Judge Accuses ICE Agents of Repeatedly Violating Man’s Rights Under Coercive Conditions

A federal judge in Nevada has sharply criticized the Trump administration for imposing excessively harsh and “coercive” conditions on the release of an immigrant who suffered torture in his home country and is now seeking asylum.

The judge’s ruling, detailed in a three-page order, marks the latest judicial challenge to the new detention policies introduced by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). These policies, which have been in effect since last summer, have faced widespread rejection from hundreds of district court judges, who oppose ICE’s attempts to indefinitely detain immigrants through reclassification.

In this particular case, Kevin Eliel Aguirre Solis, the petitioner, had already persuaded U.S. District Judge Richard Franklin Boulware II, appointed by Barack Obama, to order his “immediate release from custody” due to violations of his due process rights by the government.

Despite Aguirre Solis’s release, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been found by the court to have engaged in inappropriate conduct, prompting the latest stringent ruling.

Aguirre Solis entered the United States in 2020, escaping political persecution and torture at the hands of Nicaraguan authorities. His actions, which included participating in peaceful protests against the government’s proposed changes to the national pension system, were highlighted in an earlier court order.

While the petitioner lived in the United States, he followed the law, the court explained – aside from a parking ticket and a speeding ticket. But then a third interaction with law enforcement dovetailed with the new ICE policy of “mandatory detention.”

“In June of 2025, the North Las Vegas police pulled Petitioner over while he was driving,” the court explains. “He was accused of driving under the influence because he was shaking and sweating, a reaction that is triggered whenever he sees police due to his prior torture by Nicaraguan authorities. He was charged with four misdemeanors for driving under the influence, headlamps not illuminated, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, and failure to provide proof of insurance.”

And though he posted bond on the charges, Aguirre Solis was not released from custody, the judge said, because “ICE knowingly and unlawfully commenced expedited removal proceedings.”

Attorneys for the petitioner filed a petition for the writ of habeas corpus in January – which Boulware quickly granted.

In his order explaining the release decision, the judge notes the case “is one of a rapidly growing number before this Court.” And, in a footnote, further explains: “This Court has already granted habeas petitioners relief—both preliminary and on the merits—in well over sixty similar challenges and counting.”

In that February order, the court offered a severe account of the government’s efforts to rewrite the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) and how those efforts were applied to Aguirre Solis.

“He was erroneously placed in expedited removal proceedings by Respondents despite their acknowledgement that he has been present in the country since 2020, and thus cannot, by statute, be deprived of the procedural protections of standard removal proceedings,” the release order reads. “The Court thus grants the Petition and orders Respondents to immediately release him from detention on his own recognizance.”

The release order angrily recalls facts of the petitioner’s detention:

While in ICE custody, he was coerced to sign a document he could not understand, deprived of his right to speak to his counsel, placed in inhumane conditions, and nearly illegally removed from the U.S. by ICE agents despite, as Respondents concede, ICE having no authority to remove him. This caused him severe mental distress as a survivor of persecution and torture by Nicaraguan authorities who struggles with trauma related mental health symptoms. He has been subjected to nearly eight months of arbitrary detention while Respondents have never articulated— either in immigration court proceedings or in this Court—any individualized justification to continue to detain him.

But after the government was forced to release Aguirre Solis, ICE officials have continued to insist on strict control over his movements, the petitioner’s attorneys explained in a motion to reopen the case.

“Despite the Court’s Order requiring Petitioner’s release on personal recognizance, ICE and DHS unilaterally imposed release conditions that constitute a significant constraint on Petitioner’s liberty, including ‘enrollment and successful participation in an Alternatives to Detention (ATD) program as designated by the U.S.’; 24/7 electronic surveillance with an ankle monitor, a curfew, and appearances at ICE offices every two weeks,” the order notes. “ICE asserts authority to unilaterally arrest and re-detain Petitioner, without a pre-deprivation hearing, if he violates any of these restrictive conditions.”

