Sister of Missing QLD Woman Speaks Out After Ex-Partner Faces Murder Charge

0

In a devastating turn of events, a young mother’s tragic death has left her family grieving deeply and sent shockwaves through the community, following what authorities are calling a “horrific crime.”

On Saturday night, wildlife hunters stumbled upon what police suspect are the remains of 30-year-old Jana Armstrong, roughly 50 kilometers south of Toowoomba in dense brushland.

Although the remains have yet to undergo official identification, investigators are confident they belong to the young mother, who welcomed a baby boy earlier this year.

Armstrong had been missing for four days, last seen at her residence in Toowoomba, a city situated west of Brisbane.

By Sunday, police revealed they had detained Armstrong’s former partner, aged 48, who now faces charges of murder connected to domestic violence.

Jana’s heartbroken sister posted a tribute to her on Sunday morning.

“Losing my beautiful sister in this way is something I will never be able to understand or put into words,” Faith Isaacs wrote on social media.

“I promise you, Jana, your beautiful baby boy will always know exactly who his mummy was, how deeply you loved him and just how incredibly special you were.”

‘This is a horrific crime’

Queensland Police Detective Acting Inspector Brian Collins said locals “would be horrified that a young lady, a 30-year-old with a four-month-old child, has had her life taken.”

“This is a horrific crime,” he said.

No relevant domestic violence protection order was in place in the relationship, Collins said, but added that all interactions with police before the death would be examined.

“I don’t think there’s anything police could have done to prevent this at all.”

A post-mortem examination is yet to be completed and police have so far not issued any statements as to the cause of death or whether a weapon was involved.

The man charged with murder will appear at Toowoomba Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.

Leeds up for fight over Muharemovic

Meanwhile, Leeds United is going head to head with Bournemouth and Sunderland in the race to sign Sassuolo’s center-back, Tarik Muharemovic.

Bournemouth has been keeping an eye on the Bosnia international for over a year, with initial inquiries made as far back as January.

Sassuolo rate the 23-year-old at around £30million, but previous club Juventus mantain a 50 per cent sell-on clause.

Leeds are keen to add a centre back after selling Pascal Struijk to Brighton.

Garnacho heading for the exit

Chelsea are ready to sell Alejandro Garnacho after a single season at the club.

Daily Mail Sport reported earlier this week that two Champions League clubs are among those showing interest in Garnacho, with former club Manchester United retaining a 10 per cent sell-on clause.

Garnacho, who is valued at £45million, has not been involved in those first sessions held by new boss Xabi Alonso, with club and player working to finalise his future.

Everton keen on Newcastle star Murphy

Everton hold an interest in Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy.

The 31-year-old has 12 months left on contract and could depart unless Newcastle are prepared to extend his contract.

He has been at Newcastle for nine years and has been an important part of Eddie Howe’s squad.

Everton have signed Tyrique George from Chelsea and could yet re-sign Jack Grealish from Manchester City if a financial compromise can be found.

They are determined to hold on to Iliman Ndiaye who has interest from a number of top clubs. He has three years left on his deal but so far he has failed to agree on new terms despite them being offered.

RB Leipzig have an interest in Tyler Dibling and Thierno Barry.

Man City sign teenage star Monga

Manchester City have completed the signing of Jeremy Monga from Leicester after pipping Arsenal to his signature.

The England U19 international has agreed a five-year deal, with City paying £10m for the winger who turned 17 on Friday.

Monga, who is the third-youngest player to ever play in the Premier League, said: ‘When I became aware that Manchester City were interested, I knew instantly this was the right choice for me.

‘And it has also handed opportunities to players from the academy like Phil Foden and Nico O’Reilly, which shows that the pathway is there.’

Monga becomes new head coach Enzo Maresca’s second signing of the summer after Elliott Anderson joined from Nottingham Forest for £116m.

Mick Jagger Responds to John Mulaney’s Comments on Being ‘Not Nice’ During ‘SNL’ Appearance

Mick Jagger has responded to comments made by comedian John Mulaney, who claimed the Rolling Stones’ iconic frontman wasn’t particularly “nice” when they collaborated on Saturday Night Live.

In an interview with New York Times Magazine, Jagger, 82, reflected on the world of show business, acknowledging how industry figures often associate solely with one another due to shared experiences. He remarked, “A lot of people in show business only hang around with people in show business, because they’ve got something in common, they can relate to each other, and you get disassociated from what people might call ‘real life.’”

