Matthew McConaughey is opening up about the surprisingly physical arguments he has had with his longtime friend and frequent co-star Woody Harrelson.

The pair have shared a close friendship for almost three decades, but McConaughey, 56, acknowledged that some of their real-life clashes have become intense enough to draw blood. Harrelson is 65.

‘Blood has been drawn,’ McConaughey told Entertainment Weekly while discussing their new Apple TV series, Brothers, which premiered Tuesday.

‘No broken bones. But blood has been drawn, and it will be drawn again,’ he said.

Harrelson explained that the two actors regularly ‘butt heads,’ recalling one incident that resulted in a chipped tooth.

‘A cracked lip,’ Harrelson added. ‘That kind of thing.’

McConaughey confirmed that Harrelson was responsible for chipping his tooth.

He then teased his friend by claiming Harrelson had ‘accidentally overswung’ and caught him on the jaw.

‘One of the greatest athletes of all time, with incredible spatial sense,’ McConaughey joked, gesturing toward Harrelson.

‘It’s such a bulls**t excuse when he says, “I didn’t mean to extend it and miss by four inches.” He knows exactly where every part of his body is.’

Harrelson insisted that the accidental injuries have happened on both sides. Despite their occasional altercations, he made clear that their friendship has never been seriously shaken.

‘At the end of the day, we f*****g love each other. We hug it out, make a drink and everything is groovy.’

McConaughey and Harrelson first crossed paths in 1997 while working together on the comedy EDtv.

Their best-known partnership arrived in 2014, when they played detectives Rustin Cohle and Martin Hart in the first season of HBO’s acclaimed drama True Detective.

The two have recently reunited once again for the Apple TV series Brothers, a comedy that plays on the wild theory that the two Hollywood stars might actually be half-brothers.

The speculation initially kicked off after McConaughey revealed his mother, Kay McConaughey a.k.a Ma Mac, once claimed she ‘knew’ Harrelson’s father – convicted contract killer Charles Voyde Harrelson – around the time that McConaughey was conceived. 

The two have now turned the rumor into an eight-episode series. 

McConaughey and Harrelson recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about their idea for the show, with the Oscar winner sharing, ‘We’d been chatting for years, and it was becoming quite an entertaining narrative amongst he and I and our families every time we got together since my mom said that line that night in Greece [about Harrelson’s dad].’

‘He’s the engine trying to get it done because he’s the one who believes it’s true, and who wants it to be true! For us to be brothers,’ McConaughey added.

‘It is true!’ Harrelson quipped, adding, ‘because Ma Mac did say, “I knew… your father.”‘

McConaughey joked that for Harrelson Ma Mac’s statement ‘means more than a DNA test. And if a DNA test comes out and says we’re not brothers, he’s gonna say, “That’s why you can’t trust science.”‘

McConaughey was born in Uvalde, Texas, while Harrelson was born in Midland, Texas, divided by roughly 279 miles.

The best friends later pieced together that Harrelson’s father, who was involved in dozens of murders in the 1960s and 1970s, had been on furlough around the time McConaughey’s parents were getting their second divorce.

Harrelson then said that McConaughey refuses to take a DNA test. McConaughey explained that if it turned out Harrelson’s father was also his father then he’d need to ‘unpack 56 years of who I thought my dad was.’ 

Harrelson also said that McConaughey ‘is more my brother than my brothers in reality, for years and years.’ 

Harrelson’s father received a life sentence for the 1979 murder of a judge. During childhood, Harrelson had little contact with his father, who abandoned the family when he was seven. 

As an adult, he tried to rebuild a relationship with Charles, visiting him in prison until he died in 2007. 

The first two episodes of Brothers are now available on Apple TV. New episodes will premiere every Wednesday through November 4. 

The “Dancing With the Stars” ballroom was buzzing with excitement Tuesday night.

Page Six received a VIP pass to “Viral Hits Night,” gaining an inside look at how the Season 35 celebrities and their professional partners prepare for the pressure of a live broadcast.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at everything that unfolded during Week 2 of the competition.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. local time, we arrived at the Los Angeles studio where the dance competition is filmed and checked in before joining the live audience.

Only minutes after clearing security, we caught our first celebrity sighting of the evening: “Glee” alum Harry Shum Jr. alongside his pro partner, Jenna Johnson.

The pair, both dressed in white satin looks, posed for photographers outside the studio while preparing for their Viennese Waltz to the Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris.”

We also saw Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson greeting early-arriving fans as they waited patiently to enter the ballroom ahead of the 5 p.m. PT start.

Following a brief wait, VIPs and general audience members were led inside by “DWTS” crew. Along the way, guests passed the famous skybox, where contestants receive their judges’ scores, as well as the backstage quick-change area, production booths and other behind-the-scenes stations.

Once inside, every guest searched for the assigned seat that would remain theirs for the entire live taping.

We landed a coveted spot on the ballroom floor directly across from the judges’ table, offering a clear view of Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli. Off camera, their playful exchanges were every bit as funny and entertaining as they appear on television.

Friends and family of Taylor Hanson, Ciara Miller, Tyler Cameron, Amber Glenn, Jackson Olson, Jenna Dewan and Julia Stiles were seated nearby.

As the ballroom filled up, members of the troupe entertained the audience. The contestants later joined them for final warm-ups before the show began.

Previously eliminated pros Hailey Bills and Adele Zaikman added to the pre-show excitement by going live on TikTok and offering viewers at home a glimpse behind the scenes.

The live taping started promptly at 5 p.m. PT. The audience erupted in cheers and flashed their best camera-ready smiles as the Season 35 pairings were introduced.

Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy opened the night with an energetic Jive set to KATSEYE’s “Animal.”

