Beloved ‘Jurassic Park’ Actor Sam Neill Radiated Joy in Final Public Appearances at 78

0

Renowned actor Sam Neill, famously recognized for his iconic role in Steven Spielberg’s hit, “Jurassic Park,” was all smiles at a music hall of fame event just a few weeks prior to his passing at the age of 78.

Neill looked delighted in a selfie taken with singer Kate Ceberano, who was celebrated as part of the 2026 class of inductees in the Australian Recording Industry Association’s hall of fame in June.

In addition to his snapshot with Ceberano, Neill captured moments backstage with fellow inductees, musical duo Vika and Linda, as well as Jenny Morris, a former member of “the Crocodiles.”

During the ceremony, Jenny Morris was honored with an induction into the ARIA hall of fame by none other than former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, whom Neill admired as Morris’s “hero.”

On June 11, Neill expressed his joy on Instagram, sharing, “What an incredible night in Sydney. Honored were four women I’ve admired for so long: Jenny Morris, Kate Ceberano, and Vika and Linda Bull.”

“Jenny was inducted [into] the Hall by no less than our former NZ PM , JACINDA ARDERN . Another hero.”

The hall of fame event was held to mark 40 years of the Australian Recording Industry Association music awards.

Plans for the standalone hall of fame event were finalized in September 2024 ahead of the major milestone.

“It’s something we’ve had in the pipeline for some time and a decision that was made by the board to recognise the incredible contribution many others have made to the Australian music landscape and we’ll be announcing more details next year because being inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame is a special moment and an important one for an artist,” Annabelle Herd, the ARIA CEO, said, The Music Network reported.

In recent years, the ARIA would induct one or two singers into its hall of fame as part of that year’s ARIA Awards ceremony. The 2026 ARIA awards will take place in November.

There were no inductees into the ARIA hall of fame in 2021 and 2022.

Neill’s family announced Monday he had died — just two months after he announced he was cancer free following a battle with the rare blood cancer angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma.

“It is with immense sadness that the whānau [family] of Sam Neill share the news of his passing on Monday 13th July, in Sydney Australia,” they said on Instagram.

“Sam was surrounded by family and passed with the dignity that has characterised his whole life.

“The loss was sudden and unexpected but blessed by the fact that Sam remained cancer free.

“They would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at St Vincent’s Private Hospital for their incredible care.

“More details will be shared later, but for now, on behalf of the family, we ask that you respect their privacy as they navigate this immeasurable loss.”

Neill, who moved to New Zealand as a child, attended the Sydney Film Festival in June 2026 and bosses said “he will be fondly remembered by all those who experienced his craft and bravery as an actor, his infectious larrikin spirit, and his fervent support of exciting new voices in cinema.”

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said Neill will be “mourned and long remembered.”

“Sam Neill starred in so many beloved Australian stories and he earned a special place in Australian hearts,” he wrote on X.

“Wry and dry, thoughtful and laconic, Sam fought illness with the same dignity, humour and conviction that gave strength to his every performance.

“He will be much mourned and long remembered. May he rest in peace.”

Open Heaven 13 July 2026 – Spend Quality Time With Your Spouse

Open Heaven 13 July 2026 Monday Daily Devotional By Pastor E. A. Adeboye – Spend Quality Time With Your Spouse

Open Heaven 13 July 2026 TOPIC – Spend Quality Time With Your Spouse

MEMORISE: Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun. – Ecclesiastes 9:9 (KJV)

READ: Proverbs 5:15-19 (KJV)

15 Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.

16 Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets.

17 Let them be only thine own, and not strangers’ with thee.

18 Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.

19 Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Song Of Solomon 1-4

Open Heaven 13 July 2026 MESSAGE

I am always concerned when I see married couples who don’t spend quality time together. Many of such couples spend the whole day away from each other at work and only come home to sleep at night, then they are off again in the morning. Even on weekends, they either go to work again or attend other engagements without their spouses. This ought not to be so because when you truly love someone, you will always find a way to spend quality time with him or her, and the more time you spend together, the more your love will blossom.

