Sarasota County Animal Services Approaching Capacity as Staff Encourages Community Adoptions

SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Behind each closed kennel door waits a hopeful animal, wishing that today marks the moment someone will choose them as their new companion.

Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services is currently nearing its full capacity.

“At the moment, we have had to resort to utilizing overflow areas along with our designated dog adoption zone,” said Kristen Little, who coordinates foster volunteers at Sarasota County Animal Services.

She further explained, “These extra spaces are also being used for kittens since there are just so many of them. Whenever we have to turn to these overflow areas, it raises concerns about having available space for the continual influx of cats, kittens, and dogs arriving at the shelter.”

The shelter management emphasized that the current surge in animal population might result in significant challenges.

“When we get overcrowded, we start to see outbreaks of upper respiratory in both the dog and cat population,” Little said.

That’s why they’re encouraging the community to adopt.

Whether it’s a playful puppy, a laid-back senior dog, or an energetic kitten, staff said 26 dogs and 35 cats are waiting to find their forever homes.

“We’ve got a dog that loves to play in the pool, but he plays all by himself,” Little said. “He tosses his ball around and he just has the best time. We’ve got a bunch of just your average pets and they’re just looking for their couch.”

But leaders say adoption isn’t just about gaining a new family member; it’s also about making room for the next animal that comes through their doors.

“It’s kitten season, our cat room is bursting,” Little said. “We are just about there, so this is why we’re proactively telling the public we’ve got all these great cats, we’ve got all these great kittens, we’ve got amazing dogs. Please come take a look if you’re considering adopting.”

Shelter staff said every adoption or foster makes a difference, for the pet going home and the one waiting to come in.

Sarasota County Animal Services is located at 8451 Bee Ridge Road.

Throughout the summer, all kittens are “BOGO,” meaning you can get two kittens for the usual fee of $60.

The shelter is offering a summer adoption special for dogs: $40 adoption fee.

The adoption fees cover spay/neuter, microchip, first shots, heartworm negative status for dogs and FIV/FELV negative status for cats and kittens.

To adopt an animal, you can visit Sarasota County Animal Services weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 3 p.m.

A list of the adoptable animals can be found here.

Grieving Family Demands Justice: Uncovering the Truth Behind Nolan Wells’ Tragic Horn Island Incident

0

The parents of Nolan Wells have finally spoken out about their tragic loss.

Just four days after their 18-year-old son’s body was discovered, Christine and Elmore Wonsley addressed the public, sharing their thoughts for the first time regarding Nolan’s untimely death.

“We always emphasized to him the importance of sticking with the group,” Nolan’s father expressed during their interview on Good Morning America on July 10. “I would always say, ‘There’s safety in numbers.’ He was aware of this, so why would he leave the group? It’s a mystery to us.”

Christine reinforced this concern when addressing questions about Nolan’s friends, who reported they last saw him during a boat trip to Mississippi’s Horn Island on the Fourth of July.

“The friends left [Horn Island] and returned without Nolan,” noted Jackson County Sheriff John Ledbetter, as reported by ABC News. “From what we have gathered, it appears he decided to remain behind.”

But Nolan’s family is pushing back on the narrative that he willingly left his group, with Christine sharing, “I can’t fathom why he would.”

Nolan’s body was recovered July 6 off the shore of the island’s northwest end. Jackson County coroner Bruce Lynd Jr. told CBS News that an autopsy took place the next day, but findings have not yet been made public.

The family has also been suspicious about the contents of Nolan’s cellphone. Christine said one of her friends recovered the device after tracking it using Life360 (she did not say where the phone was found).

Christine claimed the phone’s location history differed from what his friends said Snapchat was telling them on their end. And she said no photos or videos from the trip were found on the social media platform.

“I was just like, ‘That can’t be.’ There was absolutely nothing,” Christine explained. “I’ve seen Nolan whenever he snaps. When he goes and he’s having fun, he does videos. There was absolutely nothing.”

All of these are questions the family is hoping to answer through an independent investigation.

“No young person leaves their cell phone,” civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump, who joined the Wonsleys in their GMA interview, told host Michael Strahan. “Why didn’t his body wash up with the tide on Sunday? Why would it come on Monday? It’s not adding up.”

This comes after Crump announced that he’s been retained by the family amid the law enforcement investigation.

