Revitalize Knees After 60: Top 4 Morning Exercises Superior to Squats

0

Waking up with stiff knees? Discover four exercises recommended by a fitness expert that take you beyond the usual squats.

>

Morning knee stiffness can often loosen up with the right movements. While those first few steps might feel awkward, engaging in a targeted routine can transform that stiffness into smooth, fluid motion. This precise approach can directly impact the muscles surrounding your knee joint, helping them to perform effectively.

While squats are beneficial, enhancing knee strength necessitates a broader strategy. For optimal performance, consider the thigh’s role in extending the knee, the hips in maintaining proper alignment, and the stability required from the lower leg to handle weight shifts. By training these components collectively with adequate support, you can ensure each movement is executed with control, ultimately leading to stronger knees.

When evaluating knee exercises, I primarily observe if the knee remains aligned during movement. The exercise achieves its objective if the foot is steady, the hip actively participates, and the entire motion appears stable. These four efficient morning exercises are designed to build knee strength without demanding extensive time or heavy equipment.

Supported Split Squat

Supported split squats strengthen the knee one leg at a time. The front leg handles most of the work, while a chair, wall, or counter gives you balance and support. This makes the exercise easier to control than a full lunge while still challenging the quads, glutes, and hips.

Muscles Trained: Quadriceps, glutes, hamstrings, calves, core.

How to Do It:

  1. Stand beside a sturdy chair, wall, or counter.
  2. Step one foot back into a split stance.
  3. Keep your front foot flat and your chest tall.
  4. Bend both knees and lower straight down.
  5. Press through your front foot to stand tall.
  6. Complete all reps, then switch sides.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 8 to 10 reps per side. Rest for 45 to 60 seconds between sets.

Best Variations: Short-range split squats, split squat holds, slow-tempo split squats.

Form Tip: Keep your front knee tracking in the same direction as your toes.

4 Daily Exercises That Firm Waist Faster Than Corset Workouts After 50

Lateral Band Walk

Lateral band walks build strength in the outer hips, which helps keep the knees aligned during walking, climbing stairs, and single-leg movements. The band gives your hips a clear job without adding impact. Keep the steps small and controlled so your knees stay steady.

Muscles Trained: Glute medius, glutes, quadriceps, outer hips, core.

How to Do It:

  1. Place a light mini band above your knees or around your ankles.
  2. Stand with your feet hip-width apart.
  3. Bend your knees slightly and brace your core.
  4. Step one foot out to the side.
  5. Bring your other foot in without letting the band go slack.
  6. Continue for the full set, then repeat in the other direction.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 8 to 12 steps per direction. Rest for 30 to 45 seconds between sets.

Best Variations: Bodyweight lateral steps, higher-band lateral walks, slow-tempo lateral walks.

Form Tip: Keep your toes facing forward and avoid letting your knees collapse inward.

Sit-to-Stand

Sit-to-stands train the quads and glutes through a movement you use every day. The chair gives you a clear target, making it easier to control depth and build confidence. Stand fully at the top of each rep so your legs finish the movement with strength.

Muscles Trained: Quadriceps, glutes, hamstrings, core.

How to Do It:

  1. Sit near the front edge of a sturdy chair.
  2. Place your feet flat on the floor about hip-width apart.
  3. Brace your core and lean your chest slightly forward.
  4. Press through your whole foot to stand tall.
  5. Push your hips back and lower toward the chair.
  6. Tap the seat lightly and repeat.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 10 to 12 reps. Rest for 45 seconds between sets.

Best Variations: Higher-chair sit-to-stands, pause sit-to-stands, slow-tempo sit-to-stands.

Form Tip: Tap the chair lightly without fully relaxing into the seat.

5 Bed Exercises That Restore Lower Back Strength Faster Than Physical Therapy After 55

Low Box Step-Up

Low box step-ups build knee strength through the same pattern you use on stairs and curbs. The leg on the step has to press down, extend the knee, and bring your body up with control. Use a low, stable step or the bottom stair, and keep support nearby if needed.

Muscles Trained: Quadriceps, glutes, hamstrings, calves, core.