Years ago, a woman who was sick confessed to me that she actually didn’t want to be healed because when she was hale and hearty, her husband wasn’t spending quality time with her. However, now that she was sick, he always returned home immediately after work. Husbands and wives should not abandon their spouses because of work or any other commitment. They must spend quality time with them to build strong bonds.

Married couples must also pray together. It is unfortunate that some married couples hardly ever pray together. They may attend prayer meetings, where they spend hours praying with others, but when they return home, they are often too tired to pray together. One way that married couples can maintain strong, loving relationships with one another is by praying together regularly. Prayer strengthens marriage bonds and solidifies the love between a man and his wife.

My wife and I have been married for 59 years, and we regularly create time to laugh and have fun together. We are lovers, not just a man and a woman who are living together under one roof. Husbands and wives should play with one another. They shouldn’t be so serious that they cannot spend time laughing with their spouses or making them laugh. When laughter is always heard in a home, there will be fewer reasons for friction. Husbands and wives must be intentional about creating time for fun activities with one another that will lighten the atmosphere in their homes and fill it with joy.

Lastly, married people should take time to shower their spouses with compliments. They must not take them for granted; instead, they should seek ways to express how special they are and thank them for everything they do. I pray that God will strengthen the relationships between all men and women who are joined in holy matrimony, in Jesus’ name.

Open Heaven 13 July 2026 PRAYER POINT

Today is my lover’s birthday. Please join me in asking God to continually strengthen her and multiply His grace and peace in her life.

Open Heaven 13 July 2026 HYMN 28 – Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah!

1 Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah!
Pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but Thou art mighty,
Hold me with Thy powerful hand:
Bread of heaven! Bread of heaven!
Feed me now and evermore (2ce)

2 Open Thou the crystal fountain,
Whence the healing stream doth flow:
Let the fiery, cloudy pillar
Lead me all my journey through:
Strong deliverer! strong deliverer!
Be Thou still my strength and shield (2ce)

3 If I tread the verge of Jordan,
Bid my anxious fears subside:
Bear me through the swelling torrent,
Land me safe on Canaan’s side:
Songs of praises! songs of praises!
I will ever give to Thee (2ce)

4 Saviour, come! We long to see Thee,
Long to dwell with Thee above;
And to know in full communion,
All the sweetness of Thy love.
Come, Lord Jesus! Come, Lord Jesus!
Take Thy waiting people home (2ce)

Veteran Actor Sam Neill, Star of ‘Jurassic Park,’ Passes Away at 78

Sam Neill, the celebrated New Zealand actor renowned for his captivating performances in the Jurassic Park series, Peaky Blinders, and an array of independent films, has passed away in Australia, reports confirm. The actor, who was a triple nominee for both the Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy Awards, was 78 years old.

The news of Neill’s passing was announced by his family through an Instagram account late on Sunday. According to the post, Neill died on Monday, July 13th, in Sydney, Australia. It stated, “Sam was surrounded by his family and passed away with the dignity that characterized his life. His death was sudden and unexpected, but he was fortunate to be free of cancer. The family expresses their gratitude to the staff at St Vincent’s Private Hospital for the remarkable care provided. Further details will be shared in due course, and the family requests privacy to cope with their profound loss.”

Nigel John Dermot Neill, born in 1947 in Omagh, Northern Ireland, was honored as a Knight Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2022. Neill’s family moved to South Pacific New Zealand, his father’s homeland, in 1954.

Neill embarked on his acting journey with Roger Donaldson’s film, Sleeping Dogs, in 1977. Embracing the name “Sam,” he relocated to Australia during the late ’70s to explore greater opportunities in the acting world.

In 1979, Neill’s acclaimed performance in the Gillian Armstrong-directed film My Brilliant Career, starring alongside Judy Davis, brought him a Cannes award and international recognition.

Career

Today, reflecting on Neill’s great and blockbuster career, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese hailed him for his role “in so many beloved Australian stories, and he earned a special place in Australian hearts.”

Over the last 45 years, Neill has played both heroes and villains in films such as Nicole Kidman-costarring Dead Calm (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), and Jane Campion’s Palme d’Or-winning The Piano (1993), as well as the first two seasons of Peaky Blinders as the ruthless Major Chester Campbell.

