Shark Attack Survivor’s Medical Hurdle Amid Radio DJs’ Doubts

0

Shark attack survivor Leah Stewart has shared that she is facing another skin graft, with a stubborn open wound on her leg still requiring treatment almost three months after the terrifying incident.

The 35-year-old was swimming between the flags at Sydney’s Coogee Beach on June 13 when she narrowly survived an encounter with a great white shark. She later underwent multiple operations in hospital, including the amputation of her left arm below the elbow.

In a video posted on Friday, Ms Stewart gave followers an update on her recovery, explaining that the wound on her leg remains covered in plastic as doctors work to help it heal.

She also displayed a portable device she jokingly called her “medical handbag,” which must stay connected to the injury while the healing process continues.

“I’ve had one of these with me for three months. I used to have one five times this size, but I’m very excited to have a smaller one now,” she told her social media followers.

‘It is a little machine that is connected to my leg. My leg is still an open wound at the moment.

‘Hopefully, it will be closing soon with my second trial at a skin graft. For now, this machine is pulling the wound together and collecting the excess fluid.’

The teacher said she was grateful for the device, although it could still be frustrating.

‘If there’s any movement on the leg, it will start beeping at you if you get a bit of air going in there,’ Ms Stewart said.

‘It needs to be charged, which is annoying. I’ll race home and plug myself into the wall.

‘I’m constantly harassed by this machine, but I’m very thankful for it as it’s helped with a huge impact [sic] on the healing of my leg.’

Ms Stewart’s update followed a challenging week after three radio DJs questioned her account of the ordeal which she had shared with 60 Minutes on Sunday.

During the televised interview, she described thinking about her daughter, deciding which arm to punch the shark with, and seeing the predator’s ‘black little beady eyes’.

But Melbourne radio hosts Kate Langbroek, Brendan Fevola and Nick Cody from 101.9 The Fox on Tuesday accused Ms Stewart of putting ‘a lot of mayo on’ – or embellishing – the story.

‘I’ve never been in this position and I wouldn’t understand what would go on, but if a shark was attacking you, you wouldn’t have much time to think,’ Fevola said.

Langbroek said: ‘No, most people say they don’t even know what’s happening.’

Ms Stewart had told 60 Minutes she decided which arm to use to strike the shark as it approached her during the attack on June 13 at Coogee Beach

Ms Stewart had told 60 Minutes she decided which arm to use to strike the shark as it approached her during the attack on June 13 at Coogee Beach

The trio then replayed part of Ms Stewart’s interview in which she recalled coming face-to-face with the shark and, in the moment before it bit her, deciding to hit it with her left arm because it was the arm she was more ‘willing to lose’.

Fevola said: ‘I was on the couch with my wife saying, “She’s lying. Too much time to think.” You’re not thinking all that, are you?’

Langbroek attempted to defend Ms Stewart, cautioning that neither of them could know how they would react in the same situation.

‘Mercifully, we don’t know,’ she said.

She pointed to professional surfer Mick Fanning, who famously fought off a shark during a competition in South Africa in 2015, and said his actions were a ‘reflex’.

But Fevola remained adamant that Ms Stewart had embellished parts of the story.

‘Come on, oh right or left? Like bro, you are amazing – you punched a shark in the face and survived – but you’re not thinking all that… That’s a lot of mayo,’ he said.

Ms Stewart, a teacher and mother to one-year-old daughter August, was a regular swimmer at Coogee Beach and said during the 60 Minutes interview that ‘time slowed down’ when she saw the shark approaching.

Ms Stewart also appeared on the UK’s television breakfast program Good Morning Britain to share her story.

Australian social media users were quick to defend Ms Stewart and accused the trio of DJs of ‘poor form’.

‘Let’s add to her trauma and grief by undermining the magnitude of her experience,’ one listener wrote.

‘How utterly strong and brave is the inner spirit and fighting will in this survivor to will herself to live for her child and loved ones.

‘Why do these utter degenerates have a platform to spout their garbage in the first place? Fire them pronto.’

