Jude Law and Phillipa Coan: Captivating Photos Highlighting Their Unique Bond

Jude Law’s romantic history has been a rollercoaster, but his marriage to Dr. Phillipa Coan seems to have brought some calm into his life. Unlike his previous partners, Coan isn’t from the entertainment world. She’s a psychologist specializing in energy management and climate change through her company, Stride. It seems her professional expertise was part of the charm that captivated the “Sherlock Holmes” actor, leading to a whirlwind romance.

The couple began dating in early 2015, and Coan quickly became a part of Law’s inner circle, meeting his family and even his ex-wife, Sadie Frost, with whom he shares three children. “He’s truly taken with her and doesn’t want to ruin it,” a source revealed to the Daily Mail in May 2015. After a patient courtship, the two tied the knot in a modest ceremony at a town hall in April 2019, reflecting Coan’s preference for privacy.

Interestingly, there is a notable 13-year age difference between Law and Coan. Despite being the elder, Law seems to hold Coan’s insights in high regard, particularly as he grows older. “Phil’s a psychologist, which means we have a healthy dialogue about our feelings,” Law shared with GQ in November 2024. He added, “It’s important to reflect during mid-life—what patterns have I formed, what are my relationships like?”

Their harmonious relationship might be partly attributed to Coan’s aversion to the limelight. Despite their under-the-radar romance, photos of the couple highlight their age gap, which is apparent in their public appearances.

In September 2024, Coan visited Law on the set of “Black Rabbit.” Two photos from the visit drew attention: one showing Law animatedly gesturing while Coan appeared unfazed, and another where his casual attire hinted at a more mature physique. Coan, on the other hand, exuded effortless elegance in a cropped off-the-shoulder top that highlighted her slender figure. She completed her look with stylish sunglasses, projecting a cool and youthful vibe, even sans makeup in the unfiltered shots.

Phillipa Coan dropped by the set of “Black Rabbit” to visit Jude Law in September 2024. Two snaps stood out on the occasion, with the first capturing the series’ star enthusiastically pointing as his wife looked on disinterestedly. Law wore a white top that hinted at a paunchy figure, and his receding hairline was prevalent. Meanwhile, Coan looked effortlessly chic in a cropped off-the-shoulder top that showcased her midriff and taut frame. She also sported a pair of sunglasses that added to her cool demeanor. A second snap caught Coan without the glasses, and she looked youthful and fresh-faced despite the apparent lack of detailed makeup.

Mr. and Mrs. Jude Law roam London in June 2020

In June 2020, Jude Law and Phillipa Coan were photographed by paparazzi as they walked the streets of London after visiting The Salvation Army. Coan stood several inches taller than her husband (even though they both wore flat shoes), but the most noticeable feature of the photo was how old Law looked in the candid shots. His hair was dyed with blond highlights, but his beard was untouched and featured large tufts of gray throughout. Plus, his face looked overly tanned and grizzled — especially when juxtaposed next to Coan’s delicate features.

Jude Law and his family on the Walk of Fame in December 2024

It was a family affair when Jude Law was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in December 2024. Along with his wife, Phillipa Coan, Law brought his daughter, model Iris Law, and his son, actor Raff Law. What made Jude’s age so noticeable this time around was not his own appearance, but rather his adult children’s. Pics of the event were posted by Extra to Instagram, and several users noted Jude was considerably older than Coan. “The daughter and wife look the same age. I was confused,” one person commented, while another asked, “Which one is the wife and which is the daughter?”

Law and Coan at a New York Rangers game in December 2016

Early on in their relationship, Jude Law and Phillipa Coan packed on the PDA when they attended a New York Rangers game in December 2016. Coan’s fair and nearly flawless complexion glowed next to her beau’s at Madison Square Garden. On the other hand, Law’s wrinkles and crow’s feet were prevalent as he cozied up next to Coan. Even worse, Law seemed to be in the beginning stages of balding in the picture. He did what he could to conceal his ever-expanding widow’s peak by brushing his curled locks forward, but unfortunately for him, his forehead shone brightly under the stadium lighting.

