Shannon Beador Under Fire Again: Accusations of “Miserable” and “Narcissistic” Behavior Toward RHOC Crew

RHOC's Shannon Beador Called Out Again for Mistreatment of Crew as She’s Labeled "Miserable" and "Narcissistic," Plus Heather McDonald Mocks Her and Katie Ginella Reacts

Shannon Beador, a star of the popular Real Housewives franchise, found herself under fire over the weekend. A former producer from the show made headlines by criticizing her behavior towards crew members in a candid Instagram post.

The accusations against the 62-year-old Real Housewives of Orange County personality follow a wave of similar allegations questioning her on-set conduct. Comedian Heather McDonald, 56, added fuel to the fire by poking fun at Shannon’s tendency for dramatic antics. This prompted the ex-producer, who has previously criticized Bravo for fostering a toxic production environment, to voice his disapproval online.

“Calling all real housewives in need of a storyline, spaces at The Shannon Beador Acting Class is filling up fast,” Heather whimsically remarked in her Instagram post dated July 18.

Following the sharing of Heather’s video, a man named Patrick McDonald, who has worked on several Real Housewives shows, including Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and The Real Housewives of Potomac, came forward, sharing his experience with Shannon.

“It’s most wild to see her go from absolutely losing her sh*t, yelling, screaming & cussing at the producers & crew right before the cameras turn on & then she instantly clicks into this tired old performative shtick. One of the most miserable & narcissistic housewives across the entire brand,” he declared.

Meanwhile, in response, Heather confirmed, “You would know! Haha.”

Shannon Beador Called Out by Former RHOC Producer for Poor Treatment of Crew

After the comment was shared and began making its rounds on social media, Shannon’s former RHOC co-star, Katie Ginella, 42, weighed in.

“Well….” she wrote on Threads.

RHOC Katie Ginella Seemingly Confirms Shannon Beador's Mistreatment of Crew

As RHOC fans may recall, Shannon faced claims of treating Love Hotel staffers in a “subhuman” manner in September 2024 by host Joel Kim Booster, 38, who later apologized.

“Just because you’re a pathetic drunk on a reality television show best known for a string of failed relationships and a DUI does not give you license to treat the people you work with like they are subhuman. Period,” he stated in a brutal Instagram Story at the time. “They will make me delete this but DM me if you’d like to see some videos. Besos!”

Weeks later, Shannon responded to his allegations.

“We all get tired. Each one of at points were like, ‘Ok, I haven’t eaten, I’m exhausted, or I need to walk away,’ but it wasn’t like berating and screaming,” Shannon said on an October 2024 episode of The Viall Files. “All I can say is I didn’t [do what he said]. I don’t treat people subhuman.”

Still, the claims against her continued the following year.

“[Shannon] had to be told to cool it more than once. To take her anger out on the problem or even the cast, not the people just doing their jobs,” an insider told The U.S. Sun in July 2025. “Production had to step in and have a word with Shannon about the way she can speak to the filming crew sometimes.”

The Real Housewives of Orange County season 20 airs Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo.

Travis Kelce’s Ex Captivates Audiences at the 2026 TIME100 Sports Gala

Kayla Nicole, known as Travis Kelce’s former partner prior to his wedding to Taylor Swift, is basking in the spotlight with a newfound zest for life. Recently, she graced the inaugural TIME100 Sports Gala, an event honoring the most influential in sports, held in New York City on July 16, 2026. The accomplished sports journalist and podcast host caught everyone’s attention in a pastel blue halterneck creation by Cult Gaia, paired stylishly with delicate heels, a sleek ponytail, and cool-toned makeup that complemented her look. Nicole later shared her red carpet experience on Instagram, offering a peek at her striking poses and brimming confidence.