Afterward, Page Six watched Dewan cheer on the entire cast throughout the show, helping keep the ballroom’s energy high.

During one commercial break, the “Step Up” star even joined the troupe in the skybox for an impromptu freestyle session.

Once the songs and dance styles for “Viral Hits Night” were announced, we expected Ciara Miller and Brandon Miller’s Tango to Disco Lines and Tinashe’s “No Broke Boys” to be a standout. They did not disappoint.

In the minutes before taking the floor, the pair remained completely focused on their choreography rather than Ciara’s emotional pre-taped interview package.

The reality star, who discussed the “Summer House” fallout involving her ex, West Wilson, and former best friend Amanda Batula, received enthusiastic support from the audience throughout the performance, culminating in a well-earned standing ovation.

“One time a broke boy ruined my life — or he tried. But we’re here tonight, so it didn’t work,” Ciara proudly exclaimed following her performance.

Later in the evening, Guillermo and Witney also had the whole crowd clapping along as they performed a fiery Paso Doble to “Where Have You Been” by Rihanna.

One of the best moments in the ballroom, hands down, was getting to watch Val live react to Guillermo putting his own spin on the pro dancer’s signature knee walks as the audience erupted into cheers.

Val — who was smiling ear to ear alongside the cast after the performance — went viral for his smooth glides across the floor when he was partnered with Alix Earle last season.

We caught the tail end of his reaction, as seen below:

Another standout moment was witnessing the supportive partnership between former “Traitors” co-stars Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas.

The two entered the ballroom just moments before they were set to dance a Cha Cha to “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire. We could tell Maura was feeling the nerves of the live show, but we witnessed Mark, on several occasions, calm her down and hype her up, encouraging her to stay in the moment.

She also adorably covered her ears as her pre-taped interview package aired — to tune out the noise, as many celebs opt to do each season. Clearly, it all worked out in her favor, as Maura turned on the confidence as soon as the music started playing.

Toward the end of the show, the celebrities and their pro partners all lined up on stage as they awaited the results of the combined judges’ scores with viewer votes.

Co-hosts Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro announced three couples who were in danger of elimination: Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess, Giada De Laurentiis and Alan Bersten, and Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson.

Ultimately, the couple sent home were Giada and Alan. Page Six spotted their fellow competitors quickly flocking over to them as soon as the credits began rolling — to console them and share their support before they exited the ballroom.

The remaining pairs will move on to Week 3 of the dance competition, a “Yacht Rock”-themed episode, airing next Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, and streaming on Hulu the following day.

Other theme episodes this season will include a tribute show to Mariah Carey, along with a special evening dedicated to the Grammys, a “Horror Movie Night” and more.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said in a speech to youth leaders in Minsk that he and Russian President Vladimir Putin regularly trade jokes and arguments over which of them deserves the title of the ultimate dictator.

Lukashenko made the remarks at the “Youth. Belarus. Future.” forum on Sept. 17. His comments highlighted the close political relationship between Minsk and Moscow, while underscoring his status as Europe’s longest-serving head of state.

Lukashenko has governed Belarus without interruption since 1994. Putin has led Russia since 2012, after previously serving as president from 2000 to 2008.

“You know what they say about me?” Lukashenko asked the audience during his Sept. 17 address, according to Novaya Gazeta.

“[I am] the last dictator, the second-to-last dictator in Europe. Dictator, dictator. Vladimir Putin and I often joke and argue about which of us is more of a dictator.

“They say I’m the last dictator, the last dictator in Europe. Dictator — so be it. Well, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and I often argue, jokingly, about which of us is the bigger dictator.”

Lukashenko, 72, a former Soviet collective farm manager, is widely regarded as Putin’s closest international partner and ally.

Although Minsk has not sent ground troops into Ukraine, Belarus remains a strategically important base for Moscow. Russia has relied on Belarus for military and logistical support throughout its ongoing war against Ukraine.

The Kyiv Post reported that Belarus supplies Russia with important weapons components and permits Russian forces to launch strikes from Belarusian territory.

An August report from Ukrainska Pravda also pointed to construction of a new railway in Belarus’ Gomel Oblast, near the Ukrainian border, designed to accommodate military trains.

The deepening partnership comes as Western governments intensify pressure on Moscow and its allies. The two leaders are also reported to remain in frequent contact.

Following a meeting in Moscow on Aug. 27, Lukashenko formally congratulated Putin on Sept. 21 after the release of Russia’s election results.

He applauded what he called the “unprecedented turnout of millions of voters” and United Russia’s majority, describing the result as an appropriate answer to “cynical attempts from the outside to discredit the campaign and sow discord.”

Speaking at the Minsk youth forum about Belarus’ political succession, Lukashenko argued that no one is currently ready to assume control of the country.

“Never believe those who say that Lukashenko is ‘clinging to power with blue-knuckled hands’,” he told the gathering.

“Good Lord, let them say it. I have had my fill of this power to the point where I could not possibly want any more of it.

“The only question is whether you are capable today of taking over the country and holding on to it,” he continued. “If you are, start tomorrow. To be frank, I cannot yet answer that question positively. Do not take offense.

“I became a dictator then because I stood up against the entire ‘civilized world.'”

Western nations maintain strict economic pressure on Minsk. Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys recently reiterated the Baltic nation’s firm stance.

“We do not see any reasons why our position on Belarus should soften as Belarus is not changing its behavior,” Budrys said.

“On our side, we have to be very exact and continue what works, and that is the pressure on the regime.”

Despite international sanctions, Lukashenko announced Sept. 11 that Belarus has begun selling potash, a primary export used in fertilizer, to the United States.

While Western nations maintain economic restrictions over human rights abuses, U.S. sanctions on Belarusian potash were lifted after recent political prisoner releases, though European Union sanctions remain active.
