn’t find it quite as memorable from a sensory standpoint as Glow Getter or The Energizer, but it’s a very solid everyday option.

Are the body washes worth it?

After testing all eight, I’d say the brand is worth it. From the pump applicator to the way the formulas absorb into the skin, it’s giving spa for $15 a bottle (and they’re *big* bottles).

The Glow Getter Multi-Oil Body Wash is my overall winner because it gave me the best combination of hydration, a satisfying texture, and that little bit of shower-time indulgence I’m always looking for. I’d pick The Booster when my skin needs extra moisture, The Perfector when I’m focused on body breakouts and The Smoother when I want the smoothest-looking, most polished skin.

The Calmer is the one I’d keep around for dry-skin days, while The Energizer wins whenever I want a genuinely refreshing shower. Naturium has essentially turned the humble body wash into a choose-your-own-skincare-adventure situation. After testing the lineup, I can see why so many of these bottles have earned a permanent spot in people’s routines.

    How I tested

I put eight of Naturium’s body washes through my shower routine and paid attention to everything from texture and lather to how my skin felt immediately after rinsing. I also looked at which formulas felt easy enough to use regularly and which ones seemed better suited to specific skin-care goals. Naturium’s current body-wash lineup includes several of these formulas alongside newer additions, and several are among the brand’s most-reviewed body cleansers.

I still have yet to try the The Multi-Vitamin Daily Nutrients Body Wash(another hydrating option) and The Revealer Sulfur Body Wash (for blemish and redness control), but no fear — those are next on my list.