How to Do It:

  1. Stand facing a low box, sturdy step, or bottom stair.
  2. Place your whole foot on the step.
  3. Brace your core and keep your chest lifted.
  4. Press through the foot on the step to stand tall.
  5. Step back down with control.
  6. Complete all reps, then switch sides.

Recommended Sets and Reps: Perform 3 sets of 8 to 10 reps per side. Rest for 45 to 60 seconds between sets.

Best Variations: Assisted step-ups, lower-height step-ups, slow-tempo step-ups.

Form Tip: Let the leg on the step create the lift instead of pushing hard off the floor.

5 Standing Exercises That Rebuild Core Strength Faster Than Planks After 65

How to Use These Morning Exercises After 60

Use this routine two to four mornings per week. Complete one set of each exercise in order, rest for 60 to 90 seconds, then repeat for two to three total rounds.

  • Start with support: Use a chair, wall, or counter to help you keep the knee steady and the rep clean.
  • Keep the range honest: Move through a depth you control well. Build deeper reps only after the current range feels strong.
  • Train both sides evenly: Split squats, band walks, and step-ups help each leg rebuild its own strength.
  • Progress gradually: Add a few reps, use a slightly stronger band, increase the step height slightly, or slow the lowering phase.
  • Walk after the routine: A short walk gives your knees a chance to use the strength you just trained.

Knee strength builds best through steady, controlled work. Keep the movements smooth, let support improve your form, and give your legs regular practice creating strength around the joint.

TOPIC – Saul’s Sore End (DCLM Daily Manna 7 August 2026)

KEY VERSE: So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it – 1 Chronicles 10:13

TEXT: 1 Chronicles 10:1-14 (KJV)

1 Now the Philistines fought against Israel; and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa.

2 And the Philistines followed hard after Saul, and after his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchishua, the sons of Saul.

3 And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him, and he was wounded of the archers.

4 Then said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.

5 And when his armourbearer saw that Saul was dead, he fell likewise on the sword, and died.

6 So Saul died, and his three sons, and all his house died together.

7 And when all the men of Israel that were in the valley saw that they fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, then they forsook their cities, and fled: and the Philistines came and dwelt in them.

8 And it came to pass on the morrow, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, that they found Saul and his sons fallen in mount Gilboa.

9 And when they had stripped him, they took his head, and his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to carry tidings unto their idols, and to the people.

10 And they put his armour in the house of their gods, and fastened his head in the temple of Dagon.

11 And when all Jabeshgilead heard all that the Philistines had done to Saul,

12 They arose, all the valiant men, and took away the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to Jabesh, and buried their bones under the oak in Jabesh, and fasted seven days.

13 So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the Lord, even against the word of the Lord, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it;

14 And enquired not of the Lord: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

An old adage says, “It’s the end that counts, not the beginning or what’s in between”. The storyteller may garnish the opening and the intervening passages with the most pungent and arresting language about the main character. Yet, if the narrative closes with the tragic end of the protagonist owing to his character flaws, he would draw little sympathy. The reader of his biography wants the principal personality to end with laurels the way he started.

Alas, Saul, Israel’s first king, experienced a bitter conclusion, after a blazing and historic beginning. And he did not go down alone. He took along “his three sons, and all his house.” The children of Israel who escaped death in the battle against the Philistines fled, allowing the enemy to take over their land. How did it all start? It began with the breach of God’s express commandment. Saul disobeyed the Lord, and followed it up, not with repentance, but with more sinful conduct. Even at the point of death, he enacted the final iniquity: suicide.

It is not enough for nations and their institutions of administration to seek leaders to guide them. They must look for pivotal men and women who would wholly yield themselves to the shepherding and correction of God. This is key if they want a society that would thrive, prosper and withstand challenges and upheavals of statehood. Now, this requirement holds true also in the different aspects of the workforce of the church. Otherwise, their frailties would destroy them and those they are leading, as in the case of Saul.

