Trump Postpones Jay Clayton’s Intel Director Nomination to Leverage Congressional Action on Voting Legislation

0

President Trump has decided to postpone the nomination of Jay Clayton for the role of Director of National Intelligence. This delay is linked to a strategic push to have James McDonald confirmed as a U.S. attorney, which Trump hopes will pressure Congress into passing his voter ID legislation.

Clayton was originally scheduled to appear at a Capitol Hill hearing on Wednesday. His nomination process had been expedited following the recent expiration of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) last Friday.

Currently serving as the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District, the 59-year-old lawyer was chosen to succeed Tulsi Gabbard, who stepped down from her position as the leader of the U.S. intelligence community in May.

“With regards to the approval of our Great Patriot, Jay Clayton, we are canceling the Senate Hearing concerning the DNI today. We will not proceed until James McDonald is confirmed as U.S. Attorney,” President Trump, now 80, communicated via Truth Social on Wednesday morning.

McDonald has been proposed to take over Clayton’s former position as the Manhattan U.S. Attorney. This influential role holds significant sway over key terrorism cases across the nation.

“I may not be able to get the extraordinary Sullivan & Cromwell Partner, Jamie, approved, and I don’t want to take Jay Clayton away from the great job he is doing until Jamie is in place,” Trump said.

Trump slammed the Democrats for breaking a deal that would have confirmed Clayton and passed FISA.

“The Republicans agreed with Dumocrats to remove very fair, and talented, William Pulte, from serving as Acting DNI in return for getting FISA approved by the Dumocrats,” Trump wrote.

“However, the Republicans moved so fast with the hearings of the Great Jay Clayton, current U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, that Pulte would be gone before the Dumocrats would vote on FISA. Now, the Dumocrats are saying they will vote against FISA — So, the Republicans wound up having fulfilled their commitment, but Dumocrats broke the Deal.”

Senators from both parties had opposed Trump’s pick of Pulte because of his apparent lack of experience in the intelligence field.

Trump announced Wednesday that he is appointing Bill Pulte as the acting Director of National Intelligence despite the bipartisan opposition.

Trump, who is in France to attend the G7 Summit, called for the Senate to confirm James McDonald as Clayton’s successor as Manhattan US Attorney before confirming Clayton.

Trump gave an additional addendum to his demands, saying he wouldn’t sign FISA until the SAVE America Act was attached.

“To add a slight bit of intrigue but, for the Good of the Nation, and the People of our Country, I will not approve FISA without THE SAVE AMERICA ACT going along with it,” he wrote.

The SAVE America Act includes a proof of citizenship requirement to vote and a slew of other conservative wish-list items.

Trump Urges Netanyahu to ‘Be More Responsible’ Amid Growing Tensions

0

IN BRIEF

  • Donald Trump said Israel’s fight against Hezbollah is taking “too long” and has too many casualties.
  • Israel’s latest attack on Lebanon could threaten a tentative peace deal between the US and Iran set to be signed on Friday.

Once hailed as the “greatest” of allies, the relationship between U.S. President Donald Trump and Israel has taken a hit, with Trump expressing criticism over Israel’s approach to Hezbollah, hinting at a growing divide between the nations’ leaders.

During discussions on Tuesday, Trump advised Israel to allow Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa to handle Lebanon’s Hezbollah, backed by Iran, highlighting that Israel’s military actions were resulting in excessive casualties.

While attending the G7 summit in France, Trump praised Sharaa, stating he is doing an “amazing job.”

Trump remarked, “If Israel cannot manage [Hezbollah] without significant loss of life, then Sharaa will take over. Syria will manage the situation,” he elaborated.

Describing Sharaa as competent in dealing with Hezbollah, Trump pointed out that the Syrian leader, formerly a jihadist who rose to power following Bashar al-Assad’s downfall, “is no boy scout” and does not favor Hezbollah.

Israel “is fighting Hezbollah too long and too many people are being killed,” he said.

“I suggested to Israel to let Syria take care of Hezbollah as, to be honest with you, I think they would do a better job,” said Trump.

Following reports that his relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was in decline, Trump said “Bibi [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu] has to be more responsible with respect to Lebanon”.