In response to that motion filed earlier this month, the court set an expedited briefing schedule and the Department of Justice has been doubly mum, Boulware explains. First, the government “filed no opposition” and second, the DOJ “has thus far not contested the factual assertions of Petitioner which the Court adopts here.”

In other words, the Trump administration’s lack of attention to the case have made the court’s decisions something of an easy call.

To that end, Boulware slammed ICE and DHS for their continued efforts to unconstitutionally harass Aguirre Solis.

“Disturbingly, this Court’s Order apparently did not deter ICE from continuing to egregiously violate Petitioner’s rights, despite never asserting a legitimate interest in depriving him of his liberty,” the judge lectures.

From the latest order, at length:

The Court now clarifies that personal recognizance means release without conditions during the pendency of his removal proceedings, other than that Petitioner is required to appear for any future hearings scheduled in those proceedings. The Court further finds these release conditions, coupled with the threat of nonjudicial rearrest and re-detention by ICE, which Federal Respondents unilaterally imposed despite never presenting evidence or argument that Petitioner was a flight risk or dangerous, violate this Court’s Order, and constitute significant constraints on Petitioner’s liberty.

“The government has no constitutionally recognized justification for these conditions—and the circumstances here suggest ICE is wielding these coercive conditions to terrorize Petitioner into abdicating his rights,” Boulware goes on.

The order vacates all the current release conditions on Aguirre Solis, enjoins ICE from imposing any release conditions without the judge’s express consent, mandates the removal of the petitioner’s ankle monitor, and directs the filing of a joint status report by March 27.

Mother Seeks Legal Action Following After-School Assault on 12-Year-Old Daughter

Exclusive: A Sydney mother is demanding justice for her 12-year-old daughter, urging legal action against the alleged perpetrators of a brutal bullying incident captured in distressing videos.

The young girl was reportedly enticed to a local shopping center by a classmate after school hours. Once there, she became the target of a vicious assault, witnessed and recorded by dozens of bystanders.

“She punched me in the back of my head. I fell to the ground, and that’s when she stomped on my head,” the victim recounted in an interview with 9News.

The attack left her with a black eye, a concussion, and injuries to her scalp from her earrings, along with several scratches on her body.

Following the incident, the girl had to be hospitalized due to her severe injuries, which included a blackened eye and significant head trauma.

“When I got there I saw my daughter on the floor,” the girl’s mother said, breaking down in tears.

“Sorry. She was unconscious on the floor and she wasn’t moving.”

Her mother claims teachers at the school have told her the bully won’t be punished because the attack didn’t happen on school grounds.

She wants the same for her daughter’s bully.

“Those girls that did that to her got arrested and charged for their actions and I believe this should happen for my daughter,” the Sydney mother said.

The young girl has spoken with detectives at the Lake Illawara police station.

She’s now taking time off school as she continues to recover from her injuries.

Her mother says she’s struggled to sleep and has suffered nightmares since the attack.

Police are investigating the matter.

Japan Reacts with Shock as Trump Cites Pearl Harbor in Justifying Iran Conflict

In Tokyo, the topic of Japan’s 1941 surprise attack on Pearl Harbor is usually approached with caution by U.S. and Japanese officials, who choose their words carefully. However, President Donald Trump’s recent offhand reference to the World War II assault, used to justify his secrecy regarding military actions in Iran, caused a stir of embarrassment and confusion in Japan on Saturday.

The situation was further complicated by the presence of Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, who sat uneasily beside Trump during his remarks.

This reaction stems partly from Japan’s reliance on the United States for security and economic support, given America’s status as Japan’s primary ally in the region. Ensuring a strong relationship with the U.S. is crucial for Japan, which is why Takaichi was visiting Washington.

Additionally, the incident highlights the ongoing sensitivity surrounding Japan’s wartime actions, a subject that remains politically charged even eight decades after World War II concluded.