The Daily Mail contacted the radio program for comment following the criticism.

Ms Stewart later addressed the comments in an Instagram post on Wednesday night, saying she wanted to ‘be a bit vulnerable’.

‘Watching my Good Morning Britain interview, you may have noticed how calm I seemed describing the attack; the host even said it looked like I had no PTSD,’ she said.

‘Truthfully, I still feel disconnected from it, almost like it happened in a dream. I think that’s my mind protecting me while I begin processing it.

‘I’m very early in that process, but wanted to give a snapshot of where I’m at.’

Ms Stewart ended the statement by admitting that making progress was daunting for her.

‘Truthfully I’m a bit scared to move past this current state of mind,’ she said.

Prince Harry Makes Daring Plane Jump in First Major Appearance Since UK Return

Prince Harry is preparing to take part in a charity skydive later this month, marking one of his first public appearances since reports of his return to the UK with Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The plan traces back to a meeting in Toronto last November, when Harry visited Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and met Ed Marshall, a 102-year-old former paratrooper. The two quickly connected over their military backgrounds and shared commitment to public service.

Marshall then shared a story that left a lasting impression: to celebrate his 100th birthday, he had jumped from a plane to raise money for charity. “Ed amazed Prince Harry when he proudly recounted the fundraising skydive he completed to mark his 100th birthday,” Sunnybrook said. “Together, they devised a plan for another jump.”

Harry is now set to make good on that idea, joining fellow veterans in a skydive benefiting the Sunnybrook Foundation and True Patriot Love Foundation. Both organizations work to support Canada’s military and veteran communities. The exact date and location have not been disclosed. Marshall will not take part in the jump, but his grandson Bailey is expected to attend on his behalf.

The cause closely aligns with Harry’s long-standing advocacy for service members. In 2014, he founded the Invictus Games in London for wounded, injured, and sick military personnel and veterans. Before that, Harry spent 10 years in the British Armed Forces, including two tours in Afghanistan as a Forward Air Controller and Apache helicopter pilot.

He later explained the impact of those deployments during an Invictus event in Washington in October 2025. “I’m in no doubt that my two deployments to Afghanistan changed the direction of my life,” he said. The recent news comes as reports swirl around Harry’s family life.

Harry and Markle left working royal life in 2020 and moved to California. Now, they have returned. The Sussexes haven’t confirmed the move or shared how long they plan to stay. Still, Page Six reported both children have enrolled in school in Britain.

The couple is said to be considering a private, non-royal home outside London. They still plan to keep homes in California and Portugal.  Former royal butler Grand Harrold thinks, “I imagine King Charles has played a part in their decision, and Harry wanting to spend more time with his father. I think behind closed doors Harry and the King have been working hard to heal their relationship.”

He told Us Weekly, “Only so much can be done when they live so far apart, so I think this is Harry making his dad his priority, which is really nice to see.” Harrold believes living closer could give the pair a real chance to fix things.

“I think the King will be delighted to have his son and daughter-in-law closer to home. He’s well aware that their rift will never be healed when they’re only seeing each other once a twice a year, this is the next step that’s needed if they want to heal their relationship,” he added.

His comments came after Harry’s private family visit at Highgrove in Gloucestershire in July. Harry, Markle, Archie, and Lilibet visited King Charles and Queen Camilla there. It marked Charles’ first in-person meeting with his grandchildren since 2022.

Kennedy Center Ceiling Collapses as Wild Storm Hits DC Area

Part of the Kennedy Center’s ceiling collapsed after a powerful storm swept through Washington, DC, causing damage at the landmark performing arts venue.

The severe weather tore through sections of the cultural center’s roof, leaving a visible hole in the building.

In the wake of the damage, the White House renewed its push for renovations at the Kennedy Center, pointing to what it described as “decades of neglect.”

A source told The Daily Mail that staff first saw pieces of the ceiling falling into the grand foyer at about 5pm on Friday.

Photos from inside the Kennedy Center showed debris scattered across the carpet after the intense overnight storm battered the nation’s capital.