“Imagine thinking I was in my prime, and I just keep getting better and better,” Nicole’s cheeky caption read. Needless to say, her followers were obsessed. As one such fan gushed, “Always flawlessly beautiful!!!!” Another said, “We over here playing with AI and here you come! Gorgeous!” A third added, “Just wow.” The Sports Illustrated model’s latest outing comes after Kayla Nicole enjoyed a lavish getaway in France on the heels of Travis Kelce’s wedding to the pop superstar. She and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end dated for roughly five years before calling it quits for good in 2022. “So happy you left that boy alone!!” another commenter enthused. “Now you deserve a man queen.”

Is Kayla Nicole currently dating anyone?

In a candid chat with TMZ at Hollywood Unlocked’s 6th Annual Impact Awards in Beverly Hills this past June, Kayla Nicole gave insights into her love life. “I’m single as a dollar bill,” she declared with a smile. Expanding on her romantic endeavors, she shared that she’s open to dating and exploring different possibilities. When asked if she has a special interest, the “Welcome to the Pregame” podcast host emphasized that the attention is on her, stating, “People are focused on me. That’s the vibe and energy I’m putting out there.”

After a very public split from Travis Kelce, Nicole hasn’t shied away from expressing her desire for a partner who possesses “power” in her future relationships. Living a life of luxury, the Sports Illustrated beauty isn’t willing to compromise on her standards. During an appearance on the podcast “Behind the Likes” in 2024, she confidently articulated her preference, saying, “I find myself drawn to men in powerful positions, who, in turn, are attracted to me.” Despite her affinity for powerful partners, she did express a desire to branch out beyond the sports industry, noting, “I would love to date an executive in a record label or a film producer.”

That said, in a July 2026 interview with Spiritual World, the sports journalist seemed to have changed her tune slightly, admitting that she no longer believes in finding the perfect partner or even in the idea of a perfect relationship. “Love […] takes a lot of hard work,” Nicole acknowledged. “So I don’t even know if I need perfection. I just need real.”

Chicago Officer Injured in Albany Park Shooting: 3 Others Hurt

CHICAGO (WLS) — On a Monday morning in the Northwest Side of Chicago, a shooting incident left a police officer, two women, and a teenager wounded, as confirmed by authorities.

ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watch

According to CPD interim Superintendent Fred Waller, officers swiftly arrived at the scene following a report of gunfire shortly before 11 a.m. The incident occurred in Albany Park, specifically near the intersection of Springfield Avenue and Leland Avenue.

Upon arrival, police discovered a 67-year-old woman suffering from gunshot injuries. She was urgently transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital in a critical state.

Authorities reported that the suspected shooter had taken a teenage girl and a woman, believed to be his girlfriend, hostage inside the residence.

Investigations suggest that the woman who suffered gunshot injuries is likely the mother of the suspect’s girlfriend.

CPD said the incident was a domestic situation.

Witnesses described a chaotic situation as officers tried to get the man out.

“I saw them trying to shoot tear gas, but that wasn’t working. Then I heard the yelling, and then we were told to not go to the alley anymore because it’s going to become a very dangerous situation,” Anthony Ramos said.

When officers approached the door, the barricaded man allegedly shot through it and struck a veteran SWAT officer.

The officer was shot in the lower abdomen and was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital.

Waller said the officer is expected to make a full recovery after going into surgery.

The officer was wearing a bulletproof vest at the time of the shooting. Waller said he has been with the force for 20 years.

The suspect eventually released the woman and girl he was holding inside the home.

Waller said the women were “battered” when they were released. Both were taken to Stroger hospital and are expected to be OK.

The suspect then surrendered to Chicago police.

Waller said no officers discharged their weapons during the incident.

“This is yet another reminder of how hard this department works on behalf of the people of Chicago,” Mayor Brandon Johnson said. “I’m calling on the entire city of Chicago to continue to pray for our police department and our first responders.”

Charges have not been released. A weapon was recovered at the scene.

Tate Brothers Face Extradition Battle: Held in Jail on Rape and Trafficking Accusations

0

Social media sensations Andrew and Tristan Tate find themselves detained as they battle extradition requests from the United Kingdom. On Monday, the brothers appeared before a Miami federal court to contest numerous allegations, including charges of rape and human trafficking.

