David Beckham’s Anxious Arrival Raises England Game Stakes

0

Tension was palpable as David Beckham, famed football icon, arrived in the spectator stands alongside his wife Victoria and their family, ahead of the much-anticipated semi-final clash between England and Argentina at the World Cup on Wednesday.

Beckham, now 51, has been a steadfast supporter of England’s World Cup journey across the United States, eagerly following the Three Lions with hopes high for a monumental win.

The semi-final match held in Atlanta saw the Beckham family arrive in force, with Victoria, 52, joining him along with their children, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 21, Harper, 15, and Cruz’s girlfriend, Jackie Apostel, 30, in tow.

Amidst a sea of England supporters chanting the national anthem, their voices were engulfed by the resounding boos of Argentina fans, setting a charged atmosphere in the arena.

As a twist of fate, Beckham, a loyal supporter of his national team, will witness England’s face-off against Argentina, featuring his close colleague Lionel Messi, who also represents David’s Inter Miami team, adding extra emotional layers to the thrilling encounter.

David roared with pride as he celebrated England’s victory against Norway last week.

David was spotted getting acquainted with Timothee Chalamet as they cheered on rival teams at the France vs Spain World Cup semi-final on Tuesday.

Timothee’s father is French and he is bilingual in both English and French, the star holds dual United States and French citizenship.

The Dune star, who is dating Kylie Jenner, threw his support behind the French side as he attended the nail-biting match where they were defeated 2-0 by Spain.

David played in both Spain and France during his career, with a stint at Real Madrid from 2003 to 2007, and five months with Paris Saint-Germain in 2013.

But his loyalty lay firmly with Spain, who scored a penalty in the first half and netted a goal in the second to leave the tournament favourites dumbfounded.

Despite supporting rival sides, the two stars still found common ground as they caught up in the VIP hospitality box on the night.

They looked to be exchanging friendly banter in the match breaks, where David was joined by his wife Victoria and their children.

His children followed suit by supporting the side, with Harper and Romeo both sporting jackets from his brand Intra in Spain’s colours.

Harper was also seen looking slightly starstruck as she greeted Timothee.

Meanwhile, Romeo shared a photo of their meeting on his Instagram page shortly after the match ended.

Both Timothee and The Beckhams were left starstruck while eagerly posing for photos with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, who performed on their home turf during the match.

The DCC have soared to super stardom since featuring in three seasons of Netflix’s hit docuseries America’s Sweethearts.

Victoria, who stuck to her famous Posh pout during the football match, even managed to raise a small smile as she excitedly posted a series of snaps with the cheerleaders, posing with pom poms and asking ‘did I make the squad?’

‘ABSOLUTELY’ replied the DCC girls as they reposted the photo along with a sweet family snap which showed them posing with Victoria, David and their kids.

The family were also treated to a special performance of the DCC’s famous Thunderstruck routine, with Victoria sharing a video of the cheerleaders in their kick line on the field after the match had finished.

DCLM Daily Manna 16 July 2026 — Have Faith In God

DCLM Daily Manna 16 July 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Have Faith In God

TOPIC: Have Faith In God (DCLM Daily Manna 16 July 2026)

KEY VERSE: Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me – John 14:1

TEXT: John 14:1-4 (KJV)

1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

The song, “Have Faith in God”, was written by Baylus Benjamin McKinney, (1886-1952). It was composed in 1934 during a revival meeting at the First Baptist Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma at a time that the United States was going through the Great Depression. McKinney was deeply moved by the people’s struggles and sufferings and felt a strong desire to offer them a message of hope and encouragement through the song. He wrote, “Have faith in God when your pathway is lonely/He sees and knows all the way you have trod/Never alone are the least of His children/Have faith in God, have faith in God. Have faith in God, He’s on His throne/Have faith in God, He watches o’er His own/He cannot fail, He must prevail/Have faith in God, have faith in God.”

The ministry of Jesus was nearing its end and in the preceding chapter, the Lord had indicated He was going to leave the disciples. The news of His departure must have jolted them and they must have felt unhappy. Jesus was reassuring them of His continuous presence even when they might not see Him any more physically. He wanted them to believe in God and trust Him at all times. He assured them of His return after going away to prepare a heavenly and eternal home for them.

Believers must heed the words of Jesus and be intentional in developing their faith in God and in His word. Economic hardship and political pressures are changing the situation , forcing the children of God to go through tougher times than ever before. Public ridicule of religion is taking its toll on many believers, causing their love to grow cold. Believers must never lose hope in the word of God and His plans for the end times. We must have confidence in the promises of the Lord Jesus to go and prepare a place of abode for faithful saints.

