Keen-eyed Fans Uncover Mysterious Detail in ‘RHOA’ Star Cynthia Bailey’s Photo

Sharp-eyed followers of Cynthia Bailey spotted Nick Reiner, who is facing murder accusations, appearing in the backdrop of one of her photos.

In May, Cynthia Bailey, well-known for her role on “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” used Instagram to honor her ex, Leon Robinson, on his 64th birthday.

Bailey, 59, delighted fans by posting a nostalgic picture featuring their daughter, Noelle Robinson. The snapshot captured the heartwarming moment of Noelle hugging Leon, the famed “Five Heartbeats” actor, during a dinner outing.

Numerous fans eagerly contributed to the comments section, noting that Reiner appeared to be seated at a nearby table in the top right corner of the photograph.

“So y’all gonna act like Rob Reiner’s son isn’t in the background there?! Oh ok,” one user remarked, highlighting the unexpected cameo.

“Is that Nick Reiner in the background?” asked another person.

“Is that Rob Reiners son in the background 😶,” commented a third netizen.

On Reddit, fans said it is “terrifying” to see Nick — who was charged with murdering his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, last December.

“I think it is terrifying because he became a murder[er],” one user claimed. “The thought that a man in the background choose [sic] to kill both his parents in a violent knife attack can seem terrifying.”

It’s unclear when the image was taken.

Page Six has reached out to Bailey for comment but did not immediately hear back.

Last December, Michele and Rob were found stabbed to death in their Brentwood, California, home. He was 78 and she was 70.

The film director and his wife’s death certificates stated that they died within “minutes” of receiving “multiple sharp force injuries” with a “knife, by another.”

Nick — who was diagnosed with schizophrenia before the killings — was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths. He is facing a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole or the death penalty.

In February, Nick pleaded not guilty to the double killings.

Colleagues and Leaders Honor Lindsey Graham in Heartfelt Tribute

The political world and beyond is paying tribute to Senator Lindsey Graham, who tragically passed away on Saturday after a “brief and sudden illness” at the age of 71. His death leaves a significant void in the U.S. Senate, where he was known for his dynamic presence and unwavering dedication.

On Sunday, former President Donald Trump expressed his condolences and admiration through a heartfelt post on his Truth Social platform. “Graham was one of the greatest people and Senators I have ever known,” Trump wrote.

Continuing his tribute, Trump highlighted Graham’s relentless work ethic and his patriotic spirit, stating, “He was always working, and was a true American Patriot. Lindsey will be greatly missed!!!”

Graham had been actively campaigning for his fifth term in office, reinforcing his commitment to South Carolina and his legislative duties. Over the years, he was a notable figure, having chaired the Senate Budget Committee and serving prominently on both the Judiciary Committee and the Committee on Appropriations.

Internationally, Graham’s passing was mourned by figures such as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Sharing his thoughts on the social platform X, Netanyahu remarked, “Sara and I grieve with the American people over the loss of our dear friend, Senator Lindsey Graham. In our recent meeting, I said, ‘Lindsey is a great friend of Israel and a cherished friend of mine. We have no better friend than Lindsey.’” Known for his strong support of Israel and his stance as a defense hawk, Graham left an indelible impact on U.S. foreign policy.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, another world leader of a country strongly supported by Graham, also offered a tribute to the late Palmetto State senator Sunday.

“Deeply saddened by the news of the passing of United States Senator Lindsey Graham. Lindsey was a true defender of freedom and the values that make our world safer,” Zelensky said on X.

“He visited Ukraine ten times during the years of Russia’s full-scale invasion and was here with our people when it was most needed. We remained in constant dialogue, and I will miss our conversations.”

The other senator from South Carolina, Tim Scott (R), said in his own post that “South Carolina lost a statesman and I’ve lost a friend.”

“My prayers are with his sister and the rest of his family. From his humble beginnings to the Senate floor, Lindsey always led with faith, family, and South Carolina first. Lindsey remained committed to public service and doing what he loved. He always introduced levity and brought wit to the most challenging moments,” he added.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) said his “heart is heavy this morning to learn of the passing of my friend and colleague, Senator Lindsey Graham.”

“Lindsey’s long and dedicated service in the Air Force and in Congress carried him to far-flung regions of the world. He was a strong advocate for the United States and a strong ally to freedom-loving countries across the globe,” he added in a Sunday post on X.

Former President George W. Bush said in a statement that he and his wife, Laura Bush, “were saddened to wake up to the shocking news.”