“I am not happy with the way Israel had handled themselves with Lebanon and Hezbollah. They should have been able to do the job faster,” he said.

The tension comes as Trump criticises recent Israeli attacks in Lebanon, which threatened to jeopardise negotiations between the US and Iran. Trump has been pushing for a deal as he faces political blowback at home, where the war is unpopular and has driven up petrol prices.

“If Netanyahu gets in between something Trump really wants, and that’s out of this war, he’s prepared to use the leverage that he has,” said Aaron David Miller, who served as an adviser on Middle East issues to Democratic and Republican administrations over two decades.

An agreement is scheduled to be signed on Friday in Geneva. Trump told the G7 Summit Netanyahu was aware he is unhappy with Israel’s recent moves.

“Without the US, there would be no Israel. Without me, there would be no Israel because no other president was willing to do what I did,” Trump said.

“I have had a great relationship with Bibi. Now Bibi has to be more responsible with respect to Lebanon.”

There has long been a bipartisan consensus around supporting Israel in Washington, but that has frayed recently.

Some Americans have become increasingly outraged by Israel’s treatment of Palestinians, especially during the war in Gaza, and conservatives have questioned the importance of longstanding US support for Israel — many have concerns about antisemitism.

Trump’s latest comments drew swift criticism from left-leaning groups.

“He is framing Israel’s mere existence as contingent on him,” said Halie Soifer, who leads the Jewish Democratic Council of America.

“It’s deeply offensive to the vast majority of Jews who care about Israel’s future.”

Former US president Joe Biden and and former vice president Kamala Harris often disagreed with Netanyahu during the war in Gaza, and sometimes criticised him publicly. However, they were more circumspect to avoid facing accusations of being anti-Israel.

Conservative, pro-Israel groups were divided on the seriousness of Trump’s public condemnation of Netanyahu.

Republican Jewish Coalition president Matt Brooks described Trump’s criticism as little more than the inevitable disagreement among family members.

Brooks dismissed that any muted criticism of Trump’s comments from his party represented a mixed political message because Trump has been reliably supportive of Israel as president.

“If Biden or Harris said something critical, it came from the position of someone who was hostile toward or didn’t have the same level of support for Israel that President Trump has,” Brooks said.

He noted the first Trump administration’s role in moving the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and the return of Israeli hostages from Gaza during the president’s second term, among other acts.

Biden had criticised Netanyahu’s handling of the war in Gaza, though Trump’s criticism of Netanyahu comes with a “tremendous reservoir of goodwill on this issue that neither Biden nor Harris ever had”.

Pro-Israel advocate Mort Klein said Trump should have kept the comments private, especially in light of his public praise over the years of authoritarian leaders in Türkiye, North Korea and China.

Klein, president of the conservative Zionist Organisation of America, said he worried that Trump was making the comments in public to appeal to Israel critics “because he sees that Americans have become more hostile toward Israel than they’ve ever been”.

“That worries me.”

Armie Hammer Breaks Silence: The Shocking Truth About His Share of the $180M Family Fortune

0

Armie Hammer has clarified that he hasn’t received a substantial portion of his family’s fortune, which would allow him to retire from acting.

The 39-year-old actor, in a candid discussion with The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday, shared that he did not come into life-altering wealth following the death of his father, Michael Armand Hammer, in November 2022. Michael Hammer passed away at the age of 67 after battling cancer.

Hammer, a Los Angeles native and great-grandson of the late industrialist Armand Hammer, told the publication, “It’s one of those situations that’s so complex, you practically need a tax attorney to grasp it completely.”

Reports indicate that Armand Hammer left behind an $800 million estate when he passed in December 1990, from which Armie’s father inherited $180 million.

However, the “Call Me By Your Name” star explained that the financial outcome after his father’s passing didn’t provide him with lifelong security. “The end result wasn’t that I’m set for life, or even for the next few years,” Hammer remarked. “It hasn’t been like that.”

Hammer, who has also been seen in films such as The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and The Lone Ranger, fell into controversy in early 2021 after several women accused him of sex abuse and an obsession with cannibalism.

He was subsequently dropped from his agency WME and lost a number of roles he had on tap, including the Jennifer Lopez film Shotgun Wedding and the Paramount Plus series The Offer.