Outside, high winds downed trees and knocked out power to tens of thousands of people with many still in the dark.

No one was injured when the main hall’s ceiling collapsed but Kennedy Center leaders used the situation to amplify President Donald Trump’s calls for modernization.

‘Another example of the urgent need to close for renovation and revitalization, as our Chairman President Trump has championed,’ VP of Public Relations for the Kennedy Center Roma Daravi told The Daily Mail.

‘This structural failure stems from decades of neglect and deferred maintenance by the previous leadership, and there’s no justification for further delays in restoring America’s cultural center,’ she added.

Kennedy Center employees received an email Friday announcing the Main Building would be closed for the remainder of Friday night.

‘This closure is necessary to ensure the safety of staff, contractors, and any other personnel who may otherwise access the facility while O&M evaluates and addresses the identified conditions,’ the email said.

While the Main Building is slated to open again on Saturday, the Grand Foyer will remain closed through the weekend.

The cultural center has been a flashpoint of debate during Trump’s second term, with the president attempting to revitalize the structure and even temporarily putting his name on it.

A source noted that the collapse happened in nearly the same place Democrat Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, one of the chief opponents to Trump’s renovations and renaming plans, held a photo shoot.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Congresswoman Beatty for comment.

The Kennedy Center has been at the center of a long-running saga after Trump overhauled the board of trustees to install his own allies.

The board has since been fighting in court for the right to plaster the president’s name on the Kennedy Center.

His name was first added in December last year, before it Judge Christopher Cooper deemed it unlawful.

The signage remained on the historic building for 176 days after the ruling until it was finally chiseled off, than six months after it was affixed to the historic performing arts center dedicated to President John F Kennedy.

Since then, the Democrats have fought tooth and nail to prevent any more of Trump’s changes.

In a court filing on Monday, Justice Department attorneys painted a grim picture of the state of the Kennedy Center saying it is, ‘a financially insolvent facility, housed in a decrepit, dilapidated, crumbling building’ that ‘continues to race toward physical and financial ruin.’

Renovations were required they argued, but ‘an order blocking the Board from appropriately recognizing President Trump will cause donors to flee, financial contributions to dry up, and structural rehabilitation to stop.

‘There will simply not be the expertise or funding necessary to rebuild and renovate this decimated structure.’

On Wednesday, officials at the center took down a sculpture known as Blue, the latest change at the Kennedy Center that stirred some pushback.

The changes fall within a broader effort to reshape Washington to Trump’s liking, including demolishing the White House’s East Wing to build a ballroom, a proposed triumphal arch near Arlington National Cemetery and a renovated golf course.

Police: Man With Blood on Jeans Claimed Woman Flirted Before Killing Her, Leaving Body Face-Up in River

A Texas man has been jailed after authorities say he killed a woman he allegedly claimed had been “flirting” with him, then returned home and passed out in his front yard.

Michael Wayne Hatcher, 50, is charged with capital murder in the death of 32-year-old Leah Dawn Adams, the Palo Pinto County Sheriff’s Office said.

The case began before dawn on Aug. 27, when investigators said Adams was found dead in the Brazos River.

Not far from the riverbank, Adams’ Dodge Ram 1500 was found burning, according to a search warrant affidavit obtained by Dallas-based ABC affiliate WFAA and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Adams was lying face up in the water, authorities said, identifying the location of the grim find as the Oaks Crossing in Mineral Wells — a historic area used to ford and ferry livestock on cattle drives.

A blanket was found next to the victim, the sheriff’s office said. She also had visible signs of “severe trauma” to her face, according to the court document. On the shoreline, investigators found an open knife. Downstream, investigators found Adams’ driver’s license.

Deputies contacted the Texas Rangers for help with the investigation and law enforcement worked quickly to identify Hatcher as a suspect.

Palo Pinto County Sheriff J.R. Patterson announced the defendant’s arrest later that same day.

Family members of the victim told investigators that Adams’ cellphone had last sent a location signal at a residence in Mineral Wells, according to the affidavit. Authorities said Hatcher and another woman he is in a relationship with were the occupants of that home.