“He was a knowledgeable Senator who understood how the world works and how important America’s international engagement is to resist tyranny,” Bush wrote. “He was a kind and funny man who loved our country and loved serving it. South Carolina was fortunate to have such a committed public servant in its corner. And I was fortunate to have known Lindsey Graham.”

Florida Man Allegedly Targets Ex with Backpack of Waste in Cheating Accusation Drama

0

A troubling incident unfolded in Florida, where authorities claim a man took drastic measures against his ex-girlfriend, allegedly hurling a backpack filled with feces and urine at her, driven by his suspicion of her infidelity.

Daniel Niemiec, a 20-year-old resident, is now facing serious charges of domestic violence, including strangulation and two counts of battery. These charges stem from a disturbing series of accusations reportedly affecting the woman over the span of a month, as detailed in a probable cause affidavit obtained by Oxygen.

According to court documents, the ordeal began on June 2nd during an initially consensual encounter when Niemiec allegedly began repeatedly hitting her face with his hand. Despite the woman’s pleas for him to cease, the alleged assault continued, leaving visible marks and pain, which she captured in photographs and later shared with her mother.

The situation reached a dangerous level on the night of June 30th. An argument at Niemiec’s home reportedly escalated when he approached the woman in the living room, placing his hands around her neck. According to the affidavit, he allegedly choked her, severely restricting her ability to breathe and causing her to gasp desperately for air.

Investigators noted in their report that the victim attempted to cry out for help during the attack, but her voice was stifled due to her obstructed airway, leaving her unable to vocalize her distress, as the authorities detail.

According to the woman’s account, Niemiec was allegedly laughing as he choked her.

After the incident, she went to a friend’s Margate home, then returned the following day to collect her personal belongings. As she arrived at the residence, Niemiec was allegedly standing outside holding her backpack, which he’d “defecated on, urinated on” and “filled with hot sauce, ketchup and other unknown fluids” and dumped it over her, authorities said.

The woman left the area and eventually contacted police to report the alleged abuse. The reporting officer said she was “physically shaking” and appeared to be “in fear” while recounting the incidents.

After taking Niemiec into custody, police said he admitted to the slapping incident, telling officers that he was trying something new during the consensual sex and it “had gotten out of hand,” per the affidavit.

When asked about the strangling incident, police said Niemiec told investigators that he had “anger issues and sometimes cannot control it,” while admitting to placing his hands around his girlfriend’s neck and applying pressure. He added that he “didn’t think” his girlfriend would have been able to breathe, according to the court records.

When the conversation turned to the backpack, Niemiec told investigators that he had been “upset” because he thought his ex was cheating on him and filled the backpack with feces, urine and other fluids as “payback for her cheating,” according to the affidavit.

He told investigators that he threw the backpack at her in the parking lot, but didn’t remember where it landed.

Niemiec was later released from custody and placed on house arrest, according to court records reviewed by Oxygen.

It’s unclear whether he has retained an attorney.

Georgia Teen Set for Court in Apalachee High School Shooting Case

0

ATLANTA (AP) — A Georgia judge has scheduled a plea and sentencing hearing later this month for a teenager accused of a deadly shooting spree at Apalachee High School, which resulted in the deaths of four individuals in September 2024.

The teenage suspect, Colt Gray, 16, initially entered a not guilty plea to charges that include murder. The tragic incident claimed the lives of two students and two teachers, also injuring several others, at the school located northeast of Atlanta.

According to a court filing on Friday, the judge presiding over the case has scheduled a “Non-Negotiated Plea and Sentencing Hearing” to commence on July 24. The judge previously indicated that Gray must inform the state and the court if he wishes to change his plea to guilty before the trial, with a deadline set for this Wednesday.

In this case, a non-negotiated plea implies that there is no agreement between the defense and the state regarding sentencing. Unlike a plea deal, which involves a prearranged sentence between prosecutors and the defendant in exchange for a guilty plea, here the judge has the sole authority to determine the sentence. The judge’s decision will follow presentations from both sides, summarizing the case and offering sentencing recommendations.

Attempts to reach Colt Gray’s attorney for comment on Sunday were unsuccessful as there was no immediate response to an email request.

Gray’s trial had been set to begin in mid-October in Columbia County, about 100 miles (160 kilometers) from Barrow County where the shooting happened, after the judge agreed to a defense request to change the venue.

