In Florida, detectives are actively seeking a group of teenagers whose late-night escapade has left a golf course in disarray, marred by deep tire marks and resulting in costly damages. The incident has drawn significant attention as authorities work to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.
The chaotic scene unfolded at the Weston Hills Golf Course on Saturday, April 18, at approximately 7:17 p.m., according to reports from the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Upon responding to calls about suspicious behavior, deputies discovered the course’s greens severely damaged. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing several juveniles recklessly maneuvering motorized bikes and a golf cart across the course, causing extensive harm to the well-maintained grounds.
A video released by local authorities highlights the extent of the disruption, allegedly capturing the teenagers navigating through the golf course with little regard for the property. Officials have estimated the repair costs to be in the thousands.
The footage, taken by a witness, vividly shows the teenagers engaged in what police have termed criminal mischief. At least four individuals are seen riding motorized bikes, while others are spotted driving a golf cart over the greens, further damaging the landscape, as noted by the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
According to the witness, the teens were seen accelerating and then stopping abruptly, skidding across the greens and leaving visible marks.
At least four teens are seen riding the motorized bikes across the course, while several others are seen driving a golf cart directly on the greens, an area strictly off-limits due to the risk of damage.
Authorities said the behavior caused approximately $3,000 in damage, based on an initial assessment by golf course staff.
The Weston Hills Golf Course, a well-known facility in the area, features two 18-hole championship courses and covers over 300 acres of land.
