American Airlines Passenger Duct-Taped During Wild Onboard Tirade

0

An American Airlines passenger was restrained with duct tape during a flight after an alleged alcohol-fueled outburst involving racist and homophobic remarks forced the aircraft to divert.

Arthur Lundeen, 67, of Arizona, was allegedly zip-tied and taped to his seat aboard Flight 618, which was traveling from Dallas, Texas, to Newark, New Jersey, TMZ reported.

Passengers said Lundeen appeared to be intoxicated when he began shouting at the man seated next to him at around 10pm, after the flight had completed roughly three-quarters of its route.

The disturbance escalated as the 67-year-old allegedly ranted about Jesus and going to hell, prompting a flight attendant to step in and check on the situation, sources told TMZ.

Lundeen, who was seated in first class, then allegedly directed the N-word at the Black flight attendant and made homophobic comments, according to the outlet.

A female passenger allegedly attempted to help, but the unruly passenger reportedly pushed her, causing three male passengers to get up.

Lundeen then allegedly bit one male passenger and attempted to bite another.

‘Just like a light switch, all of a sudden, it went from quiet to yelling and chaos,’ Juan Mejia, a retired police officer who was on the flight, told CBS News.

‘I turned around to look, and the poor gentleman that was sitting next to him in the aisle seat, the individual had his hands around his neck and was, like, assaulting him.’

Mejia and Richard Olenick, who were both sitting two rows in front of Lundeen, jumped up to help.

A flight attendant handed the men duct tape, and they reportedly tied him up, wrapping the gray adhesive around his wrists, head, and body to secure him to the seat.

Lundeen allegedly tried to get out of his restraints and the male passengers held him down.

Flight 618 was diverted to Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, landing 15 minutes later.

Lundeen was taken into custody on state charges, and federal charges could to be filed by the FBI, according to TMZ.

Lundeen also allegedly hit his seatmate and smashed his computer.

American Airlines told the Daily Mail the flight was diverted due to a ‘disruptive customer.’

Lundeen was deplaned and the flight then continued on to Newark.

Bruce Campbell Says Doctors Gave Him Five Years to Live Amid Cancer Battle

Bruce Campbell is sharing a candid update on his cancer diagnosis, emphasizing that he has no intention of allowing the illness to define the way he spends his life.

The 68-year-old actor, beloved by horror fans for his long-running role as Ash Williams in the Evil Dead franchise, opened up about his health during a September 3 appearance on The Adam Carolla Show. While Campbell did not disclose the specific type of cancer he is facing, he said his current prognosis suggests he has roughly five years to live, “give or take.”

“I’ve decided though, pretty specifically, to live with it, not die from it,” Campbell told host Adam Carolla. He added that the world of cancer research, forums and support groups can quickly become overwhelming, saying, “The cancer rabbit hole is enormous. You can go into focus groups of 10,000 guys who have exactly what you have. I won’t touch it with a 10 foot pole.”

Campbell said his approach is rooted in protecting his time and mental energy rather than letting the diagnosis consume his every thought. Instead, he is focusing on the work in front of him, including promoting Ernie & Emma, the independent dramedy he wrote, directed and produced, in addition to starring in as the lead.

“I’m moving on. I got a movie to promote. And when I promote this movie, I have nothing. I’m free and clear when I promote this movie mentally,” Campbell said. “You have to make this decision of, ‘well, okay, but do I have to stop everything that I’m doing because of this?’ Well, no.”

Campbell said he feels “perfect” right now and doesn’t intend to put his life on hold because of his illness. He also acknowledged that the disease itself isn’t necessarily the only thing that concerns him.

“The cancer, it creep me out because of the ancillary stuff that it does. It’s not just, you don’t die for cancer. You die from what cancer does to you,” he continued.

You can listen to the full episode below via Spotify:

Campbell first revealed that he was dealing with cancer in March, when he said his condition was “treatable, not curable.” He didn’t offer specifics about his diagnosis then, either, but explained that treatment would force him to step back from some of his usual professional obligations.

“I apologize if that’s a shock – it was to me. I’m not gonna go into more detail,” he wrote. “I’m posting this because professionally, a few things will have to change – appearances and cons and work in general need to take back seat to treatment.”

