A disturbing incident unfolded on a New York City subway last weekend, resulting in the arrest of a 23-year-old woman on hate crime charges. The NYPD confirmed to News Media that Diana Smith, a resident of the Bronx, was apprehended following a violent encounter that was captured on video.
In the unsettling footage, Smith can be seen and heard making antisemitic remarks. She reportedly shouted, “Jews are eating kids!” at the victim, and further accused, “You’re a Jew. I can smell the kids.” These heinous comments were made in a crowded subway car, escalating into a physical confrontation.
The video captured the moment when Smith allegedly attacked the victim, delivering punches, kicks, and even choking her. As the violence unfolded, fellow passengers reacted in shock. Smith was also heard justifying her actions by saying, “It’s OK for her to eat a kid, but I can’t choke her down?”
According to the NYPD, the victim, also 23 years old, endured not only physical assault but also had some of her hair forcibly pulled out by Smith before being thrown to the ground. The brutal nature of this attack and its hateful undertones have sparked significant concern and outrage.