Gray’s father, Colin Gray, was convicted by a jury in March on charges including second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter after prosecutors said he gave his teenage son the assault-style rifle used to open fire at the school. The elder Gray is set to be sentenced later this month.

The Sept. 4, 2024, shooting killed teachers Richard “Ricky” Aspinwall, 39, and Cristina Irimie, 53, and students Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, both 14. Another teacher and eight more students were wounded, seven of them hit by gunfire. Colt Gray, who was 14 at the time of the shooting, was charged as an adult with 55 total counts, including murder, cruelty to children and 25 counts of aggravated assault.

Investigators testified that Colt Gray carried the rifle given to him by his father onto the school bus with the barrel wrapped in a poster board. They said the teenager left his second-period class and emerged from a bathroom with the rifle, shooting people in a classroom and hallway.

Investigators have said the teenager carefully plotted the shooting at the high school of 1,900 students. A Georgia Bureau of Investigation agent testified that the boy left a notebook in his classroom with step-by-step instructions and a diagram to prepare for the assault, including an estimate that he could kill as many as 26 people and wound as many as 13 others.

Colt and Colin Gray were interviewed by sheriff’s deputies about an online threat linked to Colt Gray in May 2023. Colt Gray denied making the threat at the time. He skipped 8th grade, enrolled as a freshman at Apalachee after the academic year began, and then skipped multiple days of school.

Family members had been seeking psychological help for Colt Gray before the shooting, but it appeared he never saw a counselor.

Colt’s mother, Marcee Gray, who was separated from Colin Gray, told investigators that she had argued with Colin Gray weeks before the shooting, asking him to secure his guns and restrict Colt’s access. Instead, over time, he bought the boy ammunition, a gun sight and other shooting accessories, records show.

Colt Gray even created a shrine in his bedroom to Nikolas Cruz, the shooter in the 2018 massacre at Florida’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, prosecutors said.

Next to her co-host Jamie Laing, Vic gently stroked her stomach throughout the interview, also proudly showing off her dazzling engagement and wedding ring.

The recorded interview hasn’t yet been published on Radio 1, Vick or Jamie’s Instagram pages. However, it was posted to YouTube on Monday night.

Vick and Calvin previously sparked pregnancy rumours after the Grammy Awards back in 2024.

The speculation started after the presenter posted a photo from the awards event where she was seen gently placing her hand on her stomach.

However, Radio 1 presenter Vick quickly put an end to the rumours on Instagram.

She responded to a fan who urged others to stop commenting on women’s bodies, saying: ‘Yep, just placing my hand on my tummy! I think I was smoothing my dress or checking my post-brekkie bloat or something but thank you all for all the lovely messages.’

Vick and Calvin, real name is Adam Richard Wiles, celebrated their first wedding anniversary late last year, after tying the knot in a lavish Ibiza Glastonbury-themed wedding in September 2023.

After their wedding, they jetted off to Brindisi in Italy on a £25million private jet for their romantic honeymoon.

Previously, Vick revealed their love story actually goes all the way back to the mid-Noughties.

Vick shared that when she was 19 she rejected a 24-year-old Harris’s advances when he was riding on the high of his hit Acceptable In The 80s.

She told You Magazine: ‘It’s something that we laughed about on our first proper date. We still laugh about it now.’

While Calvin went on to become one of the world’s highest producers, racking up an estimated £200million fortune, Vick previously admitted she was ‘shallow’ and had no idea he would turn into ‘an Adonis’.

Talking about her engagement to Calvin, Vick confessed she kept the details of her engagement private noting it was a ‘very special moment’ and that ‘it was… perfect’.

She added: ‘We don’t really put anything on social media because the time we have together is ‘real life’ and it’s our own.

‘For the first time in a long time, I’m finishing work and going home to a life that is just mine. I’m learning to find balance and peace.’

JonBenet Ramsey Case Reopened Amidst Lab Controversy, Father Urges for Advanced DNA Assistance

0

A Colorado DNA analyst’s recent guilty plea has reignited interest in the unsolved murder of JonBenét Ramsey. Her father is now advocating for advanced DNA testing that he feels could finally crack the case.

In an interview, John Ramsey expressed confidence that former Colorado Bureau of Investigation analyst Yvonne “Missy” Woods was not connected to his daughter’s investigation. He noted that the initial DNA tests were conducted independently.

“A separate lab in Virginia, Bode Labs, performed the first evidence tests,” Ramsey explained. “They reported in January 1997 that they uncovered unidentified male DNA on JonBenét’s underwear.”

