Sabrina Carpenter has successfully secured a restraining order against an unfamiliar individual who she alleges has persistently appeared at her doorstep without prior invitation—returning even within a day after being taken into custody.
According to legal documents accessed by The Daily Mail, Carpenter detailed three separate occasions when 31-year-old William Applegate showed up at her residence, asserting that he had been stalking her for at least a month before making his initial appearance.
Applegate allegedly trespassed onto a neighbor’s property to bypass Carpenter’s home security system during his first visit, claiming that he was a personal acquaintance of the singer and was anticipated by her.
“His approach appeared intentional, calculated, and aggressive, which I find extremely unsettling,” Carpenter noted in the filing, recounting how he reportedly managed to reach her front door on May 23.
Carpenter further described how Applegate allegedly grabbed the handle of her front door, attempting to break in without any form of invitation, consent, or permission. Following this, he knocked and then rang the doorbell.
Applegate was ‘physically removed’ by a member of Carpenter’s private security team but ‘defiantly refused’ to follow orders to leave the property.

‘He then fabricated the outrageous and entirely false claim that he personally knew me and that I was expecting him. This is a complete lie,’ she said.Â
Applegate allegedly insisted on remaining at her front door and ‘physically resisted’ Carpenter’s security until he was ‘ultimately arrested’ by the Los Angeles Police Department. Â
Applegate then allegedly returned to Carpenter’s residence less than 24 hours after his arrest. Â
‘Shockingly, less than twenty-four (24) hours after his arrest, Applegate returned to my home on May 24, 2026,’ she wrote.Â
Carpenter claimed she was informed that Applegate ‘loitered in the immediate vicinity of my residence for approximately two (2) hours’ in his car.Â
She claimed he sat in his reclined seat, ‘watching and waiting’, before driving his car closer to her driveway ‘in a clear act of surveillance and harassment.’Â
‘A private security guard assigned to my residence was forced to make direct contact with Applegate before Applegate would finally depart from in front of my property,’ she said.Â
Applegate allegedly returned for a third time the following day and ‘remained’ until the police turned up.Â
TMZ reports that Carpenter’s legal team filed a petition for a restraining order against William Applegate, age 31, on Friday
In documents obtained by The Daily Mail, Carpenter described three alleged visits 31-year-old William Applegate made to her home and claimed he had been stalking her for at least a month by the time he first made contact
‘Just one day later, on May 25, 2026, Applegate appeared at my residence yet again. He parked his vehicle near my pedestrian gate and sat stationary in his vehicle, conducting what can only be described as deliberate surveillance of my movements and my home.
‘Applegate remained in position until LAPD once again responded to the scene,’ she wrote.Â
Carpenter’s security team concluded that Applegate was exhibiting ‘stalking behavior’ as early as April 20, more than a month since he first turned up at her home.
‘Upon investigation, my private security team has determined that Applegate’s stalking behavior did not begin on May 23, 2026 but that it had been ongoing since at least approximately April 20, 2026.
‘For over a month, Applegate and/or his vehicle were observed in the vicinity of my residence. Initially, he maintained a greater distance, which is why direct contact was not made at the time.’
‘However, Applegate’s conduct has followed a clear and deeply troubling escalation pattern as he has progressively moved closer and closer to my home, ultimately culminating in the violent and aggressive trespass of May 23, 2026.

‘This is not the behavior of someone who stumbled upon my property by accident. This is intentional stalking and surveillance directed at me and my residence.
Photos of a man standing at Carpenter’s front door were also in the filing.Â
‘William Applegate is a complete stranger to me. I have never met him or communicated with him in any way. I have no desire to meet him or communicate with him,’ Carpenter said in her declaration.Â
Carpenter also sought protection for her sister Sarah and her sister’s boyfriend George as they all resided at the house with her.  Â
‘The totality of Applegate’s conduct has caused me significant and ongoing fear for my personal safety and the safety of all individuals residing in my home. Applegate has repeatedly and willfully violated the sanctity and security of my private residence.
‘His act of physically attempting to open and enter my front door, without invitation, consent, or any lawful basis is among the most disturbing violations of personal safety and privacy I have ever experienced. His delusional insistence that he knows me and was expected by me is indicative of a dangerous, delusional, and irrational fixation on me. His pattern of stalking, trespassing, and surveillance has caused me severe and ongoing emotional distress, and I am in fear what he may do if he is not restrained by this Court.’
A hearing to decide if the temporary restraining order will be made permanent has been scheduled for later this month, according to TMZ.Â
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Carpenter but have not yet heard back.