Jude Law and Phillipa Coan sat courtside at a New York Knicks game for an early date in February 2016. The pair wore matching black ensembles, with Law possibly attempting to look younger with his dyed jet black hair, which he wore in a faux-hawk. Their outfits may have matched, but the couple’s age was clearly mismatched, with Law’s hair giving away his advanced years. He had a five o’clock shadow and tufts of exposed chest hair nearly up his neck, and his receding hairline was being uncooperative. There were also visible crow’s feet around his eyes, while Coan looked especially young with rosy cheeks.

A classy Coan and Law attend Wimbledon in July 2016

Jude Law brought Phillipa Coan with him to another sporting event in 2016, this time the men’s singles semi-final match at Wimbledon. The pair wore their Wimbledon best, complementing each other with navy blue elements in his suit and her dress, and they each wore chic sunglasses. This was another case of their 13-year age gap capturing attention, not because of Law looking old, but because Coan appeared so youthful. She was the one giving off movie star vibes, as her fair skin was blemish-free, and it was all accomplished with minimal beauty products. She almost looked like a young Meryl Streep.

Trump-Backed Clay Fuller Triumphs in Georgia, Taking Over Marjorie Taylor Greene’s House Seat

RINGGOLD, Ga. — In a significant political victory, Republican Clay Fuller secured the U.S. House seat previously held by Marjorie Taylor Greene in Georgia. Despite concerns over tensions with Iran, Fuller’s triumph was bolstered by an endorsement from former President Donald Trump, successfully overcoming a Democratic challenge.

Representing a staunchly conservative district where Greene had previously won by a 29-point margin and Trump had dominated by nearly 37 points in the previous election, Fuller managed to maintain a comfortable lead, winning by approximately 12 points with nearly all votes accounted for. This outcome contributes to a series of special elections where Democrats have shown stronger-than-anticipated performances, a trend they hope will build momentum as they approach the November midterm elections with the control of Congress at stake.

In a separate election on the same day, a candidate supported by Democrats achieved a decisive victory in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race, further solidifying the liberal majority in that court.

Fuller attributed his win over Democratic opponent Shawn Harris to the enduring influence of Trump, declaring to his supporters in Ringgold, close to the Tennessee border, “They couldn’t beat Donald Trump and they never will. I will be on Capitol Hill as a warrior to have his back each and every day.”

“They couldn’t beat Donald Trump and they never will,” he told supporters in Ringgold, near the border with Tennessee. “And I will be on Capitol Hill as a warrior to have his back each and every day.”

However, Trump’s escalating rhetoric had some Republicans concerned, even in this deep red district. The president had set a deadline for Tuesday at 8 p.m. — one hour after polls closed in Georgia — for Iran to reach a deal with the United States, saying that “a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.” However, he later announced a two-week ceasefire to allow negotiations to continue.

Acworth resident Jason McGinty said he was worried Trump was “about to go too far” and “may be committing a war crime” if he followed through on threats to bomb power plants and other infrastructure in Iran. He voted for Fuller to “make sure the America First party is still in place.”

Retiree Judy McDonald agreed with the president’s decision to go to war but was “very anxiety-ridden” over the conflict.

“Eventually we will have peace and the Iranians will kind of come to a conclusion that they won’t have a country if they don’t stop the terrorism,” she said.

Some Democrats hoped the election would send a message to Trump

Fuller will serve out the remaining months of Greene’s term, bolstering the party’s slim majority in the House, where Republicans control 217 seats to Democrats’ 214, with one independent.

He’ll have to face another Republican primary on May 19 to win a full two-year term, and could face a June 16 party runoff. Harris is already the Democratic nominee for November.

Retiree Melinda Dorl supported Harris “so it sends a message to Trump and his cronies that people aren’t happy,” she said.

“This war was totally uncalled for. Trump is a liar. Everything he says is a lie,” Dorl said, adding that Trump was wrecking relationships with countries that have traditionally been American allies.

Harris, a cattle farmer and retired general who describes himself as a “dirt-road Democrat,” stirred enthusiasm even among supporters who expected him to lose.

“I voted for the Democrat even though this is a very red district and the Democrat has almost no chance of winning,” said Michael Robards, a software engineer from Kennesaw who calls himself a center-right independent. He said he wants to see Trump’s policies rolled back and the president again impeached.

