Chilukuri attended Mt. Carmel High School in San Diego, California, where he grew up. She relocated to the East Coast for college and graduated from Yale University with a bachelor’s degree in history in 2007.
As a Gates Cambridge Scholar, she studied for a Master of Philosophy degree at the University of Cambridge in 2009.
According to her biography on the program’s website, her MPhil research studied the tactics used for safeguarding printing rights in seventeenth-century England.
Furthermore, she concentrated on “the career of John Field, a printer who worked between 1642 and 1668 in London and Cambridge.”

Chilukuri claims she met Vance while both law students at Yale in a 2017 interview with NBC News. She claimed she was drawn to Vance partly because of his upbeat demeanor.
She told Megyn Kelly, “He felt really different.”