It takes faith in God to enjoy the blessings He has prepared for His children. We have nothing to lose by putting our confidence in the Lord and we have much more still to gain when we look with hope to His coming again to take us home. In these difficult times, it is more compelling to have faith in God.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Every believer in Christ holds a double assurance policy – for this life and hereafter.

Rhapsody Of Realities 16 July 2026: Train Your Soul To Follow Your Spirit

Rhapsody Of Realities 16 July 2026 By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome (Christ Embassy): Train Your Soul To Follow Your Spirit

TOPIC: Train Your Soul To Follow Your Spirit (Rhapsody of Realities 16 July 2026)

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind… – Romans 12:2

Rhapsody Of Realities For Today’s MESSAGE:

When Paul said in Romans 1:9, “For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son…,” he expressed something profound: we serve God with our spirits. But there’s another vital part of your being—your soul, the arena of your mind, will, and emotions. Your mind shouldn’t rule you. Your emotions shouldn’t rule you. Your will shouldn’t rule you. Instead, they must come under the influence of the Holy Spirit and be brought into subjection.

In the Old Testament temple, the soul corresponds to the holy place, where the priests ministered. And what was their primary responsibility? Teaching. The priests were custodians and instructors of the law. This shows that your soul must be taught. Your mind must be trained with the Word. Your emotions must be governed by the Word. Your will must be disciplined by the Word.

There are times you say, “This is what I want to do; this is what I’ve decided.” But then the Word shows you something different. At that moment, your will must yield. You say, “Not my will but God’s will; not my way but God’s way.”

The same applies to your emotions. You may feel inclined in a certain direction but when the Word reveals otherwise, you stop. You allow the Word to dominate your emotions. That’s how your soul is brought under control.

Now, in the holy place, there were three significant elements: the candlestick, the table of showbread, and the altar of incense. The candlestick gave light; that’s the illumination of the Word in your life. The table of showbread provided nourishment; that’s the Word feeding your spirit. And the altar of incense represents prayer—your communication with God.

Do you see the connection? As you study the Word, light comes, and your spirit is nourished. Then, out of that, you’re stirred to pray, and your prayers ascend like incense before God. So, two forces are constantly at work in your soul: the Word and prayer.

The more you receive the Word, the more you’re stirred to pray; and the more you pray, the more sensitive you become to the Word. This is how your soul is trained. It’s by keeping it under the influence of the Word. It’s by ensuring that your thinking, choices and responses align with God’s will. This is maturity—where your spirit leads, and your soul follows.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for your Word that renews my mind and trains my soul. I yield my will to you and refuse to be governed by emotions or natural reasoning. Now and always, my mind is enlightened, my spirit is nourished, and my life aligns with your perfect will, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Heroic Escape: Female Jogger Survives Harrowing Attack and Attempted Drowning in Houston

0

A Houston bayou became the scene of a harrowing escape when a woman, in the middle of her workout, was reportedly attacked by a man who then attempted to drown her. Despite the terrifying ordeal, she managed to fend off her assailant and escape, leading to his subsequent arrest, according to authorities.

The alleged attacker, identified as 19-year-old Jacoby Isiah Fuselier, struck the woman around 6:30 p.m. on Monday near White Oak Bayou. Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen announced the arrest, highlighting the incident in a formal statement.

In her account to law enforcement, the woman described how she fought back, clawing at Fuselier’s eyes and pulling out chunks of his hair, ultimately breaking free from his grip. Once she escaped, she encountered deputy constables who promptly took her to a hospital for medical care.

“This ordeal highlights the immense strength and determination of the survivor,” commented Rosen. “Our intention is to ensure justice for her, and we extend our gratitude to the deputies who worked diligently on this case.”

In an effort to find the attacker, deputies flew a drone above the bayou and discovered a crime scene marked by claw marks through the mud and grass on the bayou’s bank.

They followed fresh bike tracks from the area to a residential street, where home surveillance video showed a man on a bicycle who matched the description of the assailant, the constable’s office said.

Once in that neighborhood, Fuselier allegedly approached another woman but fled when he saw her husband, authorities said. That woman told investigators that a man on a bike whistled at her while she was outside her home just before her husband walked out, Fox Houston reported.

Fuselier was later arrested after a brief chase and struggle. He was found in possession of a cell phone belonging to the woman he allegedly attacked at the bayou, Rosen said.

He was initially charged with evading arrest on Tuesday, followed by two counts of aggravated sexual assault on Wednesday, police said.

Todd Blanche Faces Fierce Confirmation Hearing with Democrats

0

During a heated confirmation hearing on Wednesday, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche found himself in a verbal tussle with Democratic senators over a variety of hot-button topics, including the conduct of President Trump and the activities of FBI Director Kash Patel.

