In a passionate online video, Robert Davi, best known for his role in “Die Hard,” sharply criticized Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Davi, expressing his frustration, accused the socialist Democrat of neglecting New York’s Italian-American community. This backlash followed the release of a City Hall map that highlighted various immigrant neighborhoods but conspicuously left out Little Italy.
The controversial map, named “New York City Immigrant Enclaves,” showcased numerous communities like Little Palestine, Little Egypt, and Little Africa. However, it overlooked historically significant Italian, Irish, and Jewish neighborhoods, sparking disapproval from various quarters.
Davi, 75, recounted his family’s history with noticeable emotion. He mentioned his grandparents’ migration from Sicily and Naples, emphasizing their encouragement to learn English in the land of their new beginnings. “This is America,” he proclaimed with a fervent sense of patriotism, “God bless America.”
Reflecting further, Davi shared stories of his grandfather’s service in World War I, where he was injured three times. Highlighting his family’s immigrant contributions, he asserted his grandfather had helped build New York City, embodying the resilience and dedication of Italian immigrants.

“Go back to where you belong, Mamdani, go back to where you belong and run for office there,” thundered the actor, who lives in Apollo Beach, Fla., and played played FBI Special Agent Big Johnson in “Die Hard.”
Davi also ripped into Mamdani for skipping the traditional installation Mass for New York Archbishop Ronald Hicks at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in February 2026.
“And what you did to the Catholic Church by snubbing the Archbishop. You jerk,” Davi raged. “What you did, snub little Italy, and you wanna take down the statues.”
Only after catching some serious blowback from dozens of groups — including the Italian American Civil Rights League, which accused the mega-left-leaning administration of erasing Italian Americans — Mamdani said his administration now plans to add Little Italy, according to Fox News.
Davi’s scorched-earth rant quickly lit up X, where supporters cheered on the veteran actor.
“I agree with every word,” wrote one commenter on X. “Get rid of these scumbags.”
Another piled on: “As an Iranian; kick out Mamdani from office. He is very dangerous for USA and the rest of the world.”
“Amen. Stand for American Values or go stand on the line for the next plane out,” a third wrote. “He is a disgrace and should be removed. America for Americans.”
The mayor’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