Hammer told the outlet that he cared for his ailing father in his final years in the Cayman Islands, where the family owned property.

‘I would bathe him and cook food for him and feed him and change his diapers and do all that stuff,’ the actor said.

Hammer said he and his late father worked through yearslong tensions in his final days.

‘We got to have all those conversations,’ Hammer said. ‘We got to have an amends with each other. We got to really move through it.

‘And then I got to be there holding his hand when he died. Which is like a gift.’

Hammer spoke with the outlet amid an attempted Hollywood comeback, as it was reported that he’s been renting a Los Angeles area home after residing for years in the Cayman Islands in the wake of his scandals.

The Social Network actor said that there has been a period of readjustment amid his relocation.

‘I was back in a city that felt like it used to be my city, but it had moved on without me,’ Hammer told the outlet. ‘I made these problems for myself.

Hammer reflected on the consequences of his past actions, which left him unemployable in show business for a five-year stretch.

‘This didn’t happen to me by a fluke accident,’ he said. ‘I didn’t do what people are saying I did. But I brought very dangerous and unsafe people into my life, and I pissed off people in my life – and here we are.’

Hammer told THR he gained a measure of clarity in the days following his father’s passing as he had a discussion with ‘an old Jamaican guy’ bemoaning how friends in show business would text him with supportive messages, but not take up for him publicly.

The man laid forth an analogy to Hammer, asking if he would want his friends to get burned if his house was on fire.

‘I would want them to stay as far away from the fire as possible,’ Hammer concluded, to which the man told him, ‘Now you’re thinking like a real friend,’ before wandering off.

He said of the impactful exchange: ‘I think that was a spiritual moment – Joseph Campbell would have called it a mentor moment in my hero’s journey, whatever the f*** that is.’

Survivors Share Harrowing Merrillville Tornado Experience as Region Braces for New Severe Weather Threat

0

In Merrillville, Indiana, Joe and Marlene Trevino have returned to their devastated home, sifting through the remnants left by a powerful tornado that struck the area a week ago. The experience has left them not only in shock but also filled with apprehension about what the future might hold.

Their once cherished yard, a symbol of their shared life, is now a scene of ruin, bearing the scars of an EF-2 tornado that swept through with little warning.

ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watch

“It’s hard to wrap our heads around it every time we see the damage,” Joe Trevino remarked. “This was where we built our life, our home.”

The tornado’s fury was unleashed within moments. As the storm loomed, the couple quickly realized the imminent threat.

“A fully grown bush, at least five feet tall, flew past a tree right before our eyes,” Joe recalled. “That’s when I knew we had to move, and fast!”

The couple grabbed their dog, Roger, and ran to the lowest level of their home, barely making it in time.

“As we were going down the stairs, we could see daylight in the home, so the roof was already coming on, so we’re lucky to be alive,” Trevino said.

“It was tough. We just wanted to be alive. We were just hugging each other, and you know, praying to God that we’re going to be alive,” he added.

After the storm passed, Marlene Trevino recorded their first look at the damage-capturing a home without a roof and a lifetime of memories gone.

“I came out of our garage, and all the debris are all over, and I can’t believe our house is gone just like that, you know? I’m just under three minutes– gone,” she said.

For the family, the loss is compounded by financial strain. Trevino, a BP refinery worker in Whiting, has been without a paycheck since March amid a labor dispute.

“Things were tough and tight as it was, and then now we got this,” he said.

Despite everything, the couple says they are focused on what remains.

“At the end of the day, it’s stuff. Me and her, and the dog are alive, so we’re blessed,” Trevino said.

Officials say the storm’s impact has also led to tragedy elsewhere. A couple from Palos Hills survived the storm while in Portage but later died from carbon monoxide poisoning after using a portable generator.

With more storms expected, officials urge residents to use generators safely-keeping them at least 20 feet from homes and ensuring carbon monoxide alarms are installed on every level.

Shocking Words from Joy Behar: JD Vance’s Surprising Reaction Post-‘The View

0

Vice President JD Vance expressed his surprise at the reception he received from the hosts of “The View.”

Vance appeared on the show on Tuesday to promote his new spiritual memoir, “Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith,” as part of his ongoing book tour.