Despite the upheaval caused by the broader DNA scandal, Boulder authorities maintain that the JonBenét Ramsey murder probe has remained untainted and unaffected.

“The Boulder Police Department does not believe the actions of Missy Woods have had any effect on the JonBenét Ramsey case after a review of all the records by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation,” a Boulder Police Department spokesperson told News Media.

“Because this is an active homicide investigation, we are unable to answer any specific questions regarding the investigation at this time,” the statement continued.

The Boulder County District Attorney’s Office reached the same conclusion, telling News Media that CBI’s review determined Woods’ criminal conduct “will not have an impact on the evidence in the JonBenét Ramsey investigation.”

A spokesperson for the district attorney’s office also told News Media the investigation remains active, with the team working the case meeting as recently as last month.

The DA’s office said investigators also met with the Ramsey family several months ago, plan to continue providing updates and are reviewing evidence to ensure the investigation benefits from the latest advances in forensic science.

“There is a strong push to ensure that all items of evidence have been reviewed for appropriate forensic testing in various disciplines, and most notably to ensure DNA testing has kept pace with advancements in DNA testing methodologies,” the spokesperson said. “Additionally, the federal, state and local agencies involved remain steadfast in their diligence to explore all advanced DNA testing capabilities from outside independent labs, while ensuring the efficacy and validation support for those evolving testing methodologies.”

The comments mark one of the clearest acknowledgments to date that investigators are evaluating advanced DNA testing through outside independent laboratories, an approach Ramsey has advocated for more than a year.

The renewed attention comes after Woods pleaded guilty June 23 to cybercrime, first-degree perjury, attempting to influence a public servant and forgery for criminal conduct committed between 2008 and 2023 while working as a forensic laboratory scientist for CBI. Woods worked for the agency from 1994 until 2023.

According to prosecutors, Woods altered and deleted data related to critical portions of the laboratory’s DNA quality control process. Under the plea agreement, she faces a mandatory prison sentence of eight to 16 years after prosecutors consolidated more than 100 original felony charges into four felony convictions. She is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 8.

John Ramsey discusses the investigation into the murder of his daughter, JonBenét Ramsey

Although Ramsey said Woods’ misconduct did not affect the evidence in his daughter’s case, he believes the controversy reinforces the need for outside laboratories to handle advanced DNA analysis.

Ramsey said he also continues to question why some evidence collected from the crime scene was never tested.

“We did know that a number of items from the crime scene were sent in for testing, and a number were not tested,” Ramsey told News Media. “We always kind of wondered why. I mean, items that should have been sampled, but they weren’t.”

Ramsey said subsequent rounds of DNA testing identified the same unknown male DNA profile on additional pieces of evidence, reinforcing his belief that investigators already possess the DNA needed to identify his daughter’s killer.

“Bottom line is we have the killer’s DNA and FGG is the new tool which could give us the killer’s name if the police would only use it,” Ramsey said, referring to forensic genetic genealogy.

Ramsey said the work should be conducted by one of the specialized private laboratories with expertise in forensic genetic genealogy because, in his view, local law enforcement agencies do not have the technology or personnel to perform that type of analysis themselves.

“We have been begging the police to work with one of these labs, but we don’t know if they will do it,” he said.

The district attorney’s office said authorities are actively exploring advanced DNA testing capabilities through outside independent laboratories as the investigation continues.

JonBenét Ramsey was found beaten and strangled in the basement of her family’s Boulder, Colorado, home on Dec. 26, 1996. Her death remains one of the nation’s most infamous unsolved murder cases, with no one ever charged.

While investigators maintain the CBI scandal had no impact on the Ramsey investigation, Ramsey hopes the renewed attention will accelerate the use of forensic genetic genealogy, a technology he believes could finally reveal the identity of the person who killed his daughter.

News Media reached out to Woods’ attorney for comment but did not immediately receive a response.

Top 5 Must-Watch TV Series for Fans of Jack Ryan

0

Amazon Prime Video’s series “Jack Ryan” delivers an adrenaline-pumping blend of intense espionage action. Leading the charge is John Krasinski, who stars as the iconic CIA analyst Jack Ryan, a character originally brought to life in Tom Clancy’s best-selling novels. With its gripping storyline and compelling performances, “Jack Ryan” has topped Looper’s chart as the premier adaptation among Clancy’s TV and film ventures.

