Arrested and Charged
Gillian Sturgeon was arrested on Wednesday, August 11, in connection with an alleged domestic incident on Saturday, August 7, when police previously arrested Steven Waite, 50, in Kilwinning, Ayrshire.
“ They told me the reason they were accusing me was because I was high profile just because of who my sister is, they said it multiple times, and I had to see what they were doing.
On Wednesday, August 11, a 46-year-old woman was arrested and charged following a report made on Tuesday, August 10, of an incident that took place inside a house in Kilwinning on Saturday, August 7.
She has been released with a commitment to appear in Kilmarnock Sheriff’s Court at a later date. A full report will be sent to the prosecutor.
Both complainants have the right to a review of the tax decision.
The victim’s right to review is carried out by a prosecutor who had no prior involvement in the case.
If that does not happen, or the review is rejected, the cases will be permanently archived.

“They didn’t treat me very well, one of them treated me like a criminal. I asked him why they accused me and they told me ‘because he committed a crime’.
‘Everyone has been great and has been very supportive of me.
‘I’m relieved that my charges have been dropped, but also not relieved because I feel like I didn’t do anything to get them done in the first place.
I will continue to work and help others to have a voice and be on the lookout for the red flags that I now know I was blinded to.

A spokesman for the Crown Tax Service and the Attorney General’s Office said: ‘This matter remains alive for the purposes of the 1981 Contempt of Court Act.
“To protect any future proceedings and preserve the rights of whistleblowers, the Crown will not comment at this stage.”
A Scottish police spokesman said: “A 50-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with an incident that took place inside a house in Kilwinning on Saturday 7 August.