However, while Neill has a role in Legendary’s upcoming Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, most cinema fans remember him for his role as paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant in Jurassic Park, which debuted during the Clinton administration.

Sam Neill, Beloved Jurassic Park Actor, Passes Away at 78 After Cancer Battle

0

Sam Neill, the celebrated actor known for his roles in iconic films like Jurassic Park and The Piano, has passed away at the age of 78, just months after sharing the hopeful news that he was ‘cancer-free’ following his battle with a form of blood cancer.

The New Zealand star was admitted to a hospital in Sydney this past Monday. His passing has left fans and colleagues alike in mourning.

In a heartfelt statement released on his Instagram page, Sam Neill’s family described his death as both ‘sudden and unexpected.’

‘It is with immense sadness that the whānau (family) of Sam Neill announces his passing on Monday, July 13th, in Sydney, Australia. Sam was surrounded by loved ones and left this world with the dignity that defined his life,’ they shared.

Despite the shock of the sudden loss, the family takes solace in the fact that Sam was able to remain free of cancer. They extend their deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff at St Vincent’s Private Hospital for the excellent care provided.

‘More details will be shared later, but for now, on behalf of the family, we ask that you respect their privacy as they navigate this immeasurable loss.’

In April, Neill – who is best known for playing Alan Grant in the Jurassic Park franchise – announced tests had found he was cancer free.

In an interview with Channel Seven, Neill detailed how close he came to death after chemotherapy stopped working. A costly, cutting-edge treatment prolonged his life.

Neill said: ‘I’ve been living with a particular type of lymphoma for about five years and I was on chemotherapy and the pretty miserable business, but it was keeping me alive.

‘Then the chemo stopped working. I was at a loss and it looked like I was on the way out, which wasn’t ideal obviously.’

Neill underwent a special treatment called CAR T-cell therapy, which genetically modifies a patient’s own T-cells to recognise and destroy cancer cells. Private treatment costs around $AUD540,000.

‘I’ve just had a scan just now and there is no cancer in my body, that’s an extraordinary thing. I’m very, very excited that this can happen,’ he said at the time.

The treatment is currently in clinical trials to treat another blood cancer, myeloma.

Neill also said he was planning to make a return to acting.

‘It’s time I did another movie,’ he said.

Sam first went public with his cancer battle in 2023 after being diagnosed the previous year, after initially experiencing swollen glands.

He found out about as his stage-three blood cancer while he promoted Jurassic World Dominion in 2022.

In that film he reprised his role as Grant alongside original co-stars Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum alongside Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.

He told Australian Story at the time: ‘I’m not in any way frightened of dying. That doesn’t worry me. It’s never worried me from the beginning, but I would be annoyed.

‘I’d be annoyed because there are things I still want to do. Very irritating, dying. But I’m not afraid of it.’

‘We’ve built all these lovely terraces, we’ve got these olive trees and cypresses, and I want to be around to see it all mature. And I’ve got my lovely little grandchildren. I want to see them get big.’

Neill, who was born in Northern Ireland to an English mother and a New Zealander father, first disclosed the news of his illness in his memoir, Did I Ever Tell You This, where he writes in the first chapter that he is ‘possibly dying’.

Reflecting on life at the time, the seasoned actor once again said that he did not fear death, admitting, ‘I’m not afraid to die. But it would annoy me. Because I’d really like another decade or two, you know?’

‘But as for the dying? I couldn’t care less.’

Sam’s final social media post, made on June 12 this year, was one of celebration.

The actor attended the ARIA Hall Of Fame ceremony and posed alongside a number of stars, including singers Jenny Morris, Kate Ceberano and Vika and Linda Bull.

‘Great night in Sydney. Four women I have idolised for decades were honoured,’ he wrote in his caption.

‘Jenny was inducted the Hall by no less than our former New Zealand PM, Jacinda Ardern. Another hero.’

News of the celebrated actor’s death was inundated with tributes.

‘This hits hard. Thanks for the memories, Sam. You’ve left behind an incredible body of work. Love to your family,’ wrote Australian radio host Ben Fordham.