“I anticipated a really tough crowd, but they were actually not as harsh as I expected,” Vance shared during his appearance on “Gutfeld!” later that day.

He recounted a moment with Joy Behar, saying, “During a break, Joy Behar turned to me and said, ‘You know what? You’re, like, pretty good for a Republican.’

“I was taken aback,” Vance added. “That was a far more positive comment than I anticipated from Joy Behar.”

It wasn’t, however, all sunshine and rainbows for Vance in his debut appearance on the ABC daytime talk show.

“I thought that Sunny, the woman to my left, was going to call me a racist. In reality, it was Whoopi, the woman to my right, who called me a racist. So expectations were defied,” Vance joked.

Vance was likely referencing an exchange he had with co-host Whoopi Goldberg, who grilled him over allegations that the Trump administration watered down or removed exhibits of black history at various museums, an assertion Vance combatted.

He and “The View” co-hosts clashed on several topics, like President Trump’s recent comments about inflation as well as immigration.

Speaking with Fox News Digital ahead of the appearance on “The View,” Vance was hopeful that he’d have a productive conversation with the liberal ladies.

“It may be the optimist in me, but I just fundamentally think that most people — not everybody, but most people — even if I disagree with them, you ought to try to have a conversation with them,” Vance told Fox News Digital in a sit-down interview Monday.

“We’re going to go and try to have a good conversation. I hope they meet me halfway. I’m a little skeptical, but we’ll see,” he added.

Achieve Elite Core Strength: How Over-50s Can Master the Plank for Maximum Fitness

0

Can you maintain a steady plank for over 90 seconds after reaching the age of 50? Here’s what your endurance reveals.

At first glance, holding a plank might not seem like a challenge. You position yourself on your forearms, extend your legs, and remain still. But as the seconds tick by, the real challenge unfolds. Your shoulders begin to engage, your core muscles contract, your glutes activate, and your entire body must remain aligned without faltering.

Post-50, this skill becomes significantly more important than many might think. A strong core is crucial for supporting the spine, enhancing posture control, and maintaining stability during everyday activities. Whether it’s carrying bags, taking long walks, standing stationary, rising from the floor, or navigating workouts, a robust midsection is key to sustaining tension and control.

As a fitness trainer, I frequently incorporate planks into my sessions because they quickly reveal how a person manages their body alignment. I observe their bracing technique, breathing patterns, and the ability to prevent hip drop as they tire. While a lengthy hold can be impressive on paper, the true value lies in maintaining a solid body line throughout the exercise. When that happens, the plank test is meaningful.

I often use planks with clients because they give a quick read on how someone manages their position. I’m looking at how they brace, how they breathe, and how well they keep their hips from dipping as fatigue builds. A long hold looks impressive on paper, but the position tells the real story. If the body line stays strong, the test means something.

That’s what makes the plank such a useful benchmark. It combines core strength, muscular endurance, shoulder stability, and full-body control into a single test. Up next, we’ll break down why the plank matters after 50, how to perform it correctly, what your hold time says about your core strength, and how to build a stronger, longer-lasting plank.

Why the Plank Is a Strong Core Strength Test After 50

The plank challenges your core to maintain a strong position for your spine and pelvis. Your abs brace the front of your body, your obliques help control unwanted movement, and your glutes help keep your hips level. Your shoulders and upper back also stay active, so you can support your body over your forearms.

That full-body connection gives the plank a lot of carryover. Your core links your upper and lower body, which matters during almost every movement you make. When that link stays strong, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, and getting up from the ground all feel more controlled. The plank trains that connect without needing equipment or a complicated setup.

The endurance piece also matters. Holding the position forces your muscles to stay engaged while you breathe and manage fatigue. As the clock runs, the challenge becomes keeping your hips level, your ribs down, and your body in one strong line. A strong plank shows that your core can support your body for more than a few seconds.

How to Perform a Proper Plank Hold

A strong plank starts with a clean setup. Your elbows should sit under your shoulders, your ribs should stay pulled down, and your hips should line up with the rest of your body. Once you’re set, the goal is to hold steady tension through your core, glutes, and upper back. Every second should look like the first one.