“His family deserves answers. They deserve the truth,” he wrote on X. “We will not rest until every fact about what happened to Nolan on Horn Island is brought into the light, and we call on investigators to pursue this case with the urgency and transparency this family deserves.”

Meanwhile, Ledbetter previously shared in his ABC News interview that investigators don’t suspect foul play.

“There is no information that we have right now,” the sheriff said, “that would lead us to believe that a crime has occurred.”

Pentagon Unveils New UFO Files: Witnesses Share Astounding Testimonies

0

Washington — On Friday, the Pentagon unveiled an intriguing set of documents concerning UFOs, referred to as unidentified anomalous phenomena, featuring a notable report from an experienced military aviator. The aviator described encountering an object that was “unlike anything I had seen” throughout his 28 years of service.

This latest release encompasses 40 separate files, which include 14 documents, 19 videos, four audio recordings, and three images. These materials were sourced from several agencies, including the Pentagon, NASA, CIA, FBI, and the Department of Energy.

The newly released documents have been posted on the Pentagon’s UFO website, where files that have been made public are stored, following an executive order signed by President Trump earlier this year.

What’s in the new UFO files?

This disclosure continues a trend of previous releases, offering a combination of largely unredacted historical documents and videos, alongside other files that detail more recent occurrences.

Among the files, a particularly noteworthy document from the Energy Department describes an incident in September 2015, involving an unidentified object penetrating the airspace of the Pantex nuclear weapons facility located near Amarillo, Texas. This document includes firsthand accounts from two officers who pursued the object while the facility was placed on high alert.

“Although they were unable to catch up to the object, they stopped their vehicle and got out. Once outside, they noted that the object did not make any sound. Furthermore, the [officers] stated that they were unable to identify any type of propulsion system on the object while using binoculars to assess the object,” the report said. “After viewing it for 1-2 minutes, the object then continued north offsite.”

About half the files are dated from 2010 or later, with videos showing infrared footage captured by military cameras. The grainy images show unexplained objects and encounters from around the world, including over the western Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic and the Middle East.

One of those incidents occurred over the Atlantic in 2020. The files include footage of an object that “was a darker, maroonish color, approximately 12-15ft in height,” according to an accompanying report by a Navy crew member, which is heavily redacted.

“Structurally, it appeared as a large, somewhat deformed balloon, but we were unable to verify that as we passed at the merge,” the weapons systems officer wrote, followed by two redacted lines. “We then proceeded back to the ship, landing uneventfully.”

The report is known as a “range fouler debrief,” which the Pentagon described as “a standardized reporting form the U.S. Navy uses to record the circumstances surrounding an unauthorized intrusion into controlled airspace during active military operations or training.”

Another debrief documented an object that an aviator saw in 2019 over the Eastern U.S., along with four other personnel.

“I noticed an object with flight characteristics unlike anything I had seen in my 28 years of performing for the [Air Force] and Navy,” the aviator wrote. “A small object was below us and appeared to be traveling in a straight line opposite our direction at high speed. I tracked it for ~10-15 seconds before we turned on the recorder to provide the attached video. When I zoomed in to try and achieve more resolution, the object’s speed took out of my FOV and I was unable to reacquire, even at a lower zoom. Upon analysis after the flight, the object appeared to be rectangular. Others with equal or more experience were also unsure as to what this object might be.”

The video of the incident shows what appears to be an object traveling at high speed:

The most recent events described in the fourth batch of files came in 2025 near China, under the military’s Indo-Pacific Command. One video shows a military sensor tracking “an area of contrast resembling a six-pointed star” over the Yellow Sea. Another seems to track an object over the East China Sea for several minutes.

The historical records include the transcript of a 1949 conference in Los Alamos, New Mexico, of top physicists and scientists, including those who worked on the Manhattan Project. The conference attendees tried and failed to explain “green fireballs” that had been spotted over the nuclear lab. One theory held that they were meteors entering the atmosphere, but a prominent astronomer noted that “nothing like this … has ever been observed in the case of meteorite drops.”

The Pentagon said Friday’s release is not the last disclosure under the president’s executive order. “The Department of War and our agency partners are actively working on the next release of UAP files,” spokesman Sean Parnell said in a statement.

Ana Navarro’s Fiery Exchange on CNN After Challenging Question from Panelist

0

Ana Navarro found herself in a heated exchange with a newcomer Republican on CNN, after she listed victims of ICE shootings but faltered when challenged to name Americans who were victims of migrant violence.