During an initial interview with law enforcement, Hatcher said he was fishing at the river on Aug. 26 when he met Adams, who “had begun flirting with him,” according to the court document. The defendant said he later rode in the victim’s truck to a gas station.

As for his own truck, the man said the victim never got inside, but she did sit on the tailgate, according to law enforcement. Hatcher allegedly went on to say he left the river “sometime after midnight” and returned “right before sunrise,” according to the affidavit.

The defendant added that “only he and Leah were at the river together after midnight,” authorities said. The man allegedly said he saw her truck but not Adams herself when he returned the next day.

In the affidavit, rangers wrote that an investigator saw a “transfer stain consistent with blood under the front pocket of Hatcher’s jeans.”

Investigators then spoke with the woman who lived with Hatcher.

She told authorities the defendant was lying on a wooden bench in the front yard when she woke up to take her children to school that morning, according to law enforcement. She is also the legal owner of the Ford F-150 that Hatcher drove down to the river, law enforcement said, and she consented to a search of the vehicle.

Inside the F-150, investigators found blood, a bloody and sand-covered shirt, and a backpack containing a journal, authorities said. The journal itself allegedly contained Adams’ expired license.

Once the victim’s driver’s license was located, the search was stopped until a search warrant could be obtained, according to the search warrant affidavit.

After returning to the residence with a search warrant, investigators seized human hair, a blue shirt stained with blood, a Taurus GX4 handgun, and a backpack containing Adams’ belongings.

Hatcher is being detained in the Palo Pinto County Jail without bond.

Rula Jebreal Faces Backlash Over AIPAC Monkey Remark About Hakeem Jeffries, Denies Racist Intent

0

Palestinian journalist Rula Jebreal faced sharp criticism from Black lawmakers on Friday after describing House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) as an “AIPAC monkey.”

The remark came during Jebreal’s appearance on left-wing commentator Wajahat Ali’s podcast, “The Left Hook,” where she condemned Jeffries’ support for Israel and accused the Black Democratic leader of serving the interests of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, better known as AIPAC.

“His name is Hakeem. ‘Hakeem’ is an Arabic name which means ‘healer.’ He’s not a healer, he’s a divider,” Jebreal said during the discussion.

She then escalated her criticism, saying, “He is a bought and paid by AIPAC monkey,” before adding, “With all due respect — and I don’t mean it in a racist way.”

Jebreal also called Jeffries “an errand boy,” saying critics of his stance on Israel were “done and tired.”

After Jabreal’s rant, Ali interjected to note that using the term “monkey” has “terrible racial connotations … but I think you caught yourself and said you didn’t mean it with any racial animosity.”

Jabreal attempted to clarify: “There are these three monkeys – one, I cannot hear, I cannot see, I cannot speak – it reminds me of these three monkeys.”

The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) rejected Jebreal’s defense.

“To be clear, there isn’t a non-racist way to call Leader Jeffries—a Black man—a ‘monkey’ or ‘errand boy,’” the group posted on X.

The caucus also slammed Ali, a critic of Israel, writing, “this is what happens when we hold ourselves to such low standards for what’s allowable in our discourse — people get comfortable being openly bigoted.”

“We have to stop platforming and trafficking in anti-Black racism, whether it’s on the political right or the left,” the CBC added.

Rep, Ritchie Torres (D-NY) similarly argued in an X post that “calling a Black man a ‘monkey’ is racist. Full stop.”

“If Wajahat Ali and Rula Jebreal were on the far right, no one on the far left would have any trouble condemning them for dehumanizing a Black man in racist terms,” the black congressman added. “The silence is deafening.”

Jebreal later issued a backhanded apology on X.

“I am disgusted and horrified that Hakeem Jeffries is taking money from AIPAC amidst Israel’s genocide in Palestine,” she wrote. “That said, a term that I used to describe him was inappropriate and offensive and should never have been used.

“I apologize unconditionally.”

