A Florida spearfisherman was left with severe injuries to both arms after a 300-pound bull shark attacked him in front of his stunned friends.

The 40-year-old man had been finishing his last dive of the day Tuesday when the shark struck near Pensacola, about 30 miles off the Emerald Coast.

‘I was helping one of the other divers get undressed when I heard, “Help, help. I’ve been bit,”‘ boat captain Jacob Johnson told Fox 10.

Johnson said the diver’s voice was so composed that he first wondered if it might be a prank — until he looked down and saw the water turning red with blood.

‘I look over the side and he’s surrounded in blood. No time for emotions. I jumped in,’ Johnson said.

Both of his friend’s forearms had been bitten so severely that he could not lift himself back onto the boat.

‘As soon as it happened, everybody went into instinct mode,’ said Johnson.

In the water, Johnson stripped the victim of his gear and shoved him onto the vessel, where the other divers sprang into action.

‘Everybody was helping. One guy was getting his shirt off to tourniquet his arm,’ said the captain.

‘Another guy had wound seal and it clots your blood. Filled it.

‘Tourniquet around arm with zip ties. I pulled it tight and he said, “That’s too tight.” I pulled it again. “You’re not bleeding out on my watch.”‘

The other divers kept speaking to the victim to keep him calm while awaiting the Coast Guard, which then brought him to shore where he was airlifted to a hospital.

An artery in one of the diver’s arms was injured in the attack, while the other arm required dozens of stitches.

The attack left the victim unable to work and it could take months to him to recover, according to a GoFundMe set up on the diver’s behalf.

Johnson said that his friend underwent one surgery and is resting, as doctors expect him to make a full recovery.

‘Every one of our prayers were not only heard, but answered,’ said the captain.

The harrowing experience won’t keep the men out of the water and they plan to keep spearfishing, said Johnson.

The captain added that the area where they were diving was very active with ocean life on the day of the attack, and that a bull shark bit his spear gun on an earlier dive. 

‘It was kind of an eerie feeling on the dives we went on. I had three shark encounters myself. Two of which I didn’t even have a fish on me, so one bit my gun on the way down on the descent,’ Johnson said.

However, no one was injured in the earlier dives.

There have been 1,186 shark attacks in Florida between 1780 and 2026, according to Shark Data Lab.

Of those attacks, 44 were fatal, with bull sharks being the species most often involved.

A bull shark can reach up to 11 ft in length and can live longer than 30 years according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FFWCC).

‘Bull sharks are more aggressive than most shark species and responsible for many unprovoked attacks on humans worldwide,’ said the FFWCC. 

According to officials, some experts believe bull sharks are more dangerous than white or tiger sharks, as they account for the third highest number of attacks on humans. 

Nathan Gallagher’s run with the “Below Deck” franchise has come to an end.

Bravo has officially parted ways with the “Below Deck Mediterranean” cast member in the wake of his arrest on a domestic violence charge.

A network representative confirmed the decision to Page Six on Saturday, saying, “Bravo does not plan on working with Nathan in the future.”

Gallagher has appeared on the hit Bravo spinoff for three seasons, including the currently airing Season 11.

According to Page Six, however, Bravo is not expected to remove Gallagher from footage that has already been included in the current season.

We’re also told production on the season now playing out on television wrapped in December 2025 — prior to Gallagher’s current legal trouble.

Gallagher was arrested in Sydney, Australia, on Dec. 27, 2025, after allegedly assaulting a 29-year-old woman, who was not publicly identified at the time

The woman has since been confirmed to be his fellow “Below Deck Med” castmate Gael Cameron, with whom he shares a 1-year-old son, Kayden.

Cameron had filed an Apprehended Violence Application against Gallagher.

He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally choking a person without consent and common assault.

In the days after news of his arrest broke, Gallagher addressed the allegations in a statement to Rolling Stone.

“I’m not claiming I was perfect. I wasn’t. I made mistakes, and I will take responsibility for my own actions,” he said in part, adding that he would not accept “being portrayed solely through one person’s account of a relationship, when there is another side and evidence relating to it.”

Gallagher said that evidence includes “contemporaneous video footage from the night in question, as well as messages and other records.”

The US Sun also reported at the time that Gallagher would not return for Season 12 of “Below Deck Med,” which had already been filmed.

“They’re all on a year-by-year and per-season basis,” a source told the outlet. “If they get picked up for another season, great, but if not, it’s not like this big dramatic firing thing. In Nathan’s case, though, looks like that ship has sailed — pun intended. It seems likely he won’t be back.”

An arrest warrant was issued for Gallagher in Australia on Tuesday after he failed to appear at a hearing at Burwood Local Court, where he was officially convicted, according to documents obtained by Page Six.

New South Wales (NSW) Police Force said on Facebook that he was “believed to be offshore” and asked for “anyone with information into his whereabouts” to let them know “immediately.”