The panel on NewsNight Thursday was deliberating over the killing of a 52-year-old Mexican national by a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer, an event that took place on Tuesday under tragic circumstances.

Navarro, at 54, characterized the incident as a matter of significant ‘outrage for most Americans.’ She also indicated that it highlighted a troubling pattern that warrants attention.

“This isn’t an isolated incident; there have been at least five individuals fatally shot by ICE on American streets,” the host of The View elaborated.

She proceeded to identify the five victims: Ruben Ray Martinez, aged 23; Silverio Villegas Gonzalez, 38; Keith Porter Jr, 43; Renée Good, 37; and Alex Pretti, also 37.

‘They killed them in Minnesota, and now Lorenzo Salgado Araujo,’ Navarro maintained, naming the slain Mexican national.

Caroline Sunshine – a former Disney Channel actress and Trump aide who first appeared on the program last month – immediately set out on putting Navarro on the spot.

‘Do you know the names as well of Americans who have been killed by illegal immigrants? Do you have that list?’ Sunshine, 30, asked. The clash that ensued quickly went viral.

‘I know some of the names. I don’t have the list, but I do know some of the names,’  Navarro said.

Sunshine pressed: ‘What are their names? What are some of their names?’

The line of questioning left Navarro visibly annoyed.

‘Listen, we have heard all of the names,’ the senior CNN political commentator said with a sigh, without sharing any of the names in question.

Sunshine again asked for ‘some of the names,’ leading Navarro to sit up in her seat.

‘This is not me doing a contest of whether you know the names, or whether I know the names,’ said Navarro.

Sunshine shot back there was no ‘contest.’

Navarro stressed that she merely ‘want[ed] to pronounce these names’ to attach names to faces – to which Sunshine said she agreed.

She then added that the public should also know the ‘faces of Americans who have been killed by illegal immigrants as well’, after which the two began to speak over each other.

‘Okay, but the people they killed don’t have criminal records,’ Navarro said, becoming increasingly frustrated.

‘What are their names?’ Sunshine asked again, before listing some herself.

‘And what are the names of people that have been killed by US citizens?’ Navarro suddenly snapped, in an attempt to turn the tables.

Sunshine asked how such a question was ‘relevant’.

‘Well, you want to start talking about people who have been killed? Then let’s start talking about people who have been killed in this country,’ Navarro replied.

‘But there’s a hell of a lot more people that have been killed by US citizens than people who have been killed by illegal aliens.

‘And that’s not what we are talking about right now.’

Host Abby Phillip ended the exchange by clarifying that the number of Americans killed in recent immigration sweeps was eight.

Sunshine starred in the Disney Channel series Shake It Up in the 2010s. She joined Trump’s White House in 2018, after starring in the TV movie Mommy, I Didn’t Do It in 2017. She worked there for nine months.

She made headlines in June for a viral clash with former Bill Clinton aide Keith Boykin about the administration’s current immigration policies.

Sunshine also clashed with ABC News contributor Tara Setmayer during a debate last week about Trump’s unsuccessful bid to end birthright citizenship as well.

Essential Recap for Spider-Man: Brand New Day Launch

A fresh start awaits Peter Parker, portrayed by Tom Holland, just in time for the release of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” on July 30. Wondering what you need to catch up on before diving into his next chapter? Watch our video above for all the essential details.

The last time we caught up with Peter, the heart-wrenching finale of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” saw him making the ultimate sacrifice. In a brave bid to protect the multiverse, Peter had Doctor Stephen Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, cast a spell that erased him from the memories of everyone he loved. His girlfriend MJ, played by Zendaya, and his best friend Ned, portrayed by Jacob Batalon, are now oblivious to his existence. As he comes to terms with the death of his beloved Aunt May, portrayed by Marisa Tomei, Peter embraces responsibility, pouring himself into his alter ego and distancing himself from personal connections.

Peter’s dealing with a whole lot in Spider-Man: Brand New Day

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” promises to change everything for Peter. According to the story synopsis, four years have flown by since “No Way Home.” Peter has been secretly fighting crime, collaborating with other heroes like Frank Castle, also known as the Punisher and played by Jon Bernthal, while staying on the fringes of his old social circle. He’s now pursuing higher education at Empire University, observing from a distance as Ned and MJ lead their lives without him.