Even with treatment taking priority, Campbell said at the time that he was hoping to be feeling well enough by the summer to get out and promote Ernie & Emma. The movie has remained a major focus for him throughout the health battle.

“It doesn’t change anything for me,” he told the Salem Statesman Journal in March. “It makes you prioritize 100 percent, and for me, the priority is this movie.”

And Ernie & Emma is certainly personal to Campbell, who wears several hats on the project. The movie follows a small-town pear salesman who sets off on a strange and ultimately reflective journey after his wife’s death, following a detailed list of instructions for what to do with her ashes.

According to the film’s synopsis, the man’s journey takes him through a series of “challenging and reflective escapades.” For Campbell, meanwhile, the movie seems to represent exactly the kind of thing he’s choosing to put his energy into now: making something, getting it out into the world and continuing to move forward.

16-Year-Old Faces Adult Charges in Lewis Place Shooting

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A 16-year-old Gainesville teen, Peter L. Roman III, is facing adult charges after police say he opened fire at a male outside Lewis Place Apartments on August 7. Roman has been charged with attempted homicide and possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent.

According to the Gainesville Police Department, officers were called to Lewis Place Apartments at 4121 NE 15th Street around 7:25 p.m. after reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found two victims, including one person who had been grazed in the cheek by a bullet.

The victims told investigators they had been standing outside Building 1 when a white Nissan sedan pulled into the apartment complex parking lot. They said one occupant got out and approached them, later referenced as the first witness, while Roman was allegedly seated in the front passenger seat. The victims also identified the driver and a back-seat passenger, later referenced as the second witness.

One victim told police that he and the other victim began walking toward the vehicle because they planned to “go smoke,” but the car then pulled away. As it left, he said Roman, who is also known as “P3,” leaned out of the front passenger-side window and fired several shots at them with a handgun. The victim reported that one of the rounds grazed his cheek.

The second victim told officers he did not see who fired the gun, but he confirmed that he knew the three males who were inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting.

The first witness reportedly said the two victims were standing in the breezeway of an apartment building when they drove into the parking lot, and Roman told the first witness he “need[ed] to pick a side.” He said he saw Roman rack a gun, and he got out of the car. He said he saw Roman fire multiple rounds in the direction of the victims as the car left the parking lot; he also said that the three occupants of the car put on ski masks just before the shooting.

Another witness at the scene reportedly confirmed the identities of the car’s occupants.

Officers reportedly found six .45-caliber bullets near the front entrance of the apartment complex; they did not find any impacts to buildings or vehicles.

Surveillance video reportedly showed a black male leaning out of the front passenger-side window of the white sedan as the car drove out of the parking lot and then pointing the gun at the victims.

After the shooting, Roman and the driver reportedly made several phone calls to their respective parents, and they refused to return to the scene to speak with officers.

The second witness reportedly said he saw the first victim pull out a handgun with a purple laser and then point the gun at the sedan; he said the driver took a pistol from his waistband, racked the slide, and handed the pistol to Roman. The witness said the first victim returned his pistol to his waistband but continued walking toward the sedan, and Roman told the driver to “pull out,” so they began driving out of the parking lot. He said Roman started shooting from the passenger side of the building, and then they drove to Santa Fe Oaks Apartments (8203 NW 31st Avenue), where the sedan was later found by Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputies.

On August 11, Roman was interviewed, and post Miranda, he reportedly said that as the driver sped out of the apartment complex, he handed Roman a black Glock and told him to fire it. He said he aimed the pistol at the victims and fired multiple shots in their direction; he said they drove to Santa Fe Oaks Apartments, where the driver asked for his pistol back. He said he only shot the gun because the driver told him to.

Roman has been charged with attempted second-degree murder with a firearm and possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent. According to court documents, he has an “extensive” juvenile history, including convictions for attempted burglary of an unoccupied vehicle and resisting an officer without violence. Judge Joy Danne set bail at $600,000, the amount set by Judge James Colaw in his order transferring Roman to the adult criminal court.