Jeffries’ office did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

Mail Carrier’s Hunch Helps Police Find Washington Woman in Need

0

A mail carrier who spotted days of untouched mail outside a Vancouver home alerted police for a welfare check — a decision authorities say may have saved an elderly woman’s life.

VANCOUVER, Wash. — A Washington mail carrier’s close knowledge of his daily route helped lead officers to a woman in urgent need of help.

On Aug. 17, the carrier realized that one of his regular customers in Vancouver had not collected her mail for several days. That immediately stood out because she typically picked it up daily, and he also knew she had mobility challenges. After knocking on her door and getting no answer, he called 911.

Responding officers checked with neighbors, who told police they had not seen the woman in days either. Officers knocked at the door and looked through the windows but could not spot anyone inside. They eventually made entry into the home.

Body camera footage released by the police department shows officers moving through the house before locating the woman unconscious in a back bedroom. She was still breathing when they found her.

The woman was stuck between the bed and a wall, making it difficult for officers to reach her. They moved the bed out of the way to clear a path for firefighters and medics who took her to the hospital.

Police spokesperson Kim Kapp said the woman’s situation could have been much worse without the mail carrier’s call.

“The mail carrier did the right thing and saved her life, making that phone call and saying something was not right and can somebody go check on it,” Kapp said.

She said police respond to welfare checks regularly. The calls can come from relatives who haven’t heard from someone, neighbors who notice something unusual or people concerned about someone in crisis.

In this case, the mail carrier’s knowledge of his route made the difference.

“That was a really good indication something definitely was not normal because this mail carrier knew the pattern of particularly this woman and others on his route,” Kapp said.

The incident is also a reminder that noticing a change in someone’s routine can be enough reason to check in or ask for help, police said.

Seattle Homeless Encampment Sprawls Across Acres Amid Growing Alarm

0

Newly surfaced images show the rapid growth of a homeless encampment in Seattle, highlighting how conditions at the site have changed dramatically in a little more than a year as Democratic Socialist Katie Wilson has held a prominent leadership role in the city.

Drone footage obtained by KOMO News from June of last year and again earlier this week offers a stark before-and-after look at the expanding South Seattle encampment.

In last year’s aerial images, only a handful of tents could be seen scattered around the location on 42nd Avenue South, a part of the city already struggling with homelessness and public safety concerns.

The latest footage shows a far more crowded scene, with makeshift tarp-covered shelters now surrounded by growing piles of garbage, discarded items and debris.

Among the clutter visible from above were stray dogs, aging RVs, chopped wood, rubber tires and other abandoned materials mixed in with mounds of trash bags spread across the area.

According to the outlet, the encampment site has expanded to both public and private property – sparking concerns from fed up locals.

Neighbor Andrew Rauch told the outlet: ‘It’s a humanitarian crisis of the worst possible measure. The city needs to come in with a hammer and clear these encampments right now.

‘There is going to be tragedy that ensues, whether that’s large-scale or the small tragedies that occur in these encampments day in and out.’

He added: ‘It is just mind boggling the city cannot get control over this. These are folks who don’t want help.

‘They are not going to fall in line to move into any sort of shelter, and certainly not going to be receptive to drug treatment.

‘There are solutions to that, but the city has no teeth in any of its policies’, he said while complaining that he has repeatedly told the city through calls and emails.

Last week, the city’s Unified Care Team finally responded to him, saying they regularly monitor the site and carry out bi-weekly trash cleanups.

The response also said that city teams have conducted ‘outreach efforts’ while they ‘develop a plan with a specified resolution date.’

According to that email, city officials consider the large scale site as actually being a lower priority than other camps in the city despite the abject squalor on display.

The outlet reported that the encampment is proving tricky due to one property owner allowing homeless people to set up shop.

Homeless advocate Christopher Richards told the outlet that the owner is looking into how he can ‘facilitate these people in recovery.’

Richards said: ‘It’s his property; they’re allowed to have tiny homes, things like that while he’s looking into how he can facilitate these people in recovery.

‘They need housing. It’s about to be winter’, adding that the group in the encampment are tight knit.