Throughout its four-season run, “Jack Ryan” treated audiences to electrifying tales of international intrigue and security. But as all good things come to their close, the series wrapped up its action-packed saga with the final 2026 Prime Video film, “Jack Ryan: Ghost War.” As the curtain falls on this exciting journey, fans eager to chase similar thrills will undoubtedly seek other espionage dramas featuring heroic American protagonists.

Fortunately, for “Jack Ryan” enthusiasts, there are a number of shows out there that capture that same spirit of suspense and heroism. These riveting series, each with their own unique spin on the espionage genre, promise to deliver comparable excitement. Let’s explore five such shows that are essential viewing for any “Jack Ryan” fan.

Condor

For those craving TV adaptations of classic CIA thrillers, “Condor” stands out as a must-watch. Derived from James Grady’s renowned novel “Three Days of the Condor,” the series stars Max Irons as the beleaguered CIA analyst Joe Turner. When assassins wipe out his entire team, leaving him as the sole survivor, Joe is thrust into a perilous quest to unravel a deadly conspiracy involving a potential plague on American soil.

Seasoned espionage aficionados will understand that “Condor” offers more than just its foundational plot. Its two-season narrative expertly maintains suspense, providing twists and developments that keep both Joe and the audience guessing. Much like Jack Ryan, Joe Turner finds himself as an inexperienced yet determined analyst facing grand conspiracies, making “Condor” an irresistible pick for those who loved “Jack Ryan.”

24

Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran’s political action thriller “24” is made from some very similar building blocks as “Jack Ryan” — it merely puts it all together in a slightly different way. A winner of no fewer than 20 Primetime Emmys Awards for its broadcaster, Fox, “24” is a fast-paced series about the counter-terrorist agency CTU and its perennial star agent Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland).

The show bases each season around a very simple concept: A dangerous terror plot or other major crisis is taking place, and it’s up to Bauer and the CTU to stop it within the timeframe of 24 hours. The gimmick is that every season of “24” unfolds its plot with 24 episodes. Each one covers the events of a single hour, which allows the show to tell its story in “real time” for an additional sense of urgency. Like “The Pitt,” but with spies.

Beyond this basic premise, there is little in the way of knowing just how the plot will unfold. Expect terrible betrayals, shocking twists, and an incredible amount of grimacing from Sutherland. His character is a complex figure who will readily use torture and other gray area tactics to fulfill his mission, making for some tense fiction. All In all, “24” has plenty of similarities with “Jack Ryan,” but it adds its own distinct flavor to the experience.

The Night Agent

We’re back on the subject of thriller shows based on novels with “The Night Agent,” which draws from Matthew Quirk’s book of the same name. This time our central agent is from the FBI and tasked with manning the White House “Night Action” phone, which in turn is used to communicate with the highly classified program of the same name.

While the phone almost never rings and the job seems like a comparatively cozy gig for our hero, Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso, who credits the show’s success to its escapism), it soon transpires that the Night Agent program has been compromised — which implies that the White House has a mole. Just like that, Sutherland finds himself in the middle of a conspiracy of epic proportions. Meanwhile, the true extent of the Night Agent program’s shady world is slowly unveiled.

Created by Shawn Ryan of “The Shield” and “S.W.A.T.” fame, “The Night Agent” provides a thrilling peek under several layers of top level conspiracy. Terror plots, personal tragedies, and high octane action combine to make “The Night Agent” an inherently watchable and entertaining representative of its genre. As such, any fan of “Jack Ryan” can add it to their watch list without a worry in the world.

The Terminal List

When it comes to heroes who are trying to do their best against insurmountable odds, Jack Ryan and Chris Pratt’s James Reece would no doubt get along like a house on fire. Pratt stars in Amazon Prime’s “The Terminal List,” an action-packed thriller about a Navy SEAL who’s haunted by a mission that went terribly wrong. As it turns out, Reece’s experiences and memories soon tie together into a conspiracy that has massive stakes — and potentially deadly repercussions for people who know too much.

Based on the book by Jack Carr, “The Terminal List” combines conspiracy thriller action with the unreliability of memories and one man’s struggle against powers much greater than him. The CIA and the FBI both play roles in the narrative, and there are plenty of political elements in play — all of which only adds to the show’s similarity with “Jack Ryan.” With one eight episode season in the can, a second season is slated to begin streaming in October 2026.

Reacher

Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) is no CIA agent, nor is he an analyst. However, his unique investigative methods and penchant for solving all sorts of major conspiracies with a combination of wits and explosive action makes Amazon Prime Video’s “Reacher” a surprisingly fitting thematic match for “Jack Ryan.”