‘This is shocking news. What a legend. Gentle genius. Vale Sam Neill,’ commented comedian Dave Hughes.

‘Sam! May you be resting peacefully,’ wrote Australian of the Year Grace Tame.

Meanwhile, former ABC journalist Virginia Trioli shared her disbelief with a simple, ‘Oh no.’

Neill shares a son, Tim, 40, with New Zealand actress, Lisa Harrow, to whom he was married between 1980 and 1989.

The star was married to Japanese makeup artist Noriko Watanabe from 1989-2017 and they share a daughter, Elena, 35. He also adopted Noriko’s daughter from her first marriage, Maiko.

Sam also had a son, Andrew, who was placed for adoption when the actor was in his early twenties.

He went by the nickname Sam, dropping Nigel after deciding Sam was ‘less awkward’.

‘I found I moved more easily in the world as a Sam. Nigel is an awkward fit in most circumstances. Imagine being a movie actor called Nigel Neill,’ he said in 2014.

Neill starred in three Jurassic Park films including the original in 1993, Jurassic Park III in 2001, and Jurassic World Dominion in 2022.

He became a household name after playing palaeontologist Grant in 1993’s Jurassic Park alongside Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum.

He would reprise the role in Jurassic Park III in 2001, and again in Jurassic World Dominion just four years ago.

Sam recently worked on Godzilla x Kong: Supernova and The Last Resort, both of which are now set to be released posthumously in 2027.

On the small screen, Neill appeared in episodes of The Simpsons, Peaky Blinders, The Tudors and The Twelve.

One of Neill’s best-known roles in Australia, his adopted home, was as the scientist ‘Mitch’, in historical comedy-drama cult classic The Dish.

The film told the story of the crucial role of the Parkes Observatory in relaying the live feed of the Apollo 11 moon landing to the world, and features an iconic scene in which Neill played a game of cricket inside the Parkes Radio Telescope itself.

Neil Westcott, Mayor of Parkes, told the Daily Mail the news of Neill’s death came as ‘a shock’ and didn’t rule out the possibility of a brief cricket game inside the dish as a tribute to Neill.

Escalating Tensions in Strait of Hormuz: Iran and US Battle for Strategic Control

0

On Monday, tensions escalated between the United States and Iran as both countries asserted their claims over the strategically crucial Strait of Hormuz. This conflict intensified over the weekend with a series of military strikes rippling across the Middle East.

Hostilities flared when a container ship in the strait, positioned off Oman’s coast, was targeted by Iran. This attack has heightened concerns over the dwindling prospects of diplomatic resolution.

In retaliation, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) unleashed a fresh barrage of assaults aimed at multiple Iranian military sites. The targets included air defense systems, radar facilities, missile, and drone units, as well as small naval vessels.

Officials from the United States disclosed that these strikes followed an even more extensive operation conducted on Sunday, impacting approximately 140 objectives.

In a counter-move, Iran launched its attacks against nations hosting US military forces, striking locations in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, and Oman. Tehran remains steadfast in its claim over the control of shipping routes through the strait.

As violence intensifies, international mediators are pressing for renewed negotiations, with United Nations secretary-general António Guterres warning that a return to full-scale hostilities would have “catastrophic consequences”.

Attacks threaten trade and diplomacy

Control of the strategic waterway has become key leverage for Iran, with an adviser to the country’s supreme leader on Sunday saying it was more important than “dozens of atomic bombs”.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said “the Strait of Hormuz will be closed until further notice and until the end of American interventions in this region”, according to state news agency IRNA.

US CENTCOM countered on X that the strait was “open to all vessels seeking to lawfully transit”.

Only six vessels transited the strait on Sunday, ship-tracking data from Kpler showed, the lowest number in five weeks.

On Sunday evening, Iranian state media reported at least 10 “enemy projectiles” hitting Qeshm Island, which sits on the Strait of Hormuz.

It reported further strikes on the island of Farur, to the east of Qeshm in the Gulf, that it said killed a telecommunications worker and wounded two others.

IRNA also reported early on Monday morning that US strikes had killed one person and wounded four at a water pumping station in the southwest city of Mahshahr.