How to Do It:

  1. Place your forearms on the floor with your elbows directly under your shoulders.
  2. Extend your legs behind you with your feet about hip-width apart.
  3. Brace your core by tightening your midsection and pulling your ribs down.
  4. Squeeze your glutes to keep your hips level.
  5. Hold a straight line from your head through your hips to your heels.
  6. Breathe steadily while maintaining the same position.

Movement standard: Your plank counts when your body stays in a straight line, your hips remain level, and your lower back stays neutral. Stop the timer when your hips drop, your back arches, or your shoulders lose position.

Best Variations: High Plank, Incline Plank, Side Plank, RKC Plank, Stability Ball Plank.

Plank Hold Standards After 50: What Your Time Means

Your plank time should reflect a clean position, not a survival position. Keep the same body line, hip height, and breathing rhythm from start to finish. Once the position changes, record the time you held it with proper form.

  • Under 30 seconds: You’re building the foundation. Focus on bracing well, keeping your hips level, and holding shorter sets with strong form.
  • 30 to 60 seconds: This is a solid base. Your core can support your body with good control, and you’re building the endurance needed for daily movement.
  • 60 to 90 seconds: You’re in strong territory. Your core holds position well, your hips stay steady, and your body maintains tension as the hold gets more demanding.
  • 90+ seconds: This is elite after 50. Holding a clean plank this long shows excellent core strength, muscular endurance, and body control.

How to Build Core Strength and Plank Endurance After 50

Building a better plank starts with better tension. The goal is to create a strong brace, keep your hips steady, and hold a position that looks the same from the first second to the last. That takes practice, but it also takes smart strength work around the plank. Your glutes, shoulders, upper back, and breathing all play a role in how long you can hold the position. When those pieces improve, the plank feels stronger and your time starts to climb.

  • Practice planks regularly: Start with two to three sets a few times per week. Keep each hold clean and controlled.
  • Use shorter holds with better quality: Sets of 20 to 40 seconds with strong form build the base for longer holds.
  • Set your position before the timer starts: Stack your elbows under your shoulders, pull your ribs down, and squeeze your glutes.
  • Train your breathing: Slow, steady breaths help you hold tension without stiffening up too early.
  • Strengthen your glutes and hips: Bridges, hip thrusts, and carries help support better pelvic control during planks.
  • Add anti-rotation exercises: Pallof presses, suitcase carries, and side planks build the trunk stability that supports a stronger hold.
  • Build shoulder stability: Farmer carries, rows, and controlled push-up variations help your upper body support the plank position.
  • Retest every few weeks: Use the same setup and movement standard each time to keep your progress clear.

A plank gives you a simple way to test how well your core can hold tension under fatigue. If you can hold a clean plank past 90 seconds after 50, your core strength sits in an elite range. That strength carries into how you move, train, lift, carry, and stay steady throughout the day.

Anna Faris and Chris Pratt: Navigating Life Post-Divorce – Where Do They Stand Now?

At one time, Anna Faris and Chris Pratt were the quintessential Hollywood couple, embodying what many considered a perfect love story. With Faris, the comedic star rising through the entertainment industry, and Pratt, the lovable character from “Parks and Recreation,” their union seemed destined for greatness. However, their shocking divorce shattered that illusion. Recently, Faris attended the “Scary Movie 6” premiere with Jack, her and Pratt’s 13-year-old son, evoking memories of their once-celebrated relationship.

Their romance began on the set of “Take Me Home Tonight,” leading to their marriage in 2009. They welcomed their son, Jack, in 2012, though his birth was fraught with anxiety as he spent time in the NICU. Despite appearing to be a happy family, the couple announced their separation in 2017, finalizing their divorce a year later. In the aftermath, both focused on amicable co-parenting while maintaining privacy. Pratt moved on swiftly, proposing to Katherine Schwarzenegger in early 2019, months after his divorce was finalized. Meanwhile, Faris found love again, marrying cinematographer Michael Barrett in 2021.

Their commitment to co-parenting was evident in 2025, when they were seen together for Jack’s sixth-grade graduation—the first public appearance together in nearly seven years. As reported by Page Six, the ex-couple shared friendly interactions, taking photos and engaging in conversation, demonstrating a healthy relationship from afar. Faris elaborated on her bond with Pratt and Schwarzenegger in an interview with People, expressing gratitude for their support: “They’re very protective of me, and I want to be very protective of them.”

