DCLM Daily Manna 10 April 2026 — What A Question!

DCLM Daily Manna 10 April 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — What A Question!

TOPIC: What A Question! (DCLM Daily Manna 10 April 2026)

KEY VERSE: Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David – Matthew 22:42

TEXT: Matthew 22:41-46 (KJV)

41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,

42 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David.

43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,

44 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?

45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?

46 And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

In 2016, the world witnessed an event that stunned global intellectual and political circles: the unexpected outcome of the US presidential election. Pundits, pollsters, and seasoned analysts had confidently predicted one result, only for reality to overturn their calculations. The shock exposed a truth often overlooked by the world’s elite: even the sharpest minds can misjudge the forces at play.

A similar moment unfolds in our passage. The Pharisees – religious scholars, legal experts, and the intellectual elite of their time – had spent the day challenging Jesus with intricate theological and legal traps. Yet, with a single question, Christ dismantled their assumptions, exposing the limits of their understanding. The question He asked was not merely an intellectual puzzle but a revelation of divine mystery – “What think ye of Christ? Whose son is he?” They responded with certainty: “The Son of David.” It was the expected answer, drawn from prophetic Scriptures. But Jesus pressed further: “How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?”

The logic was inescapable. If the Messiah was merely David’s son, why did David himself call Him Lord? The Pharisees, men trained in theological argumentation, were left speechless. The passage concludes with a striking statement: “And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.” Christ’s question shattered their limited framework. They had confined the Messiah to human lineage and earthly rule, but Jesus revealed a greater reality: He was not just David’s descendant but David’s Lord.

Everybody from all occupations – academics, policy makers, thought leaders, and influencers – must answer this question at some point in their lives. In an age where human intelligence and expertise are exalted above any other consideration, we must confront an uncomfortable truth: knowledge alone does not lead to ultimate wisdom. Today, scholars no doubt dissect theology, leaders shape nations, and innovators push boundaries; yet, without Christ, all wisdom is vain. The question remains relevant: What think ye of Christ? Is He just a historical figure, a moral teacher, or the Lord of all, including your own Lord and Saviour? The response is all yours to give.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
The best of earthly wisdom is far from being a match for divine wisdom.

Rhapsody Of Realities 10 April 2026: Rich In Christ

Rhapsody Of Realities 10 April 2026 By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome (Christ Embassy): Rich In Christ

TOPIC: Rich In Christ (Rhapsody of Realities 10 April 2026)

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich (2 Corinthians 8:9).

Rhapsody Of Realities For Today’s MESSAGE:

The Word of God is clear: poverty is not from God; therefore, you should never accept the message of poverty. Poverty is inconsistent with our divine nature and heritage in Christ. The Bible shows clearly that the Lord Jesus became poor, in contrast to His true wealth, for one purpose: that you might become rich.

That’s what we read in our opening scripture. It wasn’t referring to spiritual riches; the Lord Jesus was never poor spiritually. The context is financial and material blessings. He laid aside all that belonged to Him so that through His substitutionary work, you would come into prosperity and financial abundance.

Some may say that God isn’t interested in making His children rich, but the Word already declares His will. In Christ, you’re an heir of God. All things are yours. Some may choose not to enjoy them, but they should never claim that poverty is God’s plan. The blessing of God brings prosperity, supply, and supernatural advantage.

Let’s for a moment review and ponder the magnitude of what belongs to us, our riches in Christ, as stated in Ephesians 3:8. Paul, by the Spirit, writes, “To me, though I am the very least of all the saints (God’s consecrated people), this grace (favor, privilege) was granted and graciously entrusted: to proclaim to the Gentiles the unending (boundless, fathomless, incalculable, and exhaustless) riches of Christ [wealth which no human being could have searched out]” (AMPC).

Our riches are unsearchable, beyond quantification, exhaustless, boundless, and incalculable. This is the kind of wealth you’ve been called to enjoy. It’s Kingdom wealth—superior to earthly economics—and it’s yours now in Christ Jesus. Therefore, refuse to think lack. Refuse to talk scarcity. Live with the consciousness of your divine inheritance.

