Tragic Discovery: Six Migrants, Including Teen, Found Deceased in Shipping Container Near Southern Border

In a tragic discovery along the Texas-Mexico border, authorities revealed on Monday that six undocumented immigrants were found dead inside a shipping container. Officials are suggesting that the intense heat likely led to their demise.

The Webb County Medical Examiner’s Office reported that the deceased included three men, one woman, and a 14-year-old boy, all found at the Union Pacific Railyard in North Laredo.

While five of the six individuals have been identified, the identity of the sixth victim remains unknown.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the victims were from Mexico and Honduras.

Police at scene

Authorities suspect that hypothermia, a result of extreme heat, played a significant role in their deaths.

After initial examinations, authorities determined the 29-year-old woman died of hyperthermia.

While formal medical exams for the remaining five people are pending, officials said it is “highly probable” hyperthermia was the cause of death for the entire group.