Our Lord is the ultimate Leader. Without Him, man would be perennially on a bumpy ride, falling into a series of perilous failures. The Church should step in to halt the slide by teaching sound scriptural doctrines to raise God-fearing leaders. We must saturate everywhere with heaven-focused citizens with our preaching and righteous lifestyle. This is the only bulwark against the rise of “Sauls” whose untamed false start and godlessness would drive the entire land into the abyss.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
When we have godly leaders, we are assured of God-fearing citizens

Rhapsody Of Realities 7 August 2026 By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome (Christ Embassy): The Essence Of The New Birth

TOPIC: The Essence Of The New Birth (Rhapsody of Realities 7 August 2026)

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me… – Galatians 2:20

Rhapsody Of Realities For Today’s MESSAGE:

The New Birth isn’t a moral upgrade or a spiritual enhancement of the human life; it’s the impartation of a new life that replaces the old. Christianity isn’t about refining the natural man; it’s the introduction of the divine life that supplants the human life.

The Lord Jesus made it unequivocal: “Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again” (John 3:7). To be born again is to receive a new origin. It’s the birth of a new creation. The life you received in Christ doesn’t coexist with the human life you were born with; it supplants it.

That’s why the Apostle Paul declares, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me….” The old identity, sustained by human life, has been brought to an end. Now, the life that’s operative in you is the God-life: “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son” (1 John 5:11).

You don’t have two natures functioning side by side. You have one nature—the divine nature. This aligns with 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Many live below this truth because they’re more conscious of the human life than the divine life within them. But when you understand that the God-life in you has replaced the old life, your thinking changes. You no longer approach life as a mere man; you function from your divine nature, living in righteousness, dominion, and victory without struggle.

This is the essence of the New Birth—God in you, expressing Himself fully, naturally, and consistently through you.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the reality of my new life in Christ. I rejoice, knowing that the human life has been supplanted by your divine life in me. I live in the consciousness of this truth, expressing your nature, walking in righteousness, and manifesting your glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Maine Challenges Trump Admin Lawsuit: Refusal to Supply Undercover Plates for ICE Sparks Legal Battle

0

The state of Maine is standing firm against federal interference as it pushes back on the Trump administration’s demand to issue specific license plates for federal agents. This was stated in a recent filing presented this week in federal court.

The confrontation began in May when the U.S. Department of Justice launched legal action against Maine and its Secretary of State, Shenna Bellows. The DOJ’s detailed 18-page lawsuit contends that the state’s Bureau of Motor Vehicles wrongfully denied federal immigration agents requests for undercover, confidential license plates.

Bellows has previously articulated her stance, making it clear that her department, which manages the BMV, will only agree to provide unmarked plates to federal immigration officers if assured they will not assist in “lawless purposes.”

Meanwhile, the federal government claims discrimination, arguing that agencies such as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are being unfairly targeted by Maine’s policies.

Specifically, Maine’s secretary of state updated the application for confidential law enforcement license plates to include an attestation that they would not be used for immigration enforcement.

The state casts the application as “Maine’s legitimate decision not to join in with the federal government to carry out federal policy.”

In the motion, the state notes that Maine law gives Bellows “absolute discretionary authority over” the issuance of license plates.

“Here, the United States is asking the Court to re-write a Maine statute providing the Secretary with sole authority to decide on a case-by-case basis whether to authorize a law enforcement vehicle to operate with a confidential State of Maine license plate,” the motion continues.

Maine argues that its license plate rules do not affect whether immigration agents can perform their jobs.

“Maine has not acted to ‘interrupt’ or stand between the federal government and enforcement of its immigration policies,” the motion continues. “Instead, Maine has merely opted not to contribute the State’s resources toward efforts that assist in disguising a different government’s vehicles from Maine’s citizens.”

The filing goes on like this:

If there is legitimate immigration policy to pursue within State borders, Maine is not stopping the federal government from executing it. It has not attempted to bar federal vehicles from its roads. Nor does Maine subject the federal government to any special requirement before entering the State.

Maine also says the DOJ “incorrectly” claimed that “confidential license plates are ‘otherwise available’ to them under Maine law.”