Japanese leaders, including Takaichi, have reiterated that Japan has sufficiently apologized for its wartime conduct. Recently, Takaichi has suggested she might visit Tokyo’s contentious Yasukuni Shrine, where several war criminals are among the 2.5 million honored war dead, further fueling debate.

It is, however, somewhat startling for Japan to see these history questions spill over into a White House summit.

On Thursday, when asked by a Japanese reporter why he didn’t tell allies in Europe and Asia ahead of the U.S. attack on Iran, Trump cited Pearl Harbor to defend his decision, saying, ‘Who knows better about surprise than Japan? Why didn’t you tell me about Pearl Harbor, OK?”

The liberal leaning Asahi newspaper said in an editorial Saturday that Trump’s comments “should not be overlooked.”

“Making such a remark to justify a sneak attack and boast about its outcome is a piece of nonsense that ignores lessons from history,” Asahi said.

Claims of rudeness

Social media reaction has ranged from accusations of ignorance and rudeness by the U.S. president to claims that he didn’t see Japan as an equal partner. There were calls for Japan to protest what Trump said.

Tsuneo Watanabe, a senior fellow at the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, said in an online opinion piece published in the Nikkei newspaper Saturday that the comment signaled that Trump was “not bound by existing American common sense.”

“I get the impression that the comment was intended to bring the Japanese reporter (who asked the question) or Ms. Takaichi into complicity in order to justify his ‘sneak attack’ on Iran during diplomatic negotiations and without telling allied countries,” Watanabe said.

There’s also a feeling that an unspoken understanding exists between U.S. and Japanese leaders to tread carefully on the subject. Both sides need each other, with Washington relying on Japan to host 50,000 troops and an array of powerful hi-tech weapons, and Japan relying on the U.S. nuclear umbrella to deter hostile, nuclear-armed neighbors.

Japan’s post-World War II constitution bans the use of force except for its self-defense, but Takaichi and other officials are now seeking to expand the military’s role.

When it comes to U.S.-Japan reconciliation, many here look to the example of former leaders Barack Obama and Shinzo Abe, who in 2016 paid tribute together at the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor and at the Hiroshima Peace Park.

Mixed reaction for Japan’s leader

Takaichi, a hard-line conservative, was praised for not reacting to the comments by Trump, letting them pass with a roll of her eyes and a glance at her ministers seated nearby.

After all, the goal of her summit was to deepen ties with her most important ally, not debate World War II. She arrived shortly after Trump suggested that Japan was among the nations that did not quickly join his call to help protect the Strait of Hormuz.

Some, however, criticized Takaichi for not speaking up.

Hitoshi Tanaka, a former diplomat and a special adviser at the Japan Research Institute think tank, wrote on X that he felt embarrassed to see Takaichi flattering Trump.

“As national leaders, they are equals. … To make an equal relationship is not to flatter,” he said. “Just doing what pleases Trump and calling it a success if you are not hurt is too sad.”

Reporter criticized

There was initial blame on social media of the Japanese reporter who asked the question that prompted Trump’s Pearl Harbor comment.

The reporter, Morio Chijiiwa with TV Asahi, later said on a talk show that he asked the question to represent the feelings of Japanese who are not happy about Trump’s one-sided attack on Iran, and because other countries, including Japan, are being asked to help out.

“So that’s why I asked the question. I was meaning to say, Why didn’t you tell us, why are you troubling us?” he said. “Then President Trump hit back with the Pearl Harbor attack. … I found it extremely awkward for him to change the subject.”

Junji Miyako, 53, said Takaichi flattering Trump felt more condescending to him than the President’s Pearl Harbor remark.

“I was so frustrated to see Takaichi didn’t even say anything to Trump to stop the war,” he said. “I think Trump’s Pearl Harbor comment was stupid, but to me the war he started is a much bigger problem.”