Nonetheless, the dynamics of Faris and Pratt’s relationship during their marriage have intrigued many, with questions about the reasons behind their split. On her “Anna Faris Is Unqualified” podcast, she speculated with guest Gwyneth Paltrow, “My two other marriages were with actors, and I don’t think we did a great job of eliminating competitiveness.” This insight reflects the challenges they faced as Faris enjoyed a thriving career while Pratt was just beginning to make his mark in Hollywood with his role in “Parks and Recreation.” According to Us Weekly, a source suggested that Pratt “never felt ‘good enough’ for Anna Faris, and then when their relationship started to go downward, he was angry and not liking who he was.”

The years following the divorce shed some light on what exactly was causing trouble in paradise

That being said, there’s a lot to unpack when it comes to Anna Faris and Chris Pratt’s relationship when they were still together. Many wondered why the two divorced in the first place. On her “Anna Faris Is Unqualified” podcast, Faris mused to guest Gwyneth Paltrow, “My two other marriages were with actors, and I don’t think we did a great job of eliminating competitiveness.” It all makes sense when taking their careers into consideration. At the time they met, Faris was in the midst of a booming career while Pratt was scratching the surface of Hollywood before locking in his breakout role in “Parks and Rec” — a breeding ground for toxic competition. According to Us Weekly, a source revealed that Pratt “never felt ‘good enough’ for Anna Faris, and then when their relationship started to go downward, he was angry and not liking who he was.”

In 2022, Pratt fell under fire after the birth of his daughter with Katherine Schwarzenegger. In a tribute post to Schwarzenegger, Pratt gushed that she had provided him with “a gorgeous healthy daughter.” Many believe that this comment was a jab at Faris and her son, Jack, who experienced several health issues due to being born premature. While Jack is now perfectly healthy, many found the comment insensitive. Pratt, of course, denied any ill will behind the comment. Pratt and Faris’ relationship seems to stand as cordial today, but it’s important to note that getting buff, divorcing your wife, and getting engaged shortly after is never a good look.

Brooklyn Beckham’s Ventures: Leveraging the Beckham Legacy

0

Brooklyn Beckham has stirred controversy recently following an Instagram advertisement for DoorDash, where he seemingly jabbed at his parents.

The 27-year-old, often labeled as a “nepo baby,” teamed up with the food delivery company for a promotional video. In the clip, he casually remarks, “You might be curious why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home… It’s quite a tale.”

Observers have interpreted this as a dig at his estranged parents, David and Victoria Beckham, who reportedly are heartbroken and distraught over the implied criticism.

The public’s response to Brooklyn’s video hasn’t been positive, with many accusing him of exploiting the family dispute for financial gain. Critics also claim this act contradicts his earlier statement from January, where he criticized “Brand Beckham.”

In that detailed six-page declaration, Brooklyn accused his parents of prioritizing “public promotion and endorsements above all else,” and described their actions as “performative.”

Yet while he may have been quick to point the finger at his parents, Brooklyn also has a lengthy history of using ‘Brand Beckham’ to land work.

In 2024, Brooklyn claimed that he was ready to stand on his own two feet as he promoted his new upcoming hot sauce range, Cloud 23.

He explained that the name was inspired by the No 23 shirt which David Beckham wore at Real Madrid and LA Galaxy, as well as June 23, the date he proposed to Nicola Peltz.

Yet he insisted that when the hot sauce was released, the public would begin to see him in his own right.

He told InStyle: ‘Obviously, I’ve been so fortunate to get these opportunities where [my last name] does help. But when it comes out in September, I think people are going to be like, “wow.”‘

Asked what he thought about his nepo baby label, Brooklyn added: ‘I mean, I can’t help how I was born. I couldn’t ask for better parents and I’m just trying to work my a** off and trying to make a name for myself. That’s all I can say, really.’

Yet despite his comments, it wasn’t long before Brooklyn namedropped his parents to flog the hot sauce.

Last February, Brooklyn mentioned his dad no less than three times in an advert for Whole Foods that was filmed ahead of the Super Bowl.