Every so often, say to yourself, “I have unsearchable riches in Christ. All things are mine. I walk in abundance, and I give lavishly into the Gospel for the advancement of the Kingdom.” Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for the unsearchable riches of Christ that belong to me. I walk in divine supply, abundance, and I’m empowered to give, to bless, and to cause the Gospel to spread everywhere. I reject lack and embrace the fullness of your provision, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

1 Corinthians 3:21-23 (KJV) Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours; [22] Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours; [23] And ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.

Ephesians 3:8 (GNT) I am less than the least of all God’s people; yet God gave me this privilege of taking to the Gentiles the Good News about the infinite riches of Christ,

Galatians 3:29 (KJV) And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Set to Tie the Knot: Exclusive Details on Date and Venue

0

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are preparing for a grand wedding celebration this summer.

Sources reveal that the acclaimed singer, 36, and the NFL star, also 36, are set to exchange vows in New York on July 3.

Insiders mention that invitees were required to submit a signed non-disclosure agreement along with their RSVPs when they received the save-the-date cards, aiming to maintain secrecy around the event.

Despite Swift recently donning bridal-themed attire in New York City, the couple, including the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end, reportedly feels let down by the leak of details but does not intend to take legal action.

Although the precise location of the ceremony remains a mystery, it is rumored to be held in a venue resembling a large arena or a museum.

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Swift and Kelce for comment.

The location comes as a surprise as fans had previously speculated whether the highly-anticipated wedding would be taking place at Swift’s $17 million Rhode Island mansion.

However, Swift has long-standing ties to New York.

She bought two neighboring penthouses in Tribeca in 2014, later combining them into one expansive duplex. Since then, she has also bought the townhouse next door and a 3,500-square-foot loft in the same building.

The superstar also wrote an ode to the city with her 2014 hit song Welcome to New York.

In 2016, she rented a townhouse on Cornelia Street in Greenwich Village, later naming a track Cornelia Street on her 2019 album Lover.

Swift is often spotted around New York City, dining at restaurants with her famous friends.

Sources previously said preparations are very much underway, and that Swift has already made specific demands about what she wants her big day to look like.

‘It will take place someplace indoors,’ one insider shared.

‘Taylor doesn’t want it to be like Selena’s wedding,’ the insider continued, referring to the recent nuptials of the pop star’s best friend Selena Gomez – who wed Benny Blanco in white marquees outdoors at the Sea Crest Nursery in Santa Barbara, California, last September.

It is understood the worry is that privacy couldn’t be properly ensured at an outdoor venue.

The ‘whole thing will be recorded’ so that the newlyweds can look back on their big day, according to our first source, who suggested Swift may wish to share some moments with fans.

Both insiders also confirmed that the reception will be ‘big,’ as Swift herself revealed on The Graham Norton Show last October while promoting her latest album The Life of a Showgirl.

Sitting on Norton’s famous red sofa, Swift described the wedding as ‘huge’ and said she was ‘so excited about it’ because ‘the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount’.

She said having fewer guests often means you ‘have to evaluate or assess your relationship’ with friends.

‘I’m not gonna do that,’ she added, before joking: ‘Anyone I’ve ever talked to [is getting an invitation].’

Aside from the couple’s respective families, Kelce’s teammate Patrick Mahomes and wife Brittany Mahomes are expected to attend, as well as Gomez and Blanco.

Swift previously described the wedding as 'huge' on The Graham Norton Show last October, and said that 'anyone I've ever talked to [is getting an invitation]'

But it will surprise no one that Swift’s BFF-turned-enemy Blake Lively is unlikely to receive an invite, our sources said.

We’re also told that while Swift has seemingly put the months of drama with the It Ends With Us actress behind her – after being dragged into the latter’s legal saga with Justin Baldoni – Swift and Lively, 38, are still not as close as they once were.

Kelce popped the question to Swift last summer after two years together in an intimate and romantic proposal held in the backyard of his Kansas mansion.

Sharing the news on Instagram, Swift wrote: ‘Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.’