However, an unforeseen transformation in Peter’s abilities flips his world upside down. He seeks out his professor, Bruce Banner—played by Mark Ruffalo—after a university lecture to understand the curious physical changes affecting him. Peter’s body has begun to evolve, manifesting organic web shooters and the peculiar ability to change eye color, among other odd developments. But Peter isn’t the only one experiencing these changes; the trailer reveals Bruce Banner unleashing his full “Savage Hulk” persona.

There are other hints that something dark is afoot. New Yorkers are acting under a sort of mind-control, with an uncertain origin point. Peter’s also dealing with a ton of new enemies as well as past foes. Want to know more about Peter Parker’s backstory? Click our video above.

Join the Elite: Kingsport Legion Seeks Veterans for Prestigious Honor Guard

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) – Standing as the largest and most impactful veterans service organization in the country, the American Legion is currently facing a pressing challenge — the urgent need for new members to sustain the meaningful work they do.

As the commander of American Legion Hammond Post 3 in Kingsport, Angelo Pellitteri has observed firsthand the aging demographic of the members. “Like many organizations, we’re aging. We need younger veterans to come forward, get involved, and take an active role,” Pellitteri emphasized.

In Kingsport, there is a heartfelt call for veterans to join the Honor Guard. This group, dedicated to honoring their fellow servicemen and women at funerals, is an integral part of a collaborative effort with the Gate City post.

“The Honor Guard is composed of both men and women committed to providing military honors at funeral services,” Pellitteri explained. “Based on the event, we also perform firing parties at civic activities, paying tribute to those who have served.”

The post also supports youth activities and participates in events.

“This past year, we’ve sent four cadets to Air Force summer leadership school up in Concord, West Virginia,” Pellitteri said. “We try to send kids to boys’ state and girls’ state. Of course, we participate in the parades.”

To be a member, you must have been honorably discharged. The post is hoping to gain enough members to form subsidiaries.

“There’s ways to donate,” Todd McKinley, the immediate past state commander, said. “We don’t have a Sons of the American Legion here at Post 3, but we would love to form a Sons of the American Legion. Which means if you have a relative, an immediate, like a father or mother, who has been a veteran, you can join. A grandmother, grandfather, you can also join.”

The organization also advocates for veterans’ benefits at the state and local levels.

“You sign on the dotted line, and you lived up to your end of the bargain,” McKinley said. “Why shouldn’t the VA or the federal government live up to their end of the bargain? And with fewer numbers involved in veteran service organizations, it’s easier for them to take those things away from you.”

The post would also like to bring back youth sports eventually.

“A lot of the programs that we have are actually youth-oriented programs,” McKinley said. “And the more people we have, the more programs we can actually do in our communities. People complain about, you know, there’s not enough youth sports leagues. Well, that’s something that we can bring to the table as the American Legion. We just need volunteers. We already have the template. We already know how to run these programs. We just need volunteers to be able to help stand them up.”

Post 3 meets on the third Monday of the month at the V.O. Dobbins Senior Complex. Find more information about them here, or email McKinley directly to get involved.

Desperate 911 Call: NJ Husband Pleads for CPR Aid After Discovering Wife Fatally Stabbed

0

In the tranquil community of Chester, New Jersey, a shocking and heartbreaking incident unfolded in early June. Conor Hanlon placed a desperate call to 911 after discovering his wife, Brooke Hanlon, unconscious and unresponsive on the floor of their home. The urgency in his voice was palpable as he pleaded with the operator for CPR instructions.

The unsettling events of June 6 took a tragic turn when investigators from the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office arrived at the Hanlon residence. They found Brooke, only 35 years old, deceased with what were described as “multiple sharp force injuries.” The devastating loss left the community and her loved ones in shock.

During the 911 call, Conor Hanlon’s distress was evident as he struggled with the grim reality unfolding before him. “I just found my wife… CPR, I need CPR instructions,” he implored, his voice carrying the weight of the moment.

In the weeks following the tragedy, Conor has been spotted in Brighton, Massachusetts, where the couple’s infant currently resides with family as they navigate this difficult time. The painful memories and weight of the loss follow him, as observed by News Media on July 9, 2026, when he was seen leaving a residence in Massachusetts.

Conor Hanlon, now a widower, faces the daunting task of life without Brooke. The image of him captured by Rashid Umar Abbasi is a reflection of a man carrying the burden of grief, his life’s path forever altered by that grim day in June.