Georgia’s 14th District stretches across 10 counties from suburban Atlanta to Tennessee. After losing to Greene two years ago, Harris said his strong showing this time would be a stepping stone to November.

“We’re going to beat him next time,” Harris said on Tuesday in Rome, Georgia.

Fuller said he had withstood Democrats’ best punch.

“The left did their best. They poured in millions upon millions of dollars,” Fuller told reporters. “And what you’re seeing is the best that they can accomplish.”

Fuller had presidential support

Trump endorsed Fuller, a district attorney who prosecuted crimes in four counties, to succeed Greene in February, boosting him over other Republican candidates in a crowded field.

Greene, once among Trump’s most ardent supporters, had split with the president by criticizing his foreign policy and his reluctance to release documents involving the Jeffrey Epstein case. The president eventually had enough, saying he would support a primary challenge against her. Greene announced a week later that she would resign.

Outside of Congress, Greene has continued to assail Trump.

“Trump was elected to go to war against America’s deep state and to end America’s involvement in foreign wars,” she wrote on social media on Tuesday. “Not to kill an entire civilization while waging a foreign war on behalf of Israel, another foreign country.”

However, Fuller has backed Trump to the hilt — including the war — and has identified no issue on which he disagreed with the president.

Trump reiterated his support for Fuller on Monday night and then again on Tuesday.

“To the Great Patriots in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District: GET OUT AND VOTE TODAY for a fantastic Candidate, Clay Fuller, who has my Complete and Total Endorsement!” the president wrote on social media.

Oil Prices Drop Dramatically as Stock Futures Soar Following Ceasefire Agreement

0

On Tuesday, oil prices experienced a significant decline after former President Donald Trump announced a temporary two-week ceasefire with Iran, which includes reopening the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

Following Trump’s announcement on Truth Social, the price of U.S. crude oil plummeted by 18%, settling below $93 per barrel. This marked a sharp drop from earlier in the day when it was trading above $117.

This dramatic decrease represents the largest single-day dip in oil prices since the Gulf War in 1991.

In tandem with the news of the ceasefire, prices for natural gas and heating oil also saw notable reductions.

Brent crude, a key international benchmark, declined by around six percent, closing at $103.40. Despite recent fluctuations, oil prices remain significantly higher than their levels prior to the conflict’s onset.

Dow futures went up 1,000 points, Nasdaq 100 futures nearly three percent and S&P 500 futures rose over 2.5 percent, NBC News reported.

In the bond market, Treasury yields eased on word of a potential cease-fire. The yield on the 10-year Treasury fell to 4.24 percent from 4.30 percent earlier Tuesday.

That’s still well above its 3.97 percent level from before the war, and the rise has pushed up rates for mortgages and other loans going to US households and businesses, which slows the economy.

Shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, a chokepoint in the Persian Gulf through which 20 percent of the world’s oil normally flows, had been all but halted, sending oil prices soaring and roiling the stock market.

Trump said Iran has proposed a ‘workable’ 10-point peace plan that could help end war the US and Israel launched on February 28.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said it has accepted a two-week ceasefire and its foreign minister said passage through the strait would be allowed for the next two weeks under Iranian military management.

Earlier, US stocks swung sharply during regular trading as uncertainty about the war with Iran increased after Trump had threatened that a ‘whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again’ if Iran did not meet his deadline at 8pm Eastern time to open the Strait of Hormuz.

Oil prices have spiked because the war has snarled the production and transportation of crude in the Persian Gulf.

Much of that oil exits the gulf through the Strait of Hormuz to reach customers around the world, but Iran has blocked it to enemies.

The worry in markets has been that a long-term disruption will keep oil prices high for a long time and send a painful wave of inflation crashing through the global economy.

Trump kept traders on edge by making a series of threats to blow up Iranian power plants only to delay several times.

Should the U.S. trust Iran’s promises and ease up, or is this ceasefire a risky move for global security?

A year ago, Trump ultimately backed off many of the stiff tariffs that he initially threatened to put on imports from other countries, though they ended up higher than from before his second term.

Trump posted on Truth Social, ‘I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks,’ after earlier sparking doomsday fears when he threatened to wipe out its ‘entire civilization’ if they did not reopen the Strait.