In a session that was brief yet significant, U.S. Magistrate Judge Lauren Louis clarified that their current detainment stems from a provisional arrest warrant issued by the U.K. Authorities in both nations have already initiated the formal extradition process.

Looking ahead, Judge Louis set July 27 as the date for a critical status hearing. This will give the Tate brothers a chance to formally challenge the extradition demands, as well as argue against their continued detention as legal proceedings unfold.

Speaking to the press, Attorney Joseph McBride declared the brothers’ innocence, expressing skepticism about their potential release from custody. He remains cautiously optimistic about their legal defense.

“There will be a series of hearings,” McBride said of the extradition process.

Andrew and Tristan Tate appeared wearing gray jail uniforms and shackles and each responded, “Yes, your honor,” when Judge Louis advised them of their rights.

The judge also explained that the proceeding was an extradition matter, not a criminal trial, and that the brothers would not be required to attend every hearing.

The brothers were arrested in Miami over the weekend after British authorities announced 38 additional charges involving four additional alleged victims.

Andrew Tate, 39, faces seven additional rape counts, as well as charges related to sex trafficking and indecent images of a child. Tristan Tate, 38, faces charges including two rape counts and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.

British police said the new allegations bring the total number of charges against the brothers to 59. The alleged offenses are said to have occurred between July 2010 and August 2017.

“We have decided to prosecute Andrew and Tristan Tate for further offenses including rape, arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation and offences relating to indecent images of a child,” Malcolm McHaffie, head of the Crown Prosecution Service’s Special Crime Division, said.

The Tate brothers, who hold dual U.S. and British citizenship, have denied wrongdoing.

They also face separate criminal proceedings in Romania, where authorities have been investigating them since December 2022.

“I want to make it clear there is no place for male violence against women and girls in our society and we will continue to work tirelessly to support victims and investigate all reports made to us,” said assistant chief constable Karena Thomas, lead for Britain’s Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire major crime unit.

The brothers have built a large online following promoting their views on masculinity and wealth, while Andrew Tate has previously described himself as a misogynist.

Andrew Tate is additionally due to face a civil trial in Britain brought by four women who accuse him of physical and sexual abuse.

The four claimants, who have been granted anonymity, allege Tate subjected them to physical or sexual violence between 2013 and 2015. Two say they were in an intimate relationship with Tate, while two worked for his online webcam business.

Andrew Tate denies those allegations. In his written defense, his lawyers said the claims are false and that all sexual activity was consensual.

DOJ Investigates Harvard’s Financial Aid Policies Over Alleged Discrimination Against U.S. Students

0

The U.S. Justice Department is currently scrutinizing Harvard University over claims that the elite institution accepted foreign donations, potentially giving an undue advantage to students from China and other nations over their American counterparts.

On Monday, the department expressed concerns about disclosures from Harvard regarding foreign funding. These documents suggest that some financial contributions may have come with conditions favoring individuals based on nationality. This has triggered an investigation to determine if these conditions infringe upon Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, which explicitly prohibits discrimination on the grounds of national origin in institutions receiving federal funds.

“Every American student deserves a fair chance at securing college scholarships, grants, and related financial assistance,” stated Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon. Her statement underscores the department’s commitment to equality in educational opportunities.

Dhillon further stressed, “It’s unlawful for schools to accept federal funds only to then turn around and accept foreign dollars that are earmarked in ways that exclude U.S. citizens. We stand ready to intervene whenever and wherever such practices arise.”

The Justice Department’s findings reveal that certain donors from China have directed Harvard to allocate their donations toward aid programs specifically aimed at students from selected countries. Such stipulations, they assert, may lead to unintended disadvantages for students of different nationalities, including those from the United States.

Officials stressed that the review remains ongoing and that the department has not reached any conclusions. The DOJ also did not identify the specific scholarships or donors under examination.

Harvard denied that its financial aid policies violate federal civil rights law.

“Harvard follows the law for required reporting of donations and, consistent with our legal obligations under Title VI, does not unlawfully discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, or national origin in allocating financial aid,” the university said in a statement.