“I need you here. I need you here immediately,” he said.

When the 911 operator asked if she was bleeding and not conscious, Conor Hanlon can be heard screaming, “No!”

Conor Hanlon has obtained a lawyer and has been communicating with investigators, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office previously said.

News Media previously obtained a Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) log of a 911 call made at the home on June 6, which was initially reported as a “Cardiac or Respiratory Arrest.”

The 911 call was placed at 4:29 p.m., and at 4:42 p.m., a dispatcher entered a “suspicious death” note on the file.

One of the Hanlons’ neighbors told News Media, “There was a lot of activity out there on the 6th. I’d talked to Conor a few times before. We mostly texted. We’ve lived here about a year, and he’d text me whenever bears were around.”

Court records show Conor Hanlon has no prior arrests or criminal history. He hasn’t been accused of any crime nor wrongdoing.

Platner Withdraws from Senate Race: Official Announcement

0

The Issue: Graham Platner withdraws from the Maine Senate race amid new allegations of sexual abuse.

The decision by Graham Platner to halt his campaign for the U.S. Senate is both a significant development and a cautionary tale for Americans (“Plat out of Maine race,” July 9).

Platner’s presence in the political realm has been likened to a metastasizing cancer within the Democratic Party. The term “Democratic Socialism” risks being overshadowed by a rising tide of what some call “Democratic sociopaths.” This sentiment is echoed in the profile of a sociopath: individuals who frequently disregard others’ rights and feelings, showing a lack of empathy and remorse, and often resorting to manipulation or deceit for personal benefit.

Martin Garfinkle

Staten Island

Platner may be a “repugnant dirtbag,” but is he really more repugnant or a bigger dirtbag than the president who brags about grabbing women’s genitals, lies about elections, pardoned Jan. 6 criminals, protects Epstein pedophiles, trashes our allies, praises our enemies, was found liable in the E. Jean Carroll case, misused charitable funds, paid off a porn star and much more?

Matt Dwyer

Naples, Fla.

What has the Democratic Party come to? It was apparent from the outset that Platner was not a decent human being. Yet Sens. Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Chuck Schumer and Cory Booker and Rep. Ro Khanna all endorsed him.

The Democratic Party no longer represents “We the People.” Instead, it is focused on pursuing an agenda that, in my view, would undermine Western civilization as we know it.

Jim Millar

Fitzwilliam, NH

The Post’s editorial chronicling Democrats’ sad trip on the Platner roller-coaster can be cut down to a fragment buried in the middle of the piece: “Democrats have been so wrapped up in their Trump hate, they failed to . . .” Fill in the blank (“Dems’ Moral Bankruptcy,” July 8).

Trump has played them so well that they are continuously on the back foot, so frazzled that they are unable to organize effective opposition to his policies.

Warren Nitti

Edgewater, NJ

This Platner situation is not new. When former Gov. Andrew Cuomo was facing public outcry over 16,000 senior citizens dying, Democrats quickly switched to sexual predator allegations.

The reason is simple: It does less damage to the party, as the focus is on the morality of the individual, rather than the political decisions of a Democrat. Eric Swalwell shared the same fate.

Robert Sanfilippo

N. Bellmore

The Issue: Ex-Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel calling for an end to America’s support of Israel.

Your editorial on Rahm Emanuel confirms that politicians talk way too much, are often wrong and think whatever they say is prescient (“Rahm Emanuel Sells Out Israel,” July 9).

Silence has its place in the public square, but pols feel compelled to contribute to the discourse no matter how foolish their message.

Emanuel showed off his ridiculous line of parity on Middle East relations by excoriating Israel on several matters, despite being wrong on all counts.

Rich Klitzberg

Princeton, NJ

Emanuel wants to enhance his electoral chances by joining the chorus of Israel-bashers. My father — a survivor of the Holocaust from a large extended family — would tell him that such pandering won’t work at all.

When the haters go after the Jews, they’re coming for Emanuel, Brad Lander and Bernie Sanders along with the rest of us.

Jack Weinberg

Manhattan

With President Trump at the helm, assisted by Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, we don’t need a former Chicago mayor’s advice on foreign relations.

King Charles Welcomes Prince Harry, Meghan, Along with Archie and Lilibet

0

Yesterday marked a heartfelt reunion as the saw his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, once again.

