Two Amazon employees, including a woman whose family called her an “innocent bystander,” were wounded in a late-night shooting outside a Brooklyn facility over the weekend, police and law-enforcement sources said.
The 25-year-old woman was shot in the chest, while a 23-year-old man suffered a shoulder wound at about 11:15 p.m. outside the Amazon Fulfillment Center on Bay Street near Hicks Street in Red Hook, police said.
Both injured workers were taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where they were reported to be in stable condition, according to police.
The woman, identified by her loved ones as Dominique Dunlap, had reportedly been returning to the facility after stopping at a deli when the shooting occurred, law-enforcement sources said.
Dunlap was “an innocent bystander [who] caught a bullet not meant for her” and experienced “significant blood loss,” according to a fundraising page created on her behalf.

“Although we are incredibly grateful that she survived, the bullet remains lodged in her body, and she now faces a difficult road to physical and emotional recovery,” her family wrote.
The wounded male employee had been escorting his girlfriend, who also works for Amazon, from a bus stop to the building when gunfire erupted, sources said.
His girlfriend was not injured, according to the sources.
Police said two male suspects escaped in a white sedan.
Authorities have not determined what prompted the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing.