U.S. Federal Court Convicts Ex-Assad Regime Prison Chief of Torture in Landmark Case

0

An ex-Syrian prison official has been found guilty by a U.S. federal jury in Los Angeles of torture and immigration fraud charges. The court determined that he had both supervised and occasionally directly inflicted severe abuse on prisoners during the regime of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Samir Ousman Alsheikh, a former brigadier general and the head of Damascus Central Prison, commonly referred to as Adra Prison, was convicted after a nine-day trial. The charges included conspiracy to commit torture, immigration-related fraud, and three counts of torture, as stated by the Justice Department.

This case represents a significant milestone in the pursuit of justice, as Alsheikh is the first official from Assad’s era to be tried and convicted in a U.S. federal court.

According to prosecutors, the 73-year-old orchestrated and managed the torture of political detainees between 2005 and 2008. The abuses involved severe beatings, suspending prisoners from ceilings, and utilizing devices like the “Magic Carpet,” which contorted victims’ bodies to cause intense pain.

In a photo provided by the U.S. Department of Justice, former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is seen alongside Samir Ousman Alsheikh, dated around July 25, 2011, when Assad appointed Alsheikh as the governor of Deir ez-Zor.

He entered the United States in 2020 after lying about his past on his visa application and later attempted to become a U.S. citizen, authorities said.

Alsheikh, who was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport in 2024 as he attempted to board a one-way flight to Beirut, faces up to 20 years in prison for each torture-related count when he is sentenced at a later date.

“Samir Ousman Alsheikh ordered, directed, and directly participated in heinous acts of torture designed to inflict excruciating mental and physical pain with the goal of punishing and silencing political dissent,” said Tysen Duva, assistant attorney general for the Justice Department’s criminal division in a statement.

“For many years, he evaded responsibility for his crimes in Syria, including by lying to U.S. immigration authorities in order to reside in the U.S. with the hope of obtaining citizenship. Thanks to the courage and perseverance of the victims and the dedication of Department of Justice prosecutors, along with their law enforcement partners, justice has prevailed, and Alsheikh can no longer run from his past.”

According to a federal criminal complaint filed in July 2024, Alsheikh was an associate of Maher al-Assad, the younger brother of Bashar al-Assad, who led the Syrian military’s elite Fourth Division.

He was appointed by Assad in 2011 as governor of Deir ez-Zor after anti-government protests that spread across the country during the Arab Spring.

The Syrian Emergency Task Force (SETF), a Washington-based advocacy group, assisted investigators in bringing the former regime official to justice. The organization first identified Alsheikh in Los Angeles through a tip and conducted its own verification using open-source material and leaked Syrian government data.

It then alerted U.S. authorities and worked with the FBI and Justice Department to help build the case, including connecting investigators with key witnesses who testified about abuses at Adra Prison. According to SETF, it pushed for torture charges rather than solely immigration violations to ensure broader accountability.

Mamoun al-Homsi, a former independent member of the Syrian Parliament, was arrested in 2001 for demanding democratic reforms and spent five years in Adra Prison. He told Fox News Digital in an interview, through a translator, that Alsheikh stood out from other prison directors for his brutality.

Al-Homsi said that while previous prison heads largely adhered to prison rules and did not target detainees for their political views, Alsheikh’s arrival in 2005 marked a shift.

“The toughest torture for me wasn’t anything done to me physically as much as it was what was done to others on my behalf,” said al-Homsi.

SETF Executive Director Mouaz Moustafa, who attended the trial, told Fox News Digital that testimony revealed Alsheikh ordered another prisoner, Khaled Abdul Malek, to poison al-Homsi.

“Khaled Abdul Malek had come so close to Mamoun al-Homsi, so he told him about this plan and told him don’t eat anything from anyone to the point where Mamoun al-Homsi would go to the trash if there was any and wash whatever is left,” Moustafa said.

Malek refused Alsheikh’s demand to poison the prominent political figure, leading to him being placed in Wing 13, a notorious part of the prison where people were tortured.