Senator Sheldon Whitehouse from Rhode Island, displaying a stern demeanor, confronted Blanche with a direct inquiry: “How long do you plan to indulge that Kash Patel fellow? Are you comfortable with his frequent flights? Can you assure us he’s staying sober while on duty?”

“It’s absolutely false to suggest that this Department of Justice is not executing as we should and doing the right thing every single day,” Acting AG Todd Blanch shot back. REUTERS

The senator pressed on, asking pointedly, “Are you certain that none of his travel is simply an excuse for leisure pursuits like snorkeling or attending Olympic events, or perhaps visiting personal acquaintances?”

In response, Blanche didn’t mince words, calling the senator’s line of questioning “extremely distasteful.” He firmly stated, “I have complete confidence in Director Patel and his unwavering commitment to his responsibilities.”

Whitehouse retorted, “Great, you get to own that.”

Earlier in their exchange, Whitehouse threw down a stack of papers detailing various requests he made for files from the DOJ and demanded that Blanche respond to them.

He then ticked through indictments that judges tossed out, and raised concerns that they were politically motivated.

“That’s not reflective of the hundreds of thousands of indictments and informations that have been filed,” Blanche countered.

“While cherry-picking a few isolated words from district court or magistrate judges in certain districts is something that you’re entitled to do, it’s absolutely false to suggest that this Department of Justice is not executing as we should and doing the right thing every single day,” the acting AG said.

England vs Argentina World Cup Semi-Final: Live Match Updates and Highlights

0

Argentina might boast the legendary Lionel Messi, but England has its own magic on the field.

In case names slipped your mind: Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham are the ones to watch.

Without the dynamic duo of Kane and Bellingham, England’s World Cup journey might have ended prematurely. Their contributions have been nothing short of spectacular throughout the tournament.

Both players have achieved the remarkable feat of scoring six goals each. This marks an unprecedented moment in World Cup history, where two players from the same national team have reached such a milestone in a single tournament.

The point cannot be overstated: Kane is a phenomenal talent, but Bellingham truly stands out as exceptional. His standout performances against Mexico and Norway are bound to be remembered as legendary.

Even when the Three Lions are playing their absolute worst football, the Real Madrid man always seems to come up with something to save this side. It’s remarkable.

England will need both Kane and Bellingham at their very best today.

Police Investigate Suspect for Transporting Concealed Body Down Staircase

0

Images: Donte Taylor and Elysia Kinsella (Chattanooga Police Department). Scene: Studio 6 Suites in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where Taylor is reported to have driven over Kinsella’s body (Google Maps).

Authorities in Tennessee have charged a man with the disturbing act of dragging a woman’s bundled body down stairs at a hotel, attempting to load it into his car, and then running over it when those efforts failed.

Donte Taylor, aged 40, is accused of corpse abuse and evidence tampering, linked to the demise of 22-year-old Elysia Kinsella, according to a statement from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Police responded just before 4:30 p.m. on July 8 to reports at Studio 6 Suites located on Patten Chapel Road. They discovered the lifeless form of Kinsella in the parking lot. Her family had reported her missing following a halt in communication, and she had last been sighted on June 26.

An arrest report accessed by ABC affiliate WTVC indicated surveillance footage captured Taylor’s arrival in a Ford Crown Victoria. He is seen entering a room and re-emerging moments later with what seemed to be a blanket-shrouded body, as per the affidavit. It’s reported that Taylor dragged Kinsella’s body down a stairway and attempted to load it into his trunk, but was unsuccessful.

Taylor reportedly left the body behind his car and ran it over when he backed up. He then drove forward and ran the body over again and dragged it several feet, cops allege.

The suspect was later seen on video wiping what appeared to be blood off his rear bumper, the affidavit reportedly said. Cops arrested Taylor later that day.

The Chattanooga Times Free Press reported that Kinsella’s body was in a state of decomposition that initially made it difficult for authorities to identify the remains. An autopsy will determine the cause and manner of death.

Taylor is in the Hamilton County Jail on a $265,000 bond and was appointed a public defender. But a family member was reportedly set to pay Taylor’s bond — a development that apparently didn’t sit well with the judge in the case.

“That’s troubling to me that there’s somebody who’s represented by the public defender’s office is out on a $265,000 bond,” Hamilton County Judge Larry Ables said, according to a courtroom report from local NBC affiliate WRCB. “In fact, I would think that the legislature would find it appalling that that would be happening. So, I’ve got some concerns.”

Kinsella’s mother was irate. She said she knew the family member who wanted to pay the bond.