Swift has previously dated Joe Alwyn, Taylor Lautner, Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Hiddleston, while Kelce was in a long-term relationship with YouTuber Kayla Nicole.

Council Employees Advocate for Four-Day Work Week Amid Rising Fuel Costs

0

In Brief

  • A union representing council workers has proposed a four-day working week amid the fuel crisis.
  • It says workers are struggling to keep up with extra fuel costs.

NSW council employees are at the forefront in advocating for a four-day work week in response to a severe fuel and energy crisis, which some are saying surpasses the previous two crises combined.

The United Services Union (USU) has brought forward a new proposal to the NSW Industrial Relations Commission (IRC) today. The proposal emphasizes the need for enhanced job protections and greater flexibility to support its members amidst the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The USU, which represents approximately 25,000 local government workers across NSW and the ACT, reports that nearly half of its members are facing challenges commuting to work due to the escalating fuel prices.

Since the onset of the fuel crisis in March, the USU conducted a survey involving 1,293 council workers. Results indicated that 72 percent have cut back on personal activities to save on fuel expenses, while 70 percent felt that company allowances did not sufficiently cover these rising costs.

The survey also revealed that 40 percent of respondents are spending at least an additional $50 weekly on petrol, with 20 percent incurring over $100 more each week.

The union has asked the IRC to lock in work-from-home rights, and for a 50 per cent increase in fuel subsidies.

“Last week we wrote to all 128 councils in NSW asking them to look at work-from-home provisions for staff who are able to, and for consideration of four-day weeks for those who cannot,” USU head of legal Daniel Papps said.

“Since then we have seen no change in the situation in the Middle East and so now we are ramping up our efforts on behalf of our members to make sure they’re not carrying the impact of this crisis.”

Papps said the union had suggested a four-day work week be considered for staff who can’t work from home.

“That might mean they work an extra few hours each day, but save themselves one daily commute,” he said.

“This is important for our regional members who sometimes drive 100 kilometres back and forth to work each day, and our members in the city who struggle with hour-long commutes to and from work.”

The proposed Local Government (Fuel Crisis) Splinter Award 2026 could benefit up to 55,000 council workers in roles ranging across road construction and garden maintenance; to positions in libraries, swimming pools and call centres.

“It’s my hope we’ll be able to come up with a series of measures and relief for workers across NSW to deal with the emerging and continuing fuel crisis,” Papps said.

He called for a sober discussion between workers and their bosses over measures that could be put in place to conserve fuel so people can save money and keep fuel for the people who need it most, such as truckies and farmers.

Many countries in the Asia Pacific region rely on fuel that travels through the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has blocked for the past month after US strikes on the country. International Energy Agency director Fatih Birol described the resulting global fuel shortage as the worse than the previous Gulf wars and Russia’s war on Ukraine combined.

To conserve resources, government workers in the Philippines have moved to a four-day work week, while Sri Lanka has declared each Wednesday a public holiday.

In Australia, the USU is expected to appear before the commission for further negotiations next Friday.

“We’ll have some preliminary discussions with the employers in between now and Friday to get a sense of what they’re looking for. But our hope is that we’re able to come to a sensible compromise by next week,” Papps said.

Robert MacIntyre’s Fiery Reaction Caught on Camera During Dramatic Masters Round

0

As the Masters unfolded, many golfers felt a pang of empathy watching Robert MacIntyre’s struggle on the notorious 15th hole on Thursday.

Ranked as the world’s No. 8, MacIntyre faced a challenging moment when his ball found the water hazard twice on Augusta National’s 15th hole during the tournament’s opening round. Frustration got the better of him, leading to a candid moment caught on camera as he gestured his displeasure with a middle finger aimed at his misbehaving ball.

This unfortunate turn led to a quadruple-bogey nine on the 15th, marking a rough start for MacIntyre at the Masters.

By the end of the day, he recorded an 8-over-par 80, placing him tied for 82nd.

His frustration was building even before this incident. As reported by the Telegraph, MacIntyre’s temper flared on the 12th hole after an unsatisfactory tee shot, audibly expressing his exasperation with, “It’s now going left to right, Jesus f–k!”