In other words, the state says the DOJ got the law wrong by arguing that Maine is only subjecting “federal law enforcement” to case-by-case review. Rather, the state notes, all license plates are subject to such review.

“Given the breathtaking scope of the federal government’s demand, it would be difficult to concoct a better example of an attempt to ‘commandeer state executive and legislative officials to implement federal policies’ in violation of the Tenth Amendment,” the motion to dismiss goes on. “The Court should not bless these efforts.”

Aaron Rodgers Reveals Heartwarming Reconciliation Story with His Parents

Aaron Rodgers recently announced that he won’t be sharing any more family updates after mending fences with his family following a lengthy period of estrangement.

Last month, the star quarterback for the NFL turned heads when he shared photos on Instagram featuring moments spent with his parents, Ed and Darla, along with his older brother, Luke. However, Rodgers clarified in a conversation with USA Today Sports, published Wednesday, that this was a unique occurrence.

“There’s been a lot of talk circulating,” Rodgers noted, alluding to the much-discussed rift within his family over the years. “Many details shared haven’t been accurate, and I believe personal matters should remain personal and private.”

He further explained, “Posting something once felt like completing a circle, a way to close this chapter. But that’s it; there won’t be another post, to finally put an end to that narrative.”

The 42-year-old attributed the reconciliation with his family largely to his wife, Brittani, who values her privacy. He shared this insight while speaking with NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt over the weekend.

“I’m happy to be reunited and that part of my life is a really beautiful addition, and I gotta give my wife a lot of credit for — not that she was pushing me because she never was — but just the way she loves and supports me, having her by my side throughout this process has been really special and I miss those relationships,” he reflected.

“It’s been really beautiful to reconnect with them — all of them,” he also shared. “I got to spend a long weekend recently with my parents … my brother and his sweet wife and their incredible two kids. I got to be an uncle.”

Noticeably missing from the reunion was Aaron’s younger brother, “Bachelorette” alum Jordan Rodgers. The Super Bowl winner hinted that he perhaps has still not made amends with Jordan in an interview with the Athletic published Monday.

Aaron explained that he managed to keep the details of their feud under wraps, while other unnamed family members publicly aired out their dirty laundry.

“I’ve been really staunch, going back to when there was a schism, that I feel like that stuff should be off limits,” the Pittsburgh Steelers star said.

“Now, not everybody in the family adhered to the same thing,” he continued. “But there are different things, situations, experiences, and people that actually change your life.”

In 2016, Jordan, 37, spoke about his family’s estrangement from Aaron on Season 12 of “The Bachelorette,” when he said on-camera that the professional athlete had removed himself from their family.

“Me and Aaron don’t really have that much of a relationship,” he shared at the time. “It’s just kind of the way he’s chosen to do life, and I’ve chosen to stay close with my family and my parents and my brother.”

Massive NYC Cat Rescue: Over 100 Felines Saved from Squalid Conditions in One Day

0

Authorities reported that over 100 cats were rescued from three filthy residences in Queens and the Bronx on Thursday, highlighting a significant animal welfare issue in these areas.

The cats were handed over to the ASPCA by pet owners who, overwhelmed by the sheer number of animals, recognized their inability to provide adequate care as their feline population expanded uncontrollably.

Two kittens, one black and one tabby, look out from inside a wire cage with an empty paper food tray.

Over 100 cats were rescued from three deplorable NYC homes on Thursday, August 6, 2026. ASPCA

Among those rescued were tiny kittens and expecting mothers, all extracted from the squalid conditions they had been living in, as noted by the ASPCA.

Following comprehensive medical examinations, the cats are now en route to the ASPCA’s recovery facility in Ohio. There, they will receive the necessary care and treatment to prepare them for eventual adoption.

Images depict the endearing felines receiving vaccinations and having their vital statistics recorded by dedicated veterinary professionals.

“The ASPCA has seen an uptick in requests to assist with largescale animal hoarding and neglect situations across New York in recent months, and our teams are working tirelessly to provide critical sheltering, medical care, behavioral treatment and enrichment, legal and investigative support, and safety net services to help animals and pet owners in need,” Elizabeth Brandler, vice president of ASPCA Cruelty Response said in a statement.