“How could you? I get you love your nephew or family member, but knowing what he did, why would you help him get out? That right there just says you’re just as heartless as he is,” she told the TV station.

Ray Fowler used to work with Kinsella at Domino’s. In an interview with WRCB, he described her as “vibrant” and said “you could hear her laugh from a mile away.”

“She commanded attention in such a way that you just couldn’t ignore her,” Fowler told the TV station. “She was so fun.”

Taylor is next slated to appear in court on Aug. 11.

Newly Installed Panels at George Washington’s Philadelphia Home Confront Slavery History

0

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — In keeping with a prior commitment, the Trump administration has unveiled revamped displays concerning slavery at the historical site of President George Washington’s residence in Philadelphia.

The new panels, installed on Wednesday, have drawn criticism, with some arguing they dilute the harsh realities of slavery. These panels are located in the same historic area that witnessed the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.

“In an overnight maneuver cloaked in secrecy, federal authorities replaced panels at the President’s House that previously offered a comprehensive history of Philadelphia,” remarked Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle L. Parker on Wednesday. “Although the federal court sanctioned this removal, the cover of night under which it occurred suggests an awareness of its shameful nature and a breach of community confidence.”

Originally erected in 2010, the panels detailed the lives of nine enslaved people who, alongside George and Martha Washington, resided at the house in the 1790s when Philadelphia served as the nation’s temporary capital.

The revision of these panels came after President Donald Trump signed an executive order in 2025 mandating that federally owned or administered historic sites avoid presenting information that “disparages Americans past or living,” highlighting instead the “achievements and progress of the American people.”

A lower court forced the federal government in February to remove the new panels after they already had been installed earlier this year. A three-judge panel of the U.S. 3rd Circuit of Appeals reversed that and ruled July 3 that the work could continue.

A government website with images of the new panels showed they would still have information on enslaved people who lived in the home. It would also include details on the abolitionist movement, how the Constitution treated slavery, the end of slavery in Pennsylvania and how Washington and his successor, John Adams, viewed and treated slavery, as well as information about the 20th century Civil Rights movement.

However, the replacement panels do not include some of detail in the earlier ones, such as a map of slave trade routes and a timeline on slavery. They also avoid critical headlines such as “The Dirty Business of Slavery.”

The city of Philadelphia had sued the federal government over the removal of information previously included in the panels. It argued that the federal government must consult with the city before making changes to the President’s House Site. Justice Department lawyers argued the administration alone can decide what stories are told at National Park Service properties.

Parker said the city intends to seek a rehearing “on serious legal issues” presented in the appeals court decision.

Michael Coard, an attorney and founder of Avenging The Ancestors Coalition (ATAC), said the Philadelphia-based history preservation group continues to work on legal strategies opposing the Trump administration’s changing of the panels.

ATAC joined the city’s lawsuit.

Trump is attempting to rewrite history, Coard told reporters Wednesday near the site.

“What if there’s a president next time who doesn’t like the Liberty Bell because the Liberty Bell was used by abolitionists to support the end of slavery?” he said. “What if there’s a president who doesn’t like the Statue of Liberty because too many immigrants come in? Do we remove the Statue of Liberty?”

Alabama Sheriff Reveals Details of Gruesome Double Murder of Veteran and Wife at Home

0

Tragedy struck in Alabama as a military veteran and his wife fell victim to a horrific burglary, officials revealed.

Authorities have arrested a 46-year-old man accused of murdering a couple, Justin and Lena Elrod, in their home in Reform, Alabama. The couple was found deceased at around 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, following a burglary report. The suspect, George Birmingham, now faces charges in connection with their deaths, according to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office.

Birmingham has been charged with one count of capital murder, two counts of murder, burglary, and additional drug-related offenses.

Court documents suggest Birmingham allegedly used an electric saw to kill Lena Elrod, while Justin Elrod was fatally injured by a blow to the head with a metallic object.

The sheriff’s office said Birmingham was accused of killing the husband and wife before the burglary inside their home.

According to WBRC, a motive hasn’t been established, but authorities said Birmingham was an “acquaintance” of the Elrods.

Aliceville Mayor Terrence Windham described Justin Elrod as a hard worker who was humble.

“He was a very humble guy, and he was the last person that I would think that something like this would happen to,” Windham said. “He survived the military, survived working in the prison, and now, this situation, it just makes it even worse.”

Jason Burns, who worked with Justin Elrod at a federal prison, said he’s still at a loss that his friend was killed.

“About every five minutes,” Burns said. “About every five minutes, I’m having that moment.”

“We ask everyone to continue keeping the victims’ families, those affected by this tragedy, and the responding first responders in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time,” the sheriff’s office said.