According to Rauch, the city had opened an encampment village near the area in 2022 which they promised would resolve the problems but it has done the opposite.

He added: ‘If this is the result, I would warn any neighborhood to be super resistant.

‘The level of criminality behind us is off the charts. This is tearing at the fabric of our community.’

In June, Mayor Wilson said she was launching a program of opening up ‘tiny homes’ to stem the tide of homelessness which has long plagued the city.

The mayor previewed 50 of the 1,000 planned single-adult units that the city hopes will serve as transitional housing for those experiencing homelessness.

It was reported at the time that the city will not require those who will be living there to go through addiction or recovery treatment.

‘The process of recovery is really complicated and difficult and so, we’re not demanding that people be abstinent when they enter this village,’ Wilson said.

She admitted that she had failed to meet her goal of building 500 units and having them ready to go in time for Seattle’s turn to host World Cup matches.

‘Is it a failure not to have created 500 units by now? As long as there are thousands of people sleeping unsheltered on our streets, yes, we are failing,’ Wilson said.

Heiress Isabel Getty, 32, Weds British Financier in Lavish London Wedding

0

Getty family heiress Isabel Getty has wed British financier Faris McKinnon in an elegant London ceremony, choosing a crisp white skirt suit paired with striking cobalt-blue heels for her big day.

The marriage opens a joyful new chapter for Isabel, 32, the great-granddaughter of legendary oil magnate J. Paul Getty, who was once regarded as the richest man in the world with a fortune estimated at $6 billion. Her celebrated family name has also long been shadowed by personal heartbreak and tragedy.

The former Tatler cover star exchanged vows with Faris, 41, at Chelsea Old Town Hall, before the newlyweds continued the celebrations with loved ones at Harry’s Bar, the exclusive private members’ club in Mayfair.

Isabel, who is based in London and works as a gallery owner and singer, welcomed her son Viggo with Faris last year. The couple’s Thursday wedding was an intimate affair, attended by a close circle of family and friends, some of whom later posted glimpses of the celebration on Instagram.

A source close to the couple told the Daily Mail: “It was a beautiful day celebrating a wonderful couple. Everyone is so happy for them.”

For the ceremony, Isabel opted for a fitted white jacket with fringed edging and a matching short skirt, teamed with a white pillbox-style hat and pointed cobalt blue heels. Faris wore a blue double-breasted suit and a patterned tie.

Their young son was part of proceedings too, with Faris carrying Viggo as the couple emerged from the town hall.

Friends and relatives gathered on the steps beneath a large floral arch and showered them with white confetti and red petals, while Isabel carried a bouquet of pink, peach and lilac flowers.

The newlyweds then left in a vintage black Rolls-Royce convertible, while their guests were ferried to the reception on a privately hired red Routemaster bus.

Celebrations continued at Harry’s Bar, where long dining tables were dressed with pink flowers and guests were handed instant cameras to snap photos of the day.

It was a joyful milestone for a family whose immense fortune has been overshadowed by a succession of personal tragedies over the years.

The most notorious came in 1973 when J. Paul Getty’s 16-year-old grandson, John Paul Getty III, was kidnapped in Rome and held for five months as his captors demanded a multi-million-dollar ransom.

His billionaire grandfather initially refused to pay the ransom, and the kidnappers cut off part of the teenager’s ear and sent it to an Italian newspaper before a reduced sum was eventually paid and he was freed.

John Paul Getty III later struggled with drug addiction and suffered a stroke at 25 that left him severely disabled. He died in 2011, aged 54.

The heartbreak did not end there. J. Paul Getty’s youngest son Timothy died of a brain tumour aged just 12, while his eldest son George died in 1973 after an overdose of pills.

Talitha Getty – the actress and model who married J. Paul Getty Jr and became a 1960s style icon – died in Rome in 1971, aged 30, following a suspected heroin overdose.

The extraordinary Getty saga has since reached both the big and small screens.

Christopher Plummer portrayed the patriarch in Ridley Scott’s 2017 film All the Money In The World, which dramatised the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III.