Page Six also confirmed Monday that Gallagher failed to appear at Dungloe District Court in April 2025, prompting an active bench warrant to be issued for his arrest in Ireland.

He is facing an assault charge stemming from an alleged incident involving a man on Main Street in Dungloe in August 2022.

FLOSSMOOR, Ill. (WLS) — Officials from two south suburban high schools say several students engaged in “racist harassment” during a varsity football game Friday night.

The incident took place in Flossmoor during a matchup between Lincoln-Way East High School and Homewood-Flossmoor High School.

In a statement, Homewood-Flossmoor said that near the end of the third quarter of the varsity football game on Friday, September 4, five Lincoln-Way East student fans “made a very bad choice” by directing disrespectful and racist harassment toward HF students seated in the bleachers. The district praised staff members for responding quickly, removing the students from the property safely and helping Homewood-Flossmoor students remain secure in the bleachers.

Homewood-Flossmoor officials said they are working with Lincoln-Way East administrators and local authorities as the investigation continues, including a review of possible “legal options.”

Lincoln-Way East officials said the students involved are not members of the football team and apologized to the Homewood-Flossmoor community. “This behavior does not reflect the expectations and standards we have for Lincoln-Way students,” the statement said, adding that the district has identified the students and will apply its discipline policies and procedures “to the fullest extent.”

Homewood-Flossmoor High School plans to address the incident with its entire student body next week.

No further information about the incident was available as officials continue to investigate.

Orlando Bloom was reportedly caught off guard by recent claims suggesting he abruptly walked away from the film Reset, leaving co-star Priyanka Chopra and fellow producers in a difficult position.

‘Orlando didn’t quit at the last minute,’ a production insider told the Daily Mail exclusively. ‘It’s all bulls***.

‘It would be nice to tell the truth. I do not like that Orlando has been thrown under the bus. I can’t even believe it.’

The pushback comes after TMZ reported last week that people involved with the independent movie felt ‘screwed over’ by Bloom, alleging his departure had left the project’s future hanging in the balance.

However, multiple sources who spoke to the Daily Mail insist the actor is being unfairly blamed and has become a convenient scapegoat for the production’s troubles.

‘Obviously someone leaked this to save their own a**, or it’s vindictive,’ the source said.

According to sources, it was actually months of chaos filled with budget issues and location and schedule changes that made the process feel more like a horror film. Ultimately, it forced the actor’s hand. 

The first source said the issues came to a head around mid-to-late July, when director Matt Smukler quit because the ‘budget just kept getting smaller and smaller.’

A second insider with knowledge of Smukler’s departure further explained: ‘The scope and some of the circumstances of the production just changed from what sort of initially had been anticipated. Matt just ultimately felt that it was best for him to step away.’

To sum it up, the first source said: ‘There was a lack of budget and a lack of transparency. They just kept changing the location because of money.’ 

We’re told filming had a tentative start date of mid-September – in part due to the scenes that had to be filmed in a forest, which could not be delayed because of how changes could affect the colors of the leaves and create continuity issues.

‘For a filmmaker like Matt who’s so strategic, methodical and planned, it was just too much of a moving target at that point that he said, “You know what, it just makes more sense to step aside and let them find someone who can figure all this out,'” the second source said, adding that it was a ‘tough decision.’

Both Chopra and Bloom – who aside from starring in the film were set to co-produce it – were understanding of Smukler’s decision to walk away, insiders said.

But the pressure was on to find another director in time.

According to the first source, Bloom made it known that his days on the project may be numbered if they could not find a new director with the smaller budget.

‘Orlando, long ago, got spooked,’ the source said.

However, the Lord of the Rings star seemingly decided to stick around for a few more weeks to see if production could pull it together.

‘They scrambled to find another director,’ the first source said. ‘It goes without saying that when a director leaves fairly abruptly, it was at a breaking point.’

‘It was very chaotic,’ they added.

‘Movies are often put together on the backs of these movie stars’ names,’ the first source said. ‘It’s sort of the foreign sales model of putting together a movie.’

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for the production company Fratricidal Films and other producers but has not heard back.

What insiders also wanted to make clear was that Chopra, 44, and Bloom, 49, are not at odds with one another over what has transpired.

Sources said they never witnessed any tension among the pair, who are ‘friends.’ Chopra and Bloom reportedly met through their shared work and public appearances for the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF).

In June, Chopra spoke on a panel about how ‘exciting’ it was to work with Bloom on Reset. ‘I thought he was perfect for it,’ she said, per a clip obtained by Variety. 

We’re told Bloom tried to give the production the ‘benefit of the doubt,’ but ultimately felt it was best to quit the project, too.

Chopra, meanwhile, feels that the situation is ‘par for the course,’ according to a third insider, who noted the ex-Bollywood star is still ‘sitting tight’ to see whether filming will resume.