Back in 2019, Mulaney, 43, shared his account as an SNL writer tasked with pitching sketches to Jagger. The legendary rocker has been a frequent guest on the show and maintains a close friendship with its producer, Lorne Michaels.

During his comedy special Kid Gorgeous at Radio City, Mulaney recalled his friends’ curiosity, asking if Jagger was nice. His answer? “No. Or maybe he is, for his version of life because he has a very different life,” Mulaney explained. He continued by highlighting the extraordinary nature of Jagger’s existence, noting, “He’s played to stadiums of 20,000 people cheering for him like he’s a god for 50 years. That must change you as a person.”

John Mulaney Drags Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s Marriage to Cheryl Hines During Netflix Charity Event

Meanwhile, John Mulaney continues to expand his comedic talent, adding a new impression of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to his lineup. He humorously shared his unique connection to Kennedy, quipping, “If you don’t know Bobby — and that’s how I know him, as Bobby, that’s how much he shouldn’t be in the government. I know him. He’s comedy adjacent,” as he performed during his Netflix “Night of Too Many […]”

Mulaney admitted, “If you do that for 50 years, you’re never again gonna be like, ‘Um, does anyone have a laptop charger I could borrow?’ You know that bulls*** way we all have to talk to get through life?”

Jagger told the New York Times Magazine that he “never saw” Mulaney’s comedy special, though he agreed he had a different perspective than most people.

“Obviously, it’s not normal,” he said of his lavish lifestyle. “It is not like most people’s lives. It does affect you. You can become disassociated.”

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee said that he has tried to actively “fight against” becoming alienated from the public over the years.

“I mean, you do fight against it. It’s a conscious effort,” he said.

Asked how he tries to stay in touch with people, Jagger explained, “It’s quite easy, really. You go out and walk on the street on your own and do normal things, go and buy The New York Times. But, nevertheless, that’s only temporary because psychologically your actual state of mind is permanently damaged.”

“Your late 20s and early 30s is a very tough time for people in this business because it’s a big ego trip, and you have to have a huge ego to do this,” the rocker went on. “People that do this that don’t have huge egos have huge problems because they have to manufacture a completely different [personality]. I have a friend whose standing joke is that I behave at a dinner party like I behave onstage.”

Jagger insisted that he’d learned how to switch off his bombastic stage persona.

“I think it comes with age. You’ve heard all these stories about method actors,” he said. “They take it to the absolute extreme, so they’re like the character all the time, and then after the movie’s over, they’re still in character. It takes a long time to slough off the character. So which character do you go back to? Is he always going to carry some of that character in his ‘true’ character, whatever that is?”

Mick Jagger and his bandmates in The Rolling Stones have lived in some of Europe’s most historic homes over their 60-year careers. The band’s exploits in the Swinging ‘60s often made their houses ground zero for news coverage, thanks to numerous drug raids and the 1969 death of guitarist Brian Jones. A 1969 raid on […]

He concluded, “This is the show business dichotomy and it’s something you learn to live with, and you always hope that you’re a so-called normal person underneath.”

Jagger is still going strong as he enters his mid-80s, with the Rolling Stones having released their 25th studio album, Foreign Tongues, earlier this month. The star-studded record features the Stones collaborating with fellow rock god Paul McCartney, pop star Bruno Mars and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, among many others.

Conor McGregor Addresses Devastating Injury Following UFC 329

0

In the wake of a devastating knee injury during UFC 329 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Conor McGregor expressed his despair on X, remarking that he is “beyond dark” and likening his situation to “hell.” The injury occurred on Saturday night, forever marking a sombre chapter in his fighting career.

During his much-anticipated return to the UFC, McGregor’s comeback was cut tragically short. On his initial attempt to kick in the octagon, an unexpected slip led to what seemed like a serious injury to his right leg. Just 69 seconds into the fight against Max Holloway, the match was abruptly halted.

In the early hours of Sunday, McGregor took to social media to reiterate the unforeseen nature of his injury. He revealed, “My head gasket is gone,” emphasizing that no prior injuries alluded to the ordeal. His disbelief was palpable as he recounted his rigorous preparation, kicking and jumping tirelessly both in his training camp and just before stepping onto the fight floor.

McGregor’s post occurred just over an hour after he bolted from T-Mobile Arena barefoot — and after declining a request from Paramount Plus for an interview — following his loss.