“Reacher” is a show that’s incredibly easy to recommend to just about any fan of action-oriented mystery thrillers, especially ones based on well-known novels like “Jack Ryan.” Lee Child’s “Jack Reacher” book series tends to deal in mysteries and crimes that start as small town shenanigans, but soon expand to a scale that’s more or less comparable to Jack Ryan’s globetrotting adventures.

Despite Reacher’s history as a military police operative instead of a spy, and his tendency to ramble around the world, he has an almost supernatural ability to run into massive criminal operations that could have international ramifications — that is, unless Reacher decides to enter the mix and put a stop to the criminals’ plans. Which he inevitably does. The results, like the rest of the Ryanesque-shows here, are a delight to watch.

In Hollywood’s latest frontier, the film industry is racing to embrace Artificial Intelligence, launching what many are calling a new “space race” to produce the first blockbuster predominantly crafted by AI.

Traditionally cautious about technological shifts, the filmmaking world often clings to its roots. Many directors remain loyal to 35mm film over digital formats, while others view CGI and blue screen effects as threats to their artistic integrity.

As a result, AI has been met with significant skepticism among veteran filmmakers. Yet, in the paradoxical and often cutthroat environment of Hollywood, this skepticism runs parallel to a fervent behind-the-scenes effort. Studios, directors, and screenwriters are eagerly exploring AI to push creative boundaries and captivate audiences with something groundbreaking.

“The space race was about being first, but it was also about inspiring the world that we should keep competing and keep investing [in the technology]. Bigger than being first, which is fleeting, is inspiring the world,” Bryn Mooser, a two-time Academy Award-nominated documentary filmmaker, shared with The Post.

Though fully AI-produced films have emerged, they usually come with modest budgets and primarily find their audience online, crafted by highly creative individuals. As of now, these AI films are still a rarity in mainstream theaters.

However, household names are testing the waters and teasing their involvement with AI, which sources say probably goes much further than they are letting on.

In 2025, legendary director Martin Scorsese aligned with the German AI company Black Forest Labs to use its technology, announcing it would be part of pre-production and creating storyboards.

“I’m interested in the intersection of technology and storytelling, and seeing how that can push the bounds of creativity to create deeper and richer experiences for audiences,” he somewhat cryptically told the New York Times.

Traditionalists were outraged that the man who previously labored over hand-drawn boards for movies like “Raging Bull,” painstakingly sketching boxing fight scenes so their ragged lines conveyed the energy he wanted from star Robert De Niro, would eschew his natural talents to use technology.

But as Scorsese and many others like him know, any new tool presents an opportunity, and if you’re not involved, you’ll be left behind.

“They are scared to admit it publicly, but it is a tool that gives an advantage. If you don’t use it, you’ll be at a disadvantage to those who are using AI,” David Defendi, a screenwriter and founder of an AI software company, told The Hollywood Reporter.

Seeing the opportunity, Oscar-winner Ben Affleck invested in AI startup InterPositive. They have said their technology can be used to adjust the lighting in scenes, remove stunt ropes, or correct continuity errors — the kind of things that are handy on real sets, shooting real actors.

Netflix bought the company in a deal worth up to $600 million, which insiders say is a lot of money for apparent “rope-removing” tech.

Keen not to tip their hands, the main players in Hollywood are playing their cards close to their vest. “The thing with AI right now in Hollywood: Everyone’s lying just a little bit… Studios are lying about how much they’re using it,” media mogul Janice Min recently told Business Insider.

They’re also tiptoeing around angry movie industry unions, who are all daring someone to step over the line and admit to using AI in a role that took work away from any creative, vowing all hell will break loose when they do.

However, once that genie is out of the bottle, it’s open season.

Mooser explained that forward-thinking production companies are “using [AI] technology and putting in the filmmakers to make it happen. And when it does, alarm bells will be sent through all the studios. It’s going to be a real wake-up call.”

One thing unions have been particularly vocal about: no AI-generated characters, such as the controversial Tilly Norwood, a beautiful young lab-created female star, who had been the subject of anger and ridicule, but still landed a role in comedy-drama “Misaligned.”

Everything else, it seems, can be gotten away with. The closest thing to an AI blockbuster up for grabs so far is “Killing Satoshi,” starring Ben’s brother, Casey Affleck, and comic Pete Davidson.