In the skit, Brooklyn said that American football wasn’t ‘proper football’, and that he was going to call his dad to ‘set it straight’.

While cooking with his Cloud 23 sauce, Brooklyn then asked if the camera operator could locate his phone to see if his dad had called, before explaining that he grew up with football.

The advert ended with Brooklyn’s phone ringing and him having a chat with his ‘dad’.

Brooklyn discovered his love of cooking in lockdown and after sharing Instagram videos of his meals, he filmed social media series, Cookin’ With Brooklyn.

The show, which aired on Facebook Messenger and Instagram, was mercilessly mocked as it was revealed a crew of 62 professionals – including a ‘culinary producer’ – had been assembled for the show, in which he made a sandwich and needed help cooking a hashbrown.

It was produced by influencer content company Wheelhouse DNA at a staggering cost of $100,000 per episode, with TV execs telling The Post the budget and scale was ‘unheard of’.

Brooklyn made a point of mentioning his family in every episode, such as telling Nobu restaurateur Nobu Matsuhisa: ‘I came here with my dad when I was 13’.

A source told Page Six that the Beckhams’ family friend Gordon Ramsay had advised them to put as much money into it as they could.

Before turning his hand to cooking, Brooklyn looked into photography.

At the age of 16, despite having no professional experience, Brooklyn was picked to shoot a Burberry fragrance campaign – sparking a wave of backlash.

Fashion photographer Chris Floyd told the Guardian that Burberry’s decision to employ Brooklyn was a ‘devaluation of photography’ and that Brooklyn’s employment ‘goes against everything his parents represent’.

Chris said: ‘David and Victoria Beckham represent sheer willpower and graft. Especially her, she’s climbed that mountain all by herself.

‘They represent hard work and then their 16-year-old year son comes along and it’s sheer nepotism. He hasn’t done it from hard work, which is counter-intuitive to what his parents represent.’

Meanwhile, fashion photographer Jon Gorrigan said he expected Burberry would have the entire setup ready so that all Brooklyn had to do was click the button.

Jon mused: ‘He’s obviously not going to be doing the lighting, he’ll have no clue of the programmes, the cameras or Photoshop.

‘It’s going to be so well managed – he’ll have the best hair and makeup, the best models, the very best equipment, so that the chance of any risk is greatly reduced.

‘It infuriates me because I learned my trade and other photographers learn their trade but he’s not learning his trade. I can understand why they’re doing it, getting the younger generation interested in Burberry. It definitely annoys me. Names sell, don’t they?’

Burberry chief creative Christopher Bailey defended the decision to hire Brooklyn saying ‘his style and attitude were exactly what we wanted to capture the spirit of this new fragrance campaign.’

While the campaign came out well, Brooklyn infuriated the photography community again when he released his notorious What I See book in 2017, sharing captures of his life and family.

Aged 18, he was criticised for including blurry, shadowy images of elephants in Kenya, which he said were ‘so hard to photograph.’

On the next page, next to a blurry shot of a crowd at a restaurant, the caption said: ‘Dinner. I like this picture – it’s out of focus but you can tell there’s a lot going on.’

The book contained 300 images and was launched with an exhibition in London and Los Angeles.

Brooklyn was subject to widespread mockery when the book was released, with critics noting that it would be highly unusual for an 18-year-old amateur photographer to be offered a book deal by a major publisher without his level of fame and connections

That same year, Brooklyn began a four-year photography course at Parsons School of Design in New York, but he dropped out after a year.

Now, Brooklyn is said to be relying on his father-in-law Nelson Peltz’s connections to help him open a burger restaurant in the States.

A source told The Sun: ‘Brooklyn has long dreamed of opening a restaurant where he lives and that is finally coming to fruition.

‘He has created Beck’s Buns and quietly launched it on social media. Brooklyn’s company Buster Sauce Inc owns the trademark and he is planning to open a restaurant.’

Yet he couldn’t resist dragging his famous parents into his latest venture – the collaboration for DoorDash – which ends with ‘more soon’, suggesting another similar advert will follow.

The video sparked a backlash with comments now limited for some Instagram users. One fan told Brooklyn: ‘If you hate them so much drop the name and stop profiting from association.’

The Daily Mail revealed that friends of the Beckhams have been taken aback by the latest shocking move amid their public family feud, which has left the family devastated.