The President said that after talks with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif he had been assured that Iran will agree ‘to the complete, immediate, and safe opening of the Strait of Hormuz.’

‘This will be a double-sided ceasefire,’ Trump wrote. ‘The reason for doing so is that we have already met and exceeded all military objectives, and are very far along with a definitive agreement concerning long-term peace with Iran.’

Israel also agreed to halt attacks on Iran for two weeks, a senior White House official told Axios, with the ceasefire taking effect once the Strait of Hormuz is re-opened.

Iran accepted the Pakistan-brokered deal after a last-minute Chinese intervention urged Tehran to show flexibility over the war’s economic fallout, three Iranian officials told the New York Times.

Iran’s 10-point plan, published by state-run Tasnim news agency, demands the US accept Tehran’s continued control over the Strait, recognize its right to uranium enrichment, lift all sanctions, pay compensation and withdraw all troops from the region.

Trump’s Reversal on Iran Threat: Expert Analysis on Ongoing Uncertainty

The operation known as Epic Fury has been unfolding in Iran for over a month, with tensions reaching a new peak this past Tuesday evening.

President Trump had issued a stern warning, indicating that every bridge and power plant in Iran could face destruction if a resolution was not achieved by 7 p.m. Central Time. However, around 5:30 p.m., he decided to extend the deadline by two weeks.

Costly Solar Setback: Woman’s Daily ₦38,000 Fuel Expense Sparks Outrage

A woman recently turned to social media in exasperation after investing several million naira in a solar power system that failed to deliver on its promises.

Frustration over unreliable solar system

In a widely circulated post on Monday, she shared her disappointment, noting that her newly installed inverter and solar setup, intended to minimize fuel reliance, provides electricity for only a few hours each day.

Her grievance underscores the broader concerns about the effectiveness and expense of alternative energy solutions in the face of Nigeria’s ongoing power shortages.

I’m fed up with this solar headache. My inverter supports us for merely four hours daily, and I’ve resorted to using a generator again. I spend ₦38,000 on fuel every single day,” she lamented.

Rising energy costs spark wider concern

Her remarks have ignited discussions among Nigerians grappling with similar challenges of unreliable electricity and the substantial costs associated with maintaining alternative power sources.

While solar energy is often promoted as a long-term solution to erratic power, some users argue that poor installation, substandard equipment, or unrealistic expectations may contribute to disappointing outcomes.

The situation reflects a broader trend, as many households have increasingly turned to solar systems in recent years following repeated tariff hikes and unreliable grid supply.

However, complaints about performance and maintenance costs continue to surface, raising questions about accessibility and sustainability.

If you don’t invest properly or get the right setup, you may still end up relying on fuel,” she implied, as reactions poured in from users sharing similar experiences.

A-10 Warthog Assigned Innovative Maritime Mission to Target Iranian Boats Amid Retirement Deliberations

0

The A-10 Warthog is now playing a pivotal role in maritime operations, specifically in targeting vessels amid the conflict with Iran. This development could potentially extend the aircraft’s service life, despite the U.S. Air Force’s long-standing plans to retire it.

Efforts by the Air Force to phase out the A-10 have faced significant resistance from Congress, which has consistently blocked any reductions in the fleet of these aircraft.

The A-10s have been actively deployed in U.S. military operations against Iran, as the Pentagon recognizes the aircraft’s capability to loiter and deliver precise firepower against small boats and coastal threats.

In a Pentagon briefing last month, Gen. Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, confirmed that A-10s are actively engaged in the conflict. They are operating along the southern flank, including targeting Iranian vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

“We continue to hunt and kill mine storage facilities and naval ammunition depots. We continue to hunt and kill afloat assets, including more than 120 vessels and 44 mine layers, and the pressure will continue,” Caine said in the March 19 briefing.

“The A-10 Warthog is now in the fight across the southern flank and is hunting and killing fast attack watercraft in the Straits of Hormuz. In addition, AH-64 Apaches have joined the fight on the southern flank, and they continue to work on the southern side. And that includes some of our allies who are using Apaches to handle one-way attack drones,” he continued.