The upcoming Bitcoin-themed movie is being directed by Doug Liman — who worked with Tom Cruise in the drug-smuggling action-comedy  “American Made,” and will include over 200 locations that, according to The Wrap, extend from Antarctica to Antigua and will all be created with AI.

Filming is being done on a “grey box” stage, where Casey and Davidson will act and have worlds created around them. Some of the editing will also help smooth things over.

If that’s not enough to upset the traditionalists and unions, the budget surely will. Liman claimed the movie’s budget dropped from $300 million to $70 million thanks to the use of AI, slashing travel costs and reducing shooting time.

Another big indie director, Darren Aronofsky, Oscar-nominated for directing “Black Swan,” has thrown himself headlong into AI-created work, executive producing a collection of American Revolution shorts called “On This Day… 1776.” They were met with mixed reviews, but they were certainly a landmark in AI creation.

From the actors’ side, many have copyrighted their images to prevent misuse online, such as “Interstellar” and “Magic Mike” star Matthew McConaughey, who filed eight trademark applications to stop his likeness from appearing online.

One of the hottest trends among actors is to work with a lab to scan their digital image, so it can be used in AI productions without them lifting a finger.

Such tech is being used to bring Val Kilmer, who died in 2025, back to life. His last announced movie, “Deep as the Grave,” is now being finished with archival footage and AI creations of him.

British actor Michael Caine retired years ago, but he has licensed his voice to the company ElevenLabs for use in various commercial situations, including narration of “The Odyssey” audio book. It is Sir Michael’s voice, but done through AI, so he did not need to read the entire book out loud. McConaughey — an investor in the company — is using the same tech to translate his voice into Spanish. It’s reasonable to think his image and likeness may end up being an ElevenLabs project in the future.

Meanwhile, one of Scorsese’s old pals, screenwriter-turned-director Paul Schrader — who scripted “Taxi Driver” and “Raging Bull”— is on board with the new AI dawn.

He’s had a few hiccups, including an abandoned remake of a John Wayne movie and the Screen Actors Guild forbidding him from using computer-generated characters in his in-production film noir, but he anticipates an upcoming AI film.

“By the time I get out, there will be 10 or 20 AI films ahead of me. And one of those is going to make a lot of money,” he predicts.

And with the way online virality works now, perhaps that movie won’t even come from Hollywood at all.

“Imagine somebody who [makes a movie using AI], and it gets hundreds of millions of views on YouTube, and it gets talked about. It’s so popular people are wearing costumes of the characters in it for Halloween. That’s coming,” says Mooser, whose production company Asteria has five AI-enabled films in the works. “It’s a paradigm shift. If you suddenly have the technology to do things that are indistinguishable from a Marvel movie, then you’re only limited by your passion – although, of course, you still need to tell a good story.”

And in that respect, the best storytellers will have many advantages. Schrader half-joked that for an 83-year-old director like Scorsese, AI may serve an unexpected purpose: “He’s getting on in age. Maybe that’s how he makes a last film. He doesn’t have to leave the house!”

Senator Lindsey Graham Passes Away After Unexpected Short Illness

Senator Lindsey Graham, a Republican representing South Carolina, passed away on Saturday evening after a brief and unexpected illness at 71, as announced by his office.

“Senator Graham’s family is grateful for prayers during this difficult time and kindly requests privacy,” stated a message from his office shared on the social media platform X at 2:02 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time.

Renowned for his strong stance on defense, the Republican senator was actively pursuing his fifth term. During his tenure, he chaired the Senate Budget Committee and was a member of the Judiciary, Appropriations, and Environment and Public Works Committees.

In a heartfelt message on Truth Social, President Trump expressed, “Senator Lindsey Graham, one of the most remarkable individuals and senators I’ve ever known, has passed away. He tirelessly worked and embodied true American patriotism. Lindsey will be sorely missed! Further details and arrangements to follow. So sad!”

Graham had been slated to make an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday morning, following his recent return from a visit to Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote in a social media statement that Graham was there for Ukraine and “our people when it was most needed.”

“He visited Ukraine ten times during the years of Russia’s full-scale invasion and was here with our people when it was most needed. We remained in constant dialogue, and I will miss our conversations. We met twice in just the past week,” Zelensky added, noting Graham’s work on “important initiatives that could help bring peace closer, including stronger sanctions against Russia.”

“We will always be especially grateful for the recognition of our people and words of admiration for the courage of Ukraine’s defenders. America and the world have lost a determined leader,” he added.