A friend of the Beckhams told Katie Hind: ‘To do an advert based on estrangement from family as if it’s a joke when his family is devastated and his sister and grandparents are inconsolable is shocking.

‘Especially from someone who claims he wants peace and privacy.’

The Beckhams have been embroiled in an increasingly acrimonious dispute with Brooklyn and Nicola for months, with relations said to have deteriorated dramatically after the couple failed to attend David’s 50th birthday celebrations in May 2025.

In January, Brooklyn released a scathing six-page statement (below) announcing he had cut ties with his family – declaring he was no longer part of ‘Brand Beckham’ and insisting his parents and their other children are ‘performative’.

Shortly before Christmas last year, Brooklyn blocked his parents on Instagram, while Brooklyn and Nicola’s lawyers later wrote to the Beckhams’ legal team requesting that all communication be conducted through legal representatives.

Brooklyn also claimed David and Victoria had controlled him for much of his life, attempted to drive a wedge between him and Nicola and left him embarrassed when his mother danced ‘inappropriately’ with him during the first dance at his wedding.

The aspiring chef was last pictured with his family during Christmas 2024, and by May 2025 it was clear a feud had formed after Brooklyn failed to acknowledge either of his parents’ birthdays and snubbed David’s 50th.

Brooklyn Beckham’s statement in full

I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.

I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.

Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.

My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped. My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.

Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.

They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.

During the wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me “evil” because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra, and Nicola’s Naunni at our table, because they both didn’t have their husbands. Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours.

The night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was “not blood” and “not family.” Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I’ve received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders.

Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last Summer.

My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song. In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.

She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.

My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one. My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable.

Despite this, we still travelled to London for my dad’s birthday and were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him. He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner.

When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited. It was a slap in the face. Later, when my family travelled to LA, they refused to see me at all.

My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first. Family “love” is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations.

We’ve gone out of our way for years to show up and support at every fashion show, every party, and every press activity to show ‘our perfect family.’ But the one time my wife asked for my mum’s support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.

The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.

I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief. My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.

Alaska Woman Lori Price Heroically Fends Off Bear Attack with Weapon to Save Herself and Dog

A resident of Alaska credits her handgun for saving her dog’s life after a black bear launched an attack during a mushroom-picking adventure on the Kenai Peninsula earlier this month.

On June 7, Lori Price was exploring near Skilak Lake with her two dogs, Chaos, a German short-haired pointer, and Willis, a chocolate Labrador, when their peaceful outing took a terrifying turn.

In an interview with Alaska News Source, Price recounted hearing a roar and instantly understanding that her dogs had encountered a bear.

“I heard the bear and immediately grasped the situation,” Price shared. “My instinctive response was to get to my dog as quickly as possible.”

Upon seeing Chaos under attack, Price promptly drew her Glock 43 9mm pistol and fired at the bear to protect her pet.

“I pull my pistol, and I shot. Boom! Down like a sack of potatoes goes the bear,” she recalled.

Price initially believed the danger had passed. But as she checked on Chaos, who was suffering from multiple bite wounds and significant blood loss, the bear got back up.

Price said she fired again before the animal rose once more.

“All of a sudden, the bear gets up again. And I’m like, ‘Oh my God. What?’” she recalled.

Price and her dogs then ran from the area while the bear headed off in the opposite direction. While returning to her vehicle, Price called 911, though she said poor cellphone reception made it difficult to stay connected with dispatchers.

After reaching her car, she flagged down a passing driver and told them she and her dog had been attacked.

Emergency responders arrived and helped care for Chaos before Price drove him to a veterinary clinic for treatment.

“My heart broke,” Price said. “He had so many bite marks on him. It was like the bear thought he was like a little sardine.”

Price credited veterinarian Dr. Patrick with helping save the dog’s life.

“Dr. Patrick called me from the veterinary clinic, and I owe him my dog’s life,” she said.

Chaos was released from the clinic later that day and is expected to make a full recovery. Price said the dog has regained his ability to walk and continues to heal from the attack.

“Obviously, we’re going through a lot of recovery, but he is really lucky to be alive,” she said.

Willis was not injured during the encounter.