Charles and Camilla discreetly welcomed Harry, Meghan, and their two children at Highgrove for a much-anticipated family gathering.

The reunion took place at the monarch’s private residence in Gloucestershire, conveniently located near both Oxfordshire, where Charles had been engaged in official duties, and Birmingham, where Prince Harry attended an Invictus Games countdown event.

The meeting was organized under a veil of confidentiality.

It had been since 2022 that Charles last saw Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who were then just three and one year old. He last met with Harry, now 41, in September of the previous year. Tensions rose earlier this week when Charles had to publicly correct an inaccurate claim from Harry’s PR team suggesting he had accepted an invitation to stay at Buckingham Palace during his UK visit.

In fact, after weeks of refusing his father’s invitation, he accepted too late.

Harry arrived in the UK on Monday. The following day he lost his High Court case alleging wrong-doing by Associated Newspapers, the publishers of the Daily Mail, and yesterday he started the year-long countdown to his Invictus Games.

Meghan and the children slipped into Britain unnoticed from their holiday home in Europe.

Buckingham Palace refused to discuss any further details of what was described as a ‘private family occasion’.

The King and his senior officials had always hoped for a low-key, ‘peaceful’ family reconciliation, but weeks of leaks and briefings by Team Sussex had left them both ‘weary and wary’.

Both Charles and Camilla have been vilified by the prince in multiple interviews and documentaries, not to mention his memoir and sources described the situation as ‘sad’ for the King who is 77 and still living with cancer.

No images of yesterday’s meeting will be released. And, while the move will be welcomed as a thaw in family relations, palace courtiers will no doubt be carefully watching the Sussexes next move.

Meanwhile, although they were barely 100 miles apart on public engagements yesterday Prince William and his estranged brother might still have been on different sides of the Atlantic.

The heir to the throne was supported by his beaming wife, the Princess of Wales, as he led his team to victory in the DMMI Royal Charity Cup at the Guards Polo Club at Windsor.

Sporting an eye-catching black and white gingham Alice Temperley dress with £260 low-heeled nude Camilla Elphick sling-backs, Catherine, 44, cheered her husband from the sidelines then presented him with a trophy – and a kiss on each cheek for good measure – before they left, smiling, hand in hand.

The event was raising funds for ten charities supported by the couple, ranging from homelessness to mental health. In the 15 years William has taken part in the event he has helped to raise more than £15million for good causes.

By contrast Prince Harry was riding solo at an event in Birmingham to mark the one-year countdown to his Invictus Games for injured service personnel, which returns to the UK next July. Barely days ago his spokesman had announced that Meghan would be joining him as part of a week of public engagements.

Even after Harry, 41, began prevaricating about the trip over apparent fears for his family’s security, his team were stressing to friendly media that she still planned to attend.

But on Thursday night his spokesman announced the Duchess of Sussex had pulled out.

They said she still planned to travel to England with their children but would no longer take part in public events.

However it was strongly hinted that she would be present for ‘private’ family moments, raising the prospect of a meeting with the King, as well as what has been described as a ‘family reunion’ with the Spencer family at Althorp, Princess Diana’s ancestral home.

In Birmingham one observer said Harry had his ‘game face’ on. He gave an ‘interview’ to This Morning’s Alison Hammond, which consisted mainly of her telling him how wonderful he was, as well as a speech in which he urged people to learn from the ‘Invictus community’.

Tony Berry Receives 21-Year Sentence for Kidnapping and Murder of Krystal Anderson

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. () – Tony Berry has received a prison sentence following his guilty plea to Manslaughter and Kidnapping in connection with the 2022 killing of Krystal Anderson in Aiken County.

The Aiken County Judicial Center announced that Berry was given 21 years for Voluntary Manslaughter and an additional 21 years for Kidnapping. The sentences will run concurrently.

Krystal Anderson, a mother of four, was reported missing by her family in August 2022 after she failed to communicate with them. She and Berry had been in a relationship for eight years.

When Anderson showed no further signs of activity, Berry became a suspect in her kidnapping and was later charged with her murder.

Anderson’s remains were discovered on May 13, 2026, in Barnwell County.

“Today, the Second Judicial Circuit Solitior’s Office recognizes that no amount of time is enough when a life is taken, but hopes that this resolution brings some modicum of justice and allows the family some closure for this horrific crime,” the statement release Friday reads in part.