Federal law requires colleges and universities to report foreign gifts and contracts worth at least $250,000. The DOJ said a Civil Rights Division audit of those disclosures found that Harvard had reported nearly $4.5 billion in foreign funding — more than any other American university — including over $630 million from China, its largest foreign source.

The university provides need-based institutional aid to international students, while federal grants and other government assistance are generally limited to eligible US students. Harvard also uses private scholarship and employment funds to support students from outside the country.

Some private gifts have been designated for students from specific nations. In 2014, SOHO China co-founders Pan Shiyi and Zhang Xin donated $15 million to support Chinese students at Harvard. The DOJ has not said whether that gift is part of its review.

The inquiry adds another front to the Trump administration’s broader conflict with Harvard. Federal officials have also scrutinized the university over alleged antisemitism, admissions practices and its treatment of foreign students.

A federal judge previously blocked the administration from cutting billions of dollars in research funding from Harvard as related litigation continues.

Tragic Ohio River Rescue: Five Lives Lost in Attempt to Save Swimmer

0

A heartbreaking rescue attempt turned deadly over the weekend, resulting in the loss of five lives in a turbulent Ohio river.

The tragic incident occurred on Sunday at the Scioto River in Powell. It began when a swimmer found themselves in perilous waters, according to Delaware County Sheriff Jeffrey Balzer.

Nearby, a group of individuals who had been fishing reacted quickly, rushing to the swimmer’s aid, only to become trapped by the river’s relentless current themselves.

“That’s when the tragedy began to unfold,” Balzer said. “One individual entered the river and was struggling. Two people followed in an attempt to rescue them, but they began struggling as well, prompting two more to enter the water.”

During the chaotic scene, a visibly distressed child ran along State Route 257, alerting a passing vehicle with the alarming news that his “family was in the river,” as recounted by Balzer.

The motorist quickly called 911. Several other calls were made to emergency services around 9.25pm on the night of the tragedy.

The sheriff said that two women were later pulled from the water and tragically pronounced dead at a hospital. The bodies of three men were found on Monday.

‘It’s not unusual for one person to be struggling in the water,’ said Sheriff Balzer.

‘Other people attempt to save them, yet they don’t have the skills to do that, so we end up with multiple deaths.’

There were two young children at the scene, ages 6 and 7. It was not immediately clear if their parents were among those found in the river.

‘There may have been two sets of parents, two children and then someone else,’ Sheriff Balzer said.

The sheriff’s office said the kids are in the care of Delaware County Job and Family Services.

Water conditions of the river on Sunday were high and fast, according to data from a US Geological Survey water gauge at the nearby dam.

The river was flowing at a rate of about 350 cubic feet per second, which is more than double the average rate.

Balzer warned swimmers to take safety precautions, especially during the summer months.

‘Anytime you’re near water, you need to be confident in your swimming ability or have safety devices available. There’s no shame in wearing a life jacket. It saves lives every day,’ he said.

The tragedy comes shortly after a 23-year-old woman lost her mother, stepdad, and three brothers in treacherous flash floods during a family hike in Utah.

Spencer and Katrina Long, both 44, and their three sons, Thayne, 13, Gage, 12, and Reid, were swept away after ‘heavy rain’ came down on Friday near the Sunglow campground while they went hiking and canyoneering, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies were first called to the campground that night after the body of a young man was found in the flood wash.

Spencer, a decorated Provo Fire Captain, and two of his sons, were located that night. His wife and their other son were discovered the following morning.

MEMORISE: See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; – Deuteronomy 30:15 (KJV)

READ: Exodus 21:1-6 (KJV)

1 Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.

2 If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.

3 If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.

4 If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself.

5 And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:

6 Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Isaiah 25-28

Open Heaven 21 July 2026 MESSAGE

Yesterday, I mentioned that admitting there is a burden and recognising the need for God’s help to remove it is the first step that people who are under the yoke of satan must take to become free from his bondage. Today, I will discuss the next step that such people must take to gain their freedom.