“Khaled Malik then had his back broken,” Moustafa said, adding that he arrived in court with a cane and could barely walk.

Al-Homsi said he survived on olive pits and lost more than 60 pounds. He was released in 2006 and later fled to Canada.

The former parliament member told Fox News Digital the verdict sends a message that former regime officials cannot evade accountability, even if they leave Syria and attempt to rebuild their lives abroad.

Al-Homsi called the verdict a signal that justice, though long delayed, is finally taking hold, an outcome he described as essential for the future of a free Syria.

Open Heaven 19 March 2026 – God Hates Hypocrisy

Open Heaven 19 March 2026 Thursday Daily Devotional By Pastor E. A. Adeboye – God Hates Hypocrisy

Open Heaven 19 March 2026 TOPIC – God Hates Hypocrisy

MEMORISE: He also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him. – Job 13:16 (KJV)

READ: Acts 5:1-11(KJV)

1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,

2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.

7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.

8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.

9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Judges 17-19

Open Heaven 19 March 2026 MESSAGE

In Mark 11:12-20, the Bible tells us about a fig tree that failed to produce fruit for Jesus to eat when He was hungry. Usually, when figs are in season, fig trees give a sign by producing many leaves, signalling that there are fruits on them. The fig tree in this passage, however, had leaves but no fruit – it was a show of hypocrisy. It is also a show of hypocrisy when a minister leads prayer or worship in church and puts up an impressive physical performance but hardly prays or worships in private. A preacher once said that some believers pretend to be very strong in the Lord when they have just failed Him.

In Job 8:13, the Bible says that the hope of hypocrites will perish. Today’s memory verse also tells us that God doesn’t want hypocrites in His presence – this is a serious warning to believers. Job 15:34 says that the congregation of hypocrites will be barren, and Job 20:5 says that the joy of a hypocrite will not last because it is for a moment. One of the passages in the Bible that challenged me as a young Christian is the story of Ananias and Sapphira, which is today’s Bible reading. The couple sold a piece of land, kept a part of the money, lied to Peter about it, and this cost them their lives. I thought their punishment was harsh; the land and the money were theirs, after all. However, the issue was that Ananias and Sapphira attempted to deceive the church. God hates lies, and no liar will go to heaven (Revelation 21:8). As I studied the couple’s story, I discovered that God punished them because they were hypocrites.

Many believers fall into the trap of hypocrisy when they fail to give accurate reports of things that are entrusted into their care. Even some pastors are known to inflate their church’s attendance records, and when they are asked how the church is doing, they say, “Great”. I believe that a fellow is not doing great until the person doubles what the Lord has placed in his or her hand, as we see in the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30).

Beloved, when you pretend to be who you are not just because you want to look good in the eyes of the people around you, you are only deceiving yourself. Rather, seek God’s face to help you to become who He wants you to be.

Open Heaven 19 March 2026 KEY POINT

Hypocrisy attracts God’s anger. Avoid it.

Open Heaven 19 March 2026 HYMN 31 – Yield Not To Temptation

1 Yield not to temptation, for yielding is sin;
Each vict’ry will help you some other to win;
Fight manfully onward, dark passions subdue;
Look ever to Jesus, He will carry you through.

Refrain:
Ask the Savior to help you,
Comfort, strengthen, and keep you;
He is willing to aid you,
He will carry you through.

2 Shun evil companions, bad language disdain,
God’s name hold in rev’rence, nor take it in vain;
Be thoughtful and earnest, kindhearted and true;
Look ever to Jesus, He will carry you through.

3 To him that o’ercometh, God giveth a crown,
Through faith we will conquer, though often cast down;
He who is our Savior, our strength will renew;
Look ever to Jesus, He will carry you through.