This comes as President Donald Trump has escalated threats against Iran, including its civilian infrastructure, over its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, which has disrupted global energy shipments. However, the U.S. and Iran agreed to a temporary ceasefire on Tuesday, hours before Trump’s deadline to strike power plants and bridges unless Tehran reopened the Strait of Hormuz.

As of 2026, the Air Force has around 280 A-10 aircraft in service, and Congress required that the fleet not fall below 103 aircraft in Fiscal Year 2026 as part of the National Defense Authorization Act.

While the A-10 is slower and less stealthy than newer aircraft, making it vulnerable in heavily contested airspace against modern integrated air defense systems, it has a long loiter time over target areas and the ability to visually identify and engage targets.

Originally designed as a Cold War-era tank killer, the A-10 is now being used in a markedly different role — targeting small, fast-moving boats and coastal threats amid the conflict with Iran. The use of the aircraft is intensifying debate over the Air Force’s decade-long effort to retire the jet, as it continues to be utilized in new missions.

Chatham County’s Top Fugitive: Sheriff Launches Intense Search

CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. — In a decisive move, Chatham County Sheriff Richard Coleman announced the county’s most sought-after fugitive on Tuesday night, delivering a stern message that evading the law is not an option.

Authorities have identified Meshawn Shamar Richardson as a suspect in a series of burglaries, attracting the attention of both local law enforcement and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Richardson is wanted on federal charges, while the county seeks to apprehend him on felony charges.

Sheriff Coleman acknowledged that Richardson has so far managed to stay one step ahead of the authorities. Last week, searches were conducted in the areas of Montgomery Landings and Westlake in an attempt to locate him.

Expressing his determination during a live Facebook broadcast on Tuesday, Coleman declared, “I’ll get you if it’s the last thing I do on Earth.”

While conducting a vehicle search at Westlake following a tip-off about Richardson’s whereabouts, deputies discovered a significant quantity of drugs, which Coleman described as “enough dope to supply the whole West Chatham County.”

“You led us right to the dope Meshawn,” the sheriff said. “…Thanks to brother Meshawn we got pounds of dope off the street…Back to you being a suspect villain.”

Sheriff Coleman’s example of Richardson’s alleged disguise.

Coleman said Richardson wore a disguise to escape deputies at Westlake and gave residents a demonstration of what he was dressed like. The sheriff said the “street OG” wore a wig, shades and a hat to escape.

“You will not victimize anybody else in this in county,” he said. “Do you understand me? Matter fact, everybody that’s listening, check your pockets, I’m calling his name. I might have something missing out of my pockets, I’m calling his name too much.”

Richardson allegedly jumped out of the car and ran from law enforcement in two instances, once with Savannah Police and once with county deputies.

Coleman said that he is “on his neck” and will continue to be until Richardson is arrested.

Parents Abandon Baby at Crime Scene After Copper Cable Theft, Police Report

In Pennsylvania, a couple is facing charges after allegedly abandoning their 4-month-old baby at a crime scene during a theft incident.

The pair, Joseph Daniels, aged 49, and Angelina Williams, aged 32, are facing multiple charges. These include theft by unlawful taking, child endangerment, theft of secondary metal, possession of stolen goods, criminal mischief, conspiracy, and possession of crime instruments, as confirmed by the Upper Chichester Township Police Department. For further details, you can check the official police report.

Additionally, a third individual, Ray Gibase, 47, is also facing similar charges in connection with the incident.

The police report states that around 2:15 a.m. on March 30, the three suspects were allegedly engaged in tampering with cable wires near the 3100 block of Meetinghouse Road in Upper Chichester Township. They were reportedly using a maroon Chrysler 300 and a Jeep Liberty during the operation.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers observed the Chrysler with cable wires sticking out of the open trunk and hand saws visibly placed on the passenger seats. It is alleged that the group was cutting an inactive Verizon cable, according to local news coverage by ABC affiliate WPVI.

“The copper inside the cables is a hot item for the precious metals to be melted down and taken to wherever they can to get pawned,” Upper Chichester Police Department Lt. Christopher Jones told the outlet.

The police department said its officers “secured and towed” the Chrysler to its headquarters and waited for a search warrant to be approved. However, while inspecting it, an officer “observed a baby car seat covered with a blanket. He then noticed movement and discovered an infant inside.”

