A contractor tragically lost his life on Thursday following a stabbing incident inside the Anheuser-Busch facility located on Jacksonville’s Northside, the local sheriff’s office confirmed.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A confrontation between two contractors working at the Anheuser-Busch plant on Jacksonville’s Northside escalated into a fatal stabbing on Thursday afternoon, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities were called to the scene on Busch Drive at approximately 4:37 p.m., following reports of a stabbing incident, as stated by the JSO.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a man, estimated to be in his mid-20s, suffering from a stab wound to the chest. The individual was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The individuals involved in the altercation were both contractors at Anheuser-Busch and reportedly engaged in an argument that culminated in the stabbing, according to the sheriff’s office.
An older man, possibly in his 40s, is believed to be the suspect and was detained uninjured, Sgt. Highfill with JSO said Thursday night. Multiple witnesses were also detained for interviews.
Sgt. Highfill said workplace violence of this level is rare here in Jacksonville, in his experience.
