SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — An official with the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office confirmed to affiliate KRON4 that it is investigating a report of three individuals claiming to be Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) employees who attempted to enter offices in San Francisco City Hall on Friday.

According to the official, at 12 p.m., three men wearing DOGE shirts and MAGA hats entered various offices in City Hall, demanding that employees turn over digital information related to alleged wasteful government spending and fraud.

The employees refused their requests and called San Francisco sheriff’s deputies.

The official confirmed that deputies immediately responded, but the individuals had already fled the building. The incident remains under investigation.

The San Francisco Sheriff’s Office (SFSO) said it is reviewing surveillance footage to pursue leads.

“We do not believe the individuals requesting access to City files were representatives from DOGE,” said Tara Moriarty of the SFSO in a statement to KRON4 News.