“Once it was back here, our officers were checking the exterior of the car, and one officer noticed that a blanket in the backseat moved slightly,” Jones said.

Officers went inside and found that the baby boy was “unharmed” and sleeping. He was brought to a local hospital to be looked over.

The three suspects are believed to have driven away in the Jeep as the officers initially arrived at the crime scene. Sometime later, officers with the Aston Police Department stopped the vehicle and found Williams and Gibase inside, as well as a “saw blade under the passenger seat.”

Ray Gibase

“Further investigation determined that the infant”s mother, Angelina Williams, was involved in the cable wire tampering incident,” the Upper Chichester Police Department said. “She was subsequently taken into custody and admitted to her involvement.”

Gibase was released but turned himself in to police on Sunday. Daniels — identified by WPVI as the baby’s father — was driving a maroon Chrysler 300 on Saturday morning with three women inside when troopers pulled him over. “Upon further investigation, Troopers determined that Daniels had an active arrest warrant issued by the Upper Chichester Township Police Department.” He was arrested.

Police did not say whether this was the same Chrysler that they had towed and found the baby inside.

Court records show that all three defendants have appeared for a preliminary arraignment. Williams is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on Thursday, while Daniels and Gibase are scheduled to have theirs on April 16.

Williams is being held on $100,000 bail, Daniels is being held on $45,000 bail, and Gibase is being held on $50,000 bail.

NSW Renters Endure Extreme Heat in Homes Lacking Adequate Cooling

0

As the recent summer blazed through New South Wales, many renters found themselves enduring oppressive heat within their homes. Alarming new data reveals that the temperatures inside some rental properties soared to a sweltering 40°C, posing significant health risks.

A study conducted by the rental advocacy group Better Renting monitored 50 rental homes throughout the state from December 2025 to March 2026. The findings highlight a worrying trend: while the World Health Organisation flags indoor temperatures above 25°C as a potential overheating risk, numerous participants in the study were exposed to temperatures between 25°C and 30°C for an average of 12 hours each day.

This prolonged exposure to intense heat left renters grappling with severe fatigue, headaches, nausea, anxiety, and exacerbations of pre-existing health conditions. The oppressive conditions were so unbearable that two participants required hospital emergency care due to the detrimental impact of the heat on their health.

The indoor temperature at Bel Langford's rental property reached a peak of 35.7 degrees during a heatwave on January 10.

The situation underscores the urgent need for improved living conditions for renters in New South Wales, as current environments threaten not only comfort but also the well-being of those residing in these homes.

The health impacts became so severe that the extreme heat even drove two renters participating in the study to visit the hospital emergency departments.

‘It’s pretty gross: A renter’s nightmare

Bel Langford, 19, was one of the participants in the study.

Langford, a part-time student and worker, lives with a flatmate in a Dulwich Hill apartment, in Sydney’s inner west.

The older-style brick unit has large, west-facing windows and no trees for shade.

“For most of summer, from about 11am until sunset, we have direct sun streaming into our windows,” she said.

“It’s a bit like a pizza oven … it just heats and heats and heats and then it can’t cool down overnight either. It’s pretty gross”

Bel Langford says minimum temperature or insulation standards are needed in NSW to protect renters like her.

During the summer, the peak temperature recorded in her apartment was 35.7 degrees.

Langford, who is neurodivergent and takes medication that increases sweating, told nine.com.au the heat became a sensory nightmare which left her physically and mentally exhausted.

Desperate for a bit of relief, Langford said she slept with ice packs and set up three fans in her room.

“Unfortunately for us, most nights, especially in January, were above 25 degrees. During two of the heat waves, it didn’t drop below 27.7 overnight for three nights,” she said.

Langford resorted to sleeping with ice packs and running three separate fans in her bedroom just to stay regulated.

But the physical toll was still visible; with Langford developing an uncomfortable heat rash all over her body.

Bel Langford resorted to placing three fans around her bedroom in an effort to cool down.

Call for mandatory standards

The report argues that these conditions are a direct consequence of policy failure. New South Wales currently has no mandatory minimum energy efficiency standards for rental homes, meaning landlords are not legally required to provide basic features like insulation or effective ventilation.