Katie Holmes Stuns in Retro ’60s Minidress and Finds Her Perfect Look

For a fashion designer and A-list star with access to some of the world’s most sought-after stylists, Katie Holmes has not always had the easiest time landing on a signature look.

That appeared to change on Tuesday, when the 35-year-old mother of one arrived at a Tiffany event channeling polished 1960s glamour, with an outfit that looked as if it could have stepped straight out of the world of Mad Men.

The retro-inspired choice suited her beautifully. The former Dawson’s Creek star looked fresher, more refined and, yes, noticeably cooler than she has in years.

Holmes wore a fluid navy shift dress with a cream underlay, a sleek silhouette that flattered her classic figure while giving the look an elegant, modern finish.

Her slim legs looked great in the versatile pointed pumps that became popular in the decade that swung, and remain so today.

Katie kept her retro theme strong with a chignon swept forward into a half fringe.

Makeup and jewellery was kept to a minimum, in the former’s case the emphasis was on pretty pink and kohled eyes.

The independent young woman -who has denied she is dating comedian Jason Segal –  attended the event solo.

Life has moved on in the 21 months since Katie’s split from Tom Cruise, and she has done a fantastic job of reinventing herself as a working actress with a routine and relatively low-profile.

Key to achieving this was her move to New York, ostensibly to be nearer Broadway but also, it seems, so she can lose herself in the masses of Manhattan.

She certainly seems to enjoy the bustle, which is the antithesis of the deserted yet lushly manicured sidewalks of Beverly Hills where she lived with the 51-year-old megastar.

In Holmes’ Hollywood, getting around would involve nothing more liberating than a blacked out Escalade or pedalling on the spot at Soul Cycle.

Mets Lead Underachieving Teams Shaping the 2026 MLB Season

0

This was supposed to be remembered as Pete Crow-Armstrong’s arrival, the season Cam Schlittler carved out a reputation as a true ace, and the 2026 campaign in which the White Sox finally climbed out of baseball’s basement.

Instead, the lasting headline will be something far less celebratory: a year defined by disappointment, and not just from one underachieving club.

The Mets failed to absorb the hard lessons of last season and somehow slid even further. The 2025 ALCS field turned into a warning label for almost everyone except the Yankees — yes, Blue Jays, Mariners and Tigers, that includes you. More broadly, the American League was so shockingly weak that even some of baseball’s most frustrating teams remained mathematically alive for a postseason spot with three weeks still on the schedule.

Pittsburgh appeared to build a stronger roster around Paul Skenes, only for Skenes to regress and drag the Pirates down with him. Terry Francona’s familiar managerial magic did not carry the Reds for a second straight season, and Tony Vitello’s college-baseball energy failed to translate into a spark for the Giants.

Alleged Black Widow Accused of Trying to Kill 69-Year-Old Online Love Interest

A Florida woman has been jailed on an attempted murder charge after authorities said she drugged a man she met through a dating app.

Samantha Adams, 39, had been seeing the 69-year-old victim for two to three months in what Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd described as a relationship centered on “paid sex” after the pair connected online.

Investigators said Adams introduced herself to the man as “Nala.”

Judd said Polk County deputies have referred to her as the “Black Widow.”

“She tried to kill him,” Judd said in a video posted to social media. “She tried to overdose him. She tried to extort him.”

On Aug. 17, Adams and the victim were in an argument about a vehicle he’d bought for her, court records show. When he told her he wanted it back because he couldn’t afford it, she said they could discuss it at his house, according to records.

When at the victim’s home, Adams gave him a shot glass filled with “suspected whiskey,” court records show.

“She slipped him benzodiazepine,” Judd said.

After he drank the beverage, the two “engaged in physical affection,” court records show. When the victim “attempted to touch the defendant in a sexual manner,” Adams demanded $1,000, according to court records. When he told her he didn’t have the money, she got dressed and left the home.

Not long after, the victim was asked to pick up his granddaughter from a Wawa gas station near a movie theater where he’d dropped her off with her boyfriend earlier that day.

On his way to the Wawa, he began feeling ill, court records show.

Later, he could only recall being pulled from the driver’s seat by his granddaughter and being moved to the back seat of the vehicle, Adams’ arrest warrant shows.