Iran’s Guards said they also hit Oman, which has rarely been targeted.

Oman’s government summoned the Iranian ambassador and handed him a formal protest — a rare move for the sultanate, which has been seeking to balance competing demands from the US and Iran.

The attack came just hours after the country hosted Iran’s foreign minister to discuss the Strait of Hormuz.

Despite continuing mediation efforts by Oman and Qatar, neither Iran nor the US appear willing to back down.

And with each side accusing the other of violating last month’s agreement, the prospects for restoring both the ceasefire framework and meaningful negotiations appear increasingly uncertain.

DCLM Daily Manna 13 July 2026 — Believing The Spies

DCLM Daily Manna 13 July 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Believing The Spies

TOPIC: Believing The Spies (DCLM Daily Manna 13 July 2026)

KEY VERSE: And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither tonight of the children of Israel to search out the country – Joshua 2:2

TEXT: Joshua 2:1-7 (KJV)

1 And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot’s house, named Rahab, and lodged there.

2 And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to night of the children of Israel to search out the country.

3 And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, which are entered into thine house: for they be come to search out all the country.

4 And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were:

5 And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out: whither the men went I wot not: pursue after them quickly; for ye shall overtake them.

6 But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof.

7 And the men pursued after them the way to Jordan unto the fords: and as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

In his autobiography published in Moscow in 1967, the disgraced former British spy Kim Philby told the story of his life as a double agent for both the British Spy agency M16 and the Soviet KGB. The book recounts how he passed crucial information to the Soviets, compromising Western operations during the Cold War. It provides Philby’s own narrative of his motivations, actions and mind-set as a long-term mole until his cover was blown and he escaped to Moscow where he eventually died. Spies live a dangerous life and can put the security of nations and people at risk.

As the new leader for the nation of Israel, Joshua wanted first-hand information about the security and other social conditions in Jericho before launching his attack. For this, he sent two unnamed men to “go view the land”. The men went, but unfortunately, their cover was blown almost as soon as they entered the city. They hid in Rahab’s house and she, amazingly, cooperated with their covert operations by misdirecting the emissaries of the king of Jericho when they came to her.

The book of Hebrews commended Rahab for her faith in the God of the spies. “By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace” (Hebrews 11:31). The spies apparently entered Jericho in the evening and not long after, the men of Jericho rightly located where they were. Rahab chose to cast her lot with the two spies and rescue them. This act of faith turned Rahab the harlot to Rahab the forgiven, who became one of the heroines of faith in the Bible.

Each day, we have opportunities to relate with people by faith. You can, like Rahab, believe God’s messengers, even when all the prognosis show them as underdogs. You should not ignore the saints and pitch your tent with the king of Jericho because he has the trappings of power on his side. Your choice matters because you are dealing with God’s secret agents who may determine your destiny. Be intentional in pitching your tent on God’s side.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
No one can ever perish trusting the Lord.

Rhapsody Of Realities 13 July 2026: The Church Is More Than A Building

Rhapsody Of Realities 13 July 2026 By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome (Christ Embassy): The Church Is More Than A Building

TOPIC: The Church Is More Than A Building (Rhapsody of Realities 13 July 2026)

Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles. Likewise greet the church that is in their house… – Romans 16:3-5

Rhapsody Of Realities For Today’s MESSAGE:

When you study the Book of Romans carefully, especially the sixteenth chapter, you’d notice something striking about the early Church. It wasn’t one central congregation; there were several fellowships, different groups of God’s people meeting in different places, yet all part of the same Church.

This becomes even clearer when you read the opening of Paul’s epistle to the Romans: “To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints…” (Romans 1:7).

The Churches were spread across many locations with household fellowships and groups of Christians meeting in different homes. That’s why in Romans 16:3-5, he said greet Priscilla and Aquila and the church that is in their house.

Also, in the 10th verse, he said, “…salute them which are of Aristobulus’ household,” and continued in the 11th verse to say, “…Greet them that be of the household of Narcissus, which are in the Lord.” These were not merely families; these were churches, living expressions and extensions of Paul’s ministry. It reveals something profound: the Church is not a building; it’s the people of God.