When MacIntyre putted off the green on 13, he yelled, “F—– w—–.”

Cameras also caught him slamming his golf club on the fairway on the 17th hole.

The outbursts could earn MacIntyre a reprimand from the famously strict Augusta National officials, who prefer to issue “severe warnings” rather than fines, according to the Telegraph.

MacIntyre is known to have a bit of a fiery personality and last week during the Valero Texas Open, a mic picked up his saying his shot was “f–king s–t.”

Addressing the instance this week before the start of the Masters, MacIntyre told The Scotsman that he knows that he’s “volatile, and I know the bad language and stuff, but that’s just me.”

“I am trying to do my best out on the golf course,” he said. “I’m a sportsman and it is live sport. I’m going to react the way I want to react. I’m not going to change how I react because there is someone standing there or elsewhere. I am trying to do the best that I can and I will take my time after to go and sign autographs with kids and what not, but, when I am playing golf I am red-lining.”

Neighbor Steps In: Alleged Gunman Killed After Domestic Dispute Leaves Two Women Injured

0

An incident in Washington state turned deadly when a man was shot and killed by a neighbor after he allegedly began firing at two women during a domestic altercation that extended into a nearby driveway, according to law enforcement officials.

The Puyallup Police Department reported that officers were dispatched around 9:10 a.m. on April 2. They stated that 47-year-old Arnino Guanlao had shot at two female relatives following a heated family disagreement that erupted outside their residence.

As the situation intensified, a neighbor, who had initially been indoors, stepped outside and intervened by shooting Guanlao, resulting in his death, police confirmed.

Tragically, 23-year-old Christiannel Lyle Macapagal Maningat was killed at the scene. The second woman involved was rushed to a hospital, where she is battling life-threatening injuries, authorities reported.

Washington State crime scene

The confrontation left one woman dead and another critically injured after a neighbor took action against the gunman in this violent domestic dispute in Washington state.

Authorities said the case remains under investigation, including a review of the neighbor’s use of force.

Washington law allows a person to use force to protect himself or others if he reasonably believes it is necessary, but deadly force is only justified when facing an immediate threat of serious injury or death.

“That’s under investigation as to exactly how the circumstances took place,” PPD Capt. Kevin Gill said during a press briefing.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene as gunfire erupted in the neighborhood.

“There was a girl here who was face down, and she was still breathing a little and trying to move a little, but she wasn’t doing much. And then pretty quick a cop came on scene, and he and I pulled her out, turned her over and found her gunshot wound on her abdomen,” neighbor Michelle Weingarden-Bandes told FOX 13 Seattle.

“We are all not just in shock about what we saw, those of us who were out here this morning, but that this has happened in our neighborhood.”

Investigators said the neighbor who shot the suspect is cooperating as detectives work to determine the circumstances of the use of force, according to FOX 13 Seattle.

Detectives are also working to determine what led to the dispute and are processing multiple sites linked to the incident, the outlet reported.

Residents reported hearing multiple gunshots during the incident.

Law enforcement officials said detectives are continuing to interview witnesses, many of whom were left distraught by the violence.

Additional reporting by Law & Crime identified Guanlao as the victims’ stepfather and said he had been firing at his adult stepdaughters when the neighbor intervened.

Authorities have not said what sparked the initial dispute.

The PPD said detectives with its Criminal Investigations Division, along with the Metro Cities Crime Response Unit, are continuing to investigate the incident.

Fox News Digital has reached out to police for additional information.

The violence has left the victims’ family reeling.

A GoFundMe created for the family says the victims’ mother is now caring for her surviving daughters while grieving the loss of one child and remaining at the bedside of another who is still hospitalized.

The fundraiser, which has raised nearly $19,000, says the family’s lives “changed in a matter of moments” and describes the emotional toll on the two other daughters now coping with the aftermath of the violence.

Organizers said the funds will help cover funeral costs, medical expenses and basic living needs as the family navigates the aftermath of the shooting.