The insider also pointed out, ‘No one thinks Orlando ruined the movie whatsoever’.

But Bloom is not thrilled with how this has played out publicly, according to the first source.  

‘Orlando is very disappointed that this has happened. He’s upset,’ the insider said, adding of the leaks: ‘He was disappointed and shocked.

‘No one’s happy about it and it’s super unfortunate because it is a great script.’

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Bloom and Chopra.

Smukler’s spokesperson told us: ‘Matt’s grateful for the opportunity to have been involved and has tremendous respect for the talent and team behind the film. He wishes everyone involved the very best.’

Deshundre “Dre” Vinson, a former contestant on “America’s Got Talent,” has been arrested and is now facing severe criminal charges.

Vinson was taken into custody on Wednesday, Sept. 2, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He has been charged with one count of first-degree murder and three counts of aggravated child abuse, according to a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office online booking report viewed by Page Six.

The 22-year-old’s bond has been set at $750,000, according to his inmate record with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

Vinson is scheduled to return to court on Tuesday, Sept. 8.

The charges stem from an incident involving the drowning of his 4-year-old nephew on Sunday, Aug. 16, at an apartment swimming pool, local outlet Chattanoogan.com reported.

The outlet reports that Chattanooga Police were responding to a separate incident around 5:41 p.m. local time on that day last month when they heard screaming from the complex’s pool area. When they arrived on the scene, CPR was being administered.

The victim, who appeared to be unconscious and pulled from the apartment’s swimming pool, was rushed to the hospital and remained in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for five days before being pronounced dead, per the Chattanoogan.

The outlet noted that police found no adult on the scene who knew who the boy’s parents were or who he was with at the pool.

Video surveillance on the apartment complex’s premises showed the child enter the water and slip from the edge he was holding on to and drift to the pool’s deeper area where he appeared in distress before submerging, per Chattanoogan.com.

The Chattanoogan reports that the boy remained submerged for approximately nine minutes before being rescued.

Detectives determined that Vinson was responsible for babysitting the child, his 6-year-old brother and additional children at the time of the drowning and had allowed the kids to walk approximately .2 miles to the pool with no adult supervision, per the outlet.

The local news outlet noted that Vinson was not at the pool prior to, during or after the drowning and police confirmed messages between him and the boy’s mother acknowledging the lack of adult supervision and response to the tragedy.

Page Six has reached out to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office for additional information.

The FBI’s Most Wanted Fraudsters initiative has recorded its fifth arrest in three months, after authorities in India took Manjit Singh Bedi into custody on Friday. The bureau is now working to bring Bedi, who is accused in a SNAP benefits fraud case, back to the United States, News Media has learned.

According to the FBI, agents coordinated with Indian authorities to secure Bedi’s arrest and are actively pursuing his return to the U.S., where he is expected to face charges. His capture is the latest under the FBI’s Most Wanted Fraudsters program, a campaign focused on fugitives wanted in connection with significant financial fraud allegations.

Since its launch in June, the initiative has resulted in the arrests of five fugitives. Together, the individuals are accused by the FBI of involvement in alleged fraud schemes totaling more than $2 billion, after collectively spending nearly 4,000 days as fugitives.

FBI officials say the latest arrest underscores the bureau’s effort to pursue alleged fraudsters who fled overseas in an attempt to evade prosecution.

“Five Most Wanted Fraudsters captured in just three months is a historic success for this initiative,” FBI Director Kash Patel told News Media.

Patel said the five suspects are allegedly responsible for more than $2 billion in fraud and spent nearly 4,000 combined days on the run before their arrests.

“The days of taking advantage of American taxpayers without consequence are over,” Patel said.

Federal investigators allege Bedi defrauded the U.S. government out of at least $600,000 through a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) fraud scheme between March 2024 and June 2025, while operating an Asian grocery store in Tacoma, Washington.

According to the FBI, Bedi allegedly swiped SNAP recipients’ Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards, gave them cash instead of eligible food purchases and kept roughly half of the benefits for himself.

After being indicted on wire fraud and SNAP benefits fraud charges, Bedi was ordered to surrender his passport and remain in Washington state while awaiting court proceedings, according to the FBI.

Investigators allege he instead drove across the Canadian border before fleeing to India. A federal arrest warrant charging him with violating the conditions of his release was issued on May 21, 2026.

The FBI had offered a reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to Bedi’s arrest and conviction. The bureau said the naturalized U.S. citizen was believed to be living in India before his arrest.

“As this arrest in India shows, the Justice Department’s reach extends to every corner of the planet,” Assistant Attorney General Colin M. McDonald of the Justice Department’s National Fraud Enforcement Division told News Media.

“The Fraud Division will continue to work hand-in-hand with the FBI to ensure fraudsters like Bedi are held accountable, no matter where they hide.”

The FBI said it is working to return Bedi to the U.S. to face the pending charges.
