Joey Mcguire is an assistant head coach of Baylor University. He joined Bears in 2016 and has been associated with the university for the past years.

During his time at the university, he spent two seasons as a tight ends coach. In 2019, he was promoted to the role of the associate head coach and defensive ends coach. He further moved to outside linebacker coach in 2020.

He was a head football coach at Cedar Hill High School before his time at Baylor. Under his 14-year tenure, he led the school to 12 straight playoff appearances and three state championships.

The Texas High School inducted him into the Texas High School Coaches Association Hall of Honor in 2020. He also led Cedar Hill to the Class 5A state title, making him the 2013 Texas coach of the year.
