The US military has carried out “self-defense strikes” on Qeshm Island, a strategically important site where Iran is reportedly storing ballistic missiles. These weapons have been used in ongoing assaults on Kuwait and Bahrain, as reported by US Central Command (CENTCOM).

In a coordinated action, American forces intercepted and neutralized several Iranian missiles and drones during the operation on Qeshm Island, CENTCOM revealed on Tuesday evening.

Iran recently launched at least five missiles that failed to reach their targets in Gulf nations. According to CENTCOM, two of these missiles either fell short or disintegrated mid-flight, while the remaining three were successfully intercepted by US and Bahraini air defense systems.

Contradicting this account, Iranian state media claimed that three missiles successfully hit “enemy bases” in Kuwait.

In addition to the missile interceptions, CENTCOM also destroyed three attack drones aimed at civilian vessels navigating nearby waters. The US military’s strikes were directed at a military ground control facility on Qeshm Island, which is situated along the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

The US military condemned the “unwarranted Iranian aggression during the ongoing ceasefire.”

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, meanwhile, painted its attacks on Kuwait as a response to US forces’ “brazen and blatant aggression” in strikes on Qeshm Island.

It warned that Tuesday’s strikes were merely an “initial response.”

The renewed strikes came just one day after the Islamic Republic obliterated an American drone and ordered a drone strike on a US base in Kuwait.

Monday’s strikes also centered around Qeshm Island, the Iranian regime’s underground and heavily fortified “missile city.”

The firefights have only escalated since IRGC mine-laying spurred American strikes in Bandar Abbas, Iran’s primary naval station, last week.