The granddaughter drove her unconscious grandfather home. When he was still unconscious later in the evening, she called 911.

At the hospital, the victim was given Narcan for a suspected opioid overdose, records show.

A urine analysis and other testing showed he had benzodiazepine poisoning, metabolic encephalopathy, dehydration, and acute kidney injury, investigators reported.

Benzodiazepines are depressants that cause sedation and hypnosis, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. Overdosing on the drug can cause extreme drowsiness, confusion, impaired coordination, decreased reflexes, respiratory depression, coma and possible death.

The victim told investigators that he doesn’t drink often.

The last time he drank and consumed “exponentially higher” amounts of alcohol was on the Fourth of July, when he had three Long Island Teas and three beers, he said.

And he was never drowsy and disoriented like he was when he drank with Adams, he told investigators. It wasn’t the first time the victim had become drowsy after meeting with Adams, he said.

Earlier in August, the victim fell asleep behind the wheel after leaving Adams’ home. He was awakened by an Osceola County Sheriff’s deputy after he accidentally reversed his truck into the deputy’s agency vehicle.

“There’s lots of investigations still to go,” Judd said. “That’s underway.”

The victim’s normal medications do not include benzodiazepines, investigators found.

He also was assessed for mental acuity and wasn’t found to be in a forgetful state of mind or a state in which he would intentionally take the drugs to hurt himself. And he wasn’t found to have a previous history of opioid use.

Ten days after the incident, Adams was arrested outside of a Dick’s Sporting Goods in Polk County on Aug. 27.

In addition to attempted murder, she’s been charged with resisting an officer without violence, offering prostitution, tampering with physical evidence and five different drug-related charges.

When searching Adams’ vehicle, authorities found prescription medication including: 19 pills of hydrocodone/acetaminophen, 2 1⁄2 pills of oxycodone hydrochloride, nine Zoloft pills, a partial Adderall pill and a partial Xanax pill.

Adams was previously involved in a Lake County investigation in which a woman named “Nala” was approaching an elderly man “with the intent to obtain goods and money from the gentleman,” court records show.

Polk County jail records show Adams was still in custody without bond as of Sept. 2. Her attorney did not respond to a request for comment before publication.

Driver Throws Water at Influencer After She Tells Him to Give Horse a Drink

0

A heated confrontation erupted in Palma, Majorca, when a horse-drawn carriage driver allegedly threw water at German influencer Xenia Denise and branded her a “Nazi” after she urged him to let his horse drink.

Video from the scene shows Denise, 31, standing beside what she described as an “emaciated” horse while appealing to the driver to help the animal, saying: “Just give him something to drink.”

Instead, the exchange quickly turned hostile. The driver moved toward her and shouted back: “Go to McDonald’s and eat burgers.”

Moments later, the row intensified further as the man appeared to put his hands near Denise’s face before throwing water at her and using the insult “Nazi.”

Denise later explained that she had approached the carriage driver because she was concerned the horse was thirsty, saying she repeatedly asked him to provide the animal with water.

She claimed that, during parts of the encounter not shown in the footage, the man pointed at her body from top to bottom before walking behind her and yelling: ‘Look at that ass, she needs some McDonald’s.’

She later accused the driver of animal abuse and urged people not to give him money, while sharing a petition calling for the practice to be stopped.

‘There are still emaciated horses in Palma’, she wrote on social media. ‘Such s*** should be abolished’.

The video has racked up millions of views, with many flocking to the comments section to share their support.

One person wrote: ‘I admire your strength so much, to speak up and to not back down. What this man is doing is absolutely unacceptable, those poor horses. Thank you so much for being brave and setting such a great example for the rest of us’.

Another added: ‘you were very brave. The world needs more people with empathy for animals who suffer at the hands of unscrupulous people.’

A third said: ‘I hope you take it to the police. How can people be like that?’

Despite protests from animal activists, horses and donkeys are still forced to work in stifling heat at tourist hotspots across Europe.

The animals are often pushed to exhaustion during the summer months, when temperatures can reach 40C, with many appearing malnourished and in poor condition.

In 2022, footage captured a horse collapsing while pulling a carriage full of tourists through Palma, Majorca, in searing heat.