The early Church was organised as many churches, yet one body. It might have been several gatherings, but each was alive, active, and connected. The Bible says, “And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house…” (Acts 2:46). There was a larger gathering, but there were also smaller fellowships where they shared the Word, prayed together, and grew together.

This kind of structure made the Church strong and indestructible. Even in times of persecution, it continued to thrive. You may destroy a building, but you cannot destroy the Church. As long as the people are there, the Church is there. This is why fellowship is so important.

Wherever Christians gather in the Name of the Lord, He’s present, and that’s the Church. The Lord Jesus emphasised the power of the smallest assembly when He said, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20).

So, don’t reduce the Church to a location or a structure. Understand its true nature: it’s the living Body of Christ, expressed through His people, in fellowship, in unity, and in purpose. Be part of that expression. Strengthen it. Build it. That’s how the Church grows, and the Kingdom advances from glory to glory. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for making me a part of the Church, the living Body of Christ. I function actively in fellowship, contributing to the growth and strengthening of others. Through me, your life is expressed, and your Kingdom is advanced today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Remembering Sam Neill: Celebrated ‘Jurassic Park’ Star Passes Away at 78

Famed for his role in the 1993 hit film ‘Jurassic Park,’ Sam Neill passed away at the age of 78 on Monday, as confirmed by his relatives.

The announcement, shared on Instagram, read: “With great sorrow, the whānau [family] of Sam Neill announces his passing on Monday, July 13th, in Sydney, Australia.”

“Sam’s final moments were spent surrounded by loved ones, maintaining the dignity that he was known for throughout his life.

“Although his departure was sudden and unforeseen, there is solace in knowing that Sam remained free of cancer.

“The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at St Vincent’s Private Hospital for their exceptional care and support.”

“More details will be shared later, but for now, on behalf of the family, we ask that you respect their privacy as they navigate this immeasurable loss.”

The actor’s death comes just two months after he announced he was cancer-free following his battle with angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma – a rare and aggressive form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

“I’ve been living with a particular type of lymphoma for about five years and I was on chemotherapy and the pretty miserable business but it was keeping me alive,” he told Australia’s 7News in April.

Neill, who was born in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland in 1947, was forced to seek an alternative when doctors told him chemotherapy stopped working.

“I was at a loss and it looked like I was on the way out, which wasn’t ideal obviously,” he said.

He then took part in a trial for CAR T-cell therapy – a form of immunotherapy that trains T-cells to destroy cancer cells.

“I’ve just had a scan just now and there is no cancer in my body, that’s an extraordinary thing,” he said, reflecting on the success of his trial.

“I’m very, very excited that this can happen. It’s time I did another movie.”

Neill previously said he was “not remotely afraid” of dying as he battled cancer.

“I know I’ve got it, but I’m not really interested in it,” he said.

Neill, who moved to New Zealand in 1954, was best known for playing the paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant in “Jurassic Park,” a role he would reprise in “Jurassic Park III” in 2001, and “Jurassic World: Dominion” in 2022.

He starred in John Carpenter’s “Memoirs of an Invisible Man,” playing shady CIA operative David Jenkins – a role that earned him a Saturn Award nomination in 1993 from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films.

Neill also starred in the BAFTA-winning series “Peaky Blinders,” playing Inspector Chester Campbell in 12 episodes between 2013 and 2014.

More recently, Neill appeared in miniseries such as “Apples Never Fall,” “Untamed” and “The Twelve.”

He has acting credits for the upcoming 2027 movie “Godzilla X Kong: Supernova” but his character remains under wraps.

Australia Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said Neill will be “mourned and long remembered.”

England’s Redemption Plan: Beating Argentina & Tuchel’s Strategy for Jude Bellingham Revealed

0

If I were part of the England squad, Thomas Tuchel’s remarks following our victory over Norway wouldn’t concern me in the least.

Firstly, Tuchel’s observations were spot-on. Players usually get irked when a manager questions their commitment because it feels personal. That’s when you start pondering whom the critique is directed at.

Tuchel, however, did the opposite by applauding England’s mindset, highlighting their determination, and their solidarity in tough situations.

