AIKEN, S.C. () – The Aiken Symphony is bringing the magic of music to local schools through its outreach initiative, “Symphony Inspires!” The program concluded its season on Monday with a captivating session at Aiken Prep.
This inspiring event showcased the remarkable talents of Japanese violinist Risa Hokamura. Reflecting on the experience, Hokamura expressed her delight, saying, “The students’ engagement was incredible. Their insightful questions and enthusiasm for music were unexpected and enlightening.”
Brody McLaughlin, Mead Hall School’s Band Director, praised Hokamura’s performance, noting, “She delivered an exceptional performance with challenging pieces, motivating students by demonstrating the dedication required for a career in music. It’s important for them to see that music can be a professional pursuit, not just through teaching but also through performance.”
Throughout the season, the program’s talented soloists have visited various classrooms across Aiken County, enriching the students’ musical education.