Graham’s colleagues mourned his loss in statements posted to social media reflecting on his decades-long service in the Senate.

“My heart is heavy this morning to learn of the passing of my friend and colleague, Senator Lindsey Graham,” Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.C.) wrote in a post on X.

“Lindsey’s long and dedicated service in the Air Force and in Congress carried him to far-flung regions of the world. He was a strong advocate for the United States and a strong ally to freedom-loving countries across the globe,” he added.

Fellow South Carolina Republican Sen. Tim Scott also shared his condolences.

“South Carolina lost a statesman and I’ve lost a friend. My prayers are with his sister and the rest of his family,” Scott wrote in a statement posted to X.

“From his humble beginnings to the Senate floor, Lindsey always led with faith, family, and South Carolina first. Lindsey remained committed to public service and doing what he loved. He always introduced levity and brought wit to the most challenging moments,” he added.

Scott continued, “Lindsey will be missed.”

Senate Armed Services Chair Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) said there were “no words” to describe the late South Carolina Senator, who Wicker said “succeeded in office but he cannot be replaced.”

“There are no words to describe Lindsey Graham, my friend of more than three decades. There are no words to describe his impact on the foreign and domestic policy of the United States. Lindsey served his beloved country in uniform and in the House and Senate. He stood solidly for freedom and strength and he fought for liberty across the globe,” Wicker wrote on X.

NBA Star’s Assault Accusations Stir Drama: Baby Mama Allegedly Threw Water in Shocking Dispute

0

The ongoing custody dispute between NBA player Miles Bridges and Mychelle Johnson, the mother of his four children, has seen a new development, with Bridges alleging she assaulted him by throwing water on him.

According to court documents accessed by The Daily Mail, Bridges asserts that Johnson doused him with water in the presence of their children during a scheduled custody exchange on June 22. He claims she threatened to repeat her actions if their disagreement continued.

The court documents reveal that Bridges recorded the incident by communicating with Johnson via a co-parenting app, questioning her actions with, ‘So it’s funny to throw water on me in front of my kids?’

In the documents, Johnson allegedly responded, stating: ‘You were cussing in front of them scaring them SO i played it off SO they would laugh they did.’

Furthermore, Bridges has accused Johnson of violating the custody agreement by refusing him his scheduled visitation and relocating their children from North Carolina to Florida.

‘The Mother has repeatedly placed the children in the middle of the parties’ dispute, used the children as leverage against the Father, exposed the children to an act of physical violence committed against the Father, and then attempted to cause the children to laugh at or minimize that conduct,’ Bridges’ attorneys claim.

‘Exposing young children to an assault upon their Father and then trivializing that assault is harmful to their emotional health, safety, and welfare.’

Bridges is seeking primary physical custody of their children as well as joint legal custody which includes his ex-partner being supervised by a qualified third-party supervisor during her scheduled parenting time.

The Daily Mail has contacted Mychelle Johnson, who is facing misdemeanor charges of assault and battery over the alleged water incident, and her attorneys at Conley Law Office for comment.

Bridges was granted a temporary restraining order against Johnson back in May after accusing her of ‘cyberstalking’ him and turning up at one of his basketball games to damage his car. Johnson denied the claims.

She was forbidden from coming with 500 feet of Bridges and ordered to stay at least 500 feet from his current girlfriend, Shara, and the three children he shares with her, as well as his home and workplace.

Johnson has also been accused in previous court filings of calling his attorneys under an assumed name to make false pregnancy claims against him, and lying to their children by claiming he had no interest in seeing them.

Bridges’ previous custody request was denied by the Mecklenburg County judge on April 10 because it ‘failed to articulate how the children were at substantial risk,’ according to an order reviewed by The Daily Mail.

Bridges pleaded no contest in 2022 to a felony domestic violence charge for injuring Johnson in front of their children in June of 2022. Johnson shared photos of her injuries allegedly sustained in the attack days later, although she didn’t mention him by name and subsequently deleted the social media post.

He avoided jail time as part of his plea agreement but was sentenced to three years of probation.

In October of 2023, a criminal summons was issued for Bridges, accusing him of violating a protection order stemming from the 2022 domestic violence case.

A former Michigan State standout, Bridges was a first-round pick of the Los Angeles Clippers in 2018 but was immediately dealt to Charlotte in exchange for future MVP, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Over seven NBA seasons, he has averaged 15.9 points and 6.1 rebounds a game.

Bridges has $76million in career earnings and is due to make $22.8m for the Hornets next season.