Dana White, the president and CEO of UFC, said they’re assuming that McGregor, 37 blew out his ACL, and McGregor’s post confirmed reporting from The Post’s Erich Richter that the injury didn’t occur before the fight — despite what speculation on social media, and a viral clip, suggested.

“If there was a preexisting injury somebody would have noticed,” White told reporters, according to The Athletic.

McGregor, whose bout — and return — served as the main event Saturday night, took five years before returning to the ring this time, and it’s unclear when, after this injury, his next fight might be.

Conor McGregor’s UFC Comeback Ends in Disappointing Defeat

0

In a highly anticipated return to the octagon, Conor McGregor’s comeback was abruptly cut short when he suffered a severe injury within the first moments of his UFC 329 bout on Saturday.

After a five-year hiatus from fighting, McGregor, now 37, re-entered the ring to face Max Holloway in front of a packed T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. However, for the devoted fans who flocked to Sin City, the night did not unfold into the fairy tale they had hoped for.

The fight took an unexpected turn when McGregor charged forward and aimed a kick at his opponent, an attempt that missed and ended with a knee injury.

As he landed awkwardly, McGregor went down, leaving the audience in disbelief as he was unable to rise after just 10 short seconds into the main event.

Sensing his chance, Holloway moved in with a series of punches, targeting the visibly struggling McGregor, who, despite the setback, fought the urge to retreat and fought to stand back up.

However, seconds later, he tried the same kick again, with the same result.

He fell to the floor and lay on his back as Holloway delivered a flurry of brutal punches to the downed Irishman in front of the stunned T-Mobile Arena crowd.

Again, McGregor mustered the strength get back to his feet and managed to exchange some punches with Holloway – before buckling once more after throwing a huge left-hand towards his welterweight rival.

As he lay on the ground, McGregor beckoned Holloway to engage on the ground – but even his welterweight rival was left bemused by the Irishman’s actions.

Holloway refused to engage in a wrestling match and, instead, told the referee to allow McGregor back to his feet. That, in turn, was the beginning of the end.

As he stood up again, McGregor was in clear discomfort and could barely support himself as he limped towards Holloway, prompting the referee to wave off the bout.

There was no dramatic finish, no signature knockout blow from Holloway – just a sobering scene as McGregor limped off and his team rushed to his side.

The Irishman was later seen, in videos that circulated social media, leaving the T-Mobile Arena almost immediately as he headed to the hospital.

The result brings a thoroughly deflating end to a five-year comeback that had been billed as one of the biggest events in UFC history – and will fuel fresh questions over whether the Irishman’s body can hold up at the top level.

McGregor’s return had been five years in the making. His last appearance in the Octagon ended in gruesome fashion at UFC 264, when he suffered a broken leg against Dustin Poirier that required emergency surgery and a lengthy road back.

The years since brought further disruption, including injury withdrawals, an 18-month suspension for missed drug tests, backdated to September 2024 and only expiring this year, and a Dublin civil jury finding him liable in November 2024 for the sexual assault of Nikita Hand, for which he was ordered to pay $260,000 in damages.

Whatever the questions over his conduct outside the cage, the fight had proved a box-office phenomenon before a punch – or in this case, a kick – was even thrown.

Dana White revealed that UFC 329 did a $25 million gate, breaking the previous promotional record of $22 million set by UFC 306 at the Sphere in September 2024.

‘The Conor McGregor effect is huge,’ White said. ‘This gate beat it at $25million, so it’s the biggest gate in UFC history for his return. The city is buzzing.’

That record-breaking build-up now stands in stark contrast to an ending nobody could have scripted.

Saturday’s result – a fresh injury sustained on the very first kick of his comeback – will raise immediate and painful questions about whether McGregor’s body can hold up at UFC level again, and about what, if anything, comes next for a 37-year-old whose career now carries almost as much baggage outside the Octagon as inside it.

Trump-Endorsed Reflecting Pool Renovation Stalls Amid Persistent Setbacks

The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is being drained once more to address yet another set of issues, adding to the challenges faced during President Trump’s extensive, multimillion-dollar renovation of this iconic landmark in Washington, D.C.

Originally, the aim was to have the Reflecting Pool fully restored and available for public enjoyment by July 4, coinciding with the nation’s 250th anniversary celebrations. However, the project hit several snags, including visible peeling paint on its surface and unpleasant green algae blooms populating the water. These setbacks have necessitated further repairs and adjustments.