Man Allegedly Strangles Boss with Tank Top and Attempts Escape with Trailer Before Smiling for Mugshot, Police Report

0

Inset: Richard D. Barker (Sarasota County Jail). Background: The area in Florida where Barker allegedly killed his boss, Jeffrey Hubbard (Google Maps).

In Florida, a 42-year-old man faces accusations of murdering his employer, allegedly strangling the 56-year-old victim with a tank top. He reportedly confessed to officers with the words, “I killed the motherf—er,” and later posed with a chilling grin for his booking photograph.

Richard Dustin Barker has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder, as well as tampering with evidence, following the death of Jeffrey Hubbard, according to court documents.

The Venice Police Department’s probable cause affidavit reveals that officers were dispatched to a home on the 200 block of Grove Street South at about 6 a.m. They were responding to a report of a fight between two men outside the building. According to the caller, after the altercation, one man left the scene in a red pickup truck, only to return with a trailer and haul away the other man’s body.

Upon arrival, police discovered Hubbard’s unresponsive body lying behind the trailer, with a blood-stained white tank top wrapped around his neck, as detailed in the affidavit.

When officers approached, Barker reportedly exited his vehicle, placed his hands on his head, and confessed, “I killed the motherf—er,” a statement captured on body camera footage.

Emergency crews attempted lifesaving measures, but Hubbard was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a news release, police confirmed that Barker and Hubbard knew each other “through their employment at the incident location, where Barker was employed by Hubbard.” The affidavit says Barker works in engine repair for RPM Mower Repair on Grove Street.

Investigators say Barker later waived his Miranda rights and admitted he went to the location intending to kill Hubbard, whom he identified as his boss. He told detectives he knew the victim’s routine and waited for him to leave the building early that morning to get coffee.

“The defendant stated he tied his white tank top shirt around his wrist to use as a ligature/weapon and wore a motorcycle helmet to protect his head and face from injury,” police wrote in the affidavit. “[Barker] stated when the victim exited the building, he immediately confronted him and began to strangle the victim with the tank top shirt. The defendant stated this was not effective and the victim began fighting back, ultimately lifting the visor to the helmet and scratching the defendant’s face. The defendant stated he placed one (1) hand around the victim’s neck and throat and continued to strangle the victim.”

Barker claimed he and the victim both fell to the ground and continued struggling before he “wrapped an arm around the victim’s neck and strangled him until he died.”

“The defendant stated after he killed the victim, he placed the tank top shirt around the victim’s neck so EMS personnel would not be able to save him,” the affidavit said.

Authorities say Barker then removed items from Hubbard’s pockets, including keys and a folding knife, and used a hose to wash blood from the sidewalk. When he could not lift the body into his truck, he drove to a nearby gas station to retrieve a trailer before returning to the scene.

Witnesses told police they saw Barker come back and begin dragging Hubbard’s body toward the truck, which is when officers arrived and took him into custody.

Barker allegedly told detectives he planned to transport the body to Port Charlotte and bury it in a remote area.

The defendant is currently being held in the Sarasota County Jail without bond and is due to appear in court on Friday, records show.

Electricity bills have now surpassed groceries as the most pressing cost-of-living concern for Australians.

According to recent findings from iSelect, a leading comparison website, a significant 86 percent of Australians are anxious about their energy bills. More than half, 57 percent, regard electricity as their primary expense, overtaking groceries at 52 percent and transport at 44 percent.

Sophie Ryan, a comparison specialist, highlights that electricity costs continue to dominate people’s thoughts as they grapple with persistent financial challenges.

The amount of physical cash circulating in Australia is at a near-record high.
Power bills have officially knocked groceries off the top spot as Australia’s biggest cost-of-living headache. (iStock)

She observes that many households are intentionally adjusting their daily energy consumption, with even minor changes accumulating to make a noticeable impact over time.

“We’re seeing a return to some very practical, low-cost solutions. Many people are layering clothing, using blankets or being more selective about when they turn the heater on, rather than relying on heating throughout the day,” she tells nine.com.au.