Donald Sutherland then took on the role in the 2018 television series Trust, which similarly focused on the abduction and its fallout, also starring Hilary Swank and Harris Dickinson.

The Getty name is now familiar around the world through photography, too. Isabel’s father’s cousin, Mark Getty, co-founded Getty Images in London in 1995, although the family’s original fortune was made in oil.

Isabel is the daughter of business leader Christopher Getty and film producer Pia Getty, and her lineage is doubly gilded.

While her great-grandfather J. Paul Getty built Getty Oil into an empire to become one of the richest men of the 20th century, she comes from another billionaire dynasty on her mother’s side.

Her maternal grandfather is Robert Miller, the business leader who co-founded the duty-free empire DFS Group.

Her mother’s sisters made high-profile unions of their own: Isabel’s aunt Marie-Chantal Miller is married to Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece, while Alexandra Miller was previously married to Prince Alexander von Furstenberg.

Isabel, though, has carved out her own path in Britain in the worlds of art and music.

After studying music and business at New York University, she returned to London, where she now runs The Graduate Gallery in Fitzrovia and fronts the rock band Jean Marlow.

She has spoken candidly about how the Getty surname can colour people’s first impressions of her.

‘Some people bring a prejudice beforehand about meeting me – socially, professionally,’ she said. ‘Which is fine, but after a while hopefully that goes. It’s just my family.’

The wedding comes two months after Isabel celebrated her hen weekend in Copenhagen.

The group took a boat out on the harbour and played games wearing masks bearing Faris’s face, while Isabel wore a white veil for the festivities.

They stayed at the five-star 1 Hotel Copenhagen, where rooms can cost up to £600 a night.

Tommy Paul Eyes US Open Revenge Against Carlos Alcaraz

Tommy Paul is set for another Grand Slam showdown with Carlos Alcaraz.

This time, the American will be chasing the kind of statement win that has eluded him in three previous major meetings with the reigning U.S. Open champion.

Alcaraz, seeded second, defeated Paul in the fourth round of the Australian Open in January. The result came in straight sets, but the match was far tighter than the scoreline suggested.

“We’ve had some good matches — one really, really bad beatdown at the French Open. But, I mean, he’s the best, him and [Jannik] Sinner,” the 20th-seeded Paul said after battling past No. 15 Alexander Bublik 6-4, 3-6, 6-7 (4), 6-1, 6-3. “They have been playing great, and I guess Carlos we haven’t really seen too much [due to injury], but obviously doing pretty well coming right back to competition.

“I mean, I’m going to have to play some pretty good tennis if I want to win that match, but I’m going to do my best. Hopefully I can.”

Only a few weeks ago, Paul knocked off Alexander Zverev, the top seed here, in the Cincinnati Open. He’s certainly capable.

“It helps, but at the same time, I like to think of myself as somebody who always thinks I can beat those players,” Paul said. “I mean, I don’t like to step on the court not thinking I can win. So I try to always go out there like that.

Third-seeded American Jessica Pegula faced adversity for the first time of the tournament. She dropped the first set in decisive fashion to No. 31 Leylah Fernandez of Canada, but rallied for a 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 win at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

“That’s pretty much the summary right there: slow start, strong finish,” Pegula said. “I mean, the [first] set I played today, I can’t honestly be that much worse. It was pretty not great on all those stats and everything. So I was, like, ‘It can’t be that much worse, I’m going to have to kind of find something here,’ and I think I always tell myself just to try and hang on to my serve.”

Pegula saved eight of nine break points in the final two sets, and advanced to meet Romanian Sorana Cirstea in the fourth round.

Unseeded American Alex Michelsen cruised past Daniel Merida Aguilar 7-6 (5), 6-4, 6-3 to advance into the fourth round of the U.S. Open.

He will face No. 27 Tomás Martín Etcheverry in the Round of 16 on Sunday.