These delays were met with disappointment by many of the visitors who had come to Washington with the hope of witnessing the newly enhanced pool during the Independence Day festivities.

“It kind of makes me sad a little bit,” Lindsay Anderson, a tourist from Nebraska, expressed to DC News Now.

“I think it’s unfortunate that a lot of people are here in our nation’s capital,” she added, reflecting the sentiments of many who had hoped for a completed project.

Anderson continued: “We’re here to see it, and we can’t really.”

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said in an interview with conservative podcaster Katie Miller that the repairs were planned to fix reported vandalism as well as any debris that may have fallen into the water from the massive 4th of July fireworks display over the National Mall.

“Drain the water, clean up the fireworks stuff,” Burgum, whose agency oversees the National Park Service, told Miller. “Repair the vandalism that was done. Fill it back up again.”

Trump has insisted that vandals were responsible for the damage to the 2,082-foot pool’s newly installed liner, and several arrests have been made in connection to vandalism.

Former Olympian David Hearn pleaded not guilty this week to a federal charge accusing him of damaging the pool’s two square foot sealant. He has denied allegations from prosecutors that he “forcefully and violently” ripped up the pool’s bottom liner, causing $1,000 in damage.

Tragic Case Resolved: Mother’s Fate Decided After Child’s Accidental Suffocation

The life of an Iowa woman has taken a pivotal turn after she claimed her baby accidentally rolled into a trash can, leading to his tragic death.

At the age of 28, Jaley Bush was charged with child endangerment resulting in death following the death of her son, known as R.S., as initially reported by Law&Crime.

Bush received a five-year prison sentence after admitting to charges of child endangerment and involuntary manslaughter in May, according to information from local ABC affiliate KCRG based in Cedar Rapids.

On January 27, according to a criminal complaint accessed by Law&Crime, Bush was at a friend’s residence on Hickory Terrace in Keokuk. She had her infant son with her, and they both fell asleep on a bed located in a basement bedroom.

She awoke to find her son “head first and unresponsive inside of a trash can next to the bed,” the court document stated. The child had fallen asleep “on the inside portion of the bed” and the defendant believed he “must have crawled over or around her before falling into the trash can.”

Officers with the Keokuk Police Department responded to the home at about 2 p.m. that day and began lifesaving efforts on the child. Bush was there, too, and she apparently “exhibited signs of being under the influence of some form of narcotics as her demeanor was stoic and her speech appeared to be slurred.”

Law&Crime obtained body-worn camera footage of officers’ conversation with Bush at the residence. She tells them of her child, “he had rolled into the trash bag.”

Before falling asleep that day, Bush said she took Klonopin, a sedative that “produces a calming effect on the brain and nerves” and “helps to reduce anxiety, prevent seizures, and promote relaxation,” according to WebMD. She allegedly “did not know whom the pills belonged to,” according to the criminal complaint.

The next day, authorities got a search warrant to obtain a blood sample from Bush. She reportedly tested positive for methamphetamine and benzodiazepines, the latter of which is the classification for Klonopin. She told police she did not take any drugs from the time first responders arrived at her home to the time the drug test was taken, per the court document.

The baby was pronounced dead on Feb. 5 with the cause of death ruled to be asphyxia — a lack of oxygen.

Bush will serve her sentence at the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women.

Keokuk is located in southeastern Iowa, straddling the borders of Missouri and Illinois.

Woodson African American Museum Celebrates 20 Years with Grand Reopening in St. Pete

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — After seven months of extensive renovations, the Woodson African American Museum of Florida welcomed visitors once again on Saturday. The grand reopening, celebrating two decades of the museum’s commitment to preserving African American history, took place in St. Petersburg.

Since closing its doors in January, the museum has undergone significant upgrades. The revamp includes a complete interior makeover, with improved lighting, new flooring, updated restrooms, and enhancements to the HVAC system.

At the grand reopening ceremony, Executive Director Terri Lipsey Scott expressed her heartfelt emotions, reflecting on the museum’s significant milestone.

“Fulfilling each challenge you’ve set before me, time and again. Let me express my gratitude—let God,” Scott shared. “Lord, I simply thank you.”

Attendees felt that the reopening symbolized much more than just refurbished facilities.

State Rep. Michele Rayner (D-St. Petersburg) explained the museum was a symbol of perseverance.

