Yankees’ Ryan Weathers’ No-Hitter Dream Shattered in 7th: Orioles Break the Spell!

BALTIMORE — Making a remarkable comeback after battling a severe illness, Yankees pitcher Ryan Weathers nearly etched his name in the record books during Monday night’s game at Camden Yards.

Weathers, a left-handed pitcher for the Yankees, carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning against the Baltimore Orioles. His impressive performance was interrupted only when Adley Rutschman managed a leadoff single, marking the first hit Weathers allowed after six dominant innings that included just two walks and nine strikeouts.

In his previous outing on May 2 against the Orioles, Weathers fell ill upon returning home, an ailment so severe he lost nine pounds and was forced to miss his subsequent start last Thursday.

After regaining his health, Weathers demonstrated his readiness with a bullpen session in Milwaukee on Friday, setting the stage for his strong performance on Monday.

Prior to this game, the 26-year-old pitcher had a personal best of pitching eight innings in a single game and entered the matchup with an impressive 3.03 ERA for the season.