While admitting the need for help is the first step to gaining freedom from satan’s bondage, the second step is to be willing to be helped. In John 5:2-9, Jesus asked a man who had been sick for 38 years, “Do you want to be made whole?” Ordinarily, one would think that there is no need to ask a man who had suffered for so long if he wanted to be made whole. However, Jesus asked him the question because He knew that not everyone wants to be helped; some people love their burdens and do not want to be set free from them. Today’s Bible reading tells us that when slaves love their chains, their owners should pierce their ears and brand them as slaves for life.

No matter how long a slave has been in slavery, the day such a fellow decides that he or she wants to be free marks the beginning of his or her journey to freedom. For example, the day the woman with the issue of blood in Matthew 9:20-22 sought Jesus for her deliverance was the day her bondage of 12 years disappeared. The Almighty God can deliver anyone who is under the devil’s yoke, even a lawful captive (Isaiah 49:24-26); however, he or she must be willing to be delivered.

Beloved, any Christian who is still indulging in the pleasures of sin is under the devil’s bondage and is clearly not willing to be free. Anyone who claims to be a believer but keeps company with people who lure him or her to sin is under satan’s yoke and cannot be free until he or she decides to cut off such relationships. It is not enough for a person to just declare that he or she wants to be free; the person’s actions must show a willingness to be free. Such a person must live a holy life and must be committed to praying, studying the Bible regularly, and fellowshipping with other believers. God will fight for such a person and give him or her total freedom.

White Australia Policy Resurgence: Unveiling Political Motives

0

Pauline Hanson, the leader of the One Nation party, has ignited fresh debates over the reemergence of a ‘White Australia’ policy—a historically contentious set of laws that once marginalized non-European immigrants.

Last week, during a podcast featuring the British far-right figure and anti-immigration advocate Tommy Robinson—who is also a convicted criminal—Hanson claimed the abandonment of the White Australia policy triggered the current migration challenges facing the nation.

She remarked, “It all began in 1973 with Gough Whitlam’s administration, which dismantled the White Australia policy and subsequently ushered in a variety of new migrants.”

Although Hanson later clarified she doesn’t endorse such policies, this growing anti-immigration discourse has raised concerns about whether Australia might accidentally echo pieces of its past.

What was the White Australia policy?

The White Australia policy wasn’t merely a single edict but comprised numerous laws devised to curb non-British immigration to Australia.

“It essentially believed that Australia needed to be a homogenous white culture,” Benjamin T Jones, an Australian political history expert, told SBS News.

“It prioritised immigration, especially from white British settlers, who they believed would integrate best into an Australian society.”

It began with the Immigration Restriction Act 1901, which included a dictation test of 50 words in any European language, which became the way certain people ended up being excluded from Australia.

“You were never intended to pass it. It’s a test that was designed to be failed,” Mark Cully, the author of a new book on Australia’s immigration economic history, told SBS News.

Even after the test was removed, it remained difficult for those who weren’t European or North American to obtain permits to Australia, Cully says, and they were effectively excluded from applying for permanent residence.

The end of the White Australia policy began under Harold Holt in the 1960s, and it was dismantled under the Whitlam government in 1975, when the Racial Discrimination Act was passed, making it illegal to “offend, insult, humiliate or intimidate” someone because of their race.

“It’s kind of astonishing in some ways that that policy, which is so ingrained and normalised and seen by many Australians as uncontroversial for 60 odd years, was then unwound, roughly over a decade,” Cully said.

“Since then, we’ve had the embrace of multiculturalism. Australia and Canada really stand out across the world as being exemplar countries for welcoming migrants from anywhere in the world and doing it in a fairly objective and considered and non-discriminatory way.”

Does One Nation support a White Australia policy?

Hanson has since clarified her remarks, saying she doesn’t support the White Australia policy.

“Never, ever have I advocated that, and I don’t believe in that,” she said in a video posted to social media over the weekend.