“This is not just a museum, but this is actually a manifestation of what our ancestors fought for,” Rep. Rayner said. “When we think about our ancestors who couldn’t read, but they passed down oral histories to us. This is just the beginning of what is happening. Something very special is happening on this hallowed ground, and we, as people who are supporters and people who are residents and people who understand the power of history and the power of black history, we must ensure that it remains and that we can continue the work.”

The renovations were not the museum’s original plan.

In 2022, museum executives applied and were granted $1 million through the state department’s Florida African American Cultural and Historical Grant Program to help build what was envisioned as Florida’s first purpose-built African American museum.

That vision was tied to a previous redevelopment agreement for Tropicana Field and the Historic Gas Plant District, which included plans for a new museum.

The redevelopment deal collapsed in 2025, and museum leaders redirected the state funding toward renovating the existing facility.

“We ran against the clock, and with that being said, we made a tough decision to put those funds toward the renovation of our space,” Scott said.

St. Petersburg Mayor Ken Welch said the long-term goal of building a new museum remains alive despite the failed redevelopment agreement.

“I know there are some folks who say, ‘slow down, take a pause’; it’s not time to pause,” Welch said. “It’s been 40 years of promises, and we are moving forward with a development team that has promised a minimum $10 million investment in that new museum, and we’re going to keep moving forward.”

The museum will reopen to the public on Tuesday at noon. It is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Suspect Claims Diet Drug Influence in Fatal Shooting of Police Officer and New Father

0

Fulton County Police Officer Aaron Blount, a devoted father and fiancé known for his dedication to community service, was approaching the end of his shift when he noticed a vehicle swerving unpredictably. He decided to take action.

Tragically, just a few minutes later, the 26-year-old officer would lose his life.

The heartbreaking discovery came shortly after 10 p.m. on April 22, 2003. While patrolling his route in South Fulton County, Georgia, fellow Fulton County Police Officer Reginald McCain encountered a shocking scene.

“That night will forever be etched in my memory,” McCain shared during the fourth season opener of Oxygen’s The Real Murders of Atlanta. “I noticed a police vehicle with its blue lights flashing in the distance. It had veered off the road into a dense brush near railroad tracks.”

Realizing the car belonged to Blount, his adjacent beat partner and close friend, McCain approached and discovered a horrifying sight. The vehicle’s windows were shattered, and Blount was found slumped over the seat, still holding his gun. He had been shot multiple times in the body and head.

In the days that would follow, investigators set out to recreate Blount’s final movements, ultimately leading them to a suspect with no prior criminal record who deployed an unconventional defense.

Who Was Aaron Blount?

Blount grew up less than a mile from where he died and was committed to giving back to his community, whether it was through his work as a police officer or coaching and mentoring younger kids on the basketball court.

“Aaron definitely was a community guy,” his fiancée Nicole Manns recalled, “and that was important to him to kind of give back to where he grew up.”

Blount—a one-time student at the Naval Academy—was also eager to make a difference in the life of his own 13-month-old son, A.J., whom he shared with Manns.

As she explained, “He was an amazing father.”

What Happened to Aaron Blount?

On the evening of April 22, Manns was waiting for Blount to get off work.

“I knew he would be coming home soon and I called him and he said, ‘I’m on my way home,’” she recalled. “And he said, ‘Hey, this guy is driving crazy in front of me, I’m going to call you back.’”

It would be the last time she ever spoke with her fiancé.

Later that night, McCain made the grisly discovery along the roadway and called for backup. Former Fulton County Police Officer Charles Cook—the squad’s medic—was one of the first to arrive.

“Aaron was covered in blood on his head,” Cook recalled. “He had what appeared to be a bullet in the back of his shoulder and shirt. This is when I noticed Aaron had his gun out [and] had his finger on the trigger.”

Though he was rushed to Atlanta’s Grady Memorial Hospital, Blount did not survive.

“I just broke down and I started crying,” former Fulton County Police homicide detective Glenn Kalish remembered of hearing the news. “Not just for Aaron and the rest of the Fulton County Police Department, but I felt a lot of personal pressure on me being assigned this case and the weight of the case.”

Investigators Piece Together Final Moments of Aaron Blount’s Life

As detectives began to their investigation, they learned that there had been multiple 911 calls that night about a silver vehicle driving erratically not far from the murder scene.