A kitten receives a medical injection while being held by a person wearing a yellow protective suit and blue gloves.

After receiving medical exams, the cats are being transported to the ASPCA’s recovery facility in Ohio for treatment before they go up for adoption. ASPCA

“We’re grateful to be in a position where we can mobilize at a moment’s notice to ensure the safety of vulnerable animals and, when appropriate, support investigative and prosecutorial efforts to hold animal abusers accountable. When animals are in need, the ASPCA goes there,” Brandler said.

More than 300 at-risk animals, primarily cats, have been rescued across the five boroughs by the ASPCA through a community engagement program and partnership with the NYPD.

The operations included a Brooklyn apartment where rescuers and cops discovered 27 neglected animals in June.

Jessica Styles, 45, was hit with a slew of charges, including aggressive cruelty to animals, after two dozen animals — including a dead dog — were discovered in her deplorable apartment on Herkimer Street in Ocean Hill.

In July, nearly 40 cats were also removed from an unsanitary, dangerous Queens apartment following an eviction. Nine dead felines were also tragically found in the home, the ASPCA said.

Navy Swimmer Sustains Severe Burns from Amazon Product Usage

0

A devastating accident involving a tabletop fire pit—sold on Amazon—has left a former Navy search-and-rescue swimmer with severe burns, according to allegations in a recently filed lawsuit.

The plaintiff, Anthony Trevino, age 31, alleges that he endured critical injuries when attempting to refuel his portable fire pit in September 2025.

Court documents state that the fire pit purportedly exploded, causing devastating third-degree burns to Trevino’s face, ears, neck, torso, arms, hands, and fingers.

The blast’s intensity was such that it reportedly melted nearby lighting fixtures and scorched the balcony fence, illustrating the extent of the incident’s destruction.

As a result of the explosion, Trevino was hospitalized for several weeks, with lingering injuries and scars that he fears may remain permanent, per his assertions in the legal filing.

‘I never imagined a product sold to me as ‘safe and easy’ would do this to me in my own home,’ Trevino said in a statement.

The product, made by Colsen Fire Pits and Gusar, LLC and sold by Amazon, is a tabletop fire pit fueled by rubbing alcohol.

The lawsuit, filed August 5 in San Diego Superior Court, accused Amazon and Colsen Fire Pits of selling the device despite knowing it was a ‘defective and hazardous product known to have caused numerous burn injuries.’

The suit alleges the product was highly susceptible to ‘flame jetting,’ in which flames explode out of the device and travel up a stream of the rubbing alcohol meant to fuel the device.

‘My whole life, my job was to pull people out of danger. I can’t undo what happened to me, but I can hold Amazon accountable to ensure they stop selling products that are so dangerous they can alter the course of someone’s life,’ Trevino added.

The lawsuit argues he suffered ‘both physically and psychologically’ and aims to compensate Trevino for monetary damages for the loss of earnings and medical expenses.

The suit alleges that Trevino purchased the fire pit on Amazon’s website in 2021.

Based on Amazon’s algorithm, he also purchased isopropyl alcohol, commonly known as rubbing alcohol, to fuel the device.

‘He was hoping to use the fire pit to provide some nice ambience on his outdoor patio in his apartment in San Diego,’ the lawsuit alleged.

Trevino’s lawyers claimed the defendants were aware that ethanol burners in general, ‘were and are defective and extremely dangerous,’ as they were already outlawed in Australia and Canada.

Trevino’s lawyers claimed the Defendants were aware that ethanol burners in general, ‘were and are defective and extremely dangerous,’ as they were already outlawed in Australia and Canada.

The lawsuit confirms Amazon sent an email to anyone who purchased Colsen-branded fire pits saying: ‘the product… may not meet current mandatory or voluntary safety standards.’

However, the lawsuit claims that the notification ‘did not offer to refund the purchase price or advise buyers such as plaintiff that the product was defective and using it could result in catastrophic burn injuries.’