His point was merely that England should elevate their game further, which is indeed valid. Rather than critique, I’d interpret it as a nod of confidence, acknowledging potential yet to be fulfilled. Every player dreams of having a coach who has that level of belief in their abilities.

Jude Bellingham’s edgy response to Tuchel’s comments has naturally stirred discussions, and I sense their dynamic might not always be seamless. However, understanding the context is crucial.

Thomas Tuchel was right to criticise England's performance levels against Norway, but he made a point of praising their menality and willingness to fight for each other

Put yourself in Jude’s position. You’ve just covered seven and a half miles in Miami humidity. You’ve scored the goals that have taken your country into a World Cup semi-final. Your body is exhausted, your emotions are everywhere and the first question you’re asked is whether your manager thinks you played well enough.

You’re probably going to be a little bit spiky. Jude has always been an emotional footballer. That’s one of the reasons he’s so special. He also knows his place in this England team is beyond question. He’s earned that right.

If I was Tuchel, I’d have listened to his answer and quietly filed it away. You don’t start an argument with your best player four days before a World Cup semi-final. You keep everybody together and maybe revisit it months down the line if you ever feel the need. That’s management, and Tuchel’s management of Bellingham over the past year or so is what has brought him to this point. Bellingham is the reason England aren’t already home. First Mexico and now Norway. Without him, England lose.

Now, I went against the grain after Mexico when I highlighted the technical flaws of the team performance and explained why a lot of what I saw that night concerned me. Not everyone agreed and some thought I was being negative. I wasn’t. I thought it was important to look beyond the drama and entertainment, because that informs what happens next. What did happen next? They were played off the park by Norway for large periods and couldn’t get control of the game. It was exactly as I feared.

I hear a lot of people now saying it will just have to be this way: England winning ugly. I don’t buy that, and I haven’t given up on England being better against Argentina on Wednesday.

One of the oldest sayings in boxing is that styles make fights. It has survived because it’s true. One boxer can look completely ordinary against one opponent and sensational against another.

Horse racing has its own version: horses for courses. Football is no different. Some opponents suit you, some don’t. England have spent most of this tournament facing teams they were expected to beat before a ball was kicked.

That creates a different kind of pressure and presents different in-game challenges. Often, you just do what you must to win, and that’s exactly what we’ve seen with England. It’s been a grind.

England were played off the park against Norway despite the victory and the performance was as bad as I feared, but that does not mean they cannot beat Argentina in the semi-finals

As reigning world champions and with Lionel Messi in their team Argentina will go on the attack, which should suit England as they throw bodies forwards

I believe we will see another leval again to Bellingham in Atlanta and Harry Kane is a guarantee, but can England's wingers chip in with some goals and can the midfield keep the ball?

Is it better to win ugly or demand brilliance from England’s stars on the biggest stage?

The Argentina game won’t feel like that. They’re the world champions. They’ve got Lionel Messi. They’ll attack. They’ll commit bodies forward. That suits England, but so will the occasion and the pedigree of the opposition. As a player, I’ve always believed that you find better against better.

This game will ask different questions. The spaces are different. The tempo is different. That’s why I believe we will see a version of England that we haven’t already.

Remember, Argentina have also had a favourable route to this point and have needed extra time, moments of fortune and a fair amount of resilience to get this far.

They’ve made very hard work of beating Cape Verde, Egypt and Switzerland. Them relying on Messi or Julian Alvarez is no different to England relying on Bellingham and Harry Kane.

The scary thought is, I believe we will see another level again to Bellingham in Atlanta. If any player will rise to that occasion, it will be him. What we need is everyone else to go with him. Kane is a guarantee — but can the wingers finally chip in with some goals? Can the midfield keep the ball for more than a few passes?

I’ve been fairly unimpressed by a lot of what I’ve seen from England so far, but I also know how football works. The biggest games have a habit of bringing the biggest performances, especially from the biggest players. That is why Tuchel was right not to sugar-coat Norway.

His players didn’t need protecting. They needed reminding that there is another level. Criticism isn’t always a warning. Sometimes it’s a challenge. England can answer that against Argentina.
