Tragic 911 Call Captures Influencer’s Last Words Before Fatal Shooting by Husband

Tragically, a chilling 911 call recorded the heart-wrenching screams and cries of an influencer moments before she and her estranged husband were discovered dead by police, as highlighted in a recent report.

Authorities revealed that Sara Gilson, age 43, faced a tragic end at the hands of her husband, 47-year-old Jeremiah ‘Shawn’ Duffey. He forcefully entered her residence in Owasso, Oklahoma, on Thursday, and fatally shot her.

This devastating murder-suicide happened just days after Gilson had participated in the viral ‘Netflix documentary’ social media trend. In this trend, users pretend to partake in candid interview-style videos, discussing both serious and light-hearted topics.

In her own impactful post, Gilson boldly called out Duffey, stating: ‘Preparing for when Netflix drops a documentary about my soon to be ex-husband who I just found out is a pedophile.’ Accompanying her post, the mother of two included a telling caption: ‘I wish I was joking.’

Just after 11:15pm on the fateful night, Gilson’s minor son reached out to a 911 dispatcher, reporting the horrifying news, ‘his stepfather had shot his mother,’ according to a report from KTUL.

As he said that, the dispatcher said they heard a woman screaming and weeping. They also recounted hearing a gunshot during the phone call, the outlet stated.

Gilson had recently filed a protective order against Duffey and was in court last month explaining to a judge why she wanted it to remain, according to court documents reviewed by The Oklahoman.

An unidentified woman named Duffey in a separate order on the same day, alleging that he was caught kissing and touching her 15-year-old daughter, who is also a player on the youth basketball team he coaches, per the report.

The minor’s mother stated that Duffey was spotted in the act by another coach while he was alone with her child, the protective order stated.

The teenage girl also told her mother that Duffey had been sending her inappropriate messages and that he also invited her to his hotel room during a tournament trip, where he offered to give her money ‘to keep her quiet,’ the report said.

The girl’s mother also reported the alleged actions to the Owasso Police Department, according to the outlet. It is unclear if he was the subject of an investigation before his death.

Duffey was never arrested for the alleged incident or charged with any crime.

Gilson’s protective order also mentioned those allegations against her estranged partner, and that he ‘proceeded to threaten suicide and went on the run’ while armed with a firearm, the report detailed.

According to the outlet, Gilson filed for two protective orders against Duffey in 2021, but they were dismissed after she failed to appear at a hearing.

In Gilson’s most recent protective order, a judge ordered Duffey out of their home and ordered him to stay at least 100 yards away from her, according to People.

The protective order was then extended on June 23, through August 24.

Gilson had filed a protective order against Duffey in June. An unidentified woman named Duffey in a separate order on the same day, alleging that he was caught kissing and touching her 15-year-old daughter, who is also a player on the youth basketball team he coaches, per the report

After Gilson shared her pointed TikTok exposing her husband’s alleged crimes, she posted two more videos to her page alluding to her ordeal before she was killed.

In one video, she showed herself with a friend on a boat, captioned: ‘Everyone talks about romantic love, but no one talks about how female friendships literally save your life.’

She then shared another video of herself on a yacht, captioned: ‘May whatever the f*** that was never find me again.’

Days after that final post, Duffey broke into Gilson’s home and shot her dead before turning the gun on himself, police said.

Duffey’s own TikTok account also included crude clips about his personal life, including one of him coughing with the caption: ‘Ur sick if you like to pull hair and bite.’

In another video, he used the caption: ‘Apparently every girl’s ex was toxic, controlling, and manipulative.’

A GoFundMe page has since been set up for Gilson’s two children, where her loved ones described her sudden death as ‘unimaginable’.

‘Her sudden and heartbreaking loss has left an entire community grieving, but the greatest loss is felt by her two precious children, who must now face life without their loving mother,’ the fundraiser read.

‘Her children were the center of her world, and everything she did was for them. She loved them fiercely, worked hard to provide for them, and dreamed of giving them the best life possible.’

As of Sunday afternoon, nearly $27,000 had been raised for the grieving family.