Horrified onlookers urged the driver to give the distressed animal water and told the tourists to get out of the carriage.

The horse eventually got back to its feet, although it is not known whether it continued the journey.

Denise is not the only animal lover to have confronted an owner over mistreatment of working animals.

She later accused the driver of animal abuse and urged people not to give him money, while sharing a petition calling for the practice to be stopped. 'There are still emaciated, thirsty horses in Palma', she wrote

Last year, Dutch expat Joke Van der Post attacked a man she saw beating a donkey in Egypt.

Shocking footage showed the 47-year-old punching the animal’s handler before chasing him with a whip as he tried to flee.

The donkey could be seen kicking out as it was repeatedly lashed while tethered to a wall on the outskirts of Cairo.

Van der Post, who manages a veterinary practice called the Good Karma Sanctuary, ran at the man, pinned him against a wall and struck him several times while shouting: ‘You think you’re f****** normal.’

As he tried to flee, she grabbed a whip from another donkey handler and chased him away.

The man later filed a police complaint accusing Van der Post of assault and claiming the viral footage had caused him ‘psychological harm’, according to local media.

She was arrested and later released following the altercation.

The footage sparked outrage online and renewed scrutiny of the treatment of working animals in Egyptian tourist hotspots.

Freddie Mercury’s ‘Secret’ Daughter: What We Know So Far

Freddie is said to have fathered a daughter in 1976 (Image: Getty)

Queen fans were stunned last year when fresh claims surfaced suggesting that Freddie Mercury, the band’s legendary frontman, had fathered a daughter. The Somebody to Love singer never publicly defined his sexuality, though his relationships with both men and women have long been documented. At the time of his death, he was in a relationship with Jim Hutton. More than three decades later, reports claimed Mercury died knowing he had a daughter, whose identity has remained private and is known publicly only by the initial B.

The claim was explored in the 2025 biography Love, Freddie by Lesley-Ann Jones. In the book, Jones alleged that Mercury’s child was conceived in 1976 during a brief affair with the wife of one of his close friends. The biography further claimed that the Queen star knew about B and sustained a deeply private but close relationship with her during the last 15 years of his life. According to the account, Mercury gave his daughter 17 of his personal notebooks before his death in 1991.

Freddie and Mary

Discussing the highly personal notebooks, B previously told MailOnline through Jones: “His gift to me was our secret. Although those who lived with him and shared his life knew of the existence of the notebooks, none of them knew, after his death, what had become of them.

“His family, fellow band members, closest friends, associates and management have had no idea until now that he gave them to me as a present.”

She added that Freddie was an “intensely private” man, known for rarely giving interviews, adding: “Everyone else … they knew only what Freddie wanted them to know. Which wasn’t much.”

At the time of this bombshell revelation, B was married in Europe, a mother and working in the medical field.

Jones revealed that B first got in contact in 2021, and after developing a friendship, the author was granted permission to share the contents of the notebooks, in addition to recollections of B’s memories of Freddie.

In the book, his daughter penned a heartfelt note, stating: “Freddie Mercury was and is my father. We had a very close and loving relationship from the moment I was born and throughout the final 15 years of his life.

“He adored me and was devoted to me. The circumstances of my birth may seem, by most people’s standards, unusual and even outrageous.

“That should come as no surprise. It never detracted from his commitment to love and look after me. He cherished me like a treasured possession.”

While the bombshell left many fans divided, and the love of Freddie’s life, Mary Austin, was in complete disbelief and saying: “He never told me he had a daughter, and I can’t imagine him ever keeping that secret.”

Anita Dobson, the wife of his Queen bandmate, Brian May, also chimed in, shutting down the claims as a “load of rubbish,” telling the Telegraph: “I knew Freddie really, really well, I was a good friend of his, and I think Brian would trust me with that knowledge.”

Just months later, in January 2026, it was reported that B had died in hospital after a long battle with chordoma, a rare form of spinal cancer.

In a heartbreaking statement, her widower, Thomas, revealed the mother of two sons, aged nine and seven, passed away “peacefully after a long battle with chordoma.”

He added: “B is now with her beloved and loving father in the world of thoughts. Her ashes were scattered to the wind over the Alps.”