Jeremy Robinson, one of Trevino’s attorneys, said a 2020 decision in a separate San Diego case helped set the precedent for suing Amazon for products it sells through third parties.

The case involved a woman being injured and burned after she purchased a replacement laptop battery.

Amazon claimed they were merely an online marketplace and could not be held liable for third-party product defects, but a panel from a California appeals court disagreed.

According to court documents, many individuals in the United States have filed similar lawsuits against Colsen Fire Pits and Amazon.

Colsen Fire Pits filed for bankruptcy in 2024 and appears to no longer be in business.

Senator Lidia Thorpe Advocates for Independent Royal Commission on Racism

0

Lidia Thorpe, an Indigenous senator, has issued a stark warning about racism, likening it to “a cancer,” as she advocates for a national royal commission to scrutinize its impact on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Joining her call is Matthew Ryan, the influential chairman of the Northern Land Council, who is urging that this pressing issue be escalated to the highest level of national inquiry. His appeal follows a testimony he presented to a parliamentary committee focused on racism, hate, and violence targeting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

During his testimony to the inquiry led by Labor, Ryan made a powerful statement, likening the Northern Territory Country Liberal Party (CLP) government’s policies on child removal, Indigenous incarceration, and suicide rates to “modern day slavery.”

Addressing reporters at the Garma Festival in North East Arnhem Land last weekend, Ryan emphasized that the inquiry has brought to light the pervasive nature of systemic racism.

“This should be a royal commission. We continue to drag our feet,” he asserted, underscoring the urgency for decisive action.

“For a long time we were not heard; we want to be heard.

“We must eliminate systemic racism. It’s real.”

Foreign Minister Penny Wong, Indigenous Australians Minister Malarndirri McCarthy, her Opposition counterpart Julian Leeser, and the Northern Territory Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro all addressed the Garma forums.

But Ryan would have liked to see more open discussion and concession from politicians about the impact of racism.

“That’s the fundamental issue, as we speak, that’s holding back our people in terms of expanding job opportunity, business opportunity.

“I see racism as playing a big role in undermining my people,” he said.

“It’s about truth telling, and that’s right across all Australians.”

Thorpe is a member of the parliamentary committee that’s been conducting the hearings to collect testimony from First Nations people across the country about their experience of racism.

“We need to highlight racism as a real problem for everyone in this country, not just for Aboriginal people, but for non-Aboriginal people,” she said.

“Like, do you want to be proud of being in a racist country, and standing by while people are being racially vilified and harmed?

“Racism kills. Racism makes people sick. Racism is like a cancer, and if you subscribe to that, then you’ve got a problem, and you need to have a look at that problem in detail … a royal commission will certainly expose that.”

Thorpe had initially called for the terms of reference for the existing royal commission investigating antisemitism and social cohesion to be broadened to include racism against First Nations Australians.

“The government weren’t interested. They just wanted to focus on antisemitism. There’s racism against black and brown people in this country that’s actually killing us.”

“Our people have poured their hearts and souls out. They’ve been retraumatized, telling their stories again and again,” she said.

Her biggest concern is that the parliamentary inquiry will touch on the key issues, but end with a report and recommendations that aren’t implemented.

“It has no teeth,” she said.

“We’ve got to beg for basic human rights, even with a federal Labor government, and it’s very, very disappointing.

“A royal commission will bring more scrutiny. It’ll have more power, and it can hold everyone to account.”

Independent Northern Territory member for Mulka, Mark Yingiya Guyula, used his Garma speech to accuse the territory’s CLP government of using its political numbers in the unicameral parliament to pass “incredibly damaging” laws that he says are “steps on the path to killing our people and culture”.

The Djambarrpuyŋu man took aim at government policies including changes to bail laws and youth justice reforms.

“Even though I have been sent by my people to be their voice and fix these problems, each time the CLP passes these laws, they take part in a slow genocide of our people,” he said.

“Each law is another step on the path to killing our people and culture.

“We want community-led solutions, but they say, ‘No, we know what is best for you.’

“Nothing has been done to empower our people or respect our self-determination.”

The Northern Territory government has been approached for a response.