Meanwhile, the ACT implemented mandatory standards for insulation, draught-proofing, and efficient heating/cooling in 2023 and Victoria is set to follow suit in 2027, leaving NSW is under pressure to follow suit.

NSW Rental Commissioner, Trina Jones, has been tasked with investigating how to improve energy efficiency in rental properties.

Bernadette Barrett, Deputy CEO of Better Renting, said it was time for the government to step in.

“After reading survey responses from renters who can’t sleep, can’t function properly in their homes, and in some cases are ending up in hospital because their homes are too hot, you have to ask — how are we allowing this to continue?” she said.

Barrett said the NSW Government has a clear opportunity to introduce minimum energy efficiency standards so that renters can sleep, work, and live safely.

Currently, the only way for a tenant to claim a property is uninhabitable due to temperature is to take the matter to the New South Wales Civil and Administrative Tribunal, a process that is often too slow and intimidating for young or vulnerable renters.

Langford said it would come as a huge relief if her landlord decided to install an air conditioning unit in their rental property, but they did not want to ask for it in case it led to an increase in their rent.

“We’re very nervous that if we ask for aircon to be installed, that will risk a rent increase, and we just don’t want to be priced out of our unit,” she said.

Open Heaven 8 April 2026 – Multiplied Peace

Open Heaven 8 April 2026 Wednesday Daily Devotional By Pastor E. A. Adeboye – Multiplied Peace

Open Heaven 8 April 2026 TOPIC – Multiplied Peace

MEMORISE: Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. – Psalm 119:165 (KJV)

READ: Daniel 6:25-28 (KJV)

25 Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.

26 I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end.

27 He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.

28 So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Samuel 23-24

Open Heaven 8 April 2026 MESSAGE

In some cultures, kings often greet their subjects by saying, “Peace be multiplied unto you.” In Daniel 6:25, when King Darius was writing to all his subjects after Daniel had escaped the lions’ den unhurt, he started his letter with, “Peace be multiplied unto you.” Also, in the New Testament, each time Apostle Paul wrote to the various churches, he would start by greeting them, “Grace be unto you and peace from God our Father” (Romans 1:7, 1 Corinthians 1:3, 2 Corinthians 1:2, Galatians 1:3). Likewise, Peter, in his letters, often wrote, “Peace be multiplied unto you” (1 Peter 1:2 and 2 Peter 1:2). All of these greetings make us understand that peace can increase, and it can be multiplied. Even if you feel that you already have peace and there is nothing to worry about, you should always pray that your peace will be multiplied. If peace can bring so much rest, multiplied peace can bring much more.

Years ago, I was returning from Britain to Nigeria on the same flight as a great man of God and his wife. According to his testimony, which I heard later on, he told his wife during the flight that since Daddy G.O. was on the plane with them, there was absolutely nothing to worry about. When we were halfway through the journey, the plane encountered severe turbulence, and the entire cabin began to shake. According to the man of God, he got up at that moment, looked at where I was seated on the plane, and saw that I was fast asleep. He then returned to his seat and told his wife that there was absolutely nothing to worry about because “Daddy is sleeping.” He said that seeing me sleeping at that moment multiplied the peace he already had.

When you experience multiplied peace from God, every form of trouble or fear will be far from you. In John 14:27, Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” I pray that the peace of the Lord will be multiplied unto you today, in Jesus’ name.

Beloved, the secret to enjoying multiplied peace from God is revealed in today’s memory verse – loving Him and His law. If you indeed want your peace to be multiplied, you must love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37), and obey His commandments at all times.

Open Heaven 8 April 2026 HYMN 29 – When Peace Like A River Attendeth My Way

1 When peace like a river
attendeth my way,
when sorrows like sea billows roll;
whatever my lot,
thou hast taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul.

Refrain
(may be sung after final stanza only):
It is well with my soul;
it is well, it is well with my soul.

2 Though Satan should buffet, though trials
should come,
let this blest assurance control:
that Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
and has shed his own blood for my soul. Refrain

3 My sin oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
my sin, not in part, but the whole,
is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more;
praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul! Refrain

4 O Lord, haste the day
when my faith shall be sight,
the clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
the trump shall resound and the Lord shall
descend;
even so, it is well with my soul. Refrain