Pauline Hanson, draped in an Australian flag. She's in a crowd where many other people are wearing Australian flags. A large banner with the Australian flag reads "March for Australia".

One Nation MP Barnaby Joyce said the party does not support the White Australia policy, but it did not want to replicate “social fissures” he said were happening in the United Kingdom, such as people not speaking English in councils and an “evolvement of a culture” that was not English.

Asked on Channel 7’s Spotlight program on Sunday what she thought of the concept of mass deportations in Australia, Hanson replied: “I love it.” One Nation’s policy is to deport 75,000 illegal migrants.

One Nation, though, does want to exclude some Muslims from Australia. Hanson has advocated for a ban on immigrants from some Muslim-majority countries, adding she’s concerned about “radical Islamic ideologies”. She has not specified a list of which countries.

In her maiden Senate speech in 2016, she said, without evidence, that Australia was “in danger of being swamped by Muslims, who bear a culture and ideology that is incompatible with our own”.

Are White Australia ideals reemerging?

Earlier this year, Opposition leader Angus Taylor vowed to change Australia’s non-discriminatory immigration program by “discriminating based on values” — through a binding Australian values test.

He said immigration “standards have been too low”, claiming that migrants from liberal democracies are more likely to subscribe to Australian values compared to those migrating from places “ruled by fundamentalists, extremists and dictators”.

At the time, the Greens accused Taylor of trying to revive the White Australia policy. Taylor says the policy does not discriminate based on race, religion, or nationality.

Demographer Liz Allen said the spectre of the White Australia policy still looms over Australia — for example, in immigration tests, and the fact that Australia’s public holidays don’t reflect a multicultural nation.

“Australia is stuck in the past, and we still have this looming rhetoric that Australia is a white country, even though we have a Blak history, and the nation is geographically in the Asian region,” she said.

She believes at the heart of the debate is the fact ‘Australian values’ aren’t officially defined.

“We have been so afraid of not fitting in and so desiring of assimilation in this country throughout our history, that we’ve never ever sat down as a nation and had an earnest reflection on what it means to be Australian and what is Australian identity,” she told SBS News.

Cully says reverting to a White Australia policy would seem “almost impossible” given the decades of legal and administrative changes around universal visa entry.

“I can’t see politically there’s any chance that there could be changes to the kind of fundamentals of Australian immigration that would allow us to return to excluding people by virtue of their country of birth, or their ethnicity, or their religious faith.”

Jones said Australia had a history of racism against new migrant groups, which then settles down as the group, too, settles in.

“There tends to be a pattern that over the decades, people see the reality that from whatever country these migrants come from, they invest in Australia, they raise their children here, they contribute to the economy, and you know, in some cases, they go on and play for the Socceroos,” he said.

“Especially in an electoral system like ours where voting is compulsory, it’s going to be very difficult for One Nation to make much political traction on what I see as a ridiculous proposal that ending White Australia somehow hurt the country, when it has objectively had so many benefits.”

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said it wasn’t just a Labor government responsible for moving Australia away from the White Australia policy, but had been a bipartisan approach.

“Modern Australia is made up of, with the exception of First Nations people, people who’ve come from all over the world to make Australia their home, to have a better life for themselves, but importantly for their children and grandchildren, generations to come,” he said on Saturday.

Europe’s Green Agenda Faces Backlash: Industry at Risk, Warns Environment Minister

0

UNITED NATIONS — As Europe strives to balance climate goals with economic vitality, Czech Environment Minister Igor Červený has issued a stark warning: persistent pursuit of aggressive climate policies may spell disaster for the continent’s industrial sector. His comments, shared during an in-depth discussion with News Media, highlight the growing tension between environmental agendas and industrial stability.

In his inaugural visit to the United Nations, where he delivered remarks at the U.N. High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, Červený cautioned, “If we don’t change course, we risk crushing our industry.” His words struck a chord with those voicing concern over Europe’s approach to its climate strategy.