DCLM Daily Manna 20 March 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Reward For Sacrificial Service

TOPIC: Reward For Sacrificial Service (DCLM Daily Manna 20 March 2026)

KEY VERSE: And he shall cleave it with the wings thereof, but shall not divide it asunder: and the priest shall burn it upon the altar, upon the wood that is upon the fire: it is a burnt-sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD – Leviticus 1:17

TEXT: Leviticus 1:10-17 (KJV)

10 And if his offering be of the flocks, namely, of the sheep, or of the goats, for a burnt sacrifice; he shall bring it a male without blemish.

11 And he shall kill it on the side of the altar northward before the Lord: and the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall sprinkle his blood round about upon the altar.

12 And he shall cut it into his pieces, with his head and his fat: and the priest shall lay them in order on the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar:

13 But he shall wash the inwards and the legs with water: and the priest shall bring it all, and burn it upon the altar: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.

14 And if the burnt sacrifice for his offering to the Lord be of fowls, then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves, or of young pigeons.

15 And the priest shall bring it unto the altar, and wring off his head, and burn it on the altar; and the blood thereof shall be wrung out at the side of the altar:

16 And he shall pluck away his crop with his feathers, and cast it beside the altar on the east part, by the place of the ashes:

17 And he shall cleave it with the wings thereof, but shall not divide it asunder: and the priest shall burn it upon the altar, upon the wood that is upon the fire: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

The story of Eric Liddell, often captioned by some as “Sacrificing Fame for Faith”, is both intriguing and instructive. At the 1924 Olympics in Paris, France, Eric Liddell, known as the“Flying Scotsman,” was favoured to win the 100-meter race. However, he refused to compete because the race was scheduled on a Sunday, a day he dedicated to worship God. He considered the sacredness of that holy day. He decided to forgo the anticipated glamour and fame that would have been ascribed to him and instead, he competed in the 400-meter race, which was not his specialty. Unexpectedly and to the surprise of everyone, he won gold in the new race.

Many have come to agree that Liddell’s decision to honour God over personal glory was largely responsible for the feat which illustrates the key element in our text. The passage underlines the need to offer to God the best of our talent and treasures as exemplified in the story of Liddell who exalted the honour of God over earthly achievements, thus illustrating the demand for holistic consecration required in acceptable sacrifices. The children of Israel were instructed at that time to comply with divine instructions enshrined in the ceremonial laws on acceptable instruments and articles for sacrifice and burnt offerings. Both the priests and the offerers were expected to observe and comply with these laws and practices, lest they incur divine displeasure.

Today, God still expects His children to offer consecrated sacrifice, holy and wholesome dedication, and acceptable service unto Him. Paul the apostle drives this message home very succinctly in Romans 12verse 1: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God,which is your reasonable service. What type of service are you offering to the Lord? Does it cost you anything? Will it attract divine commendation or condemnation?

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
The quality of your service to God reflects the quality of your love for Him.

Rhapsody Of Realities 20 March 2026: Boldness Is Of The Spirit

Rhapsody Of Realities 20 March 2026 By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome (Christ Embassy): Boldness Is Of The Spirit

TOPIC: Boldness Is Of The Spirit (Rhapsody of Realities 20 March 2026)

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18).

Rhapsody Of Realities For Today’s MESSAGE:

Someone once asked, “How do I develop the boldness or courage to minister the Gospel?” The answer is simple: be filled with the Spirit. If you’re filled with the Holy Spirit, you’ll be bold. In the book of Acts, we see that the Apostles were emboldened by the Spirit. Their confidence wasn’t from human ability but from being filled with the Spirit.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 14:4, “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.” The word “edifieth” also means emboldens. The one who speaks in tongues emboldens himself. The more you pray in tongues, the more your spirit is stirred in the Holy Ghost, and the bolder you become.

Think of Simon Peter; before he received the Holy Spirit, he was timid. At the crucifixion, when the Lord was arrested, Peter denied even knowing Him. He was called Simon, a reed, shaken by the wind. But after he received the Holy Spirit, everything changed. On the day of Pentecost, filled with the Spirit, he stood before a massive crowd and boldly proclaimed Christ. The timid Simon had become Peter the Rock, empowered by the Holy Ghost.

