Chandan Jindal Ukraine – What Happened To Indian Student Killed In Ukraine?

Chandan Jindal was a medical student who was studying in Ukraine. He was enrolled at Vinnytsia National Pyrogov, Memorial Medical University, Vinnytsia Ukraine, reports Hindustan Times. He was a fourth-year student of forensic science at the university. 

He was originally from Barnala, Punjab. Jindal passed away on March 2, 2022. He is the second Indian to die in Ukraine in the past two days. 

 

 

Chandan’s age was 22 years during the time of his death. His father wrote to the Government of India and requested to make arrangements to bring back his body for the funeral. 

He was a bright student who was always among the toppers in school. He studied in Barnala till the 10th standard, and later went to Chandigarh, where he prepared for pre-medical exams. 

Bringing back bodies might be taking place through other countries as the airspace in Ukraine is shut for passenger services. 

Chandan Jindal Death Cause Identified As Ischemic Stroke

The cause of Chandan Jindal’s death is revealed to be an ischemic stroke. He was admitted to the ICU of Emergency Hospital Vinnytsia, Kyivska street 68, due to a stroke on February 2. 

 

 

Arindam Bagchi, the spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), revealed that he has some of his family members in Ukraine. On February 7, his uncle and father went to Ukraine, reports The Quint. 

The news of Chandan’s death was confirmed by the Ministry of External Affairs.

 

What Is Ischemic Stroke?

Chandan Jindal passed away after suffering an ischemic stroke. It is caused when the blood supply to the brain gets reduced or interrupted. It mainly occurs due to fatty deposits lining the vessel walls. 

Ischemic stroke prevents brain tissues from getting nutrients and oxygen. Due to this, brain cells start to die within minutes, reports Mayo Clinic.Â