Former Wheel of Fortune Announcer Jim Thornton’s ‘Panic’ Google Search Exposed After Pedophilia Chatroom Incident

Former “Wheel of Fortune” announcer Jim Thornton appeared to make a reference to “panic” after another airline passenger photographed him allegedly viewing an online pedophilia chatroom and reported the situation to a flight attendant in May.

Photos published Friday by TMZ show that, soon after a flight attendant instructed Thornton to shut his laptop, he appeared to type an unidentified question into Google on his phone. The partially legible AI-generated response reportedly said, “No link to your room: Unless you explicitly told someone ‘I am hosting this specific chatroom on for right now,’ nobody … at your internet … and link your … identity to … room.”

Another line, mostly blocked from view by Thornton’s hand, appeared to read, “Why You … to Panic.”

TMZ reported that the passenger who took the pictures claimed Thornton looked “nervous” after the flight attendant told him to close the laptop.

Thornton’s attorney did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment Friday evening.

News broke on Sept. 4 that Thornton had been fired from his longtime “Wheel of Fortune” position “following a thorough investigation” into the alleged incident.

“Jim Thornton’s employment with ‘Wheel of Fortune’ has been terminated, effective immediately,” a Sony Pictures Television Studios spokesperson told Page Six.

On Sept. 1, news emerged that Thornton had been suspended from his job on the game show.

“We have recently been made aware of allegations concerning Jim Thornton,” a Sony Pictures Television Studios representative previously told Page Six of the incident, which took place on May 14 on an American Airlines flight from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Los Angeles.

“He has been suspended from ‘Wheel of Fortune,’ and we are recasting while we conduct a thorough investigation.”

A representative for American Airlines told Page Six that on that date, “American Airlines Flight 1276 was met by law enforcement upon arrival at Los Angeles International Airport following concerns reported by a customer onboard.”

Allison Hart, an attorney for Thornton, insisted in a statement that Thornton “did not engage in any illegal conduct, was not arrested and has not been charged with any crime.”

Hart added, “When questioned about the complaint made by a fellow passenger on the flight, law enforcement spoke to [Thornton] for five minutes or less, immediately determined that no wrongdoing had occurred and told my client he was free to go.”

TMZ reported on Sept. 2 that the game show was scrambling to edit Thornton from the upcoming season set to debut Sept. 14, which a source described to the outlet as a “major undertaking.”

On Sept. 3, Hart elaborated further on the details of the plane incident, exclusively telling Page Six that Thornton had been “misdirected” to lifeline.chat when he meant to visit 988lifeline.org and its chat forum, chat.988lifeline.org. The latter websites offer suicide prevention support.

Hart claimed that Thornton “did not know that the website lifeline.chat claims to offer mental health support to individuals with pedophilic thoughts,” and he allegedly “left the page and has not visited since” upon realizing the website’s nature.

However, Hart insisted that the website lifeline.chat itself “is not unlawful” and contains “no unlawful child pornography or other pedophilic content,” adding that Thornton “has never viewed, downloaded or consumed any child pornography whether on that commercial flight in May or at any other time.”

Hart stressed that Thornton “was never arrested or charged with a crime,” claiming law enforcement “immediately confirmed that no crime had occurred” and told him he was “free to go.”

Thornton’s lawyer was adamant that he “did nothing wrong.”

Hours after Page Six reported Hart’s statement, TMZ published photos taken by a passenger seated next to Thornton on the American Airlines flight showing the TV personality in the chatroom while wearing a “Wheel of Fortune” jacket.

In two of the images, messages presumably posted by Thornton were written in the chat bar. These messages were later sent to the chatroom by username “NicholasB77,” per additional pictures.

During the dialogue, user “NicholasB77” commented that the restaurant Golden Corral is a “nice hangout for kids” and that they saw “a couple of cute boys and a hot little girl” while dining there the day before.

The user added in their next message, “All-you-can-eat Boyffet.”

According to displayed timestamps, the chatroom conversation spanned nearly an hour.

To date, Thornton — who shares one son with his wife of 35 years, Sue Thornton — has not been arrested or charged in connection with the incident.

He has also not yet addressed his termination.