The same Spirit is in you today. Ephesians 5:18 instructs us to be continually filled with the Spirit and also tells us how: “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God” (Ephesians 5:19-21).

When you pray in tongues often, sing spiritual songs, and give thanks always, you stay full of the Spirit. And when you’re full of the Spirit, boldness is natural. You’ll find yourself confidently preaching, teaching, and sharing the Word of God anywhere and with anyone. That boldness is of the Spirit.

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for the Holy Spirit who dwells in me and fills me with boldness to preach the Gospel and manifest your righteousness at all times. I’m full of power by the Holy Spirit, strengthened with might in my inner man and invigorated with miracle-working ability as I declare your Word everywhere, leading many to salvation, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Discover the Top-Rated National Park in Your State!

0

In 2025, America’s national parks were buzzing with activity, drawing over 323 million recreational visits, marking it as the sixth-highest year on record for park attendance.

Data just released highlights that over 40 park units, all under the stewardship of the National Park Service, attracted more than 2.2 million visitors each. Among these, three parks stood out, each drawing over 10 million visits.

While many can name some of the most frequented national parks across the United States, how does your own state rank in terms of park popularity?

Fortunately, the National Park Service provides detailed visitation statistics, shedding light on this very question.

It’s no surprise that California’s national parks led the nation in visits in 2025, with over 39 million people exploring its natural wonders. A significant portion of these visits—more than a third—were to the state’s most popular site, the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. This iconic park alone welcomed 15.7 million visitors, making it the second-most visited national site in the country that year.

California’s other heavy hitters, like Yosemite and Joshua Tree national parks, helped propel it to the top, edging out the District of Columbia by about 2 million visits.

Alternatively, the state with the fewest national park visits last year was New Hampshire. Only Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park reports visitation numbers, and its roughly 28,000 visits in 2025 come in well below others on the list.

The interactive map below shows each state’s most visited national park, as well as how many visits it and all of the parks in each state garnered last year.

In only 19 states did the most visited park record fewer than 1 million recreational visits in 2025, though not all national park units release visit data.

In some cases, multiple states lay claim to a national park. Saint Croix National Scenic Riverway, for example, has segments in Minnesota and Wisconsin. It ranks as the most visited park in both states.

For other parks, visitation numbers may vary for each state’s segment. The Blue Ridge Parkway, the nation’s most visited national park, is in North Carolina and Virginia. It recorded 16.5 million visits last year – roughly 11.3 million in North Carolina and 5.2 million in Virginia. While Blue Ridge was North Carolina’s busiest park, George Washington Memorial Parkway sits atop Virginia’s list.

Though that parkway also goes through Maryland and the District of Columbia, regional visitation data isn’t available for those areas.

Being divided among multiple states kept one highly visited national park off the map above. NPS data shows the Appalachian National Scenic Trail received roughly 6.2 million visits in 2025. Across the 14 states that the trail treks through, it was only Connecticut’s most visited park, with nearly 390,000 visits. The segment with the most visits, about 1.5 million, was in Virginia.

It’s difficult to predict whether the National Park Service will see another record or near-record year of visitation in 2026, but events for America’s 250th anniversary could help fuel visits. For example, July 4th fireworks are set to return to Mount Rushmore this summer.

There is also a new line-up of fee-free days this year, dubbed “resident-only patriotic fee-free days,” in which U.S. residents can get into the 106 fee-charging parks for free. Remaining fee-free days include:

  • Memorial Day, May 25
  • Flag Day, June 14 (Also Trump’s birthday)
  • Independence Day weekend, July 3-5
  • The 110th birthday of the National Park Service, Aug. 25
  • Constitution Day, Sept. 17
  • Theodore Roosevelt’s birthday, Oct. 27
  • Veterans Day, Nov. 11

Free admission was also in effect on February 16 in honor of Presidents’ Day.