Particularly under scrutiny is the automotive industry, an emblematic sector of Europe’s manufacturing prowess. Červený spotlighted the inclination among manufacturers to relocate production facilities overseas, driven by increasing operational pressures.

Europe’s struggle to align its economic resurgence with lofty climate commitments is becoming a focal point of global discourse. As the debate unfolds, it holds significant implications for the United States, Europe’s principal economic ally. The complex interplay of energy policies, industrial competitiveness, and the phased shift from fossil fuels weaves a challenging fabric of transatlantic relations.

Ambassador Dan Negrea moderates a panel at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations’

During the “Trade Over Aid” forum at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador Dan Negrea facilitated a lively exchange among panelists, including Igor Červený. “If you look at the market at this moment, mostly in European countries, there is a very bad situation,” he said. “We see many companies leave our territory and leave for China or another place in the world.”

Without those companies, he said, European governments would lose both tax revenue and jobs.

Červený argued that European governments must find a “win-win” approach that protects the environment without undermining industry and employment.

“We have to be very careful about this and be very reasonable and try to find some solution for both sides,” he said. “If you look from a higher perspective at European countries, most of them provided only the green ideology. And I think this is a bad way.”

Červený said resistance to the current approach was spreading beyond the Czech Republic, citing Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Germany and some Scandinavian countries.

The Czech Republic has been among several European governments pressing Brussels to ease parts of the Green Deal, including by delaying the bloc’s new carbon market for buildings and road transport and seeking changes to emissions-trading rules that Prague argues are raising energy costs and weakening industrial competitiveness.

Červený’s warning stood in contrast to the position presented by European Commissioner for Environment Jessika Roswall during the ministerial segment of the U.N. High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in New York on July 13. The annual forum, convened under the U.N. Economic and Social Council, brings governments together to review progress toward the organization’s global development goals.

Roswall, speaking on behalf of the European Union and its member states, said the bloc remained committed to the 2030 Agenda, a U.N. framework adopted in 2015 that sets 17 goals covering issues including poverty, health, clean energy, infrastructure and environmental protection to be pursued by 2030. She warned that progress was being undermined by conflict, inequality and the “triple planetary crisis of climate change, pollution and biodiversity loss.”

She called for accelerated climate action, greater investment in renewable energy and low-carbon technologies, and support for a broader green transition.

“The challenge is not the lack of ideas, but the lack of speed,” she said. “So let’s speed up together.”

In his exclusive interview with News Media, Červený also praised President Donald Trump for strengthening European politicians who favor a less regulatory approach.

“I’m glad that Mr. Donald Trump is president again, because this changed many things also in European countries,” he said, adding that the United States gives smaller countries such as the Czech Republic a stronger partner in debates in Brussels.

Červený said Europe does not need to abandon sustainability, but should pursue it gradually and in cooperation with industry.

“We have to change the course,” he said, “because we don’t want to lose our industry, our economy, our benefits for society and the environment as well.”

Tourist Tragedy Unfolds Near Acropolis: Stabbing Leaves 2 Injured in Athens

On Tuesday morning, a shocking incident unfolded near Athens’ iconic Acropolis, as a man attacked and injured two tourists, according to reports from the Greek police.

The victims, both Greek Americans visiting this famed historical site, were targeted with a knife by the assailant near the entrance of the Acropolis Museum. This museum is a prominent location situated at the base of the Acropolis hill.

Police reports indicate that the woman sustained minor injuries to her leg, whereas the man faced more severe harm, suffering lacerations to his arm.

Following the attack, authorities swiftly apprehended the suspect, and emergency services transported the injured tourists to the hospital for medical care.

While the attacker’s identity remains unknown, initial investigations by the police suggest he might be battling psychological issues.

Violent street attacks are rare in Greece.

In April, authorities arrested an 89-year-old man who allegedly opened fire with a shotgun in a social security office and a courthouse in central Athens, wounding at least four people, reportedly over social security grievances.

The Acropolis hill in Athens hosts the nearly 2,500-year-old Parthenon temple as well as other monuments, and attracts millions of tourists.