They were also surprised to discover a handgun laying on the ground in the parking lot of a gas station, just across the road from where Blount’s vehicle had come to rest.

They came to believe that Blount had been following a car down the roadway when the driver hopped out at the gas station and waited for Blount to come around the corner, then fired directly into his vehicle, before setting the weapon down and fleeing the scene.

Injured, Blount likely took his foot off the brake, causing the patrol car to roll across Roosevelt Highway into the grassy area by the train tracks.

An eyewitness who had been driving by the gas station also came forward to share what he knew about the fatal shooting.

“We see the police got his lights on at the gas station,” the witness told police. “And as I was approaching the light, I heard a gunshot. And I saw a guy standing…at point blank range shooting through the window.”

According to his account, the shooter then turned and calmly walked away before getting into a silver Ford Focus.

He described the shooter as a larger Black male, around 6’2” tall and around 250 pounds or more.

Though the medical examiner was able to connect the weapon found at the scene to the bullets in Blount’s patrol car and body, a second gun had been used to deliver the shots to his head, leading investigators to believe the cold-blooded killer had used two separate weapons.

Kenneth G. Reese Emerges As Suspect in Aaron Blount’s Death

Investigators caught another break in the case when they learned the weapon that had been recovered at the scene was registered to Kenneth Reese.

Though authorities initially believed the weapon was linked to a fire department captain and arson investigator with a stellar reputation—sending shockwaves through the law enforcement community—they learned after speaking with Kenneth that he had a younger nephew with the same name, who often went by the nickname “Little Kenny.”

Little Kenny had no criminal record, but did own at least one firearm. Even more telling, investigators were able to link him to a silver Ford Focus rental car. Yet, according to Little Kenny’s family, he had gone to Florida and now appeared to be on the run.

“He came from a good family,” former homicide detective Melvin Dean said. “A real solid family in the community.”

Little Kenny’s grandmother was the first Black woman to own a gospel television network and his father was a professional wrestler turned celebrated minister. But when Little Kenny lost his father just one year before Blount’s death, those close to him say his life began to fall apart.

“His father’s death was such an impact on him,” a family spokesperson shared. “He was grieving so bad that he could not handle coming to his father’s funeral.”

According to the spokesperson, Little Kenny started carrying a gun and began showing signs of paranoia, believing that someone may be following him.

Who Killed Police Officer Aaron Blount?

Five days after Blount’s murder, Little Kenny was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals at a bus station in Miami and was charged with first-degree murder.

The district attorney announced that he was planning to seek the death penalty, but before the case could go to trial, his defense team came forward with evidence that he had been taking the diet drug ephedra—later banned by the FDA—which they argued had impaired his mental state.

After state psychiatrists also concluded that Little Kenny may have been suffering from drug-related psychosis at the time of the shooting, prosecutors decided to offer him a plea deal.

In exchange for removing the death penalty, Little Kenny agreed to plead guilty and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Blount’s family—including Manns and his now adult-son A.J.—continue to keep his memory alive.

“I want the people in Atlanta to remember that he protected his community. He protected his family,” Manns said. “He was just…a really good guy, a great dad, a great partner, a great friend, and I think they would be proud and should continue to be proud of him.”

Keir Starmer Lightheartedly Jibes Norwegian PM Following Thrilling World Cup Victory

(The Hill) — In a playful exchange, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer sportingly jested with Norway’s leader following England’s victory in their World Cup match against Norway on Saturday.

Starmer humorously remarked on social media, saying, “Norway 1 – 2 Jude Bellingham. @JonasGahrStore, your boys took one h-ll of beating,” as he referred to the key player in the game.

Jude Bellingham, a standout midfielder for England, was the star of the match, netting both of his team’s goals during the game held in Miami. Fans delightedly serenaded him with The Beatles’ iconic tune “Hey Jude” in celebration of the triumph.

Starmer, who declared last month his plans to step down from Britain’s highest political office, is a well-known sports enthusiast.

Adding to the celebrations, former English football legend David Beckham shared in the excitement by posting a congratulatory message to the team on Instagram.

“What a moment in miami, I’m so proud of the team tonight reaching the Semi final of the World Cup and to celebrate with my family was so special… Thank you @england for giving our country these moments,” he wrote alongside a photo of him and his family at the game.

England will now proceed to the semi-finals round of this tournament, where they will face the winner of the match between Argentina and Switzerland. The team has not played in a World Cup final since 1966.
